  1. Avoid at all costs.

Not much I can add to the other bad reviews, they break, damage and will charge far more than the estimate you are given. even if you send them an itemized inventory taken by another mover they will claim its wrong and after agreeing to a binding estimate they will show up, pack everything , than inform you they want more money because the estimate was wrong. they accept no responsibility for damaged items and give sarcastic responses to questions about damaged items. in the end it cost far more than the real companies were asking. I would waste no time in considering this company to move your belongings.

  2. Stop.

STOP! STOP!! Terrible moving experience. LIARS!! Once you sign papers, they begin their foolery, will not answer calls. Different answers from different people. They changed my move day from Sunday to Monday because they were too booked, without my approval. Jeffrey & Alex first class professional TRICKSTERS. Had to pay additional $400 before belongings was released. BEWARE.

  3. SCAMMERS Sales ppl will tell u 1 thing and movers will charge you diff.

My first 30+ min conversation was with their sales person named Jason. I went through all the details of my inventory, current location, and destination location. I explained to him that I lived in an apt building with an elevator and that they would be able to double park the truck right in front of the building like all Brooklyn residence do when they move. He said he double checked the area and made sure that we would not have to add a shuttle charge to the bill. He also told me that their long distance carry of 75 feet only applies from the front of the building to the truck which in this case was less. I then explained to him that my home at the destination had more then 14 steps. He assured me that stairs in a home don't count.
So after this phone call, I compare their rates and reviews to many of the other companies I spoke with. Solomon and Sons came out cheapest and had the best reviews.
He sends me the contract to sign, and tells me that I shouldn't worry about their stairs section and that I wont get charged. So I sign it taking him up on his word.
I get a call 2 days before my move date from the driver asking me if they can pick up my stuff 1 day early since they arrived in town early. I tell him no problem (thinking if I do them this favor that they would repay me by taking extra good care of my stuff). I take an extra day off from work and get some family members from the neighborhood to help to get the rest of our stuff ready to go go for the movers.
They get to my house and one of the guys start wrapping my furniture while the other mover starts going over the paper work with me. He tells me that they are charging me an extra 150.00 for a shuttle fee, and an extra 100.00 for a long distance carry fee. (he said the distance is from the apt to the elevator and then the elevator to the truck). I call customer service but they can't help b/c the manager is out of the office and he tells me that we will deal with this later and to let the movers pick up my belongings.
I try calling back a few days later to follow up, but they still can not resolve the issue b/c they need the BOL.
The movers come to my house to drop off my stuff at the destination and then charge me an additional 50 dollars for my stairs. I say no problem, i'll just add that to the things to speak about with the manager when I get a hold of him or her.
I had to run to the ER for my son while the movers were unpacking so I left my brother there to supervise. When I get back I come home to see some of my furniture broken. I asked my brother if they told him that they broke anything. And he said that they did not mention anything. (the crib was placed against the wall with the broken foot so that I wouldn't realize that it was broken and tipped over. And you can see from the picture that they tried fixing it with a lousy screw)
I continue to chase the company to speak to someone that can help me, and I finally speak with a customer service agent that tells me that she can only refund me for the long distance carry and for the stairs. She said that 18 wheeler trucks are not allowed on Brooklyn. I send her a link to the city MAP (images included in this review) and I get no response.
By the way, they would only give you a refund if you sign a 2 page documents basically saying that you can't write bad reviews or hold them accountable for anything..
In short, they will come off as cheap and great reviews, but there are a bunch of extra charges that they throw in. And if you try to get refunded, you will only get partial and not be able to write about your experience.

    STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

I have attached images for all of you to view. You will notice a larger truck passing by in one of the pics as they were telling me that large trucks can't get onto my block lol.

  4. Thanks to This Company.

KUDOS on accomplishing our recent move from Hollywood, FL - Denver, CO successfully. Alejandro, Peter, Artur and Jorge. Amazing friendly crew and hardworking. Wrapping and protecting our items was a breeze for these guys. They completed our move in 8 hours and were off to our destination (Or at least we thought) Turns out our stuff was transferred to another truck (Dennis larger truck) a few days later we received a call from Dennis informing us to get ready to accept out delivery the next evening. He was very prompt in his communication and very careful with the unloading of our goods. I would certainly say this company did a great job on our move. Compared to our last one with Allied Covan this one was much better.

  5. Customer Service Seriously Lacking.

I gave them one star because zero stars is not an option. Let me start out by saying the actual movers, the ones that do the grunt work, are good. The problem lies with the office staff. If you read facebook and yelp reviews, there seems to be a common thread, and that is missed or lacking communication in regard to costs. Another common thread is a majority of 5 star reviews are in the immediate area of the company. Yet another thread is there are only ones and fives as reviews, which I find very hard to believe, and is a cardinal sign of a flawed survey.

Chris promised the world, but the actual cost exceeded by 1K. You try to resolve with Roy, the General Manager, who by the way, "reports to no one', and a resolution is nearly impossible because there is no one else to speak to, according to Roy.

The day before the move, they called us to say that the truck would be there the next day. At that time, we informed them that an 18 wheeler would not be able to access the road. At 0830 the next day, the driver called to say that he couldn't get up the road, and that he would have to get a shuttle truck. oh, by the way, the truck destroyed the entrance way landscaping. The Uhaul place did not open until noon, so the workers did nothing for three hours. At 1:30 the driver showed up with a uhaul with our belongings and informs us that "before we start unloading, you have a balance of xxxxx", which was written on the estimate, and written next to it was 450, which he said "that's the charge for the shuttle truck." We were never informed of the added charge. Now, we have to resolve this with Roy (who reports to no one) and our belongings are held hostage. If we did not pay, they would take the shipment away, put it in storage, and when we wanted to pay, they would bring our stuff AND charge us an additional shuttle truck charge. What do you do?? You pay. Thanks again Roy, you've been a big help yet again.

