  1. Do not use under any circumstances!

DO NOT USE! WILL OVER CHARGE! Had a horrible experience with Standard Van Lines out of Florida. Had a move from Washington State to North Carolina. I went to a website to get a quote for moving from companies. Standard Van Lines kept calling me and doing the typical high pressure sale approach. They gave me a ridiculous low offer of around $3,000.00 tomove from Washington to NC. I knew it was too good to be true cause I a m not an idiot, but I bite.

First the wanted a security deposit upfront and which went from around 1500 to around 2200 due to some BS. Standard Van Lines is not the actual mover and just a broker. The contractor mover shows up for my 3 bedroom home and now wants an additional nearly $5000.00. They load my stuff into 26ft van.

I get to North Carolina the movers do not show up on Dec 10th, 2021 as agreed and then get less than 24 hours notice they are arriving. Can't take off from work the next day under the short notice and they now charge me a $500.00 overnight fees. Now, my goods are somehow on a Semitruck somehow despite loading on a 26ft Van and the Semi cannot make it into the facility.

Gets better, now I have to rent an additional truck out of my own pocket to move my belongings in a Walmart parking lot to my apartment a few miles away. And I have to pay an additional 300.00 dollars for the additional movers. In the delivery driver whom was completely different from the pickup driver naow.charges.me roughly $5,500.00 additional and he even told me that Standard Van Lines was doing something fishy. So in total, my estimate of about $ 3,000.00 went to about $13,000. Do not use them period. Horrible company in my opinion.

  2. STAY AWAY!!!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! Very unprofessional! We clearly told them our situation and what we wanted moved. When the movers got here, they said they had to upcharge us because they had to walk more than 75 ft. and they also had to upcharge us because the second floor was more than 10 STEPS!! We called and talk to a Kathy who basically told us that it was in our contract. Initially, I told the guy to cancel it..and he said he couldn't...then I told him to keep doing the inventory and I will pay the upcharge. As I was talking to my friend on the phone concerning the misinformation, she mentioned not to tip them. The mover then grabbed his papers and said that was not cool and walked out the door. Now...let me be very clear...I have no problems tipping people for great service at all..but to expect a tip before you even begin lifting one thing? And there's no guarantee that the service will be at a minimum 'good'? To get mad and walk out was also very unprofessional of them. So...when I called Standard Van Lines customer service to tell them what happened, I was told 'I'm going to call the movers because there has to be more to this story'....REALLY???!!! Now...first off...I do not get my refund because they are sticking with the fact that I cancelled and ignored the fact that the movers walked out...and I had a witness on the phone. Kathy from customer service stated that she was the 'manager', but was very unprofessional and rude to the point where she started fussing with me because we said we were not going to tip...and then hung up. And to think...as a veteran, this is what I served my country for.

  3. Scam!!

    Stars 0/5

I got in touch with him Marc, Senior moving coordinator on Sept 15 to move my household items from Corpus Christi, TX to New York city. He offered to do it for 1877 dollars. I was given 21, 22 as first and second. I signed the contract and paid 637 dollars as deposit then.

On 20th afternoon, I called him to confirm the pickup. He replied, no one has been assigned yet and offered to move on Sept 28th for an extra 400 dollars. I decided not to go with them and found another company. They promised me a refund, which I never received. It’s been 2 months. I called them maybe 70 times, not kidding. Either no one answers or they hang up on you.

I finally made a report to Federal trade commission. https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ It’s easy, I called this number, 877-382-4357 and made complaint over the phone. You can complain too. I will next report it to the state attorney general, and continue reporting to as many as govt agencies I can, until I get my money back. Here are the culprits & their phone numbers involved. Stay away from them!! Marc Levine – 7862885780, 877 222 4550 Ext. 2, 888 900 0372; Mia – rudest lady

  4. STAY AWAY! HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY

SCAM! STAY AWAY! I had to involve the police and lawyer just to get the goods. They will take your money and vanish. As other have said, all the positive reviews are fake. They are a broker company who hired "United Pro Moving, LLC" for the actual moving. The movers did not show up on the day of move and the day after either. Absolutely no communication from them about the change of timings. I called several times and US Standard just kept telling us that they cannot contact the movers either. After calling several times we were given a later date. My belongings were in a warehouse and I had to pay for repeated rescheduling of pickup date. On the new date, the mover (just one guy) showed up 5 hours late, with no blankets and tapes. So we rescheduled again for next day so that he can come with all the required equipment. He then tells me that the goods are double the space I was quoted for. This after picking the goods from a storage unit where I knew the exact cu ft of the goods. I eventually ended up paying extra $600 for more space and "wrapping the furniture" .After the pickup the movers vanished. They don't call, don't respond to messages, even US Standard told us they can't reach them for most of the duration. We got very anxious and stressed as weeks went by with absolutely no update.

Worst customer service. The customer reps are extremely rude and hang up on you. We ended up complaining to the police. After we told them we are involving police, they delivered our stuff. 1.5 months after the pickup. They showed up with a rented truck and hired a couple of local movers to carry the goods to our place. A lot of kitchen items were totally damaged along with furniture.

Save yourself the trouble and hire a better company!

  5. SCAM!

    0/5 STARS...

US STANDARD VAN LINES IS A SCAM. ONCE THEY GET YOUR DEPOSIT, THEY WILL STOP ANSWERING PHONE CALLS, EMAILS, AND TEXTS. THEY WON'T PICKUP YOUR SHIPMENT AND THEY WON'T RETURN YOUR DEPOSIT.

  6. US Standard Van Lines

Van was supposed to show up on August 6th 2021. When they did not show by noon, we contacted them and we were told they had no trucks nor would they be providing any moving trucks for us. We were told to wait 2 weeks for the $1644.00 deposit. still nothing and when contacted, they hang up. We have called several times and they continue to hang up after we give our name. Never again and DOT will hear from us.
