  1. Moving to London, Uk

    Dishonest

In their form to delivery the move, all payed to the destination, they asked if the address had space to park a van of a size of two cars, I said yes, and by the way, one step from the parking space to the place to drop all the boxes, that easy. However, they sent a big truck with 2 big containers to the central London, and my move was only half of one container. I have pictures to proof. Hence, where is possible to park a big truck like this in central london????? No where! Therefore, the traffic in the area was disrupted and we quickly moved my boxes from one of the container to inside their Van (the one refereed in their form), and the Van drove literally 30 meters, cos would be easy and quickly than carrying boxes and had kept the big truck disrupting the local traffic. So now they are charging me this extra shuttle!!! Wondering if it was my fault?????!!!

On top of that, they also charged another fee due to the Increase on haulage charges, which was another £308 , as a surprise. But I’ve wrongly paid for that. unacceptable. Not trustworthy company.

  2. Excellent service - Recommended

I previously used Santa Fe when I moved to London and received excellent service. I wanted to use them again to return back to Houston. The service again was excellent, with my expectations met. Would highly recommend them to any of my friends, family and colleagues.

  3. STAY AWAY!

I saw the MANY negative reviews of Santa Fe Relocation online, but decided to go with them anyway, as I was in a desperate situation due to the pandemic. I have regretted that decision many times since.

The communication was bad from the beginning. I was assigned 3-4 different contact people who did not communicate between them, meaning that I had to spend hours giving the same information to people in the same company. I was also promised pick up on a specific date, which was a condition to me paying the deposit. I was informed that everything was in order. However, a few days before the pick up, I was informed by another person that this would not be possible and that I needed to be flexible.

Furthermore, they refused to deliver at the agreed delivery date even though I had paid. When they finally delivered, they did not unpack as agreed and I had to pay to get all the packing materials removed. Furthermore, many items were broken.

  4. HORRIBLE - Never use Santa Fe

I have moved internationally 6 times and used various companies. Please NEVER use Santa Fe. They are the worst I have ever used. I will never use them again. They are absolutely crooks in my opinion. I used Santa Fe to move from California to Mexico City. I gave extremely detailed info including all items, all item sizes, and photos of everything - they told me they never got such great info. They quoted $7700 all inclusive. I insisted they put the estimated arrival date in the quote before I agreed to pay as this was critical. They were to pick up on Dec 30 and deliver by Jan 14 with a buffer until maximum delivery of Jan 25 only in case problems in customs. They told me my volume would fill up half a container so would be combined with another container already scheduled to cross the border Jan 4. So definitely my stuff would cross the border Jan 4. On the packing day they took FOREVER and packed up with so much extraneous stuff that they artificially increased the volume. And then even though I sent photos of the TV mounted on a wall, they claimed they needed to charge me extra $150 to unmount it. After my stuff was in their warehouse and too late for me to use another company they claimed they had to increase my fee by $1058 USD because they had artificially increased the volume in their horrible packing. Then they delayed my shipment to cross the border completely on their side for no reason at all until Jan 25!! My stuff didnt even cross the border until Jan 25 - it only took 1 day and 1 day later it was in Mexico city, but then they refused to deliver to my apartment until Feb 5. I was calling every day and emailing and they were telling me lies the whole time that my stuff had already started customs when it had not. I started trying to escalate higher and higher in the company, begging them to either speed up or offer a discount for their poor service. They refused to do anything to help. When my stuff arrived on Feb 5 to my apartment the crew refused to help with anything. Even though I had paid for them to pack and unpack everything, the arrival crew only brought things up to my apartment. I was the one that had to unwrap everything, I was the one that had to put together the furniture, and I was the one that had to clean up the trash from the packing - they absolutely refused to do anything. And several items ended up broken from their terrible service. Even though I had paid $500 of move insurance which was supposed to cover up to $200K USD of damage, they informed me I was unlikely to get anything for that and some insane process that needed to be completed or they wont cover anything. Then I tried to ask for a receipt of everything I had paid at least - I had been asking for that since early January - took them 6 weeks to even provide a receipt - and then it was wrong. I had to tell them what I paid and tell them how to write a receipt. Again, I requested any kind of discount, and they refused. Horrible service. I highly caution you against using this awful company.

  5. Never more...

Hello everyone, For me, departure from Paris, France, to Las Vegas NV. It is very difficult to find a serious company. For my part, I tried AGS: from the first appointment I fired them.

The "saler" arrives late and barely the open box tells me "in a 40 feet, it does not fit". For a box of 160 sq feet? really?

I tried another one, whose name I forgot, who wanted to sell me two 40-feet containers. The joke.

I tried Grospiron (FR), they looked serious though a bit expensive and I ended up signing with Santafé. I better break my leg...

Once the contract is signed (for a 20-foot "lead" container) it is another person with whom you are in contact and of course no one else.

The container (20 feet, by the way...) was not full and well sealed at the start, after threats to make a complain in justice, because this gentleman (Amza, to name him)

wanted to put my stuff in "big wooden boxes" and not in a container. As a result, arriving in Los Angeles after customs clearance,

they unfolded and transferred into "big wooden boxes". In fact these moving companies lease the containers and the less time they lease it, for win more.

