  1. The backbone

I could start with long stories of our experiences moving cross country, but I'd rather tell you how great it was dealing with Centennial moving. They showed up to pack on time, they were courteous, respectful and nice. Xavier and his team did a wonderful job. We ran into problems getting our house settled in the time we were supposed to, They worked with us every step of the way; even though I had to change the moving location back and forth several times. I will tell you, that this is the advantage of working with a smaller company as opposed to the big national companies, they would have probably told us "too bad." Though we had a couple of tiny miscommunications along the way, Centennial should be your choice for any kind of move. Alex and his team out here in Vancouver got the job done quickly and efficiently. This company gave us a WAY more affordable option than the big carriers and were much more understanding about issues that crop up along the way of a very stressful time. So, please, do yourself a favor, and if you have to move anywhere in the country, give them a call. You won't regret it, I know we didn't. If I could give them ten stars, I would. Thank you all for making the best of whatever we threw at them. Small businesses are the backbone of Canada.

  2. Hard to find

It's hard to find decent movers, especially for a long distance relocation and so I was lucky to come across Centennial. Excellent experience, move went smoothly, very impressed with their skill and customer service. They stuck by their word and delivered on time. Highly recommend!

  3. Moved from Regina to Kelowna

We had to move last April 2020 from Regina,SK Canada to Kelowna, BC and I saw this company online so I just tried there service. It was a nice/good experience but I did not rate as excellent because I kind of feel that it could have been a bit cheaper than what we were charged but overall it’s all good :)

  4. Worked for me

This company certainly worked for me as I had won scholarship, meaning I had to relocate to Toronto. My company was funding the move and I was told to choose some options. Centennials reviews stood out for me and they did not disappoint .

  5. Problem solved

We had to move from Winnipeg to Toronto during the pandemic. Centennial were very professional and responsive, and also considerate and careful about mask-wearing. The sales staff and move coordinator always got in touch with us quickly when we reached out with questions. Every move has complications, and in our case this involved not just coronavirus, but also small residential streets that were difficult to maneuver a truck down. The team leader solved our problems quickly and without a fuss. The moving crew was careful with our belongings, and also friendly. We highly recommend Centennial.

  6. Really grateful

My family moved from Burlington to Toronto. I'll be honest...I was not looking forward to finding and working with a moving company. Most online reviews of movers are just terrible. Full of disappointments. In my search, I found Centennial. Great reviews on MyMovingReviews, and anywhere else I found reviews. They were professional and organized. Drago came to our place and did a walk thru to confirm our needs and price. He was excellent. Truly helpful and knowledgeable. Gary was also available for info as we got closer to our move date. The day of our move, Phillip was here as the foreman along with Serge, and Slava. They were also great. Super friendly, quick. They helped with some last minute items that I didn't know what to do with. They made the pack out easy. Really grateful to have them as our movers.

  7. Excellent service!

We recently moved from Toronto to Kelowna, BC using Centennial. From pick up date to the delivery night, we were impressed beyond expectations. We had organized our belongings as best we could in Toronto in order to accommodate the mover’s needs, then were pleased to watch as boxes were double-checked to ensure they were securely taped. All items were diligently inventoried by the movers and items that needed extra protection were wrapped with moving blankets, then taped to keep the blankets secure. We hadn’t even thought to wrap our Chrome dining chairs - they wrapped those too. Once the initial truck was loaded, we were told because of the cross-country move, the delivery could take up to 4 weeks, possibly longer, as they had to fill the 70’ moving truck before sending it West. We understood and started our drive the next morning.

We arrived in West Kelowna and received an email that our belongings were to be delivered within 2 days. Much shorter wait than the 4 weeks previously estimated! When the movers arrived to the house, we were surprised to see one of the same fellows that packed us up in Toronto! They laid protective carpets from the front door right into the front room, where we were storing everything. We watched as they unloaded the moving truck with care and diligence, asking each time they entered with the items where we wanted it put. A final inventory check was performed, all was delivered and everything was in great condition. Our quote was relatively the same as the final bill, only fluctuated slightly because the final weight was slightly above the original estimate.

Overall, we were extremely pleased with Centennial Movers and recommended them highly. Great job!

  8. Highly recommend

My daughter needed to move her bedroom furniture from Calgary to Vaughan. From my first contact with Centennial Moving Co., they were professional, gave a clear estimate, and followed up to confirm all arrangements. On moving days they were right on time, (very aware of covid restrictions), plastic wrapped the furniture, and disassembled a huge king sized bed. They made the delivery on Calgary 10 days later and moved the furniture and reassembled it at the new apartment. I highly recommended Centennial Moving for their reasonable prices, follow up, and on-time careful movers. They made the move a great experience.

  9. I left extremely happy overall

Centennial Moving was extremely helpful from the get go. From Xavier helping with the paperwork and time frame of when everything will get there, to Alex and the movers hauling everything in and keeping every item safe.

The price you get is exceptional. Moving from Winnipeg to Vancouver was initially a thought of too much money but it was perfect for what we paid and brought out.

I will definitely use this company again in the future.

*IF YOU ARE USING THE COMPANY (any moving company for that example) HAVE AN OPEN SCHEDULE. Understand that no date is guaranteed but for our move it worked perfectly.

  10. Awesome movers

It was awesome dealing with Centennial Moving. They were on-time very professional and of great quality. I would definitely recommend them for your move.

They took extra care of the fragile and brought floor sheets with them and placed everything where we have requested them.

  11. Perfect move

WOW! This moving company is awesome! Thank you, Centennial Moving for doing the best job in my big complicated move, your team worked very hard, and I finally was able to not stress out so much like I have working with previous companies! Perfect move!

