  1. Do Not Use This Company!!

DO NOT USE SUMMIT VAN LINES. I hate to speak negatively about a company on a social site but Summit Van Lines has mishandled my shipment, doctored documents and tried taking advantage of my father who is a senior. On top of that their driver was speaking very badly about Summit Van Lines. He was complaining about how he tried quitting multiple times but that the company keeps offering him more money to stay. While unloading my possesions he broke many of them and of other people's loads because he was frustrated that they were in the way of him getting to my stuff.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I MEANT TO USE NATIONAL VAN LINES BUT STUMBLED ONTO THESE CROOKS BY MISTAKE.

These guys do not care about your furniture and possessions. They advertise that they will pack, disassemble and reassemble for you. Their packing is shotty with old blankets that are worn down and not usable. They did disassemble but they refused to reassemble because the driver said he did not disassemble so he cannot reassemble (that was not my problem). Not to mention how many things of mine they lost.

Be forewarned that you are placing your stuff in peril if you use SUMMIT VAN LINES. I offered them many opportunities to make it right but they have not. the managers do not help. Carmen Guzman, Guy, Adam Green, Charles.. none of them are helpful but instead give you a run around. Kenneth is the only one that was helpful.

Not sure how they have such a good rating but I would venture to say that their score may also be doctored by simply omitting bad reviews. I am sure thales same will happen with this one.

If you use these guys I wish you luck.

  2. Very Happy Cusomter.

Our family had used Summit a few times. We did so because we have been very happy with the service. I have a few homes and I use Summit exclusively because of the price and quality of service. I have used other moving companies in the past. I choose to continue to use Summit because nothing breaks, and everyone is very personable and respectful to our items. This particular move wasnit that large but our others have been. I opine that Summit will do a great job for you.

    Thank you,
    Jim.

  3. All around great experience.

The idea of moving makes me wants to crawl back into bed and cancel the whole thing. I'm so thankful that I called Moving Kings by chance to get a quote. From the first phone call I knew this move was going to be different. For the first time in my life I was able to relax during the insane process of moving all the belongings in one house to another house.
The folks from Moving Kings were professional, polite, and worked at a pace I was very happy with. I felt like my belongings were in good hands, and they were. The entire process went very smoothly and without complications, which is AMAZING compared to how stressful moving usually is. Extremely satisfied with the service I received, thank you!

  4. Moving.

Thank you for the movers from this company they were so good and helpful they were polite and courteous and respected my belongings they came in packed up my two bedroom apartment professionally and got it on the truck when I arrive to my other place they helped me bring everything into the correct rooms and when I went to unpack everything I found that there was nothing broken everything that I had labeled fragile they had took very very good care of and I very appreciate that thank you for all your hard work guys.

  5. On Memorial Day!

I couldn’t believe how amazing this company is, they were able to move me on a day thar no one else wanted to work. They were priced right and was able to do it fast. Thank you so much!!

  6. Summit van line moving rating.

Summit van line is a great moving service. They moved me from my old residence in west palm beach all the way to my new location of whiteplains New York no haste. They did a great job , nothing broken, missing or lost during the move. A perfect move I would say and would definantly give them a call first if I ever go to move back to my old residence in West Palm beach Florida.

  7. Summit van lines are great!

Thank goodness for.Summit Van Lines, they moved my father from Maryland to Florida, at the lowest quoted rate, stuck to the price, did the move on time, quickly and efficiently.. plus the customer service was good and the movers were helpful. I was relieved, since, other moving companies were trying to nickle and dime me, quoting additional fees, for" having to move a few thing up a flight of basement stairs!" I had never heard of anything like that. Then, I call Summit and they gave me a good quote with no additionsl ffees and stuck to it. I would recommend Summit van lines to anyone moving and will only use them, from this day forward!

  8. Excellent Experience!!

This was the first time I ever moved so far Florida to Atlanta. I had so much anxieties having someone else other than my family helping me move. But I must say Summit Van Lines made me feel so comfortable with my belongings. They were very gentle and they even called me on the road a few times. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Great Experience!! Thank you for all you did!

  9. Don't Use This Firm For Your Move!!

I had the smallest move possible, below their minimum requirements for a move, but still they managed to misplace my large box with the highest dollar value (and personal value) and a brand new vacuum cleaner. I actually believe they stole the box because it doesn't make sense that my biggest box was misplaced somewhere and can't be found?? I'm so upset because all I got was a sorry and I didn't get ANY money back from the insurance either because I didn't take photos. I had receipts of the most expensive items, for example a minor stock of jewelry for my eCommerce store (yes, I know that was stupid but my tiny car was packed to its fullest and I needed space for my two dogs), but no photos so I didn't get a single cent back.

