  1. Moving

I am so happy I used Social moving group. They were fast. clean and professional. I definitely will use them again and recommend them to all my friends and family.

  2. Excellent Service.

I highly recommend Social Moving Group as a moving company. Ben and his staff offered excellent service for moving from Georgia to Connecticut.

  3. HORRIBLE Experience!! Business Should Be Shut Down!

Social Moving Group (d/b/a United Express Relocation) failed to remove charges for items they didn't take, damaged other items, lost items and failed to deliver on the day promised. I contracted with Social Moving Group LLC d/b/a United Express Relocation to move my household goods from Georgia to Virginia. They arrived at my house and loaded the furniture there on August 11th. Then we went to a storage unit 8 miles away to load furniture I had stored there. When we arrived, it was discovered that the a/c unit had been leaking into my storage space for quite some time and everything was soggy and moldy. The movers could only take one item from there, but they failed to remove the charges for the rest of the items they did not take. I was scheduled to drive to Virginia the following day, August 12th, and United Express had promised to deliver my furniture on August 13th. They did not show up and did not contact me to let me know when they would deliver. I had to contact them and the customer service was deplorable. No one seemed to know what was going on. The quote had been given to me by John and, after leaving several messages, which he did not return, I succeeded in reaching him directly. I demanded to know when my furniture would arrive. He yelled at me that he was driving on the freeway at that moment and could not "pull a date out of his a**." He told me that, by law, he had 45 days to deliver the furniture. When I objected to this, he yelled at me in a very threatening tone "do NOT mess with me!" I finally talked to someone named Jessica who was able to tell me that the furniture would arrive "toward the end of the week." It arrived at 8:00 Saturday night, August 17th (four days late). There was damage to some furniture, including a broken leg on the antique desk they took from the storage unit. An antique hall tree, which had been handed down from my grandmother, was missing entirely. I reported it to the delivery men, who re-checked the truck and said it was not there. I called the next day to report it missing to Jessica and somebody else named Ben, who was supposedly the boss (although John had told me HE was the boss). They said they would check into it but I never heard from them. I called back the next week and was told it had been located in New York! They said they would retrieve it and deliver it to me within the next couple of weeks. Of course, that never happened and I made several phone calls. Each time, Jessica told me she would talk to Ben and have him call me, but he never did. She also told me I did not need to call her anymore, that she would call me when it was on its way. She never called again, so I finally called her on December 4th, at which time I demanded answers. Again, she said she would have Ben call me but he did not. I reached him directly on December 6th and he told me he would include me in a group text to the person who has my hall tree. I then received a text sent by Jessica to Tracey/Laura inquiring about the status of the antique hall tree that was delivered to them by mistake. No one's number was on the text but Jessica's so I'm not convinced it wasn't just a "dummy" message. At any rate, there has been no reply to the message by anyone except me. I replied that I wanted my grandmother's hall tree back and that, since they know where it is, they should go get it and deliver it to me as promised. I have to date not received any reply to that text or any phone calls. It is clear they have no intention of retrieving my hall tree and delivering it to me. It feels criminal to me that they can just refuse to deliver to me what is rightfully mine. that is the same as stealing it from me. If I could name one thing that I did not want to ever lose, it would be that hall tree. But of course, that’s the one thing I lost. And they know where it is..they’re just not delivering it to me. Customers would be better off to just leave their furniture behind or sell it before they move, combine the sale proceeds with the thousands that they would have paid United Express Relocation and buy new furniture to be delivered by professionals when they arrive at their new location. These people are liars and thieves..yes, THIEVES! They make promises to people that they know they have no intention of keeping, take their money and then do not deliver. Theft, Fraud, Larceny..by any name, this is what these people do. Their business should be shut down!

  4. Do Not Hire.

This company originally is called Social Moving Group and they have renamed themselved to US Express
Relocation to escape the ghost of their bad reviews and C- Better Business Bureau Rating. Before hiring
them, do yourself a favor and check their Better Business Bureau page in the link below. You can verify
what I am saying by looking at the "Alternate Business Names" in the bottom left section.

