  1. Suburban Relocation Systems: Moving Hostage, Fraud, and Scam

I entered into a moving agreement with Suburban Relocation Systems LLC to ship my household goods from Pennsylvania to Florida. Suburban Relocation Systems breached pickup date and drop off dates MULTIPLE times and is now holding my household deliveries hostage and demanding double pay.

    Timeline:

    1. Based on the original agreement the pickup date was August 2, 2021 and drop off date was August 20th. I paid deposit 10%.

    2. On August 2nd Suburban Relocation Systems LLC did not show up and rescheduled the pickup for the following day. They charged me $230 more than the binding estimate. I paid a 50% deposit at this time.

    3. On August 20th my household goods were NOT delivered as the original agreement specified.

    4. Ann Miller, Suburban's representative, sent me an email on August 23rd saying they will send a truck to my state in 3 days, which again did not happen.

    5. Ann Miller's text message on August 27 states that a truck will be back in two days to load my goods, which did not happen again. I asked for advanced notice multiple times, since my association needs to reserve elevator.

    6. Suburban's dispatcher agreed and promised "We will make sure you get a 2 day notice." Ann repeatedly promised to "update you as soon as your items are loaded to the truck."

    7. At 3:44 pm on September 6, Suburban's driver sent me a text message, stating that the delivery will be from 1 to 3 pm in the following day. This is a 21 hour notice. Suburban Relocation Systems did not give me 2-day notice me as they agreed. They did not even give me 24-hour notice as they claimed.

    8. Fortunately I was still able to reserve the elevator for 1-4 pm on September 7th.

    9. On September 7 (18 days past due), Suburban's truck arrived later than scheduled delivery time (arrived at 4:10 pm instead of 1-3 pm). This was past my 1-4 pm reservation and the elevator was closed as per my association.

    10. Suburban Relocation Systems LLC refused to wait until Thursday when elevator is available, stating that they will not wait to deliver even if we pay all the hefty fee ($750 per day: $450 for day and $300 for night).

    11. Suburban returned to its headquarter with my goods, stating that I must pay double fee to deliver again.

    12. Suburban charged $1440 on my credit card without my authorization, which is fraud by FBI's definition.

    In summary:

    • Suburban failed to pickup and deliver on time and shows pattern of broken promises.

    • Suburban did NOT give me 2-day noticed as agreed. They did not even give me a 24-hour notice.

    • Suburban arrived late and missed the scheduled elevator reservation.

    • Suburban hold my goods as hostage (demand double pay), although they are completely at fault for all of the delays.

    • On top of hostage, Suburban committed credit card fraud.

Our family have to sleep on the floor and get sick. My kids have no books to read and no toys to play. I have to repurchase essentials, which I should NOT have had to make. We have suffered too much.

I appreciate your advice to deal with this nightmare. I am happy to share my lessons and experience with you, so that fewer people will be victims of Suburban Relocation Systems.

  2. Fraud

Don’t believe the fake positive reviews – these guys are a scam. Sharon Brooks (sales associate) and Victor Guerra (mover) are fraudulent and willing to break federal law to extort their customers. I’ve already filed a formal complaint with the FMCSA, FTC, and BBB, but I want everyone to know how untrustworthy this company is. On 4/30/21 I signed a binding estimate for $2923; on move day (6/25/21) Victor and his team arrived late without apology, asked me to sign a blank estimate (which I refused), and immediately began loading the truck with our belongings. At no time did Victor conduct a walkthrough with us to go over the inventory, nor did he show us any of the paperwork he was referencing for our move documentation. Per federal law (and Suburban Relocation Systems’ own binding contract which I had signed), a mover may not increase the price of a binding estimate once the truck has been loaded; by law, they must alert the customer to any overages or increases before a single item is touched. Victor never did this. After the truck was fully loaded, he announced we had 113 cubic feet more than our inventory had listed; I know this to be false because I had two competing quotes from other companies which estimated our belongings at a much lower number, and because I myself (in anticipation of this very accusation) had painstakingly measured each and every box and furniture item I own, running the calculation on cubic footage, which confirmed the lower estimates from the other companies.

Victor’s false accusation of more cubic footage resulted in him demanding over $400 more than our binding quote had guaranteed. I pointed out that I had not agreed to this new quote nor had I signed his blank estimate at the start of the move, and that he was breaking federal interstate move laws by upcharging in this manner. He refused to acknowledge my point. In fact, he made two nonsense retorts: the first excuse he made was that he “couldn’t possibly have known” it would be more until the truck was loaded (this is exactly why these laws exist – to avoid extortion in this way); the second excuse he made was that he had, in fact, told us it would be more. I ask you, how could Victor have simultaneously warned us it would be more and also have no way of knowing it would be more? He lies, that’s how. We asked if we could speak to Victor’s supervisor – he refused, then claimed he was the owner of the company, then refused again. We asked if there was a number we could call – he provided only a nameless phone number I could text or call, which of course yielded no results. We tried calling the sales office, the dispatch number, the main phone line – all met with no answers. At one point, Victor called “Mike” (most likely just a buddy of his with no affiliation to the company, posing as the heavy handed boss) and put him on speakerphone so we could hear him say “She pays or we unload everything!” When we tried to speak up for this fake boss to hear us, Victor rapidly and frantically hung up the call.

Because the team had arrived so late in the day (by now it was getting dark and way past business hours), we had no choice but to continue with this company. Victor Guerra extorted us by telling us we could either pay the exorbitant increase or he would unload all of our belongings in the street. We let him know we would be taking legal action against him since he was breaking the law, and he actually bragged about having been successful at this tactic for over 16 years.