Don't be as naive as me believing they will take full responsibility for your things. Expect the worst and take photos of EVERYTHING. I will never use a moving service again. Did I tell you that my nightstand was broken too. They messed up 50% of my stuff!! They told me when I called that they were checking with prior deliveries, but they never called back when they promised. I had to call and call to get any answer whatsoever.

  10. Nothing but frustration since delivery date of June 29018.

Summit Van lines handled our move from Florida to Georgia. The initial pack and pickup was no problem. However since our delivery date of June 29th; we have encountered nothing but frustration to the point that I now must speak out.
When we moved; we selected the increased valuation of $10,000.00 vs a standard valuation of .60 per pound. Meaning if there were losses or damages(many) that the industry standard would have paid us about $72.00 vs. making an offer based upon full replacement value which was estimated by the moving company at $6556.70
The moving company approved a claim to be opened by their "claims department" MOVINGCLAIMS.NET After sending claims packages to them on three different occasions starting in July 2018; they approached us with a "settlement offer" of 72.00 based on their findings that the bill of lading and order for service "clearly stated a standard valuation of .60 per pound" and that I could submit a one time dispute based upon new information. When I informed Charlie (one of the owners) about the error that was made he too said I must file a dispute. This was done on December 5th; A month later I still have nothing to show for my efforts.
Summit Van Lines working in collusion with MovingClaims.net has done everything they can to dissuade me from filing a complaint against them. I have no choice at this point to submit this review.

  11. Horrible company DO NOT USE.

Our move was from Florida to PA. We kept our things in Summit Van Lines storage for almost a year paying $345 monthly to keep our possessions safe.

Therefore when we received our things we were beyond excited and had trust in the company. Especially since Mr. Sammy Perets, the Relocation Specialist, that originally saw us was extremely professional and friendly. We trusted that everything was going to be beyond our satisfaction. And that was far from the truth. We received many of our high value items either damaged, completely broke, with mold all over it or infested with rat feces. Two hutches with broken support braces, 42’ tv that has damaged side menu buttons broken, 50’ tv that was bent in half, a deep freezer with dents and chipped all over, a double stroller with mold spores all over it, a playpen with mold and a box that had sealed food full of rat feces and the rats completely ate through it. We were told by the driver if there’s anything wrong just to let Summit Van Lines know. As a matter of fact the assistant that was with the driver showed us the television that was bent. He showed my husband because he didn’t want to see me upset. We are your typical American hardworking family. A 50’ tv is something we worked hard for. It was obvious it was completely mishandled.

In the claim I was only allowed two pictures per item. The claim process is long for no reason. My husband and I were completely insulted at the settlement of $70 when that amount won’t even replace one of those items. We then disputed that amount. Our move was in March 2018. It’s now December and we have yet to hear anything.

Thousands were given to Summit Van Lines and they completely robbed us of our money, trust and we feel violated. The least they can do is compensate us so we can replace these items. Even after I contacted them I didn’t even receive an apology letter. Very likely we will need a moving company again in the near future and obviously will not use Summit Van Lines and will prevent any of our friends or family from hiring them. It’s a complete nightmare.

  12. Find someone else.

Packing:wardrobe boxes, were turned upside down in truck. One had no bar, clothes on hangers just thrown in with other things on top.

Areas started packing then move to something else. I had to go behind them call attention to missed items.

Legs and remotes for beds not packed with bed.

    Left all their trash behind.

Unload: day late and could think of nothing but getting to the next job. Boxes not put in right rooms.

Desk and entertainment center damaged. Given different stories as how to get reimbursed. Bet I never do.

  13. Do Not Use!

This company is a disgrace and is HORRIBLE! DO NOT USE!! They are fraudulent, and employ deceptive paperwork/sales techniques, & delay tactics on simple claims.

    Prior to Moving Day:
I had received quotes from other van lines, and Summit was the cheapest. The sales associate, Sammy, was convincing. We were told that we would have our own trailer and it would be a direct shipment from FL to PA. He asked me when I wanted it delivered, and I stated the first week in August, as I would be traveling up to PA just to receive my goods. I was told multiple times that this date would work. We also purchased extra insurance, as my goods and belongings were in mint condition and expensive.

