  1. Horrible office staff.

Beware of the office staff they are bunch of liars, will give you a low quote and then add additional charges when they arrive at the door on the move day. At that time the customer is stuck with them and has no choice. Every staff memeber call themselves as the manager if asked to talk to one. If you are a person of color, please do your self a favor and do not go with them.

  2. WORST Company Ever.

If there was a star selection lower than poor, I would be all over that. WORST moving experience of my life. This company has probably the worst customer service and some of the most inept individuals ever.   Aside from waiting two months for my stuff, when it came it arrived broken with boxes missing.   And don't even try to get your stuff back. I'm missing family photos and a slew of other things. You would think that I'm asking for the wheel to be recreated when I ask for people to look for my items.   I am honestly so angry at this point, that all I can say is: don't use this company. Strap your stuff on to your back, hire your cousin Vinny, hell - hire some random man off the street. I promise you'll have a better experience.

  3. Worst moving experience with Quality Move Chicago, IL.

Please don't use this 'Quality move' moving company..They are located in Chicago, IL. This company is basically full of dishonesty..They surprised me several times such as charging more fees after they finish the packing with nobrain calculations..The final price just came from their mind not from exact calculation and explanation basis.. Then they delayed my stuff for around 40 days and they are saying that this is within 30 business days so it is fine..They never told me about 30 business days..They said 2 weeks would be enough..But it took around 6 weeks.. Also some of the delivered stuffs were damaged and I made a claim and they accepted it after a long back and forth communications..pictures..emails.., which took almost 9 month.. And they are not sending me a settlement check since Jan..They are the king of the delay.. Please don't use Quality move for your moving if you want to keep your mental health good.. .

  4. Lost items,poor customer service.

If you want to avoid a possible nightmare DON'T use Quality Move co. based out of chicago. I was overcharged for sqaure footage. The delivery was almost 3 weeks late. When it finally arrived I was missing items. I then spent the next several months trying to retrieve my lost goods by being shuffled around to several different people within the company. Two months in I was informed they found one suitcase but nothing else and that they were to mail it to me. Three months later I was still calling to have them send my suitcase. I was left having to drive hundreds of miles to and from their office in Chicago to pick up the suitcase they lost, found, and never sent. The office was one small room, in a dirty building, in a terrible part of town. Public is not allowed in the door. So I had to stand outside in the ghetto, in the rain, waiting for them to give me my suitcase. It was horrible! Needless to say they never retrieved any of my other items. And if I ever move again I'm renting a u-haul!

  5. Never use this company.

The Original Quote price was $1641.75 which once they came to pick up on 11/28/11 it became $3065.49. They then told me it would be between 5-14 days, the paperwork claiming it could be anywhere between 1-21 business days. (This does not explain whether or not Saturdays are included since they are open on Saturdays.)With out weekends and going off my expected delivery date and NOT the pick-up date it was 29 days. Amount of days total was 41. They kept saying it would not be this long, but would not tell me anything about it. They also would not call to follow up on anything. They didn't even call for the pick-up times, I had to call them.

Once I finally did get a call saying they want to deliver on Halloween they tell me I can’t use a mail order from the bank, THE BANK! This was also on a Friday afternoon which left me little time to run around like a mad woman to get the money I already had deposited into my new bank and get to the post office to get a new one that they would take. Then after finally getting a day for them to come, I get a call from the driver asking if he could come a day later if not it would be later that day. I told him I wanted my things today and so I finally received my things after 9pm on Halloween which would be fine if they hadn't been so loud and disruptive to the others in the apartment complex. They also brought it in a HUGE truck, I was lucky my apartment complex had the means for this.

I also found my nightstand and entertainment center broken; my outdoor table is now missing the glass top (which was the last thing the driver took with him during pick up after I said I would take it and he insisted on taking it with them); my L shaped desk has areas in the drawers where they have been cracked and the door would not latch; a book shelf came unable to stand from its damage (though I'm told it cannot be covered); and complaints about putting the entertainment center together because of the damage they did taking it apart so the only thing they put back together from them dismantling was the bed.

