  1. Terrible planing & communication.

    I hired this company to move my car and 2 crates of household because of moving back from USA to Germany. First I have to say I am very glad I received the car. the crates are still on the way.
    My recommendation to anyone doing business with them: do agree upfront on installments. Never pay upfront! Have them commit on a delivery date! once they have your money, communication goes down to 0! I felt during the transport of my car from the day they picked it up helpless. they had the car, they had the car title and nobody can really tell you when the car will really be shipped. what they don't tell you on the homepage is that when you transport your car by container, they will hold your car on a parking lot until they have another customer with a car to fill the container. Means your car will be on an exterior parking lot until they have another car to be sent from the seaport to the exact same Destination as yours. so my car was picked up 6/19 and was not loaded on a ship until 6-7weeks later! When calling them and asking for ETA they will tell you over weeks still waiting for another car to fill the container. Same happned by the way with my other goods packed in crates. today 9/2/2017 I only know they arrived in Hamburg (they picked them up in USA on 6/19).. again here nobody is telling you it might happen that you will have to wait until they fill a full container.. by the way: once my goods arrived at the seaport in Germany, Schumacher did not feel anymore responsible and I had to send all necessary documentation again to their subcontractor which really did an awesome job in terms of service, communication, etc. Be also aware that custom inspection cost were charged without proof they really happened and they clearly tell you if you don't pay - you wont get the car.. I absolutely helpless once they picked up the car - at the end I am happy I have my car back and I don't even bother to claim the little damage caused by the transport. they are not professional! stay away from them! Do not assume your goods will be delivered soon if you are not filling a full container!

    We used Schumacher to move from LA to Portugal. The sales contacts were very reactive and professional. The team did an outstanding job to pack all our goods. Everything was perfectly fine when we unpacked. The price was very good too and all contacts were easy. We highly recommend this company.

    I used Schumacher for my move from NY to Ireland in January. My contact sales representative was Christopher Licalsi. He was courteous, professional and made me feel comfortable about my shipping requirements. So a big 'thank you' to Chris for my decision in choosing this company. I later dealt with Tina Mesik who was also very helpful. My door to door experience ran smoothly. I would highly recommend this company.

  4. International Move from Oregon to UK.

    I shipped 17 boxes and one crate containing a digital piano from Oregon to Lowestoft in the UK and I cannot speak too highly of the help and support I received from this company and, based on my experience, have no hesitation in recommending them.
    Moving is a stressful experience at the best of times but an international move with all of the other factors involved is one of the most traumatic. The staff at Shumarcher Cargo made it easy for me guiding me through all the necessary steps. They sent craftsman to build a crate for my piano which was a work of art and fitted like a glove. They advised me it would be cheaper to use U Haul to take my things to their depot but when I explained age and infirmity prevented me doing that they kindly gave me a discount of $250 on the collection fee. Everything was collected as agreed and I traveled on to the UK.
    After several weeks I was contacted by their agent in the UK who introduced herself and informed when when my shipment was due to dock and how long it would take to clear customs etc. When the boxes and crate arrived at my house they were all present and correct and in perfect condition. They unpacked the piano for me and it was in the same pristine condition as when it left Oregon. I have since unpacked all of the boxes, which I had packed myself, and everything was in excellent condition, no damage or breakages even among fragile wine glasses and computer equipment.
    All that remains is for me to thank the staff of this company and their associates for making my move a pleasurable experience.

    I strongly advise against using this company service.

    Used them in 2015. Everything went fine in the beginning.
    Good customer service, advisible agent and everything was smoothly prepared.

    The chaos began when the car was shipped. They totaly lost control of the shipment.
    Car was shipped to different port then agreed with a big delay and all additional costs were passed to me.

    Changing port destination resulted in
    - higher port costs
    - additional documentation cost (T1 documents)
    - additional transportation fees by land to another country
    - delay in time
    - documents lost for a couple of days
    - lots of stress

    After changing the port destination they did not even have a reliable company to take care of the transport.
    They changed it after realizing it will cost them a little bit more money. This resulted in documents being stucked.

    The documents deliver was delayed because of Schumacher poor and cheap handling which resulted
    in again me having to cover additional costs.

    I had to chase the transpor vendors by myself and track my car documents to find out that they sent it with regular cheap mail..

    The car delivery to customs needed to be delayed thenas I needed to get the documents first..
    Car secure parking costs for a couple of days were passed to me again.

    Car delivery took them 3 months in total.

    After many complains they agreed to cover some of the additional costs but NEVER DID just ignored my further complains.

    Amateur handling.
    After the car is shipped they do not care anymore and will only think about reducing their costs at the expense of the client.

  6. Friendly, Responsive & Competitive.

    We brought about 1 bedroom worth of goods and a vehicle. From start to finish these guys were a pleasure to work with. Steve in their NJ office was always happy to help and when he could talk to us over the phone. Email was best with the time change but always a quick turn around. Their pickup crew did an amazing job packing and handling our goods in NSW in short time and we couldn't have asked for a better team on delivery day. No breakages, can't thank them enough.

  7. "lost" 3 of 23 boxes.

    Schumacher logistics I shipped 23 boxes of household goods with Schumacher from the US to the UK. They took several weeks longer than planned, charged me for extra checks and services not in the original quote twice and then lost three of my very large wardrobe boxes. They noticed the three boxes were missing two weeks before scheduled delivery to me and did not notify me. At the time of writing (three weeks later) they are still lost.

  8. Disgraceful dishonest practises.

    Will never use this company again, would not recommend them and anyone shipping should check carefully that this company is not your shippers agents. I have shipped from Europe via another shipper to discover this company was handling my goods on USA soil. But they refuse to deliver goods unless I pay thousands of extra $'s in hidden fees.  The staff have lied, concocted emails to make it look like they have previously invoiced us. when it comes right down to it, it's extortion in its ugliest form!  I am quite evidently not the first to experience this from them! and will not be the last, but people need to know this stuff, read and take advise on all contracts even if you don't have the time or the knowledge, it could save you thousands! Use companies that have a good all round review! Not like this company, stay well away from them.