    Moving day:
In late July, the truck and workers showed up on time. These guys were great. They were careful when packing my belongings. Nothing was damaged. They took their time wrapping my goods, carrying them two flights of stairs, and loading them carefully into the truck. I was impressed until we were told that we were over our "box allotment". I had packed my goods myself, and in boxes in all shapes and sizes. Regardless of size, I was limited to the number of boxes to be taken. I.e. if I was only allowed 40 boxes total, it didn't matter if those boxes were shoe boxes. Only the count mattered. I called Sammy, since I looked into the truck and saw that there was a half a truck that was empty still, and my belongings would no question fit. Sammy got it ironed out with the workers at my home, and all was fine again. Prior to leaving my home with my goods, I again confirmed my delivery date as being 8 days from Moving Day. They confirmed.

    8 days later:
I traveled to PA to receive my goods. I hadn't heard from the company so I called them that morning, and I was informed that my belongings never left the state of FL. I was fed excuse after excuse until I screamed this was unacceptable and I needed my items ASAP! How unprofessional and rude can a company be to someone who traveled up to PA just to receive their goods, and never tell them their items never left the state of origin! Charlie, the representative I spoke to, apologized, and said my items would be there in two days.

    2 days later:
My items finally came. However, almost EVERY PIECE OF BEDROOM FURNITURE WAS DAMAGED. How could this have happened? I was then told that my belongings were unloaded into a warehouse once they left my home in FL, and then repacked! This was NOT what we were promised! I WAS PROMISED A SINGLE, DEDICATED, DIRECT TRUCK FL TO PA. We were lied to just to give them our business! The workers were embarrassed at the damage, and urged me to take pictures and file claims. My new bedroom furniture was scraped on the sides, dented in, and scratched. My guest bedroom furniture was even worse! A HOLE was punched in the back of my dresser. The dresser was dropped on a corner, and the corner was crushed in. There are scratches, dents, and scuffs over end tables, head and footboards, benches, and media center. They lost TWO large, expensive mirrors of mine somewhere in the warehouse. Hundreds of dollars' worth of glass, plates, decorative items were shattered. Lamp shades were dented in and had to be thrown away. Dining room furniture was scraped and scratched. The only positive of the day were the workers, as they were polite, kind, and professional.

    The claims process:
The claims process is meant to discourage people from filing claims, as it takes THAT much time, energy, and research. You are instructed to work with a third party claims company (movingclaims.net). THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL FRAUD. The documentation you need to submit a claim is unbelievable. Everything must be physically printed (in color) and mailed in. This took us several weeks to complete, as we would uncover more damage/items that never made it to the house as we unpacked and took inventory. We submitted our claim in October, which was an entire thick packet of information. In December, we were given another chance to add more items, which we declined to do so even though we discovered more missing items, as it took so much time to complete the first time around, and we just wanted to be done with it. It was March, and we still hadn't heard. We followed back up, shortly after, THEY OFFERED US $64 TOTAL! The claim we submitted was for approx. $2,500! We immediately responded stating this is unacceptable! They came with another offer..$94! And stated this was THEIR FINAL OFFER! After countless emails, to Movingclaims.net, which is accountable for nothing,we were told that we had to go back to Summit to settle the claim. Charlie from Summit was seemingly unaware of our claim and we were asked THREE MORE TIMES to file ANOTHER CLAIM! We stated we will NOT do that, as this has been MONTHS of delay tactics and fraud. Still today, we have NO resolution.

  14. Bad experience.

Unfortunately I had an awful experience with summit van lines. Firstly, it does say in the contract your belongings may take up to 21 days to reach its final destination, however we were reassured it would be no longer than 7-10days. Our belongings were delivered 20-21 days after set moving date. The driver attempted several times to increase the moving cost at arrival despite signing a contract at date of move out. Some of our furniture was never delivered. Other furniture, packed by the movers, including our dresser and tv stand arrived completely destroyed. The furniture and clothes that did survive the move presented with an awful odor. When it came to reporting a claim, it was a chaotic process that took large amount of time and effort. We finally receives a settlement 3 months later that was laughable at best and did not cover even the items they did not deliver. By far worst moving experience to date.

  15. Horrible Experience.

Summit Van Lines moved us from Florida to Tennessee at a cost of $11,000. Only after the driver left did we discover the damaged property and missing box. To the tune of approx $10,000 to repair or replace. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Short story regarding our claim: since we did not identify these damages on the day of delivery, we were out of luck. And this after having paid additional $1,000 for replacement insurance.
Summit was dismissive, unprofessional, and totally deserving of my ZERO STARS rating.
