  1. Don't use Simpsons it's a fraud.

    Hired Simpsons to move my stuff from London to Houston Texas. Initially I paid total money for the service, after 4 months they asked me more money to use faster service to start shipment, which I paid. After 7 months my stuff was still in their warehouse in London, have to hire another company to transport. I am not able to get my money back, been told they went into liquidation. All along they knew they were not going to provide the service but still they agreed and charged me money twice. Initially I took legal route but they declared themselves as bankrupt. Noticed their website is still active and doing business. Please avoid don't believe and don't use this company.

    THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND DISHONEST. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOU WON'T GET A REFUND. AFTERWARDS THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT THEY WERE PLACED UNDER LIQUIDATION. We paid them to move our furniture from London to Cape Town. After 6 months I had to get another company to ship our goods as they had kept it at their warehouse the entire time. They don't respond to emails or phone calls. Lost almost £3000. Very unprofessional and our goods were not even professionally wrapped. I would rather do business with Somali pirates than these dishonest people. They deserve no stars at all. Reported them to Trading Standards. They dishonestly took my money knowing that they were not able to ship my goods. In my opinion this is clearly criminal behaviour which should be investigated by the police.

    They are pirate not removal company
    My furniture removed on the 28th of December and not even loaded yet in UK.

    Now they asking me ransom to release the items if I want to finish the removal with another company. Simply they are holding the items as hostage and twisting my arm to pay them 2K.

  4. I do not recommend this ompany.

    In short do not use this firm as per the other reviews. We moved from UK to Germany in summer 2018. They seemed professional at first and provided quotes and information as requested. We ended up moving less volume than we thought but were told it was not a problem that volume was always check on arrival at their depot and any discrepanices would be sorted out. As we sent less than quoted for we were due money back. I am still waiting for that money that they have told us they would pay and are just not. They wont answer the phone, they are a nightmare to deal with, they give endless empty promises. I am now taking legal action to sort this out.

  5. 3 month delay.

    Moved from California to Berlin
    I'm going to be short: DO NOT HIRE. I did unknowingly only because this company was appointed by my international moving company from LA. I won't hire myself even though I do have another move coming up.


    Originally moving from LA to Berlin. I had to switch Germany for Spain because my goods have been sitting in Simpson's warehouse for 3 MONTHS (+2 months traveling by ship from abroad) and I'm now 5 months pregnant and alone to unload!! But as I was advised by email, this wouldn't affect the delivery date.


    The best part? There's still NO SCHEDULED DELIVERY and there is no way I can unload by myself when I'm.. 6.. 7.. who knows!! BECAUSE THERE'S NO SCHEDULED DELIVERY YET. My family lives in Spain, hence the change, so that I can have the help I shouldn't have needed, had I received my goods in a timely fashion.


    The reason they give me? There are no trucks available. How on Earth you're a moving company, and for months you don't know when your trucks are scheduled to come back from their current trips?


    I will now be moving all of my partner's things from Berlin to Spain too, and will definitely not consider hiring Simpsons if I'm not given an actual delivery date for my goods and check that all my stuff is in correct order. 5 MONTHS in total have my things been traveling the world, when I was given an 8 week quote. I've had to buy a lot of things again.


    Horrendous experience. Nerve wracking. Unfair.

  6. Terrible company and attitude!

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We have dozens of interactions with service companies every week, online and off line. We normally don’t spend any energy on poor customer service, and we are generally very flexible and pragmatic. This experience just went too far, at every interaction.

    We have moved internationally 5 times, never have we dealt with a more unprofessional, unreliable and rude company. Their staff are “brainwashed” by the owners, take no accountability, don’t show any empathy and don’t find any solutions to their self inflicted problems.

    On the surface, Simpsons Removals and Storage appears to be a “well family run business" that sets a pride in delivering high quality service. But in reality only until the contract is signed and the deposit is paid; from then on they did NOT care about us as customers. Then it is all about maximising their revenue!

