  1. This Company is a Scam.

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I can't even begin to describe how terrible my experience was with this company. They pretend to be nice to you at the start, but after they take your things, you'll realize you've made a mistake working with this company. Not only were the movers bad, but the customer service was TERRIBLE. I spoke with a lady named Delilah on the phone who made every step in the process miserable. They added on additional charges at every stop, lost more than$750 worth of stuff during the moving process. They say they'll only pay back $173, and its been a year and I have YET to receive anything. They are now not answering emails or calls. They also damaged several of my things.

I will never make the mistake of using this company for moving again, and I advise EVERYONE not to use them.

  2. Long distance move from South Carolina to New Hampshire.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They're a scam. I could tell you the whole story but it would take too long. You can never get a hold of anyone, they never can tell you when your stuff is getting delivered, they broke at least 8 things of mine. What a nightmare.

  3. The Entire Moving Process.

For those of you who are considering using this company to move your items..think again. Not only did the people who packed our items (in Michigan) steal jewelry (my mother-in-laws wedding ring and items from my wife's jewelry box), but they damaged articles (framed items). The items were stored for a little over 30 days and when we received them we found that several of the items had been moved from their original packaging (my wife packed a majority of the items. Once we were finished unpacking all of the items we realized that there were several items missing. It seems as though when the items were moved from storage to the moving truck..they left several boxes at the storage facility. We didn't realize this until several weeks later when we were looking for certain things.

I highly recommend you do not hire this company and use anyone else for your moving. Also, I tried to talk to someone at their company (Ben who is the Claims Director). When I originally got in touch with him to report the theft he promised that he would look into it and get back to me within 24 hours. When 72 hours passed and he didn't contact me I called him again..he has been completely avoiding me since them (this has gone on for over two months). The brokers who hired this moving company (Independent Moving Solutions) has contacted them several times as well. The people at Independent Moving Solutions were told that they would call me..and they never did.

I can't tell you how fed up I am with these people..they are thieves and liars..don't ever use them.

  4. Poor practices and no consideration.

Absolutely horrible. Shawn King was the saleperson who called me about the estimate. Extremely pushy, then dismissive when he has your business. My account was overdrawn due to his error and he has done nothing to fix it. The move out was great, the move in to the new place was incomprehensible. One mover walked out on the job because he felt the other mover was disprespecting him. This was after calling me expletives and demanding a tip. My mother and I were left to help the one mover do the work I paid them to do. Multiple things were broken including a solid wood table. Transworld was initially very difficult to contact regarding my claim and complaint of treatment from the moving team, and now I am completely unable to get ahold of anyone by any means. Despite going through the BBB I have heard nothing from them and received no reimbursement for my overdraft fee, broken items, or labor my mother and I performed. Stay away.

  5. Awful.

This is scam. I lost thousands of dollars. Do not believe good movers.com reviews - they are fake. I was just trying to submit a real one, and the website does not allow submitting a one star review! Scam!

  6. Worst ever!

Terrible customer service! They used more space on the truck than the size of our apartment. They would not let us remove anything. They did not stand by anything. Couldn’t get anyone to return our phones calls. At $5,000 move turned into $10,000 move. Ridiculous! Basically have only said sorry but it’s the drivers word against yours. Never again. Lesson learned.

  7. Terrible!

Run away from this. I am in the process of my move from Houston to Atlanta right now. Have spoken to 4 different managers who all don’t know what’s going on and where my stuff is. If you already work with them, make sure Benjamin Wilson is not part of it. Incompetent and rude. My move is already 2 days delayed and they don’t know where the stuff is and what’s going on! Also, on the day of packing they tried to pressure me to pay more vs. quote in the binding contract. Terrible!

  8. Do Not Use!!

Buyer beware, Transworld Van Lines canceled the moved TWO DAYS before the scheduled pick up. A deposit was made for the move. It has now been THREE months and still no refund. I have been told on FOUR separate occasions "the check is in the mail." Today, I was told the "check would not be generated until the 1st" - another 25 days. Be advised you will probably NEVER receive a refund from this company. I get a different story each time I call.

