  1. Avoid TX Moving & Storage

They were a ripoff from the very beginning. The move estimate doubled from original estimate. This company cannot be trusted, they will gouge you anyway they can. The guy [NAME EDIT] seemed sincere and honest but every guy in that company are crooks. And believe me I talked to several. They destroyed several items, Piano, desk, valuable curio cabinet. I filed a claim and they are going to send me $80.00. This claim process started in June 2021. They didn’t even consider that they charged me extra to wrap the curio cabinet and they still destroyed it. Then they get to my house wanted more $ for storage. They didn’t even have furniture 30 days yet. They’re just crooks

  2. Contact me!

We originally signed a “Binding Estimate” with American Long Distance Moving and Storage (Job No A4355128) on 4/18/21 for our move from Houston to Jacksonville on 7/03/21, with the promise of delivery on 7/05/21. We had not realized American Long Distance Moving and Storage was a broker and had contracted Tx Moving and Storage for our move. Tx Moving and Storage arrived 7/03/21 on time to load our belongings in an unmarked van and told us everything (including our SleepNumber bed) needed to be packed in cardboard boxes. Our clothes were wrapped in garbage bags so I ran to Lowes and spent $167.67 on large boxes. After repacking our belongings, TX Moving and Storage informed us we were over our cubic feet allotment and the price would increase from $2,199 to $4,137.55, nearly double the quoted rate. Additionally, we were then informed our belongings would not be arriving in 3 days on 7/05/21 (as stated in our American Long Distance Moving and Storage contract). Instead they could take up to 3 weeks (21 days) to arrive. I attempted to reach American Long Distance Moving and Storage but they were closed due to it being the Fourth of July weekend. This put us in a difficult situation as we needed to move that day and could not find another company to work with on short notice on a holiday weekend. We were also told we would lose our $1407.72 deposit if we went with another company. Against our better judgement we signed the Tx Moving and Storage paperwork and again repacked our belongings to try to find items we would need during the next three weeks. Having not heard from TX Moving and Storage after 21 days, we were told we were misinformed and they meant 21 BUSINESS days (not stated in contract). After 21 business days passed, they said they had 30 business days. It has now (8/15/21) been more than six weeks (43 days) without our belongings. We have been forced to sleep on an air mattress and have had to repurchase countless essential items to get by. Attempts to contact with Tx Moving and Storage over the last 12 days have been unsuccessful; they have not answered the phone - having called nearly every half hour - nor responded to emails sent to 4 different email addresses. American Long Distance Moving and Storage states they are also unable to reach TX Moving and Storage. We hope writing this review gets us in contact with the company and no one else has to go through this experience. We will update this review when we get in contact with Tx Moving and Storage. 3. Stay away

This company is a fraud, do not make any payment before they do the job or you will be suing them like I plan to

  4. Thieves and Liars!!!!

I got quoted $4,000 and when the driver arrived he wanted $10,000 or he wouldn’t move my things. I negotiated down and they moved my things. Then the drivers tried to extort another $1,500 when they arrived and basically held my goods hostage for hours. I almost called the police. The sales department still owes me $500 that I overpaid— guess what? The [EDIT] blocked my number and won’t return my money. Total. Thieves.

  5. Took our money, then they hired another company to move us, it's been

3 months ago my daughter contacted, arranged, and paid TX Moving & Storage to move her bedroom furniture and belongings from Oklahoma to Florida. The movers reschedule 3 times and we're late the day of the move. TX Moving and Storage either subcontracted a third party moving company, or sold our info to some other company. A different moving company showed up and loaded everything that my daughter owns. 3 months later, we still do not have the furniture, clothes etc. But TX Storage and Moving has our money..

  6. Great work

Staff from coordinators to mover did excellent work with our 4br home. move happened within a few days as well over to SC. Henry was great always answered all our concerns and was with us until the delivery was made. Few reviews I've read seems like its the clients are lying initially about their items then getting upset that the movers catch them and need to charge accordingly. These guys are great. A+

  7. Beware & Avoid at all costs

I moved from NYC to FL in May 2020 – yes, during the pandemic. Leading up to the actual move, the company was responsive. The original quote based on apt size was low and I knew it would go up once I had the actual dimensions of the contents. After spending a bit of time on the phone giving the count and size of the items, the amount increased 2X to $2500. Not unreasonable.

When the movers arrived, they were professional and worked fast as they were aware I was flying out the next day. Once everything was loaded, they revised the cost another 2X to $5000. I tried calling the responsive contacts that I had been working with and received no answer. They would not unload the contents – holding my property “hostage” in my opinion. Was this a bait and switch?

The movers arrived in FL a week later and quickly unloaded the truck. The condition of the boxes were bad – no tags, a few opened and retaped and missing items - and roaches. I noted it on the receipt. I took pictures as I unpacked. Most fragile items made it okay, except for the ones in the crushed boxes. I left over 20 messages with the company – no one returned my call.

