  1. Moving Help of U-Haul will charge without their services

Do not hire Moving Help of U-Haul. They are fraud. They do not show up, do not provide services and do not refund money. I hired Moving help to unload U-Haul truck. They did not show up. When I called them, they told me to cancel the services. I had to hire another moving services. Had to take another day off. Paid premium for emergency services. Paid one addition day rent of the U-Haul truck. Moving Help will not refund my money. They told me to contact the movers. Movers told me that Moving Help did not pay them money. Moving help gave me a code to give movers when service is completed. Movers did not show up and I did not give them code. Without code they are not paid.

  2. Hitch Installation

Had reservation to have hitch installed April 28 and paid over $300 online for the service. On arrival at location I noted a homeless person living out of a derelict car in front of the building. I was told hitch did not come in. No one called to inform me. Was told I would be called and rescheduled when it came in. No call. I called several times to be told we will call you. Finally had them agree to give my money back on June 26. Now waiting for the refund.

  3. PART 1-Damage/Fraud/ NEVER NEVER Trust UHaul under ANY circumstances!

    Part 1

How a huge company like uHaul can have such widespread dishonesty & shadiness. From blatant lies & misleading to total negligence with damaging my property to outright credit card fraud. I will NEVER spend a single cent with this company EVER again! I will also be sure to make EVERY person I know aware to NEVER use uHaul!!! I will post reviews & comments in every social media platform & review site to get the word out. #boycottuhaul

Starting with the day of my move, scheduled a month in advance, reserved 2 uBoxes & uHaul's "moving help" service to pick up the boxes from my local uHaul store, deliver & load them & return to uhaul for shipping across country from Los Angeles to South Florida. Scheduled to start in the morning, the moving help guys went to pick up the reserved uBoxes & they were not available, they had to sit for 2 HOURS at the uHaul store waiting until finally were told to go to another location 45min away to pick up the boxes.

When they arrived at that store ( in a really bad part of town & an area that I NEVER approved using) they were told they also did NOT have the boxes ready & they waited another 90 mins, at which time the shady, rude & incompetent manager told them he only had one box & a single trailer, so the movers brought the first box(a 45min drive from my apartment). They started bringing my things down to the street to load, after emptying half of the contents of my apartment down to the street they opened the first box to find it FULL OF SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY!!!! I was having a panic attack! Is this what's going to happen to my things?! We were set to fly out that night to Florida,we were in NO position to change moving plans & had to just pray things would be ok.The guys then had to drive another 45min back to the store to return that full box & exchange for an empty one. The shady, awful manager at that location STILL only had 1 box to give them, they drove all the way back AGAIN. I contacted uHaul support while this was going on to document my complaints & the awful mess in handling my move. The manager of the second location called me back & was rude, sleazy & shady as they come. He tried blaming the issue on one of his employees and proceeded to have the nerve to COMPLAIN TO ME about his employees "laziness" I was just like wow, seriously how is this guy a manager? He then attempted to convince me "they are going to attempt to charge you more for their time, so I will send you this $100 voucher to give them"(rolls eyes). Trying to get ME to deal with his mess by sending a measly $100 voucher to give to the moving guys to compensate for the mess created by uHaul. I said no I won't be getting involved, you need to compensate them accordingly it's not my issue to deal with. I have a contract, nobody is charging ME anything more, the countless mistakes & negligence are all the responsibility and culpability of you & uHaul alone. Now I had 2 angry, irritated guys (w/good reason) handling my possessions, they wanted to be paid for their time and this uHaul jerk was trying to pass it off on me.

He didn't like my response & continued to talk down to me attempting unsuccessfully to manipulate and con me into handling HIS mistakes. I later discovered FRAUD on my credit card that was used at that location THE NEXT DAY at gas stations all around the same area taking out cash off my card. I had to file disputes & cancel my card as a result. Coincidence? I don't think so. I believe this manager is engaging in fraud in partnership with these gas stations around his store. I've been in contact with the state attorney's office to INVESTIGATE uHAUL AND THIS MANAGER FOR FRAUD.

  4. Long distance move.

I researched movers extensively. Pods were only competitive against national van lines. I went with pack rat first. They agreed to the moving schedule I needed, but reneged at a later date close to my scheduled moving date. I called uhaul to inquire about renting a truck and was told about their upod moving system. I took a chance and went with them because they said they could meet my schedule. They dropped the uboxes on the date ordered, picked them up on the date ordered and delivered them 1300 miles away on the agreed upon date. Nothing in all six boxes was damaged, and the price was thousands less than any company. The boxes left a little to be desired as they were plywood covered by a tarp, but they functioned. I would highly recommend the box system. The only problem I had was the long wait on hold during the several times I tried to contact them. Overall a very good experience.