. But your business, that they all boast to take care of it, as if it were theirs, to be careful... blablabla,

in fact, they don’t give a damn, only money interests them. Your life’s stuff, the most important to you or your children,

they don’t care. Our cartons have been handled by who knows who (in times of covid...) all the cartons damaged, torn, fragile cardboard boxes below,

the heavyweights above... etc. A real disaster. Obviously I have pictures in support. Do not look for insurance, they are "absent subscribers". And since you are abroad, everyone is counting on you to do nothing. I wanted to share with you my sad experience and I am not the only one. In any case avoid absolutely SantaFé. Absolutely not pro. And I’m not talking about the TWW Move company in Texas (Shelly the liar) that made the job in the USA.

They want to make the 20 feet travel in 40’feet and wooden boxes. That way they save money everywhere. one person to load and unload

with an elevator. Application fees only for one trip, customs fees, idem, etc... One last tip, take a lot of photos during loading with lead number, container number, etc and also on arrival, lead number,

container number, as they interchange with another container. And of course unloading. That’s not simple or easy, but very expensive.

    Generally don’t think they’re selling a move, they’re selling a volume that you’re moving. That’s the difference.

  6. Very poor experience - Do not recommend

Very poor experience with Santa Fe. Misalignment of information and bad management of dates. It will take 28 days to move (road) 15m3 over a distance of 2350km (within EU zone). Google tells me if I had a carriage and a horse would be faster :(. Employees justify that's due to the time of the year however Amazon can deliver me 300m3 of products in the same distance range in 3 working days. Now I moved country, have no clothes, no desk, no chair, no screens or any of my personal belongings ( No one informed me they were unable to meet the suggested delivery date of 7 days). If I knew the poor service from Santa Fe I would rather rented a Van and drive by myself. If this is the best service a relocation company can offer they should really consider changing their core business.

  7. Non reliable company.

Be very cautious in dealing with this company (move India to Belgium):

    1. They "sub"contract their moving services to very cheap non known companies in Belgium that are not compliant with COVID-19 government measures (no masks, no gloves, no desinfection products) and their sub-contracted movers have to work under a "very tight time schedule" (not even a proper inventory of arrival to count/tick the boxes on packing list was done - boxes were lifted to 15th floor and directly unpacked so very difficult to check whether all boxes were there) and you might lose items under packing materials because they have to unpack very very quickly. I luckily had my mask and desinfection product. I insisted they could only come back to unpack remaining goods when fully compliant with COVID-19 government measures. They use pressure on you by saying big elevator is there and reserved (move was on 15th floor), staff of 4 people is mobilized so that you cannot send them home.

    2. Avoid doing insurance with them and make sure you request all insurance conditions & terms BEFORE contracting. They rely on their own handyman to do the expertise of damaged goods. When your goods are damaged they use the small letters of the contract and manipulated report by handyman to avoid any liability. I paid roughly 175€/month storage insurance for a small container. Roughly after one year storage and shipment protection insurance in total something of 3000€ - 3500€ insurance fees. All - but luckily only - my big furniture was broken with cracks, in departure inspection report no mention was made of any of the damages, however they will find excuses by saying it is "old furniture" when antique pieces, "normal wear and tear" or due to "climate changes" when in fact it was not properly packed. They find their way out to not cover your damages and make it extremely difficult to claim your rights as per insurance contract. So just to conclude when you think your goods are insured by them against damages due to move/storage, be sure at the end it is not.

    3. Whole their insurance and legal services are outsourced to UK so no contactpoint in Belgium. You have to deal over email with their reps in UK directly. If you consider legal steps they make reference to Shipment Protection Insurance + Storage insurance governed exclusively as per "UK Law and UK Courts". This while full storage was in Belgium and move was contracted by Belgian Gvt and their Belgian based (post box) office, administratively subcontracting moves and outsourcing insurance claims.

    4. At the end they make it so difficult for you to claim your insurance rights, so you just give it up. Like was mentionned in another complaint: "Do yourself a favor and avoid Santa Fe unless you don’t care for your belongings and/or love playing an endless game of administrative cat and mouse."

    5. In order to avoid others have the same bad experience I took the time just to warn you. If you do your move in/to Belgium there are much more reliant and professional companies to deal with. So avoid this kind of non reliable (post box) companies based in Belgium that just take a big commission and outsource everything such as moving services/insurances to low cost service providers.

  8. The worst removal company.

Having done many removals I must say this company was the worst I've ever had.

Many broken stuff due to the poor packing. No unpacking service at all. They left most of the boxes unpacked. At least 2 full boxes disappeared with many items including an unique picture. No removal procedure follows (i.e. they did not give us the inventory list to check/sign at departure..) Be careful using this company.

  9. Dishonest practices.

We relocated from Singapore to Europe.

After loading our container it was sealed, as can be expected. We later found out that the container was then opened, other customers household (Belgian customer) was loaded, and re-sealed.

