  1. We never got our things

    I urge you use caution before considering Sky Van Lines for a long distance move. While we were initially impressed with their service and communication, this quickly changed after our items were picked up. While we were promised an average 1-14 business day delivery, we've received no updates along the way even after calling multiple times. Tobias continuously says he will update us when he knows more and that they are expecting a truck back soon. For a moving company to not have any idea when they will be receiving a truck and when shipments will be going out is concerning. This is logistics 101. We're now on business day 12 and after calling Tobias again, he let us know it will likely be another 10+ business days but that anything could happen to delay this further. He continued to say that 1-14 business days is an average and not a guarantee, but one would be right to assume that 25+ business days would not be the expectation if 1-14 business days is the "average."

    Upon further investigation, we've determined most of the Google reviews to be fake accounts using celebrity photos. Seriously, look for yourself, you might see some familiar faces. Most of the "reviewers" are ranked as Local Guides but all of their other reviews are hidden. As someone who works in marketing, I am very familiar with this scheme to inflate a business's reputation. It's unethical, illegal and we feel deceived. Under 15 U.S. Code § 45, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the power to stop and penalize parties “using unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce.” This makes it a crime to break official rules imposed by the FTC. And the FTC forbids the use of fake testimonials.

    When I mentioned this revelation to Tobias, he quickly got defensive and hung up on me. I would urge others to look into the other long-distance moves by Sky Van Lines on Google and Yelp and you will see a similar story to mine. For now, we're at their mercy as they have our belongings, and we can't help but feel we were robbed and deceived.

  2. HORRIBLE COMAPY

    I moved from Vegas to Washington due to the pandemic.. Majority of my items were broken, cracked or damaged. A entire box full of my most expensive items ironically went missing. They also pressured me into giving them a tip as if the move wasn’t already costly enough they add charges as they go and label nothing. Do not waste your money find someone who will do a reliable job. I regret picking them.. Once I expressed my concern nobody ever got back to me either as I anticipated. I will say they were extremely nice over the phone until the job was done then not so pleasant of course.

  3. Terrible Customer Service - Missing and Damaged Items

    I was planning my first cross country move and I did quite a bit of research on moving companies prior to making a decision. Sky Van Lines had excellent customer service, great reviews, excellent prices.. everything to make me very secure in my move. Initially, I opted for a partial pack and move with insurance, after a couple of days of thinking about it, I called back and requested a full pack and move with insurance. Tobias was my representative and was very willing to help. He asked me to complete an insurance form listing all items included in the move that is valued at more than $100 per pound. I completed the form listing my valuables (shoes, bags, handbags, jewelry, etc.), a day or two goes by and Tobias calls me and recommends I get additional insurance for the items I listed as these items will not be covered in their insurance. No big deal...

    Moving day, no real hiccups. My items were scheduled to be delivered anywhere from 2 - 8 weeks, thankfully the delivery was within 3 weeks. Upon delivery and unpacking is where this move went sideways.

    1. Office Desk - destroyed. Broken in half

    2. 3 boxes of Coach Jewelry had the jewelry ripped out of the boxes

    3. Coach card wallet missing

    4. Floor Lamp arrived with a dented base

    5. Floor Lamp arrived bent

    6. Wall Clock decor was broken

    7. Wall Cabinet - stress Cracks on the side

    8. Dresser was packed with items in the drawers, making the drawers difficult to open

    9. Dresser - Stress cracks

    10. Chess Drawers to bed installed incorrectly

    11. Aquarium packed with lamp, mulch, and heating pad - Lamp and Lightbulb were broken, mulch EVERYWHERE.

    Item 1, 2 & 3 were found immediately, it was a weekend, so I left a message for Tobias regarding my concern. Tobias called me back on Monday and this Tobias was no longer the friendly Tobias I previously encountered. Tobias would not acknowledge that this could happen with his company. He stated in all the years they have been in business, not one customer has had an item stolen or missing. I understand not believing your employees would act so disrespectfully when trusted in someone's home, however, he wouldn't acknowledge this as a concern. He actually questioned me and my character as if me claiming the jewelry was going to change my life financially. Tobias mentioned his company chose not to insure me due to my high ticket items listed on the inventory log (which isn't accurate because he previously recommended I purchase additional insurance for the items valued at $100 per pound, these items do not fall under $100 per pound.) After a less than pleasant call with Tobias he recommended I file a claim with their Insurance company and emailed me the information. Their Insurance claim process is extremely lengthy and unfruitful. No acknowledgment of their wrongdoing.

    Tobias was LESS than satisfactory as a customer service representative.

  4. Where is my stuff?!

    I understand the pandemic has made things difficult.

    This company took the job of moving our belongings from NV to SC. We paid deposit and over $1000 for pick up (9/27/2020). We drove across to SC while keeping in touch with Sky Van Lines. It took us 2 weeks, no worries, they didn't have a driver anyway. We arrive 10/12/2020...still no delivery. We have 3-21 "business " days for delivery over 1200 miles, this does not include weekends...ok. 10/31/2020 no calls, I text, they STILL have no drivers and our belongings are still in NV. BUT the CONTRACT gives them 30 days to complete the delivery...it's 11/18/2020 we still don't have our belongings.

