A professional move
On approaching Robinsons about moving we got a rapid and positive response. The visit was professional and gave confidence and the quote very reasonable. They were accommodating on moving dates and provided materials for packing in good time. They were very responsive.
They arrived promptly on the move days and worked professionally and rapidly to load and un load items. The movers were friendly and careful. They took precautions to protect the furniture and house. Robinsons' approach made our move as stress free as it possibly can be. We were very satisfied with their work and with the communications with them. I can recommend them.
Painless process.
From favourable quote to move day, everything went smoothly. Boxes, tape and wrappings were dropped off well in advance of the move, allowing us to be somewhere near ready when the packers arrived the day before the move. The crew that performed the move were fantastic. Attentive, friendly and careful.
Throughout the process, communications were maintained so we knew what was happening at every stage.
Criminal operation.
Extraordinarily dishonest. Stay far away from these criminals. Items will go missing. Their "estimates" are fraudulent. Add 50 percent on to them. Dont ever let them pack for you as half the boxes will be paper only. I had a large box that only had a small box of Q-tips in it and was wrapped in their moving paper. 1/3 of your boxes will be nothing but their packing paper.
I moved items into a house that took just over a 20' container. Using Robinsons to do the exact same job and somehow not only did it take up the entire 20' container, a few small expensive items could not fit and would cost me a further £700 to get them. They are extortionists and should be prosecuted by the Police for fraud.
Very, very bad experience.
I used Robinsons to relocate from the USA to the UK. They turned this process into an expensive nightmare. After months of preparation their US agents failed to turn up on the scheduled day to move my belongings. Not only did they fail to turn up they also blatantly lied to me about the reasons for their failure. I was left in an impossible position as I was moving pets and I had to be on a specific flight. I had to leave the USA and arrange for a friend to oversee the moving of my belongings from my house in the USA, a very unsatisfactory arrangement. This means than innumerable items have been packed and moved that I did not want to have packed. Had I been present when the shippers came I could have stopped these items being packed, however as they FAILED to turn up on the appointed day I could not manage the process. Moreover they left a significant piece of furniture in the USA. Their reaction was "claim it on insurance" despite the incalculable significance of this item to my family. Once they had lifted my belongings I was then informed I would have to pay an EXTRA 3,500 Pounds as the volume of goods was bigger than the estimate. You should be aware that you have to self estimate which is fraught with problems, and you will pay dearly for any underestimation. Of course as they had my belongings I had no choice, I had to pay the extra money or I am sure they would not have delivered my belongings to the UK. Finally I found that I was missing one box when my belongings were delivered to the UK. This box contained antiques and was probably the most valuable box in the shipment, by some incredible stroke of fate this is the box that is missing. I spent months planning this move to no avail. Robinsons turned it into a nightmare.
Hidden costs, late delivery, damaged items, missing items.
The experience wasn't all bad, but it was telling that Robinson's US-based partners - Graebel - were far more friendly, and far, far more efficient. The second star is because they packed the container incredibly efficiently, barely leaving a space at all - which was brilliant. However, numerous items have gone missing, several items were damaged, (including some seemingly invincible items!). Detailing all the hidden costs would take too long, but we ended up paying almost 15% more than the initial quote. Oh, and the delivery was so delayed, it was almost twice the estimate.. why? Because, having been rushed to the dock, it then sat on the dock for almost three weeks, then got placed on the wrong ship. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Brilliant - Highly Recommended.
The team were charming, diligent and hard working. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. They are a highly professional bunch conducting detailed surveys beforehand to ensure that things ran smoothly on the day. They team asked if they could arrive earlier than scheduled. They treated my property with respect and caused no damage.

We had an excellent experience with Robinsons and was therefore quite suprised when I saw an earlier review to the contrary. For our own experience we have moved several times to various parts of the world and have come to trust Robinsons with our move every time since first using them back in the 90's. Our latest move to the USA was as good as to what we have come to expect. The salesperson was punctual, polite, on time and helped inform us as to what to expect, what we could get into our 20ft container. The price was a little more than others that we asked to quote, but it was competitive, in line with others and we believe you get what you pay for. The crew who did the work arrived on time, they were just excellent, made it fun even and we suffered no damage which is testament to the level of workmanship that they put in to make our things safe for the 4,500 mile journey that our belongings took. The customer service team at Robinsons were informative, supportive and helped us with our paperwork, getting all of the necessary documents and lodging them with the customs authorities. We really couldn't be happier. Even the delivery crew over here were impressed with the quality of the work and mentioned that a well packed job makes an easy job for them to deliver. We will be returning in 3 years and I look forward to asking Robinsons again.
Robinsons Relocation a Rubbish Removal Company Stay Away!!
WORST REMOVAL COMPANY..STAY AWAYI feel that I have been a victim of poor and unprofessional service.I had a bitter experience with this company from day one; the sales manager who came to visit my apartment made all sorts of false promises and showed me a presentation on the iPad which showed what "good care" they would take of our personal items, but when I saw how the packing was done I got scared and even increased my insurance! I sent them several emails complaining about the goods being handled in a rough way, but to no avail. I had to reschedule another collection as their "professional" staff forgot to pick certain items which were on the list.My belongings were taken from my place and I was not even given a packing list, I had to chase them for this list several times.Then there was an error made in filling the shipping documents, which caused our shipment to be stuck in customs for 2 months, meaning we had to stay in a hotel this entire time! Low and behold, no compensation was offered for the inconvenience and expenses incurred.Our frist Christmas in India was ruined as we eventually received our belongings on the 23rd of December.It was not just one thing but the whole experience has been so bitter that I would never recommend this company to anyone!
Absolute disgrace.
After some research I thought I had picked a reputable company to handle my international relocation. I could not have been more wrong.
While the price tag is definitely among the highest in the market, once the upfront payment has been made things go VERY quiet indeed. The so-called "dedicated move manager" is producing more out of office replies that actual emails, let alone providing a service.
Robinsons are effectovely holding my personal belongings hostage and for several weeks now have been either unwilling or unable to confirm if and when they intend to complete the removal. I am now considering legal action to recover my personal belongings from their warehouse.
It is beyond belief that a company like this is still in business.