ADDRESSING EVERYTHING WITH *** FROM CENTENNIAL

Dear Claudie, we have to stay longer in each province to find local movers to help us with pick up and deliveries and we're sorry for that.

*** Why weren’t you completely HONEST about that up front when I booked with you back in August?

It's 21 business days from the day when truck leaves the province, not your pick up day.

*** NOWHERE does it state that on your website. You picked up my possessions on September 24th, 10 weeks, 70 days, 43 BUSINESS days later you delivered to YOUR preferred location not mine.

We don't and can't accept any cash deposits physically.

***NOT the deposit. You asked me to give the drivers cash on delivery. Don’t deny the cash please!! I have plenty of emails that proves this.

Your first delivery was scheduled for November 14th, but since you couldn't coordinate the time with the storage facility and your water taxi to get there, we had to reschedule the move several times because of that.

*** AGAIN WRONG!! MANY emails trying to explain the problem “your guys” would encounter on November 14th.

***You have to agree with me that it’s impossible for your guys to catch that 12:25 ferry right? This Saturday the 14th that was booked wasn’t going to work out because of the late arrival and “your guys” not getting back home, It wasn’t because I didn’t want my goods Saturday, it all boiled down to “your guys” not getting home. You said the easiest for “you” not me the customer was to get a storage unit in Comox (Comox is NOT where I wanted delivery it was Powell River). Powell River doesn’t run like the rest of the world. No 10’ trucks either. I have to drive a 15’ BY MYSELF and empty it BY MYSELF into storage.

As well, you've changed the delivery address from Victoria, BC to Powell River, BC already after pick up was done, and it's harder to navigate, because even though they're within the same area, they have different ferry and it's harder to get to Powell River than Victoria.

***SO we the customers are not allowed to change the address after giving you ONE WHOLE MONTH’S notice?

As well you had so many items that we needed 2 ferrys to deliver it, not one.

***WHAT? I had so few items. A tiny one bedroom, no appliances, no bulky furniture or bed frame to move.

As well, at the time the ferrys were booked much time in advance and till February they have only 1 ferry to go to the island and we could come back only the next day with another ferry. We couldn't leave movers and truck on the island overnight, because other customers were in there and other deliveries had to be done, and of course you wouldn't pay the compensation to those customers from your pocket, because we stayed on the island due to your delivery had to be done.

***Let me copy and paste your own words from your website *** Our staff is highly regarded for their efficient professional standards when it comes to long distance moves. We are always willing to put our successful experience to use to ensure that you will enjoy a stress free move experience. We are one of the best companies in the long distance moving industry when it comes to bottom line pricing.  Our assistants are always ready to assist you customize your long distance moving plan to suit your needs.

*** I even offered to pay for a hotel for “your guys”.

After that the manager offered you to rent a unit on the other island, so we can arrive there ourselves and leave them in the unit and you could come and pick it up anytime you want, since we were unable to get 2 ferrys per day to deliver all goods to the first location, since delivery time was determined by ferry, not your storage time or a water taxi for you to get from one island to the other one. At the end we did exactly like this, you booked the storage on the other island and we successfully delivered everything there within 1 day.

*** You are truly going around in circles. The manager threatened me to either get a different storage unit or get myself to Surrey and pick up my possessions!! I CAN post the threatening email.

We're sorry that we were late for BC province itself.

*** No you’re not sorry, you never were sorry. And if you think taking $100 off my bill is going to make this go away, it won’t.

Claims Department received already a complaint from you in terms of items and will take care of that as soon as possible. In case if any other assistance is needed, just let us know.

*** Yes I have damaged furniture AND I took out extra insurance with you because I didn’t feel confident after reading the reviews which was too late.

If the claims department is as incompetent as the movers I won’t hold my breath and it seems they will also take months to settle this nightmare.

  13. Difficult assembly completed

Just used these movers to move a one bedroom apartment (with a ton of very heavy and expensive furniture) from Edmonton to Brampton . I was super impressed with the two guys who did my move! My dad oversaw the loading of the truck in Edmonton and when I met them in Brampton I was really happy to see everything had been meticulously wrapped in plastic and taped with blankets. Nothing was broken or damaged in any way. They also dismantled my TV wall mount and bundled up all the pieces, disassembled my difficult bed frame, and put all the small things I couldn't find boxes for into garment boxes. They worked tirelessly to get all my things moved into the Brampton place very quickly and even brought my massive couch in by hoisting it over a very tall balcony and through a patio door. Good communication before and after the move; I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends.

  14. Enjoy the ride

What a great service I received with Centennial as my moving company. My LD move went off without a hitch. I just sat back and enjoyed the ride!!! From top to bottom a truly professional company. My thanks extended to all office staff an of course the movers. This is how it should be done! From a well pleased client!

  15. Dishonest weighing

I used them to move my stuff from AB to QC. After picking up my stuff they claimed they went to a scale and my stuff weighs 3200 lb. They didn't know that I weighed my stuff myself and they are 2400 lb. When I asked them about the ticket scale they alleged that the scaling facility doesn't provide tickets due to COVID-19 situation. I called the facility myself and it turns out this a straight lie.

After many rounds of negotiations, they offered to scale my stuff in front me but on condition that they will charge me more if the second scale within 10% of their value. When we re-weighed the stuff it turns out exactly as I expected (to put in $ value, they were about to charge me $800 more than they should).

They didn't apologize or even provide any reasonable explanation of how their weight was 800lb more than the actual value.

Save yourself the hassle, and look for an honest company.