    We have had to buy new wardrobes for 5 PEOPLE!

    We have have to buy kitchen tools, utensils, equipment.

    I have half my business in the shipment and can not make money. Putting us on the verge of losing our new home.

    My daughter is disabled and we put some minor medical equipment in the shipment (we didn't need it immediately, but certainly before Nov!) They say don't put this stuff in the shipment...but if I'm hiring you to move our belongings...THATS what I need you to do. Don't take the job if you can not fulfill the request. This company has complaints since March of 2020 about this same issue. Telling people the truth up front will not make you lose business...being deceitful will. This company was well aware of their problems with logistics yet they still took my job.

    I am so upset, my kids holidays are ruined as we can not provide. I never thought this would still be going through this.

    11/18/2020 we STILL don't have our stuff!

  5. Don't Trust Them with their WORD or YOUR Property.

    This Moving Company Destroyed Over 170 Pieces , Lost or Stole Our Property. Owners of the Company witnessed the DAMAGE on 3 different meetings. Why do I say Stole I found a LOCK Box Pried OPEN with a candy wrapper inside. Damaged -Gouged Antique Furniture over 100 to 150 year old , Snapped of the End of a Solid Cherry Wood Table, Crushed packing boxes and bins

    They could not get all our property on the trucks, so they left unknown Items in SALT LAKE City.

    We were Promised a Truck would be returning from Las Vegas the Next Day to pick up our property to complete the move, it was almost a Month before our property was picked up. And when they did they Damaged the Locking mechanism on the storage facility.

    Their documentation of the property LOG is a Joke, instead of using the Printed item identification which is very clear to read and understand side they use the Back side and hand wrote chicken scratch every Item

    They use a 3rd party Claim company to process the claim which was Nightmare until I got the OWNER on the PHONE.

    They make it as difficult as possible so you get frustrated an say FORGET IT.

    Bottom Line if you want ALL of your Property,,, to be delivered in undamaged condition

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

    I have had multiple moves, coast to coast and local. I must say our experience with Sky Van Lines was one of the very best. Exceptional service from planning with Tobias in Las Vegas, pack-up crew led by Gerson, and delivery to Phoenix and offload by Mike and Mike! Very well done, indeed. Thank you! Michael Shreeve.

    I will have to say, I had to make some quick moves on the fly and if it wasn't for Sky Van Lines I have no idea where I'd be right now, let me say I was dealing with a workers comp case, losing my job, getting evicted, I could barely function and then I spoke with Bruce Yarwood, and he said you're going to Illinois from Vegas, you have nothing to worry about that's what we do, then he walked me through everything and explained it in great detail and was very patient with me and my add-ons, then there was Tobias Rivera, another great guy very patient, helpful and everytime I called these guys I felt great about not having to worry they always said don't worry will take care of everything, I genuinely felt like they really cared and that was very reassuring. Loved everything you guys are awesome definitely recommending you to everyone I know. Isaiah Ortiz.

  8. Buyer beware.

    They will find any way to get more money out of you once they have your stuff. On top of that they will alter their contract and make promises on the phone and then when they don’t come through on it the answer is “read the contract”. I’ve never dealt with a more shady backhanded company so willing to make promises they don’t intend on coming through on.

  9. I will never use again.

    Be sure you don't need your stuff quickly as it took 12 days to receive my delivery from Vegas to Texas. Once my inventory arrived, half of my heavy-duty rubbermaid totes were smashed..I can't imagine the weight they had to put on these to accomplish this feat.

    The started to unload and I noticed that the bottom of every single box had black tar on it and they proceeded to put them all over my newly cleaned light carpet! I stopped them immediately and grabbed cardboard boxes to put down. Had I not, they would have ruined all my carpet! As it stands, I can't get the stains out where they missed the cardboard.

    When my expensive, Persian carpet was brought in, they had only wrapped the middle part, so at least a foot on both ends were covered in permanent, black tar! This is what you get for hiring day labor who aren't trained properly!

    Bottom line, I will never use this company again, and if you care about anything you own, do not use them as well.

    I got sky to move me from las vegas to Orlando, they did good job packing us and load in 3 hours. we got. delivery in 10 days and over all it was a good move with good guys. thank you sky van lines for the help.

    I moved a few times in my life so far Sky was the best that I moved with. this guys know what they doing. give me a price at my home and it didn’t change at all. quality job, professional guys. I will give them 10 stars if I can.

    I used Sky to move my mom to NM las week, they did it so easy for me and deliver it in 7 days. tobias is a professional customer service and I never needed to call him he was on top of it all the way. thank you guys for a wonderful service.

    I moved with SKY last month from Las Vegas to NC The 2 guys from Sky Van Lines showed up on time, and were speedy and efficient! We were out and in the new place in 2 hours! Fantastic! I definitely will use them again when my daughter decides to move again!
