  1. Re: Aavarco Moving And Storage Update!!

AAVARCO HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY! I CHECKED ONLINE. CONCERNED NOW THAT IN THE FUTURE THEY MAY RE-OPEN COMPANY UNDER DIFFERENT NAME! EVERYONE NEEDS TO KEEP CHECK ON THIS!

  2. Avoid aa Varco at All Costs.

I hired AA Varco in July to assist with a cross-country move from Florida to California and regret the decision. While Chris Gallacher was responsive with the estimate, that was about the only thing that went right with the experience and I wish I could give them no stars. First of all, do not believe anything Chris Gallacher says. He will try to convince you that the premium for AA Varco is worth it, but the company is unprofessional, unresponsive and unable to meet self-imposed deadlines.

As for the move, AA Varco promised to deliver my stuff within a two week window, which was fine. I was even fine with them coming on the last day of the delivery window. However, they only delivered half of my stuff. They forgot the other half of my stuff in Florida and didn't realize it until they arrived in California. So my stuff had been sitting in a warehouse in Florida for about a month, without anyone realizing it. The remainder of my shipment took another two and a half weeks to arrive in California. AA Varco was not really willing to compensate me for not having essential items, like a bed, included in the initial shipment. Further, when all of my things did arrive, some of them were destroyed, like my coffee table. Who would have thought a professional moving company would decide that no protection was needed to move a coffee table with a glass top across the country? Luckily, Chris Gallacher talked me into paying for the insurance, which it turns out, covers nothing! Finally, I also paid for a shatter proof box to transport a valuable statute I own. While the statue was not damaged during the move, they decided to pack the statue in a box with newspaper rather than the $80 shatter proof box for which I paid.

Long story short, find another moving company. North American Van Lines is a suggestion, but there are others. Chris Gallacher is dishonest and impossible to reach once you've paid. This was a horrible experience.

  3. Unprofessional, unreliable and liars.

If you want to put on risk your household goods, if you want to deal with a gang of liars and delay your moving “months” without anyone replying phone calls or mails, this is your company. Be aware of Sue Kraft, she will not only reply any mail, she will make the moving a NIGHTMARE delying the whole process. Once they have your households you are trapped.

  4. Do Not Use aa Varco.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT USE AA VARCO!! They are LIARS. The driver Mike picked up our household goods Wednesday from FL and was suppose to deliver Friday in Virginia. He had is GIRLFRIEND, Rebecca, call us on Friday and say she was his "dispatcher" and that he was just getting our stuff from FL the day he was already suppose to be in VA. We were literally sitting at our house waiting for the truck to show up in VA and she said he was still in FL. She said he would now be at house house in VA on Monday. Sunday afternoon she calls again posing as his dispatcher and says there is a family emergency and he can't make it until Tuesday. We are a military family, so we have another company in contact with AA Varco for us also. In talking with them we find out about Mike and Rebecca's lies. Sue Craft, his real dispatcher, is mad at first becasue she thinks our stuff was delivered on time and doesn't know anything about a family emergency. She first tells us she is "on our side" and tries to figure out what's going on, now she won't talk to us and is trying to tell me Mike isn't her driver and denying she knows him or where he was with our stuff. AA Varco only has 2 inter-state drivers so I know she is lying. He had our stuff from Wednesday to Tuesday and no one will tell us where he had it or what he did with it. They could have went through everything we own in that time and picked out what they wanted. Mike, Rebecca, and Sue Craft are all LIARS. Please don't use them if you want your stuff on time or to arrive safely. We have no idea what they did with our stuff for 5 days and no one will tell us. We are still waiting to receive it. It's been 3 weeks. If things are missing there will be a lawsuit. They are TERRIBLE. No idea how they are a moving company. If you don't want to help people move, THEN DON'T PRETEND TO BE A MOVING COMPANY. OBVIOUSLY THEY DONT CARE ABOUT MILITARY FAMILY'S OR THAT WE HAVE SMALL CHILDREN WITH NOTHING FOR 3 WEEKS. LIARS.

  5. Moving at a difficult time.

During a very stressful time Varco made things so much better. We had a death in our family and called to see if we could have someone visit with us to help pack up and move the items. I contacted the office and Sue the General Manager was so professional and courteous understanding what I was going through. That same afternoon Chris Gallacher visited my home was professional and gave me a guaranteed cost in writing. Varco moved us the following week. All went down without a hitch.

    Great from start to finish.

  6. My items have been missing 6 weeks.

I contracted with these clowns to move me from Fort Lauderdale to Nashville. Loading went fine. Then the driver had a family emergency. Then, another lie. Then 6 more lies. Now, SIX WEEKS LATER I still don’t have my stuff and they aren’t returning my calls. Soon, I’m going to file a police report, an insurance claim, and a lawsuit. I hope that gets their attention. Next time I’ll hire a regular thief. At least I don’t have to pay them to steal my stuff. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE.

  7. Dishonest Practices.

We used AA Varco upon the recommendation of a friend. It was a mistake. We had the company pack all breakables and they did a terrific job. My complaint is about the day of loading. It took them 7 hours to wrap and load the furniture. Once all of the furniture was on the truck, the "bookkeeper" asked me to sign the inventory list. When I asked him what all the notes in the description referred to, he just pointed to the comments at the top of the page. There was not one item of my furniture on the inventory list that wasn't marked with some kind of flaw (i.e. scratched, faded, chipped, soiled, etc.) and I knew not all of my furniture had flaws but at that point my only recourse would be for them to remove all of the furniture and have them point out all of the comments which I couldn't do. They even marked my husband's guitar case as "empty" having never even looked inside. I understand that this practice is to protect their liability but as a customer I found it offensive and dishonest. When they delivered the furniture, I asked them to SHOW me the places on the furniture that I knew was in perfect condition and of course they couldn't and had no excuse. There were four pieces of furniture that were damaged, all because they weren't properly padded. In fact, two of the damaged pieces weren't even padded or wrapped at all. If you are going to consider using this company, I would be sure to ask to see any noted furniture flaw BEFORE the piece is wrapped and placed on the truck.