  5. Moving with Uhaul.

Drove from Edmonton to Vancouver. Received moving truck completely filthy. (Previous driver and Uhaul company should have sanitizer the vehicle as per Covid-19 regulations). Tires were bald and considered illegal in Canada. Had to drive through the mountains, a 13 hour trip, road conditions raining. The water dripped into the truck cab and also into the storage area. Boxes and furniture were damaged. I will never use this incompetent company again. UHaul does not care about people’s safety nor their property.

  6. Ubox from Montreal to Port Moody.

My partner and I chose to use U-haul’s UBox service to move from Montreal to Port Moody.

Both the location in Montreal and the one in 96th Av were extremely helpful and provided us with great service.

  7. U Haul rental.

I had rented a u haul 15 footer since I was moving from NYC to Jersey City. Everything was fine till I returned the truck. Driving it was easy & everybody at uhaul was great till then. Then the issue started.
I got a call the next day after I returned the truck asking when I would return it. When I informed them that I had returned it in New Jersey after calling the company & asking if it was ok to return to a different location than stated when I picked up the truck to which I was told that it was not a problem & I returned the truck promptly. When they called me the next day, they insisted that the truck should have been brought to the pick up place & that I would be charged an extra $300 "convenience fees"!! I informed them that I was told by the company people that it was ok & I should not have to bear the charges. The lady on the phone kept saying that doesn't matter & that I would be charged that extra fees! when I asked if they have it on their website if the truck could be picked up anywhere & dropped off at any other of their locations, she said yes but this particular truck had to be returned to the pick up place. This is only causing more stress over & after my move & I feel the u haul should not charge me the extra fees & actually compensate me for the stress they are putting me through.

  8. Scum bags and very bad quality work!!

I hired this company Qhaul to come move my truck 26ft into the apartment. Quam called
me 2 days before to acknowledge he got the order to do the job. I asked him to bring help if he wanted too. Well let’s start there. When they arrived Quam told me to stay in the truck the whole time while I was directing where things go. Then they knocked on all my neighbors doors to get a car moved so they didn’t want to walk 6 extra feet off the sidewalk. One of them smelled like beer at the end of the job, did damaged to my apartment, damaged my furniture, broke the flood light in staircase even after one of the guys admitted breaking it, the company still denying to fix it. They were rushing the whole time after telling them to slow down multiple times. They drug my box spring across the whole floor of the truck and it’s all dirty as it won’t come off or they pulling things out of the truck like it’s a rag doll causing more damage. They never cared about the quality of the work it was just speed. Ex. They tried lifting a 7ft couch over straight in the air to heights of 12 ft to pull over a balcony with 2 people while the staircase was in front of them. Quam told me they did not want to use the stairs as couch would not fit. Well I made them take it upstairs and it fit!! At the end of the job I popped into the apartment and saw damages I found. Quam started taking pics of the damages that were there and said that they were already there. I did a pre inspection sheet before they arrived that has no damages on it for walls/ front door. After paying them and time went by Quam called me like 10 times. I thought he forgot something. Wrong!! He cursed me out onthe phone saying I owed him more money as invoice said maid services and I owed him another $60. I told him about the mistake must be wrong and that I picked movers on site and not maids. The night he called me before the move he said he was a mover. So where this came from I have no idea. He even threatened to come back to my place and I had to call the cops!!
Not I am in a dispute where they are denying that they did come, your wrong , you got got maids not movers, and all the bs a typical crap hole service company gives you when they don’t take responsibilities in their actions.
I highly do not recommend them!! Stay away if you want to keep your furniture in good shape
I am not recommending this place to any one.

  9. Moving.

Because of very (and very very ) high price (and also price wise very different than each other -from $1500.00 to $5000.00) we decided to do the job (moving)- by renting a truck from U-Haul- by ourselves, which was costed-plus fuel $140.00- total $561.00d.

So, we saved thousands of dollars even the cheapest price what we were offered.

  10. Lost my pods.

Its been over a month now and my pods have not been delivered as promised. Company alleges that pods were split into two shipments!! a couple of weeks apart!!. They claim that the pods were sent to two different paces but can't be delivered cause their truck is broken
Meanwhile all my stuff has to be replaced. I have filed a claim with the u haul insurer. My home owners insurance wont help unless I call the police and file a stolen items report which I may do in the near future. Customer care answers about one out of 4 calls.UGH.

  11. Moving to Bend.

I rented a u-haul truck, which went very smoothly. I had no problems. I hired Central Oregon movers, The two gentlemen, were terrific to unload the truck. I recommend this company. They were on time and they finished on time. These two gentlemen were very helpful and respectful.
I had no problem moving to Bend, Oregon. The trip went very smoothly.