    Mark Lockett, one of their surveyors, did the site survey, and he sold in the company very well. But beware, what he was selling in, the company could not deliver against. Mark was completely out of reach when issues started to occur. We asked to speak to him more than 10 times to confront him with his promises, but he never called back or responded on internal messages. Max Oughera in the sales department did not care, he referred to the terms and conditions and was rude and patronising.

    PRICE MATCH
    Simpsons Removals and Storage cheat you when they price match a competitor price by lowering the volume, because they always invoice the customer for the actual volume they pick up! Their explanation was, we thought you were getting rid of some of your things, which was never the case, we updated them during the process on what changes had been made from the survey was done to the actual packing day. So no surprise for them really. When issues occur you are dealing with different people, no one takes responsibilities for what was agreed up front, it does not help when they do not get back on e-mails or phone calls. We have had more than 90+ e-mails to deal with them on this international move.

    RESPONSIBILITY & ATTITUDE
    Simpsons Removals and Storage promised a delivery date prior to signing the contract, when deposit was paid, a van had broken down, then a second van breaks down the 5 days lead time increases to 10 and 30 days, they do not compensate you – again they refer to terms and conditions, it is all your problem, when you choose to do a part load service …. According to them, they have no responsibility, when the vans keep breaking down …

    How they approach it is completely unacceptable, most companies in such a situation will try to do what they can, but Simpsons Removals and Storage refers to terms and conditions, it is YOUR problem and not theirs. They lack understanding that they deal with people’s things and not knowing when your household items will arrive will put unnecessary stress on a family and especially children. We had to reach out to the owner of the company in order for them to take responsibility of our situation. At the end 85% of our household was delivered after 10 days and the rest 15% was delivered 6 weeks later. Simpsons Removals and Storage were not able to share what was among the 85% of the first shipment and they did not notify us until the day prior to delivery. They treat you with no respect.

    PACKING
    Expensive items were badly packed – or not at all, our expensive dining table was wrapped in a cloth and of course was damaged at arrival. Our Montana wooden box furniture, were not wrapped at all and were all scratched and damaged at arrival.

    PREMIUM INSURANCE
    We paid a premium insurance, but quite time consuming to deal with the insurance company, as they try to get away with the bare minimum, they kept saying that our damaged dining table could be repaired, despite the manufacturer had the opposite opinion. Then they said our dining table was scratched, as the moving crew had made a note of this, despite we had pictures of the dining table just before it was moved out of the house. Do not expect it will be an easy ride to claim anything.

    All in all an extremely stressful period, dealing with an unprofessional and rude company. We would not recommend anyone to use them or the insurance company.

  7. Simpsons Removals And Storage. Just. Don't. Use. Ever..

    Horrendous! Dreadful from (almost) the start - lies and cover ups, stuff missing too from my move from UK to France. Given my treatment from Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd., and despite the fact I took out extra insurance, I just know to go after them for damages and loss will result in nothing. Two
    months later (you can imagine it takes a while to fully unpack - plus I'm running a business) I'm still discovering lots of missing items!!
    Simpsons MUST be aware of unclaimed items knocking about. I guess they have staff who have lucked out and claimed part of MY HAUL.
    The packers were appalling - one of the Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. Packing Staff's opening line was "I have to get this done quick, as I've got an interview for another job
    later". Their behaviour and language was an absolute disgrace. The 'surveyor' wildly underestimated my load..lets call him "Tom Thetford" as that's his name. Clearly, looking back, the quote given to me was clearly designed to win the business. I was lulled by the patter, and then TOM declined to stand by his initial conversation and I was told by his boss that TOM was
    'upset'!! Ha, I doubt he was as upset as I was!! The quote which arrived by email was even less than Tom Thetford's verbal account when we met at my storage unit - a storage unit which gave a clear indication of what I had to pack onto his lorry..