  9. Bad Experience/Dishonest Service.

Do not use this company. The salesman was polite but not thorough and omitted, either by design or otherwise, important information we should have known. But most of the information he did provide was contradicted by the on-site foreman. For example, we purchased additional insurance but were told upon completion of the delivery that there were three deductible options but since we didn’t chose one, our deductible, should a claim be filed, was $500.00. No inventory was ever taken or provided by the movers consequently, the cost of several missing items could not be paid by claim since there was no record of those items having been moved. Payment was also an issue. On delivery day the movers refused to unload the truck until final payment was made and it had to be by credit card only. Payment was discussed with the Salesman who told us that any type of payment was acceptable and that final payment would be made after satisfactory completion of delivery. The on-site foreman told us that that was not standard industry practice and that the truck would be unloaded only after full payment was made. We noted on the invoice that we were charged for services not provided; their response was “file a claim”. We did and the claim included damages to our baby grand piano, charges for crating our glass dining room table (which arrived in a blanket), and for missing items, I.e., step ladder, dishes, and ceramic items. When the Movers returned to our house to pick up the items they left (tools, blankets, 12 wardrobe boxes, and some personal items) they took pictures of the damage to the piano and promised to return with our step ladder. The claim was denied in its entirety based on the lack of an inventory and no back up photographs. We also noted that the truck was not properly sealed so we refused to initial next to the seal numbers noted on the invoice. When we made final payment we noticed the seal numbers listed on the invoice were initialed by the “owners.” If you care about your valuables, do your homework and look elsewhere.

  10. Willful breakage.

Driver sent out with new hire helper and driver instructed helper on how to handle glass top. Helper dropped and broke two large pieces of glass. Driver was very angry at the breakage. We paid to crate glass but it was uncrated on truck and dropped from mishandling.

A glass top table was also broken. The metal legs were never returned to us so essentially the company stole our property.

Company refuses to compensate us. We are going to pursue in court. If you decide to to use this company, be sure and buy extra insurance and be prepared to have surprise charges imposed once they have possession of you things.

As a result of this experience I have done research that shows this company has a number of unsatisfied customers. Be particularly wary when dealing with agent Ernie Mc Nab.

  11. Scam Kings Transworld Van Lines.

    1) Fraud Complaint Against Transworld Van Lines, Dolphin Moving Systems and Commercial Moving Solutions.             We engaged Dolphin Moving Systems to move us from Largo, FL to PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, FL.  Ernie McNab, the company's Sales Representative, quoted us a price for packing, loading, and delivering to our new home in the amount of $3,928.  This did not include storage.  Mr. McNab said the amount could be a little less or a little more, and said this was an estimate but should be very close to the actual amount.  After looking at the references from Arpin Van Lines on the literature he left us and looking at Better Business Bureau for complaints we decided to go with Mr. McNab's company.  The packers came on time, did a good job packing and did a good job loading the truck the next day.2) We received a call from the Company saying they wanted us to pay the bill a couple of days later.  I asked that the bill be emailed.  When I received the email, the bill had gone up $768 more than we agreed upon.  The girl in the office said she didn't know anything about that.  She put me on with her Supervisor, Steven Stillins, who told me the bill was more because we needed more packing supplies and we had more weight.  I asked for the Weigh Ticket, but never received one, but nevertheless agreed to pay the extra amount.  Steve Stillins asked for all money up front; I said that was not what I agreed to with Ernie McNab.  I agreed to pay for the local moving charges ($2,419) and would pay the balance upon delivery to my new home in PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, FL.  Steve Stillins then told me the $4,695 wasn't for the move to Port St. Lucie but, rather, just for the local move up the street to their warehouse.  Ernie McNab had told me the amount was for delivery to the new home and it is right on the Order for Service that is their contract.  I told Steve Stillins he must be insane to think we would hire his company for $4,700 to move us down the street.  Based on that I told him I wouldn't pay anything until he resolved this.  He said he would check with his boss, Greg Dolphin, the owner's son, and he would change the contract to "Binding" and we would pay the balance of the $4,695 when we received our furniture and possessions.  I asked him to send me an email to this effect and he did.  This email has been included in the documentation submitted to Wells Fargo relative to this dispute.3) When we called the Company after closing on our new home in PGA Village to schedule delivery, we were shocked to hear the amount due for delivery was going to be $6,416 (in addition to the $2,419 we had already paid).  This would have meant a total to move across state of $8,835!  The top fee should have been approximately $5,900, less the $2,419 already paid, leaving a balance of approximately $3,511.  This amount would include storage for our furniture for five weeks, at $300 a week (approximately $1,500) to be kept on the originally loaded trailer (see Order for Service).  We were told if we didn't agree to their additional fees we could not receive our furniture and they "would put it back in storage."  This was directly told to me by Ernie McNab and he further said we could have someone else pick it up if we didn't agree.4) Another point of dispute is that we paid the $300 per week to keep our furniture on the originally loaded trailer.  Ernie McNab told us it would be better to leave our furniture on the originally loaded trailer to avoid unloading everything and then reloading it to avoid damage.  The fee to house it in their warehouse would be $266.80 a month, much cheaper than $300 per week, but we opted to pay the extra to avoid damage to our possessions.  When the truck came to deliver our furniture it was a completely different truck than the one that was loaded at our previous home and two other family's belongings were loaded in there also.5) Because the trailer was unloaded and reloaded, there was damage.  The original trailer was loaded safely and packed beautifully at our former home.  When the different trailer arrived at our new home boxes were smashed, items were broken.  Their driver, Vinnie, said he couldn't believe how poorly the trailer was loaded and he couldn't get our custom dining room table out because it was smashed against the load bars and sustained damage.  We have a $3,500 glass bowl that was broken when we unpacked it (we have pictures); we have a missing $500 chest and stand; and other assorted broken glassware. TRANSWORLD VAN LINES has been (CLOSED) since 9-23-2011 (www.sunbiz.org) yet they STILL DEFRAUD people under that name.