  12. Uhaul company theives.

My daughter rented a u-haul and I drove it back to the u-haul location at San Jacinto ca. I had to stop off at the bank to obtain some monies I had put the monies into the tray between the seats a total of $ 120.00 until I could put it into my wallet and when I got to the u-haul and because I was very tired and had not eaten for a few hours I left the monies in the truck and about an hour later I realized what happened and went back there to retrieve my monies and of course the monies were not in the truck I talked to the manager who was (She) was very non-professional and simply told me her employees are not theives. My grand daughter age 7 actually saw the service employee who checks return trucks saw him grab the monies and put it into his back pocket I called the police and they did show up searched the man's pockets and of course found nothing although the police did say that an hour and a half has passed and the man also went on a lunch break. Make sure you take everything personal out of the cab when returning a truck back to this location. I also talked with the U-haul corporation complaints office and said they would investigate this matter and get back with me and this incident happened on August 10th 2014 and have not heard back from them now going into 4 months.

    U-haul ,San Jacinto Hemet, CA.

  13. Avoid U-Haul at all costs.

Several months ago, I was planning a cross-country move and checked into UHaul's U-Box Pods system. I spent an entire day on the phone with them, because I kept getting "transferred" and cut off. I spoke with seven different people, and got seven different quotes for the exact same scenario. They refused to send me a quote in writing (ie. an email) until I'd paid them an amount ranging from $240 to $650, depending on who I was talking with. I asked to speak with a manager, and kept being transferred randomly to various non-managers. Not that it mattered, because when I did get someone who said he was a manager, he was as clueless as the rest of them. I had such bad vibes about the company that I changed my entire plans for the move and did NOT use UHaul.
Now my son has made a cross-country move, and he did use UHaul's U-Box pods. He's been in his new location for a month, and hasn't gotten anything except a runaround from UHaul. They didn't show up to pick up the boxes the day they said they would. They sent him an email stating they were going to charge him for storage, even though he doesn't want anything stored. They were supposed to have delivered the boxes within two weeks. It's a month - no boxes, and no one seems able to tell him where they are or when they'll be delivered. He's been reduced to threatening them with legal action if they don't deliver.
Carry your worldly goods on your back if you have to, but avoid UHaul like the plague. I've never dealt with a more inept, unprofessional, poorly run company in my life, and that includes spending endless hours on hold with AT&T's laughably named customer service. I did get to hear at great length about one UHaul rep's daughter, who's a long haul trucker, so if that's what you want from a moving company, then maybe they're right for you. Anyone who actually wants to move their possessions would be well advised to look elsewhere.

  14. Excellent experience in TN, Bad experience in AZ.

I rented the 5 by 8 U-Haul trailer from Colours in Morristown TN, managers name is Charlie. He was absolutely wonderful and I would like him to get an excellent rating straight across the board. He went out of his way to help me get my family cross country. The bad experience was at the Tucson location on Ina, which was the origin of drop off. I called the 1-800 number that was on my contract from TN to get the location I was to drop the U-haul trailer off at. The CSR gave me the location of 4040 w. Ina in Tucson. I arrived at said location and waited for a CSR to take my paperwork. The CSR takes my paperwork , comes back and stated that he couldn't accept my trailer because I was not in his computer, and I had to contact the 1-800 number again. So I did and sat on the phone on hold for 30 minutes. Went into the store location to ask if there was anything that could be done to help me with the issue. I stated that my family and I had been on the road driving for 5 days. I had a 3 yr. old and 3 month old in the car that were hungry, tired, and tired of being in the car.He stated once again that I was not in his computer, and then rudely states that he had a full lot of trailers the size of mine and really didn't want my trailer on his lot. Suggesting that I drive to two other locations to see if drop off would be possible at one of them. He was very rude, obnoxious, disrespectful, and simply unpleasent. I stated there was no way after spending $423.00 @ the Knoxville, TN location for a hitch for my car, another $423.05 @ the Morristown, TN location for the 5 by 8 trailer, that I was going to further exhaust my family and be treated the way I was treated at the Ina location. I think for as much money I spent on the company I would of gotten a little understanding, and satisfactory customer service. The CSR wouldn't give me his name but the managers name was Josh. The address is 4040 w. Ina Rd. Tucson, AZ 85741,dispatching location #020038. Due to how I was treated I feel as if I am entitled some form of reimbursement. The people involved in this issue are as follows: Michael Carpenter of the Chapman Hwy. location(774066)(865)573-5582,which I would like to give a wonderful rating of excellence. Tim Pasely of TN (423)231-2379. Curt Fiehler of AZ (520)991-1964.

  15. Excellence.

We are very satisfied with our whole experince with U-Haul. Keegan Turner is the contact employee we had on our moving day. He was professional, fast and even joked with us on the cold miserable nasty day in January. From the day we stopped in to reserve a truck to the time we dropped it off after our move, the experience was excellent. Keegan Turner is a very professional hard working person and we thank him for all he did. God Bless and we would recommend to all.