I engaged an attorney who sent a letter. I received one phone call from the company yelling at me for contacting an attorney. We finally had their attention and worked with the adjusters and submitting a claim. After 90 days, they sent me a settlement letter for $18. Next stop, small claims court.

TX Moving and Storage and their partners, Cross Country & Liberty – avoid at costs.

  8. Moving from TX to SC.

This moving company should be reported to the BBB. They quote one price only to double it after my things were on the truck. I dealt with Jeff, who changed his name on me, this company promised 3 guys to load the truck, only one showed up and it took another hour for the other two people to show up, and they were drunk when they got there. One of the movers went and used my bathroom right after getting there, and he never bothered to close the bathroom door and I'm lucky he turned his back. They drank all the water I had reserved in my fridge for me and the move. Over all they came in my home and acted like thugs, doubled the price of my move, stole a TV antenna, held my things in a storage area until I could pay the extra money and Jeff talked to me like he was a hit man and I had to catch a flight out that night but had to cancel because I was not prepared for the movers to take 8 hrs to move a one bedroom apartment when I was promised that it would only take them about 3 hrs to load the truck with my things, and on top of that I had mostly boxes there was not a lot of disassembling and wrapping to do. It cost me 200.00 to change my flight plans because of this company..plus they were a day late and I when I talked to Jeff about missing my flight because of the movers he said oh well..I could have called another mover or got U Haul to do it. After paying the extra charges (5,000 dollars for a one bedroom) I finally get my things..moving from TX to SC..and they send only one guy again..and it takes him all day to unload the truck and he had nerve to ask us to help him move some of the things in!! After paying 5,000.00 I'm not helping. This company insist that you pay cash so the drivers can have cash to spend afterwards. The guy that showed up did what the others did, drank all of the cold beverages and had a bad attitude. I showed him some damage and he said call the company and file a claim. Very unprofessional and shady. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

  9. A++.

Excellent service. Quoted $4,050 for a long distance move from wylie tx to jersey city, nj and must say, only paid my quoted price. Derrick was great and efficient with his work, as were the workers: jose, adam and mike. They were not the cheapest quote but Derrick explained everything about volume down to packing materials and was very patient with us

Highly recommend Tx Moving and storage to anyone looking to get a job well done.

  10. Horrible - Scammers.

Less than one star. He ,(it was just one person)arrived he immediately told me I my quote was not accurate that I would owe additional money. My quote went from $4600 $8000. This was insane. Now, the second guy shows up in a separate vehicle, he told me he did not now the moving company, he picked this job up on Craig's list. So now I have people moving my home that get jobs off craig's list. Now I have a flight to catch the next day, I had already made a sizable deposit (turns out the moving company had not idea what the charges were on the original quote) I asked specifically what does this mean? He told me, Lucky is his name that he didn't know what the charges were on the original quote. So now Lucky the mover associated with TX moving and Storage and the guy he hired off of craig's list proceed to pack my belongings on the truck (it was a rented truck) it didn't have the company's logo on it. So they packed my things, instead of disassembling my kitchen table, they packed it in the truck and I assume packed things on top of it, after they took it to their storage facility to wait until they could get a truck load to bring to Michigan. Apparently the weight of whatever the stored on top of my table, weakened it to the point that the pedestal broke. when my kitchen table arrived it was broken, I did not have a table to eat on. I contacted Lucky he told me to contact the company and file a claim. Not to mention, I had boxes that were packed properly and clearly marked fragile only to find boxes of broken glass. Honestly, I don't know how it is legal to take advantage of people in this manner. I'm still flabbergasted that the young helper said " I don't know him, I got this job off craig's list". Is that even legal?

  11. Very Happy with the guys !

I paid for packing and moving services and am very happy with the service I received.

First, I do want to say that when I had initially reached out to the company, my contact was Derrick. He was very helpful and responsive any time I called. I also appreciated that they reached out a few days before the move to confirm everything with me, which I would've wanted to do if they hadn't. It's these little details that count a lot with me.

Regarding the day of the move, my main contact was David. He helped me make a move from Houston to Charleston, Sc. They packed up all my things for me as promised (I basically didn't do anything and felt super awkward about it), and did so very efficiently. Walter was also very friendly and thoughtful. Due to the pandemic, he had brought hand sanitizer and masks for me.

Upon arriving, they were again very efficient at getting my things where they needed to be. Although I hadn't paid for any disassembling, reassembling, or unpacking services, they were also kind enough to insist they help me put my bed frame back together. This was such a help to me as it would've taken 3x the amount of time doing this completely alone.

Thanks for taking a lot of the stress of moving off my shoulders. Will definitely call up Roadway again for any moves I have in the future.

  12. Price Gougers.

I would not suggest using this company as they will try to price gouge you once they get all of your items on the truck and try to back you into a rate that is way above what was quoted.

I made them take all of my belongings off of the truck once they quoted me $3000 over the original bid.