  12. Trans World Van Lines - HORRIBLE.

I called several times and each time was told Lena was in a meeting and that the owner of the company was on the road.  Extremely poor customer service.  Lena finally called at 10:03 a.m. and said she had bad news.  She said that my stuff would not be delivered until next week.  I told her that was unacceptable and BS.  She said that they were trying to find a truck that they could put my stuff on.  I told her this was not my problem and that the company messed up and needed to get my stuff her by Friday.  I told her I didn’t think I should have to pay for the second delivery as they did not fulfill their obligation.  She kept saying she understood and would talk to the owner.  I find that interesting because she was saying that all along and nothing was done.  I demand the furniture be here by Friday and she said I would have to pay an additional $800 to make that happen.  Really?  That is F!!King BS!!  So they could make it happen for an additional $800?  Really?  What kind of business/operations are they running here.  I told them that I would not be paying that they would.  I continued to complain but was getting blown off as several times prior.  Also, Lena informed me that this was not a direct move.  Where is the contract did it say that?  My brother-in-law called several times today to try to assist me to get answers but the company was extremely rude and sarcastic to him. They put his telephone number into a “movers call list” which he then began receiving calls every 5 minutes from other moving companies; very unprofessional on Trans World Van Lines.  I sent 4 emails to Lena Miller asking for an update and was ignored and no response.  When I called back at 5:00, Ernie/Larry, whatever his name is, answered the phone and was very sarcastic and rude.  He indicated that he was the only one in the office and would have someone return my call.  You could hear people laughing in the background.  So they don’t take care about their customers and trying to please their customers.  After waiting all day to get a phone call I received a call at 9:39 from Lena Miller and this was her response; “The determination was tentative for the end of the month, possibly sooner. I will touch base with you as I have throughout the week. Please do not ask Mr. Newhart to call the office, as he has been instructed not to contact our office again. His harassing manor is very disruptive and unnecessary.”  This is unacceptable to have to wait a month for my stuff.  The company is unprofessional and do not put their customer first.   I would never recommend this company to anyone for a move.  The people are rude, inefficient, no organizational or customer service skills and they lie.  It’s a HORRIBLE Company.   .

  13. Fraud, Deception & Poor Customer Service.

Contracted above company to move my furniture & household goods from Inverness, Florida, to Washington, PA.   Was given a guaranteed price contract and made deposit when furniture picked up & taken to storage.   When time for delivery of furniture the company increased the price with the excuse that summer deliveries cost more.  Held furniture for ransom until price demands were met.   The salesman, Ernie McNab, office worker Danielle were among the rudest and most callous individuals I've ever encountered in a service company.    The company also forged documents to credit card company in order to justify their charge.   Would like to see their company investigated for illegal business practices.