The following day, Sharon (from the office) finally returned my call. I calmly explained everything to her, and to my astonishment, she doubled down on the company’s decision to defraud customers. She lied about the facts of the incident (which she was not even present for) and reiterated that the upcharge would stand or we would not receive our belongings. We eventually did receive our belongings, after having paid over 13% more than what we owed. The entire process of dealing with this company was a nightmare. I would pay twice the price to an honest company before I give these slime bags one more penny. They were rude, late, careless, and unethical. If my review here warns just one customer off them, it will have almost been worth it. I hope they are fined and put out of business.

RUN, don't walk, away from this scam of a company.

  3. Horrible moving company

Suburban relocation systems picked up my furniture and belongings in PA on March 17th to be delivered to me in Tucson AZ on May 1st. A delivery driver called me on April 6th to schedule delivery that day??? I wasn't even moving to AZ until May 1st. So they put my stuff in storage and now here I'm sitting in an empty apartment since May 1st. Almost a month after delivery was supposed to happen and still NO delivery. And getting no updates from the dispatch as to when they will deliver. This is horrible! I have medical equipment in storage now and I'm having health issues due to their neglegence. I'm going to contact a lawyer on Monday to file charges against them. This is the worst company ever including their dispatch and Ann Miller my so called moving consultant. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

  4. Worst. Move EVER.

I had a duccesful pickup of furniture and my household stuff. I stated a delivery time of 6/30. So far nothing. Leesa the scheduler hasn't helped at all
When we started we thought and were told its an easy move. They do this all the time, etc
Now I have a reasonable expectation of delivery of my goods delivery but this is ridiculous. They seem to be bent on good starts to moving but apparently could care less about delivery. So far, just ptomises but no delivery. I have no tv so the dish guy wont install internet or tv service. I only brought enough clothes for 4 days because I had expected delivery by now. They give you some song and dance about getting a driver to come to our area and how apparently inconvenient it is for them. I think if it was that incovenient delivering to a rural area they should have told up front. All I can ask is "where's my stuff*? It should have been delivered by now.

  5. Excellent moving company.

I have moved many times in the past. Suburban provided a full pack for my move and I was very pleased with their services. My items were received on time and nothing was damaged. I have several antiques and white furniture. I would recommend them them to anyone looking for a mover. They did provide a free tv pack and a couple of dish packs. I do have a piano and it arrived in excellent condition. I couldn't have asked for more. I will use their services again.

  6. My move.

I usually don’t take the time to write reviews on companies but this time I had to I’ve moved before never did I have an experience like this where it was good from beginning to end.

I put in for a quote and you know where all these people call you none stop so that’s what happened and then Sharon came on the phone and just by the knowledge she displayed and the sense of calm she brought in I know that I had to stay on the phone and listen, she walked me through the whole process one by one and by the way stayed with me after any questions I had always answering her phone and when she’s not there I leave a message she gets back to me and that was just one thing the movers themselves the ones on the pick up and the delivery both, on the pick up they wrapped everything like it came form the store everything nothing left that was not wrapped I also time the full packing service because I’m lazy so they did the boxes mirror pictures all of it they also pretty much disassembled half the house, and the way they stacked let me tell it was like the guy was playing Tetris unbelievable he told they take the time to stack well because it helps to keep the stuff safe and so I was very satisfied with the service I got very Smooth and efficient move all of the people enveloped were professional and curious and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone involved.

  7. Really good moving experience.

I was so pleased with my experience with suburban relocation systems. My move was hassle free from the very beginning , Mark was very professional and walked me through the entire process, and made sure that I understood the entire process from my first call I could tell that these guys were going to make sure that I was satisfied. They were very competitive as far a pricing went and also offered a low price match guarantee. The day of the move the suburban crew showed up on time and as promised was actually Suburban who showed up they did not broker out my move to a third party. The crew that showed up were professional and courteous worked very hard and took care with all of my belongings. They also made sure to properly protect my things , provided free t.v. boxes and also waived the cost of special packing for my glass table tops and crated my wife's curio cabinet at no additional cost. These guys took a lot of pride in their work , and were diligent in their efforts to ensure that everything was done in a timely manner. On delivery my items arrived within the time frame that my specialist Mark hand told me and made no false promises me as far as my timeframe. The crew that delivered my things were also.

  8. I had to recommend.

Thanks a lot guys for what you have done for me. I used them for my 3 bed room apartment move and they not only gave me a great deal, they did manage to deliver me the best possible service and charged a very competitive amount. I am more than just happy with their performance. I thank the movers for their brilliant work and I specially thank the sales guy for organizing the whole move and for offering me a great deal. I do not see any alternates but to recommend Suburban Relocation.

  9. Not our best move.

We have moved many times both local and long distance. This was one of the worst. Truck was 3 hours late to load. Workers spoke limited English and did not follow even simple directions.loading took 4hours instead of the usual 3 hours. Driver went his own route to new house adding an additional hour travel time. All items were clearly marked but this was ignored so it was put where ever the workers chose to drop it. Breakfast room floor was cut and damaged in multiple places - still waiting on a resolution in this. Then to top it off the driver / supervisor wanted us to tip the Workers? You may want to consider other choices before going with Suburban Relocation Service.

  10. Suburban relocation system Dallas tx.

I relocated from Illinois to Texas with this company and they were on time no hitches professional and courteous made my transfer smooth transition I would definitely used them again and again.