Basically the reason you should not hire this company is they will break your furniture, charge you hidden fees, embarass you infront of your neighbors,
twist your arm when your furniture is held hostage, charge you for things they did not do and/or refused to do, and only inform you
of a change in delivery or pick up after the delivery is due. In a simple bullet list here is a break down of what happened with me

    0. They charge you hidden fees that they only inform you about when your furniture is in the truck. In addition, they make you sign papers that states that
they are not liable if some types of your furniture brakes. You will never hear anything about those papers until you have paid the deposit and your furniture
    is in the truck.

    1. They lie/change the truth. John claimed to be the owner of the company. Actually he is not. He has little to no power over the movers. In fact, the mover told me he is only a "sales guy". Other
    examples are throughout this list.

    2. They changed the delivery schedule without informing me of the changes. The driver did not respond to my text when I asked him what time he will be coming
the night before. I only found out of the change by the end of the delivery time window. As a result, I had to incur an extra night of hotel and leave a day
earlier. In addition, I had to hire last minute movers to do a part of the job. The last minute movers were really expensive.

    3. They threatened to throw my furniture on the ground when I contacted them with a legitimate billing concern. There was an error in the original bill they
gave me. In addition, due to what happened in 2, they didn't do all of the job. The owner (Ben) who was the only supervisor I could talk to (since the truck driver said he only listens to "Ben" and
that the other person I made the deal with "John" was only a "sales guy") would not pick up the phone when I contacted him with billing concerns. When he finally picked up the phone instead of
either explaining to me why my concerns are wrong or adressing my concerns, he screamed at me over the phone and threatened to throw my furniture on the ground.

    4. They broke my furniture. I moved about less than 25 items. In a move from Atlanta to North Carolina, they broke 5 (2 floor lamps, coffee table, bookshelf, dented dryer). In other words,
they broke 20% of the items they moved. Instead of starting my new job with a peace of mind, I have to look for replacement furniture and carry it up myself.
Please see pictures attached to this review. (The driver paid me compensation "out of his pocket" much less than what I had paid to move the items let alone how much they cost.)

First they accused me of lying and that the items were broken from before. They asked me for picture proof from items from before.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwKBUhHaOmg

Then they said its my fault for not buying a box that was not recommended to me. See proof:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P6UsHw5VBM

    5. They are not clean. All over my original location they have left tapes and trash in their path. I had to clean up after them not to be fined by property management.

    6. They are bullies. I was yelled at infront of my new neighbors. In addition, at my original location they sent three movers. One of them was not very skilled
in speaking English. Josh was bullying that mover who could not speak English and kept yelling at him in my apartment. At one point the third mover had to
speak to Josh to ease up on that mover.

    7. They would not do the job. I had to argue with them to move items that were in the inventory and I was charged for. When they broke some of those items, they
told me its my fault for not adding those items to the inventory (again those items were in the inventory). I had to go around calling three different
people to have them do the job. It was clear they did not want to do the job and were "angry" with John for giving me a price so cheap. The made sure
to mention that a couple of times. The price John gave me was not cheap, in fact I have gotten other quotes that were about 20% cheaper. I still chose them
because I thought there is an advantage to speaking directly with John who I thought he was the owner of the company. Turns out he was just bluffing (as the
    mover claims.)

    8. When I confronted the mover about my broken items he claimed that they were already like that before. He insisted I need a picture to prove it was not
like that before. After I told him I am going to go after them, he told me its my fault for not adding those items to the inventory list (those items were in the list).

    9. They overwork their movers and juice the most money out of them. I feel bad for the movers. They are tasked with more than they can do, but the mover
is the only one I could talk to since he handles paper work and moves at the same time.

