Doable and affordable.
This was a move made by myself. No movers involved. I did rent a 16 ft truck and car dolly from Penske.
The truck was really clean, but it's really uncomfortable in the cabin. I was unlucky enough to have a captain's chair with a broken armrest.
The fuel mileage is great on these vehicle with today's prices. Even at $2.50 a gallon, one is spending at most $50 to fill up the tank. So if you are a pick up truck or large SUV driver than this wouldn't make much sense to you.
Hooking up the dolly to the truck, is not a problem, but the Penske associate wasn't willing to show us and most of the information is not readily available for someone who has never used one before. Long story short, the POD would've cost $1600 to rent. This way I spent just a above $800 all together.