Of course I went through the trouble of filing for my damaged pieces, but was just received an email stating that all they will reimburse out of the over $700 worth of damage is $24. This is because they say they don’t have pictures of the evidence though their driver was taking them. On top of which they say it is only 30 cents per pound, but on all their paperwork its 60 cents, but even that doesn't give me enough to run out and get a lawyer over it. It has been 3 months since they finally gave me my things and since then my fiancé’s father has fixed some to where it is usable, but will probably not handle another movement of any kind. I would have to take it apart to show damage that they would likely not pay for anyways.

This is just a summary of what had happened dealing with them. Some of the things I have read from others sounds very similar to mine; jacked up prices, long wait times, damaged goods, rude customer service (if any), etc. This place is far from professional and has left me outraged at the very thought of their companies name. Someone needs to just shut them down.

  6. Don't Use This Company!

On the front end, the sales person (Danielle) was the best of the bunch that I got estimates from, and she told me they did moves to CA every week and had multiple trucks leaving each week on that route, so that’s why I chose this company over others. Believe me, their price was right in the middle of the over 10 estimates I received, so I did not choose based on price alone, and I especially did my diligence by printing off a list of questions from the moving association to ask a mover before signing a contract. The company did a great job when picking up my stuff, but then the nightmare started…

A week after the date I was told would most likely be the date of delivery, I was then told that my stuff was still in the warehouse. Over the course of the next month I had to place almost daily calls to check on the status of my delivery, during which time I either couldn’t get through to the company and had to leave voicemails, or was given the run-around saying they didn’t know where the driver was and would have to call me back, but I would never get a call back.

During these weeks whenever I did talk to someone at the company, I was told that my stuff would be put on a truck that week and that I should expect delivery the following week, but then the next week would come, and I would then be told that no, my stuff was still not even on a truck, and that the person who told me it was didn’t know what they were talking about and shouldn’t have said that. It got to the point where the dispatcher refused to even talk to me, and I got into a screaming match with the manager of the company, Susan. When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told that the owners were just investors and didn’t have anything to do with running the company so I had to deal with her.

Then, finally, when I was promised delivery on the next Sat or Sun (they still couldn’t tell me an exact day), I called the driver on Friday to verify which day it would be, and he said Sunday. But then, later on Saturday he called to say he couldn’t make it on Sunday after all and that he would be here on Monday instead, which meant I had to take an emergency day off of work (at my new job mind you) to be here for delivery.

On delivery day, when the movers finally arrived, I was then told I would need to pay a couple hundred more dollars because the distance between where the truck could park and my place was more than the 75 feet, as allotted in my contract. THIS after having had my stuff for over a month, and I was told they were not going to unload until I paid the money, in cash. Talk about feeling like my stuff was being held hostage! Thank goodness I had the money available to even be able to pay.

When the movers were done unloading, I was asked to sign a form saying that everything was delivered and in good condition, but as anyone knows during a move, it gets unloaded so fast, and you have boxes all over the place, so inspecting every single item is nearly impossible. And the form I was being pressured into signing said that I personally inspected the truck to make sure none of my items were left on it, but when I asked to see the truck, the driver got upset and said there were too many other people’s things on the truck so he wouldn’t let me inspect. So, I wrote that on the paperwork, in the hope that if I did find anything missing, that I would be able to have recourse.

In the end, I had missing and damaged items, but of course, after filing my claim, I got about half of what I should have received in monetary compensation, and it took over 6 months to finally get my money. Even during the claim process, I had to call Quality Move 5 times over the course of 3 weeks to find out when they would be processing payment after they received the signed claim form from the claim company.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you want a smooth transition to your new home. I consider myself to be a diligent, level-headed, and understanding person, but this company drove me to the brink of insanity. I can’t tell you enough times to STAY AWAY from using this company! I have filed multiple complaints with the Illinois Attorney General’s office and the Better Business Bureau, as well as, posting this review on as many review sites as possible in order to deter others from going through what I’ve gone through.