  5. WORST MOVERS EVER/neg. 5 stars.

    DID NOT ITEMIZE ANYTHING
    DID NOT LABEL ANY BOXES
    NO INVENTORY
I'VE LOST TRACK OF THE AMOUNT OF BROKEN ITEMS
Used homeowners boxes and packing paper
Packed items they were asked not to pack (hearing aids, glasses, laptops)
Did not put boxes in appropriate places when unloading
Put heavy boxes on top of lighter boxes smashing whatever was in them- most of them upside down
Piled boxes and furniture up to the ceiling in the garage-leaving elderly parents unable to access
Blocked access from apartment into garage with heavy boxes
Backed over antique table with moving truck and laughed
Could not open or close automatic garage door because of items stacked in the way
Every single lamp was bent and the lamp shades were all smashed in the bottom of random boxes
Dozens of pieces of antique furniture were damaged or broken
Things were just thrown into boxes when being packed, no sense of order
sewing machines were upside down in the bottom of boxes with books, furniture and other misc. stuff thrown on top
Have not delivered all of the furniture- claiming my parents still owe money- After adding up the cost of everything broken and lost- It is clear that Ben the mover owes my parents money and their furniture
The antiques that have been broken are irreplaceable and were collected over a 50 year period, some family heirlooms
Hearing aid and glasses have still not been located
Ben doubled the cost of the original quote
Ben messed up the deposit of one of the checks, and tried to blame my parents for his mistake- the bank even explained it was the fault of the company trying to deposit the check
Very unprofessional through every step of the move
The absolute WORST experience with moving ever
Disheartening to see elderly people being treated so poorly.

  6. The Worst.

If I could give negative stars I would. Any of the positive reviews are absolutely ridiculous. Our original quote went up significantly by the end of our move however, that was not even the big issue. When booking our move I asked multiple times if they were brokered movers and was told no. We asked when our pick up needed to be to ensure our items would be delivered by a certain date. I was told multiple times our delivery would be on time including the day it was picked up. Once our items were picked up by the company all contact was lost. We could not get anyone to answer a phone call, were hung up on multiple times and resorted to blowing up every single phone number we could possibly find when our items still hadn't arrived several days after our delivery date. We were in a new town with ZERO of our belongings, they had everything we owned and were nowhere to be found. FINALLY I get John on the phone who I was told an owner which he denied when I called and interrupted me over and over to tell me he couldn't give me any information about my items or where they were. He referred me to Ben who we called and texted multiple times before he would answer then proceeded to feed me the same exact line. Eventually our items show up, damaged, dirty and wet. The people who brought our items had nothing to do with "US Express Relocation" which is also apparently "Social Moving Group". The nice man who delivered our items told us basically we got lucky everything even showed up from this company. NEVER AGAIN.. what a joke. And good luck if you need to file a claim because they won't answer your phone calls anyways.

  7. Moving Nightmare.

I contacted Ben of Social Moving Group (SMG), Norcross, GA regarding a move from Carson, California to West Palm Beach, Florida. I contacted him because I had previously used this company to move my son from Atlanta, GA to California. During that move Ben came to my son's residence in Atlanta, surveyed the goods, and provided a price estimate. The move went as planned and the price never changed. My son's goods were delivered without any damage. That led me to trust Ben and the company.

Upon my move to Florida, Ben analyzed my goods by telephone. I went from room to room and told him what furniture I wanted to be moved. Ben provided an estimate of $3,900, which included the furniture and up to 75 boxes. I agreed and provided a $500 deposit. Pick up date was scheduled for February 25, 2017. Unbeknownst to me, Ben acted as a broker and subcontracted the job. He never informed me about this. I thought that SMG was picking up and delivering my goods.

