  1. Excellent from start to finish!

Our moving experience with Tru-Pak was absolutely top-notch. We would like to thank Margaret for seamlessly handling all of the logistics and working with us on our moving schedule, meeting our requests at every turn. Justin and Zach, our movers were cheerful, easy to work with and extremely thorough! They worked pretty much non-stop on a very hot summer day to get the job done and took great care with our belongings. Upon arrival in NC, Justin and his assistant provided the same great service with the same great attitude. Tru-Pak was highly competitive in their pricing and truly made our move easy! We were so pleased with the entire experience and would recommend Tru-Pak highly! .

  2. Parent's Move.

My moving experiences with Trupak have been exemplary.  The movers have always been on time, had great attitudes and handled our belongings with care.  In addition to handling belongings carefully, they were kind and considerate to my aging parents.  This was deeply appreciated at what was a very tender time.  No complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend their services.

  3. New Job from state to state.

Tru-Pak moved me from Richmond, VA to Charlotte, NC. You really could not ask for a more helpful group of guys. They told me they would be there at 8:00 am, they got there at 7:55 and phoned from the parking lot. I lived on the 3rd floor of an older building with no elevator. They had to take doors off due to narrow doors in the older building and I wasn't finished packing. They finished packing for me, wrapped my furniture and delivered my furniture in Charlotte without a scratch. They were so kind to others that lived in my building. I would recommend Darrell and Wally (I think those were the names) from Tru-Pak. Communication was awesome. Thanks for a great experience.

  4. Poor Experience.

My company had asked me to move from North Carolina to California. They had me an amount to help with the move in hopes of making the transition as smooth as possible. I chose Tru-Pak because of a personal relationship my girlfriend had with one of their employees. Thus, against my better judgment, I did not compare quotes and services of any other companies. This ended up being one of my poorest experiences with a customer services based company I have ever encountered. Upon receiving the initial quote, I asked every pertinent question I could think of and presented every negative scenario that could play out. All of which, I was promised would be covered and was encompassed into the agreement I was given.
I was originally told it would take 10-14 days to travel across the country. Therefore, I did my best to plan accordingly. I termed my lease in NC trying to give myself adequate time to meet their crew in Los Angeles. However, it ended up taking them the full 14 days and their internal team told me my things would be arriving two days earlier than when they finally showed up. Thus, I sped across country to accommodate their schedule, which in turn led to the expenditure of two nights in a hotel. I was also told they would be charging me an additional $600 to have my things unloaded from a semi-truck to a U-Haul because they did not believe they could park the Semi close enough to our apartment. This is when my frustration kicked in and I addressed the issue with the Sales Rep. whom told me this charge was not justified because I was given a guaranteed quote. However, she could not go on record saying that. In other words she was going to let me take the charge if they could not in fact park a “Semi-Truck” in a residential area (which is completely unpractical in the first place and I was never told my things would be transferred from the original truck to a semi). Luckily they were able to park the truck “close enough” to my apartment to not charge the additional $600.
Lastly, upon arrival my television screen was completely shattered. You would think the first response would be an apology, but instead they instantly started to blame other members of their moving team because no one wanted to take responsibility. The supervisor of the crew called the Owner, whom they all continuously told me how wealthy this man was, and he had promised to replace the television in a timely fashion. Now, two months later, the only accomplishment has been finding a comparable T.V. at half the cost I originally paid. The original check that was issued was made out to the wrong persons and did not include the 9.5% state sales tax which they agreed to pay. To this day I have still not been made whole. Needless to say, I would never recommend this company to anyone and I will not be surprised if they are sued somewhere down the road by someone whom has the money and time to do so.    .

  5. Price Gouging & Mininformation.

This company overquoted by $7,000 to deliver my household goods to Caye Caulker, Belize. Additionally, they assured me it was a door-to-door service and the price was all inclusive. When I asked for an iteimized quote it was never delivered. When I decided to do my own research I learned that it was not door-to-door and that the price was inflated by over $7,000. I decided to have an international shipping company deliver a container to be loaded from their warehouse. I was quoted a price to "load" the container and asked many times if there would be additional charges over what I was being quoted. Again, I requested, but never received, an itimized quote in writing. When I began to finalize the loading date and details, I was told the cost would be in excess of 150% of what I was originally told. I made several attempts to contact the owner of the company, but my e-mail and phone calls were blocked by Margaret Tallent. To date they have refused to reach a settlement on the issue, and have refused to honor the quote I was given. They now are refusing to accept my debit card for payment and demand a chasier's check. I have used the debit card for payment repeatedly over the past yr. for fees. I live outside the US and a cashier's check is impossible, so I will now need to get authorities involved to have them release my furniture. I was overquoted, overcharged, and treated with total disrespect. Additionally I was misinformed and flat out lied to about services. I would not recommend Tru-Pak Moving Systems to anyone for anything involving transporting or storing your household goods. Most especially, they have no idea how to handle an international move. I do not know if any items are damaged.

  6. TRU-PAK Failure to comply with Contract.

Ufortunately, I very recently had my household moved by TRU-PAK. I say that because without my insistence, they did not plan to hold to the contracted delivery date and as part of the fixed price contract, TRU-PAK included a charge of $337.00 for specialty boxes. Payment by certified check was required, so I brought one with me in the contract amount. When they arrived to load the truck (which was undersized), I questioned where the boxes were. The driver told me the crew was instructed NOT to bring boxes. I discussed this with the driver and was told I'd need to take it up with the office with a sound of assurance that the situation would be corrected (by price adjustment, obviously; it was to late to return for boxes..IF they would have provided them. Upon deliver of most of my furniture, I gave the driver the certified check for $3300; what else could I do?. Then followed up with the salesperson regarding this situation. I was told she'd look into it and get back to me soon. 5 days laqter. I had no response, even to a follow-up reminder email. I tried to take the issue up the chain, but ultimately, I was told that tro-pak had underestimated the weight and that I should have charged more, therefore they would not refund the $337 I was charged for the boxes. They seem NOT to understand, or are not willing to accept the idea o9f a service contract. My thought is that I was in NC and now I'm in DE, so what am I going to do about it. As an aside, one bookcase out of 4 failed to be delivered to my new home. The response was outright denial referring to "facts" as reported by the driver that were completely erroneous. The bookcase was not of much value so I'm not making an issue of it; I'm much more concerned with being ripped off for $337 by overt refusal to follow the contract. The bottom line of this is that tru-pak is unethical in its business dealings and to avoid a headache and/or financial loss, you'd be wise NOT to do business with them. Buyer beware- be VERY aware. I wish I'd known this before trusting tru-pak to somehow nominally approach the possession of business ethics. Their website does not reference membership in the BBB and I can see exactly why not. This appears to be the only alternative, but these are probably never read. I'll retract this review (or modify it), if tru-pak acts ethically and refunds the money for the un-provided items sold to me. I hope some of you take this review to heart. My loss can be your gain (or lack of loss, perhaps) Bob Reuter, North Carolina   .
