  1. Fantastic move, thanks!

Our family moved internationally with Transcontinental. I was pretty stressed out about it and spent a lot of time researching companies before choosing them. They offered the most reasonable quote, weren't pushy in any way and were
upfront about all costs and there were no surprises. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful each step of the way and answered all of my questions so promptly. They wrapped the furniture with care and placed items where I wanted them in our new place. I can't thank them enough for making a stressful time easy and we will definitely contact them for our next move!

  2. Horrible experience so far.

Customer service great to deal with before you commit. Quite passive aggressive after. Unwilling to take blame for messing things up. The move started with a guy with a small truck showing up on the sag of move, claiming he was not given the big truck. He could only move half the stuff as a result. Ever since then, getting them to move the remainder had been a nightmare. They keep pushing the date. Today was the confirmed date and no show yet. At the point I am not even hopeful of receiving all my items, looking at the other reviews which I missed somehow. Praying that everything does arrive though when I am not sure. There are no good movers but this was one of the worst so far.

  3. Do NOT use this company!

I recently used this company as my mom was moving from Toronto to Vancouver. I initially spoke with Andy, who was pleasant and very professional.
After researching and getting many quotes from various companies, we decided to go with Transcontinental.
The pickup portion of this move was excellent. The movers were efficient and packed everything nice and neat for my mom. I wish this was the case on the delivery.
When the shipment arrived, it was a mess. My moms custom book case was broken, boxes were crushed, luggage handle was torn, furniture was scratched and the bed frame somehow went missing.
We were not impressed at all on the delivery.
I am not sure where things went sideways, but I wouldn't recommend using this company for your move.

  4. Cross-country move.

I used this company to move from Montreal to Victoria. The move was a little complicated, as it involved 2 pick-up locations, and two pianos (one was an imported grand piano and the second upright piano was at a third location) The packing and pick-up went like clockwork. There were a few hiccups on delivery end (the truck was a few days late), but this made me appreciate the company even more, because any problem that arose was dealt with honestly and professionally, with courtesy and commitment to service. I found Levent and his team to be highly competent and extremely trustworthy. I would highly recommend this company.

  5. International move from Montreal to Philadelphia.

We used this company to move from Montreal to Philadelphia. The service provided was exceptional. We agreed on a pickup and delivery scheduled and it was respected. All of our things were delivered within 4 days, as planned. Staff was professionnal in every respect, starting with Levent who was always easily reachable. The price was very reasonable too. All in all, I highly recommend this company.

  6. Transcontinental Moving & Storage.

I used online site "The Relocator" to gather quotes for my move from Connecticut to Quebec. I received about 8 unique quotes, but the one I received from Transcontinental Moving & Storage was surprisingly low compared to the others. As they were so inexpensive, I decided to read up on their online reviews and noticed an even split between good and bad. So, I decided to use them.
Now that the move is complete I must say I have no idea how they ever received a bad review. My move was scheduled for March 2017, and it was the week of a major blizzard in the N.E.; Transcontinental Moving & Storage went out of their way to insure that the move was successful under horrible weather conditions. The office staff was attentive and did everything possible to make my move successful. The movers were professional, fast and friendly. Nothing was damaged or lost. They walked me through the customs process and I had no problems clearing my goods.
These guys are top notch and I highly recommend them.

  7. Moving from Quebec to Colorado.

One of the worse experiences of my life! I moved from Montreal to Colorado. Before I signed the contract, I was told it would take 8 to 14 days, but it took 28 days for my things to arrive. When I called to find out the status, I was lied to and told it was on its way. This happened several times. On day 23 day, I called and was told it should arrive in a couple of days. Not 15 minutes later, I got a call from the salesman asking for a copy of my passport. My stuff had not even left the city and they were just getting around to checking the documents. When my stuff finally arrived, they had 2 local guys unload the truck. They scratched my new bedroom set and bumped into furniture. The price was 15% higher than the quote and I asked for the truck weigh bills. I was given weigh bills from the two smaller trucks that picked my stuff up at my house. I really had no way to verify the weight because there were other things on the smaller trucks when they arrived at my house. I also incurred extra hotel and food expenses which were not reimbursed (not in the contract). My recommendation is pay the extra and go with Atlas. They guarantee their deliveries!

  8. Mtl to NJ.

I'm writing this review a few months after using these guys to make sure I still felt pleased with their service and plus, I've been really busy. I was skeptical as I read the negative review. But they came through with shining colors. I was getting a lot of furniture sent to me across the border. They walked me through the form(s). Overall, they answered all my questions and arrange the move of the furniture from a storage facility to their facility and kept it there until ready for shipping. I had to wait a couple weeks for an exact date. They do the north east corridor so they lined up enough customers for a full truck run and I was probably the first in NJ. They were off to Maryland next. The exchange on the Canadian dollar helped a lot making it the best deal. I had called and filled out online inquiries and spoke with 4 or 5 shippers and ended up with 4 quotes in a spreadsheet. I saved so much money with them, that I over tipped the movers who brought everything in. Granted, they tried the old "oh, they didn't tell me about the 2nd floor walkup and that will be more $$" but I rolled with it and tipped them well as I was planning to. I'm still pleased with them overall and I'd use them again.

  9. Highly Recommended.

Transcontinental went above and beyond with customer service and the crews on both ends were very professional.
My wife and I moved from Dallas Texas to Calgary AB.
They picked us up in the window and delivered right on time as told to us.
The estimate was right on except for an additional fee of $150 for packing which was explained to us prior to packing.
I highly recommend this company and would definitely do business with them again

    Robert.

  10. Avoid at any cost.

I used them to move my stuff from Canada to US. The reason I went with them is because they gave the best quote.

But I realized my mistake when they delivered my stuff with 2 boxes missing. Those two boxes included perfumes, hair straightening road, toaster and stuff. A very coservative estimate of $500 ..

Driver response: we delivered what we got from the warehouse. They did not even bother to go over the checklist.

Official response: offered me 60cents/lb. $50 for the two boxes. It is a scam. Pull out some stuff and offer insurance which half of moving charges. I will take legal opinion and if possible, slap charges. Avoid at any cost! I won't mind sharing my experience with you to avoid you the pain. Write me at for more details.

  11. Move from outside montreal to Rhode Island.

Not sure what is average as I don't do this often (thank God)
Communication: The quote was reasonable --but the actual was a bit more - but that is understandable I guess. When I made the arrangement the person didn't give me info about expected duration between pickup and delivery- until I realized this and called a week later to ask - he said 4-10 days- ( a bit of a shock) and I had to call a couple times after pickup  to get an update for delivery. The pickup guys were very good at protecting the stuff and  efficient --i packed everything myself but they disassembled the  sofa and the bed - Delivery--- different guys - refused to reassemble the sofa and bed-  they just wanted to leave- I had to call their office  who told them to reassemble it.  There was a metal floor lamp the base of which I had not yet  disassembled (I packed the glass shade), but the metal base arrived broken at a junction that was not the unscrewable site - not fixable.

So.. Attitude of the delivery guys - not good - as well as overall communication not great (although one person was very good about explaining and helping me with the forms for the border.) I never got an impression of any of them really interested in wanting to please. So overall- "meh".

  12. Move.

Transcontinental Moved my Mother in law in December 2014. They quoted me a price of $1970 for 3200 lbs to go from Toronto to Vancouver. I had no additional charges and was delivered in the time frame as promised. They always kept me up to date when I called for updates of where her goods were They were easy to work with and I highly recommend this company. They took all the stress out of the move They definitely went the extra mile
Thank you guys for a job well done.