On moving day, February 25, another moving company (United Moving & Storage) came to my residence in California, accessed my goods, and said the cost would be $8,000. Words cannot explain the anguish and betrayal I felt. I told the representative from United that I could not afford to pay $8,000. The United rep told me than Ben had charged me an high rate at $7.00 per square cubic feet, and that my goods would require twice the space provided in the estimate. The United rep and Ben were on the phone on and off for about an hour before the United rep indicated that $6,000 was the final price. I initially said no, but eventually agreed because everything had been packed and my plane to Florida was leaving in just a few days. I didn't have time to find another company. I had to pay one half of the balance at that time.

I called Ben. I was livid. He basically told me that I could have found another company. He said that the United rep indicated I had big furniture. I expressed to him how unfair this was: for a customer to have to experience such a shock on moving day. I questioned him about big furniture as opposed to medium or small furniture, since he never asked me about the size of my furniture. I told him an estimate should never be $2,000 more than a quote. I expressed how unprofessional and deceptive this is.

My goods arrived on March 10th by a company called Honest and True Moving. I have no idea how many times my goods have been transferred from one location to another. Much of my furniture is heirlooms of high value. My furniture arrived on March 10th. My furniture was damaged to a degree where some of it had to be trashed. The movers from United wrapped tape on my antique leather sofa and chair. The color came off when the movers from Honest and True Moving removed the tape. The movers indicated that the furniture was poorly packed and should have been wrapped in plastic, and not taped. The leather on my furniture was aged as if it had been outdoors in extreme weather for an extended period of time. The box spring of my king sized mattress was so filthy until I had to trash it. A leg was broken and the frame was cracked on my antique chair. A leg was broken on my metal table. A leg was broken on my nightstand table and the marble top was also broken. Two antique mirrors were broken. A decorative tree was destroyed. A vintage floor lamp was broken beyond repair. My brand new lamp shades were destroyed. Additionally, I didn't receive a couple of boxes, and didn't realize it until I had completely unpacked.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. My advice to anyone moving, especially across county, is to hire a full service moving company that will come out and physically access your goods. Inquire into if they will contract the job or do it themselves. I honestly thought that SMG was that type of company, but it is far from it. SMG is an unprofessional and dishonest company. They should have told me that the job was being subcontracted and I would have never used them.

  8. Great Moving Experience.

Hello! I had the pleasure of booking Social Moving Group and they surpassed my expectations. Although I only moved a two bedroom apartment, his crew were like moving head hunters when it came to moving my things and packing the truck. Ben was super responsive whenever I called before and after the move. I already have referred multiple people to him for their moves in the future.

    Thanks!

  9. Professional & Great Quality.

I recently had a move from Atlanta to Dallas, TX. From the start, Ben and his crew were amazing! His crew communicated effectively and moved me in a timely but speedy fashion. Definitely would recommend Social Moving Group to all my family and friends!

  10. Terrible experience.

    Attached PDF

I had a terrible experience with US Expressrelocation AKA Social Moving Group. Everything seemed fine during the time I booked this company until it was time to move. First we agreed on 03/12/16 to 03/13/16 as the move date. I was surprised to get a call from Ben on the morning of Friday 03/11/16 telling me that their driver was soon to arrive at our apartment for the move. There was no one home since that wasn't what we had agreed upon and this was communicated to Ben. Long story short, they almost didn't move our things on the agreed date until I had to call them several times as Ben claimed that their driver couldn't return to NC though it wasn't our fault the driver stopped by on a day earlier than when we agreed on. Ben eventually found a driver to move our stuff on the evening of Sunday 03/13/16. Upon arrival of our stuff on 03/19/16, my husband's laptop had been stolen with some of our moving boxes torn, our clothes and books thrown on the floor among other things. I called Ben to report the situation of our things when they arrived and he revealed that the driver wasn't theirs and they had contracted out our moving. This we never knew about at the time of the move. Ben promised to file a claim regarding this matter. I sent him pictures as proof on 04/03/16 but never heard back from them ever since. This company has left a bitter taste in our mouths when it comes to using movers for a move. My husband and I had more headache dealing with them than we would have should we have done the move ourselves. I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THIS COMPANY!!
p.s. See attached pictures as proof of the damage done to our stuff.