    There were items NOT in the storage unit and I told the
    surveyor TOM what they were - INCLUDING precise DIMENSIONS of a pool table.
    Just before I signed another member of staff assured me "the more you have the cheaper it is"; - this turned out to be rubbish. The final invoice was almost twice the original quote with extra insurance on top. Lots of to-ing and fro-ing of emails, especially with the staff member who hooked me - lets call "Ersin" ; as that is his name - and I actually received an email
    (in error) from Ersin's superior telling Ersin NOT to contact me!! - Professional - er, NOT.
    Then Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. lied about delivery and I had given them well over a months notice - nearly two months really. I would never have booked if I felt they couldn't accept my 5 day window for delivery. But they waited until I was in France and then calmly told me (on email only) that "two lorries were broken down"; and my delivery was
    now June 6th!! It should be noted that I have since been told by a staff member that this wasn't the case with the lorries!!
    It is my belief they took on too much work, and decided to shift my dates to suit themselves.
    So, the delivery was cancelled for two weeks, leaving me stranded in France with nothing for my house or new business. I requested on April 10th to deliver my possessions between 23rd and 26th May..lots of mutterings about how this "should be OK"; Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. cancelled - by
    email - on 22nd May. They set a new date of June 6th and this was missed by 24 hours as Head Office sent my delivery guys on another job! Instead of me the guys were sent (past me) to South of France and then back up.. making it
    impossible for them to get to me on the day.

    A disaster from start to finish - DO NOT USE!!

    I didn't believe a word they said after a while. They let me
    down hugely and I would never have signed up had I known the parameters. Make sure when you book with a company that you lock down dates..do not believe "it should be OK".
    Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. were an expensive mistake. I have friends moving into mainland Europe, and I am making sure they all know to dodge Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. totally and warn others of the same.

    Of course, they gave me the option to cancel - by which time they had my deposit and all my possessions in a lock up in Dartford, so it would have cost me to repatriate it back to my storage unit.
    Ah. memories flooding back of what
    was an excruciating and terrible experience with Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd.

    'Removals' - yes, some of my items for good. Storage - yes..but not everything, some items they were in charge of storing grew legs and wandered off!!

    As I am in contact with many people moving between France and UK and back again - I am spreading the word. DON't USE SIMPSONS Removals And Storage Limited.

    "Limited" seems a singularly appropriate phrase.

    Even this ridiculous review doesn't cover all the towns or
    counties - so I have had to put the nearest in - Guildford to Bordeaux. For the sake of clarity it was Camberley, UK to Les Alleuds, France.

  8. Simpsons..Just don't. Use. Ever.

    I have written a review already. I feel for Jane and Alison and others who have very similar disastrous stories about Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd. Even the same terrible and unprofessional members of staff have been named.

    Simpsons actually said to me that Tom Thetford- the "surveyor" was really upset!! Hahaaaa - really Tom Thetford? - not as upset as all the customers you have taken for a long, slow, painful financial ride!!

    Happily I am on several French and UK forums due to the nature of my hospitality business in France - so I am spreading the word - "Simpsons; just don't.." far and very, very wide!!

    Jane, I did take out premium insurance - but given the pathetic team at Simpsons were too lazy and in a hurry to get to their next job/interview/fag break..they labelled most of my stuff on the inventory "BOX" - despite each box being labelled with contents by me!!

    For the sake of clarity it was Camberley to Les Alleuds, France.

    This review panel seems to think there are only 10 towns in France - and Guildford is the closest to where my items were collected.

    It pains me that nearly three months later I am still discovering missing boxes. It takes a long time to unpack - especially when I am running two businesses in and from France.

    Ooooh, nearly forgot to mention, because Simpsons lied about the delivery date "probably being no problem" - again TOM THETFORD'S words.. and then moving it, and then sending my delivery guys to the very South of France at the last minute making the third date of delivery also impossible..I had to turn paying guests away at a loss to me of £1000. Hey Simpsons Removals & Storage Ltd ("limited" being the operative word!!) - do you think I can claim that back on my Premium Insurance..??

  9. Appalling service. DO NOT USE.

    Shocking service! I was sold a load of lies to win the business. I trusted this company and they failed to get our personal belongings we’ve worked long and hard for from A to B without breaking them despite being paid over £3000. Their get out clause “you didn’t take premium insurance”..the fundamental part of your job is to adequately pack items securely so they do not break and get them to their destination in one piece! Customer service appalling. Customer complaints non existent. Nobody cares. They’ve got their money end of. DO NOT USE THEM. Any review you see that is good, can only be a lie!