I served 20 years in the United States Navy and moved 11 times. I have moved cross country twice. I have move to and from the Philippines, so I've been through it all. I also worked for a national moving company between my Freshman and Sophomore years of college and saw first hand how crooked the industry is. Every thing bad I said was going to happened, happened. I tried to resolve with Roy, but Roy, unfortunately, "reports to no one."

    #worstmoveever.

  6. Happy Customer.

I hired Soloman & sons on "short notice ", to move my son from ft Lauderdale to Virgina. Jason made the whole process ran smoothly-they were " on time" from pick up to delivery (even early). I would highly recommend Soloman & son movers. I am actually going to hire them for "my" next move.

  7. Florida to Chicago - Early January Move.

Excellent service from the office; great team that finished the packing and loaded the truck. BUT, SUPER KUDOS to the team that met me in Chicago and unloaded the truck, set-up my furniture. They were outstanding. Highly recommend. I've had 5 major moves over the past 20 years and this was one the best experiences with a moving company.

  8. Hire them.

I can't say enough about this wonderful company! For months I was totally dreading my move across the country and based on all my prior moving experiences, I bracing myself for the worst.

But Solomon & Sons Moving changed the game! They were quick, efficient, and even arrived 30 minutes ahead of time, which was awesome! They packed up my 1.5 bed, 1.5 bath apartment much quicker than I expected, The Tv's were packed so well and so fast I had a hard time figuring out how they did it so easily.

Ford and Calvin were my movers, and they were great and friendly. It was a bonus that they had moved into this new apartment before, so they knew all the ins and outs even before I stepped into my apartment for the first time.

I also want to mention that the management was wonderful to work with. I probably emailed them 10 times, and they usually responded in a matter of minutes. (Monica, Jessica & Roy)

If I ever move again, I will definitely call Solomon Movers . Totally wonderful experience!

  9. GA to FL move.

THE WORST moving experience I've ever had--and, as a retired military SNCO, I've moved a lot!
It took these guys TWO FULL DAYS (18 hrs) just to pack up a 1200 sq ft space! They were smug, tardy, arrogant, and EXTREMELY slow. Before the move (and before they got my initial deposit), the salesman was very responsive and in almost constant contact. After the first check was received, not so much. During the move, while I was having major issues with their lack of urgency and poor customer service, the salesman was barely reachable and wouldn't return phone calls, which added to my frustration. I wouldn't recommend Solomon&Sons to anyone.

  10. I got what I paid for.

They are efficient, fast, considerate, professional and experienced. They are also trustworthy, clean, and very hardworking. The only thing this company is not, the cheapest. Be prepared to spend a bit more on your move (and to tip generously because the crew will work their tails off for you). You will definitely get what you pay for!

  11. Good service.

Ivory, Calvin, Jouve, Michael & Dan were my movers from Miami, We moved over 10,000 lbs of times with this company and did so with great confidence in our items. We saw the way the moving team cared for the attention to our items. While our items were in transport Roy & Richard were available for us around the clock when we called. Delivery in Long Iland had some complications with gaining access to our street but luckily the driver did squeeze with only inches to spare. The items were delivered and everything looked to be in great shape. Never have I hired movers before but I am very happy with this company and there employees. They did a great job.

  12. Recent Move.

I recently moved from Washington to Idaho. Solomon & Sons traveled all the way from Florida to Washington state to relocate me. Sam and his crew were so kind and professional my stress level dropped to zero. They were efficient and organized. Everything was wrapped, padded, and re-wrapped. All of my belongings arrived at my new location safe and on time. For customer satisfaction S&S are 5 stars.

  13. Moving Experience.

I had not moved in over five years..so it was not easy picking out a moving company but I'm very happy I trusted Solomon and Sons Relocation.
My moving advisor gave me a very good quote and accurate information.
And though the moving guys arrived later than expected, they kept in touch til they arrived. They took good care of my furniture and boxes and did it all efficiently and quickly, though it was their 3rd and last move of the day!
Great guys to meet, friendly and respectful. My moving advisor called more than once to check up on how things were going and to make sure it was going well.
I could not be more pleased Inspite of the late moving time.
I would definitely recommend Solomon & Sons to my friends and family.

  14. My move was great.

Recently had these guys move me and my husband from our 4 bedroom home in NJ, We expected more time on the delivery but the driver was here in 8 days. Not a bad move, Price was fair, Crew were polite and great to deal with. They even helped us find a storage unit last second because we no longer wanted to keep items in our garage. I was most impressed with the company's customer services, They never once lacked any potential in providing me with updates and when we had questions someone was always availablee. would use again .

  15. No complaints.

I moved recently with S&S relocation my main contacts were Alex and Sam. These guys did a great job with the move I had no problems or frustrations with them. Everything arrived with all the items in good shape. The crew men worked hard and were polite. The cost was as the probably quoted price and even though I'm sure there might have been a cheaper way to get things done I do feel that what I Paid was well worth the cost. This was my 3rd move and hopefully my last but in the future I would use these guys again if I needed to relocate again.