  11. Cross country move.

I have lived in the Northeast, Atlanta GA and now Washington State, and used plenty of moving companies. This move went so smooth. The movers are very professional and packed and numbered everything really well. Nothing was damaged across country!!. The driver and helper were very organized and professional, kept me updated on the progress in a timely manner and did a n all around great job.

  12. Worst moving company ever!!

I wish I could give 0 stars. We used Social Moving Group, dispatched through US Express relocation. At first we we're rushed to change our moving date 4 days early so our furniture would get to our destination on the date we choose. So that already gave us 1 week on an air mattress. Then on the date we were suppose to receive our furniture we called, to confirm the time the truck would arrive, just to find out the truck barely moved from the previous location. Days later: dodged calls and an email confirming that our truck is in transit. A week after the actual date we were supposed to receive our furniture, we were told that the truck hadn't in fact moved, and that our furniture will be loaded a week later. We had to deal with rude dispatcher, who wouldn't give us the company's name and referred to the owner as John Smith. Rude and sexist drivers, yelling at us and unwilling to speak to me, seeing as that I'm a woman and emotional (his words). Now 4 weeks after loading the truck and 3 weeks after the date we were supposed to receive our furniture, it arrives: broken and missing items. We will see how we will be reimbursed. Let me warn you!! WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!! Stay away!!

  13. Excellent Team.

The social moving team was prompt, efficient and very excellent to work with; my move was completed in less than a full day and I'd recommend the team without hesitation. I would definitely inquire about the estimate for the cost services over the required minimum to maintain your moving budget. It was very easy to secure the booking in just a few days notice with a small security deposit. Great value and service!!

  14. The best moving experience ever!!

We were very satisfied with this company. They showed up on time, loaded all our belongings with great care, and in a timely manner. Once we got to our new house, the movers helped us stay organized by placing our boxes and furniture in the designated room. They worked efficiently, and made sure that everything was to our satisfaction.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great moving experience!

  15. Service.

I am writing this as a warning for any one using this company. We had nothing but problems with this move and a claim that has been filed. It is impossible to do. They request weight on missing items yet how do you weigh a missing item or box? They want estimates for all of the damage and repairs yet every estimate called for they want money to give you an estimate. My husband is permanently disabled from a brain tumor we do not have that money. How do you take pictures of missing items? The company they subcontracted with were so horrible the movers did not even know to follow the red stickers with numbers as to where items belonged. They had a very old ratty truck and when they opened the door my brand new mattress with protective plastic cover fell out of the truck to the ground. I had to demand that they assemble the items that they disassembled per the contract. They put together one poster bed and tried to hide the poster that had been broken and they just set it on. It fell off when I touched it. They refused to take boxes where the belonged and piled in one doorway and wall so high I had to climb over boxes to get out of my kitchen. Told me they were not paid to move things twice, Had to tell them if they had put items which were clearly marked where they belonged we wouldn't be having this problem. Brand new Flex steel furniture was crushed, legs with deep gouges. Dented and scratched washer and dryer. The list goes on. Workers even stole cigarettes and helped themselves to the refrigerator! A whole box of 50 years of accumulated costume jewelry gone. Weight? Who knows its missing. Please be warned and take extra insurance as the 60 cents a pound is a joke! Any one want to weigh a four poster bed, washer, dryer etc? I will continue with my claim but how do you prove anything when workers were so negligent, items missing and they need a weight. It is so sad that we were treated this way and our items treated so poorly. My son was in the USAF and was killed what is the price for his missing flight picture? We are poor and disabled, this move was to allow us sunshine and healing. Don't let the workers rush you through the item checks and minimize the importance of what they are writing. After as I went through the list with a fine tooth comb they had my brand new flex-steel furniture listed as scratched. I called Ben immediately about this and his response was don't worry about it. I do have many pictures and all of the phone calls that I did make.
