  1. Twice delayed delivery, no communication.

If the sales consultant, Tom Craft, was also the person responsible for loading and delivering my possessions, I would have no complaints.  Unfortunately, Ihrig Moving and Storage in Buffalo, NY shows none of the professionalism maifested by Mr. Craft.  After our possessions were loaded on May 26, we were told by the driver we could email "Lisa" on the following Tuesday and get an estimated ETA for our furniture.  Our contract stated such a date would fall between June 1 and June 6.  We arrived at our new home in Colorado on May 30 and began our interminable wait.  Lisa could not give us solid dates and times, expressed sorrow but no answers, and finally, after we had spent seven days camped out with limited clothes, no utensils, no furniture, no private records, and none other comfort of home, a response came from the company's president.  This response came only after repeated phone calls and emails expressing our unhappiness, suffering, anger, and frustration. This company president and CEO told us they had finally arranged to find some poor soul to drive our things from Buffalo to Grand Junction Colorado and pur possessions would arrive on June 12, six days after the last possible promised delivery date.  The CEO reminded me that I could make a late delivery claim of 100 dollars per day--of course, I must file it myself after the delivery actually arrived and then wait 5-10 business days for the money when and if the claim was accepted.  Then to add insult to injury, he offered the paltry sum of $200 as a gesture of hi personal sorrow!  i had advocated for a 50% reduction in the final Total Moving Cost.  Apparently the CEO saw his $200 offer as fair and equitable as if addressed my family's pain and suffering.  Beware all those who seek to move from upstae NY and northern PA:  Ihrig Moving and Storage--whether they present themselves as agents for Mayflower or United (they do both)--will only bother to meet your minimum moving needs on their own schedule in their own time.  Your requirements, desires, and necessities as a customer mean little to them.  The bottom line:  working withthis outfit is at best a crapshoot.