  8. Aa Varco: a Disreputable Mover.

Unfortunately, the rating system does not allow zero stars for that has to be the only possible rating for this company. The company has serious personnel and management problems that will splash any consumer who chooses it as its mover. The owner does not respect fair trade practices nor contract provisions. He does not answer phone calls, attend scheduled meetings or respond to damage claims. You move with this outfit at your own peril and if you suffer a substantial loss, as I have, you will have to resort to legal action.

  9. AA VARCO Office Staff.

Let me be clear.  The teams that loaded and delivered my furniture were both excellent.   Thanks especially to Tommy and Deborah who delivered my things with good cheer and efficiency.  But the office staff is unprofessional, uncommunicative and untruthful.   Chris Gallacher, the sales rep, was patronizing, lacked simple listening skills, and was untruthful.  He treated me like a 2 year old despite my attempts to indicate otherwise.   I would not recommend AAVARCO simply because of these people in the office!  If I were the 18 wheeler folks, I'd work for someone else.  .

  10. Damage.

I had 3 major items damages along with some smaller things broken. A claim form was submitted timely..no response..even after I called theM. It was like I did not exist. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they did not respond to that either. They had an "A" rating..no clue why. I am hoping that the BBB does what they say and downgrade their rating so others don't get duped. This company flies under the radar.

  11. No communication.

I would never recommend AA Varco to my worst enemy.  They do not return phone calls as they promise including the president, Joe Varco.  They were contracted to move my elderly mother from Ft Myers, FL to Auburn, IN. The contract delivery date was March 13- March 16.  As of March 18 no truck and no clue when it will get here. On March 17 I started calling trying to find out where the truck was, they claimed the truck had broke down and was waiting on a part. Nobody ever called to tell us this while we waited.  Mr Varco finally answered the phone at 4:30 on the 17th. He claimed the driver was on the road and the truck had broke down in central Florida on the day it was to be delivered in Indiana.  He said he would call me the next day before 10:00 am.  I called them at 11:00 am since nobody had called me.  They claimed they could not contact the driver, but as soon as they did they would give me a call. NEVER got a call.  Called Allied Van Lines corporate dispatcher at 5:30 pm on March 18.  She claimed the load was being picked up in Ft Myers on March 18 and being delivered on March 23. WHO is telling the truth?   Of course claims dept says they don't cover truck breakdowns.  To make maters worse my wife and me flew up from Florida to help my mother with the move. We we're suppose to fly back on March 18 but had to cancel flights. Not sure when to rebook flights since AA Varco can't tell us when the truck will be here. .

  12. Worst Moving Experience.

We used this mover, Joe Varco, of AA Varco Allied, Deerfield Beach, quite a while ago.  We had an awful experience with them and would never recommend their services, even though we were paid for most of the damage they caused.  Our furniture is Ethan Allen, with few chips in it.  By the time Varco's people were done, it had many more.  They said they would give us one free day of packing, never did. they were to use their large van, yet showed up with the 26ft. van.  Our furniture would not fit in, so they had to get the large van.  After they left, we noticed the chips and damage to the furniture.  They said they would "make it right," but just in case, I placed a partial hold on my credit card charge for their service.  Needlesss to say, I ended up going to the BBB because they did not want to make it right, even though we purchased their insurance, no deductible, and replacement cost coverage.  They paid us $1000 for our damage which we deemed fair, until recently.  We polish our furniture every two years and when we went to do so this year, we were shocked to see a large gash in our perfect dining room table, hidden by our table pad, which they placed back on!  In short, they put a big gash in a perfect dining room table, and hid it from us by immediately placing the pads back on.  I always keep the pads on and assumed my husband placed them there after the move, and he vice versa.  We didn't know until now, that the mover placed the pads back on.  Bottom line, this mover misrepresents their services just to get your business, then fights with you to make amends.  Get a different mover or use them at your own peril!  They moved us only six miles away and we had a lot of damage.  Use at your own peril!

  13. Shipping.

They forgot about the shipment.  stored the shipment and didnot have a plan on when to ship the belongings.  when called and inquired on the shipping, I never talked to the dispatcher or owner of the office.  I was never called backed when they said they would.  the only way I got any action was to call the corporate office and another allied company in my hometown.  even the saleswoman tried to help.  after the shipment they never tried to reimburse us for the lateness of the move and the added cost it added.  they only wanted us to do is file paperwork and wait for some reimbursement.

  14. Excellent Company.

Even though there were some truck issues which made delivery 3 days late the quality of the work was above excellent.  They packed my entire home in Florida and Tom was the best ever.  His girls did their job to perfection. When the household good were delivered Danny and Robert also executed the unloading to perfection. There wasn't one item that was damaged or broken. The 9000.00 price was very fair, the weren't the cheapest but they are the best! Joe did offer to compensate me for delayed time which I refused because of the professionalism and perfection of the entire move.  Would recommend AA Varco to everyone making a move.

  15. Excellent Service from AA Varco.

The crew from AA Varco in Deerfield Beach, FL was outstanding!! They were friendly, respectful, highly efficient and extremely hard workers. They arrived on time and finished my local move within the estimated timeframe. They didn't break a single thing. They worked their tails off. The sales process was also easy and smooth. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. My thanks to them for making this part of my move as painless as it can possibly be. .