This was evidenced by a document we inadvertedly received, where Santa Fe signed on shipper's (me!) behalf for importation of the goods.

So officially I imported goods I had no knowledge of!!

Not only that, they tried to get extra money claiming we needed a high-load container - yet there was room left in our container they subsequently sold (I assume) to another customer.

I appreciate anyone optimising their processes, but not in a dishonest way.

  10. Very satisfied.

Santa Fe made my move incredibly easy and worry free. They accommodated some unusual needs I had and everything went smoothly. I plan to recommend them to anyone who asks for a good international mover.

  11. Calgary to Houston move.

My company uses Santa Fe to relocate employees. I must say my experience overall was okay but customer service does not exist here.
Unfortunately I was not there when they came to pack my things. Most of my things were packed well but two boxes had things just thrown into them and one painting was not packed correctly. The frame on the painting broke and as others have mentioned the insurance is of no use. If you use this company buy insurance for a third party if you can. They find every loophole to not pay you. I went back and forth with them for two weeks over $350. Yes that's it - $350. My company had bought $10,000 worth of insurance and they still wouldn't cover it.

The unpacking went well they arrived on time and worked very quickly. As I said the move was done well just don't buy insurance from the company moving you - they will find a way out.

  12. Huge disappointment!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!! We contracted Santa Fe to move our family of 6 from Northern CA to London, UK. We were promised "door to door service." Our belongings were frantically packed up in CA by a large crew, and then disappeared! I called and emailed Santa Fe for 2 straight weeks and was completely ignored - no one picked up the phone, no one responded to my emails, and no one attempted to contact me. We never received a copy of the inventory. We finally received a call 2 weeks later from the Country Manager of the Americas, Braxton Dailey, who told me that our moving coordinator had quit and at this point it was prohibitively expensive to insure our shipment (she did not insure it prior to it leaving). I let this slide, and hoped everything would arrive safely.

Our shipment arrived late, and they charged us demurrage charges. Again, I was willing to overlook this. Finally, our stuff arrived and I signed off for every box. We discovered a week or so later that ALL of our power tools are missing - thousands of dollars in power tools! I contacted Santa Fe and was told that there is nothing they will do because I signed off on all the boxes. What do you do when the items ARE NOT IN THE BOXES?? This is clearly a case of theft, and Santa Fe has essentially told me that it's my fault.

"Door to door service" implies that they will be responsible for getting ALL of my belongings safely from one place to the next. When a category of items does not end up in the boxes, that is clearly the fault of the movers!

I would absolutely never recommend using Santa Fe - their customer service is horrible! It would have been so easy for them to apologize and make this right, but instead, they are blaming the customer. SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISAPPOINTING.

  13. Make sure you do not rely on their expertise - it is very limited!

I am hugely disappointed by the lack of expertise shown by Sante Fe. Their packing team who are apparently experts closely looked over and packed 4 bikes that had dust on them. My husband pulled 3 off the truck and unpacked them to clean them but was unaware of the fourth that I had added. It, like the others had no caked on dirt but did have a coating of dust around the wheels and spokes etc .. but not more than you would get on the soles of your shoes that you might wear on the plane so because it was raining, I made a quick decision that turned out to be wrong. The bike got pulled up by Australian Quarantine and the charge I was quoted by Sante Fe was $110 to destroy the bike or $220 to clean it (note the other three had been hosed down and sponged with a little detergent so not a difficult clean). I appreciate that they have to deliver the bike to the cleaning company but having shipped items home before and handling it all myself, all those companies are centrally located so delivery and treating the dirty water should not be that much (I find it hard to believe that destroying a bike is half the price of cleaning it!). Despite the manager stating that they did not charge a profit, Australian Quarantine said that the charge was up to the broker and Sante Fe staff had already confirmed that. So, Sante Fe charges for their 'expertise' and then profits from their lack of it.
P.S. As for the rest of the relocation, it was nothing more than I could have done myself so I would definitely save your money, time and the hassle and do it yourself!

  14. Never again.

I don't know how this company received such good reviews. My experience of moving from the Netherlands to Australia and from the Netherlands to Germany (one big complex move with several parts) was abysmal. The so-called coordination office gets paid handsomely for its 'service", but in actual fact does little coordination, at least none which would actually make the move smoother and less stressful. My experience with the 'coordination office' was: messy communication, mixed messages to me and packing crews, constantly having to go back over what was in the contract and paid for, etc. The only good part were some of the moving crews, which on the whole were friendly, professional and did a good job getting my things here in one piece. But overall this has been such a messy and stressful experience that I will certainly never use Santa Fe again.

  15. Sana.

Avoid at all cost. Avoid avoid avoid. These guys are unresponsive and do not care about your time constraints. I have contacted these guys over 10 times this week. After the initial call and telling them I am moving overseas and need quotes they have yet to get back to me. I called and asked to speak with someone other than who I was previously dealing with and they sent me to the same person. Either these people really just don't care or there is a serious organizational issue. Either-way, I would not trust my valuables with them.
