  1. Ripping you off is their specialty.

Don't bother with this fraudulent organization. They talk the talk at first but they do not follow through. In fact they don't respond, reply or answer phone calls nor refund fees they say they will. Worse, they don't manage the freight companies they middleman with, in any way. You are left hanging with damages, loss and poor scheduling. If some lucky client happens to have a good experience it is shear luck. Don't play Russian roulette with this organization. I got their name from Home Advisor.com. Foolishly did not check their BBB rating.

  2. Fraud.

Moving Forward America (from TN), used a lowball tactic in collusion with another mover (from NJ) to move me from Maine to Virginia. This mover then held my possessions hostage and charged $3000 more than the original estimate.

  3. Nightmare That Keeps Getting Worse.

I contracted out with the company to move my things from Boise, ID to Cedar City, UT on April 03 of 2019. With the storage of my items for a few months, through the end of July. Looking at the BBB website, it appears that something has gone terribly wrong with this company from the end of May to the end of July.

Getting the move set up there were no initial red flags. We walked through the items three times before the move and it seemed like everything was all set. Then the day before the move they called and told me that I needed to move all the things out of my dresser drawers because they were no longer going to secure my drawers shut. After rushing to get that taken care of the day of the move came and they were supposed to be at my home between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.

Around 10:00 AM they called to say they would not be there until after 2:00 PM, which ended up being 3:00 PM. When they moved my things they made no effort to protect my items. They also were not prepared to move my piano, which I had told their dispatch team previously was a stand-up piano. I had to borrow a furniture dolly from a neighbor for them to use. Throughout the entire move, they would move a few things and then take a smoke break. What should have been an easy two-hour move took nearly five hours.

Finally, after I had closed on my home, I contacted them to schedule a pick-up date. All of this has had to occur through email, because their customer service department does not answer their phone (877)566-0331. All their other numbers have been disconnected or no longer receive calls. I am assuming they have blocked my number.

When I have requested to speak with a person, I get no response. When I asked for another copy of my contract (4249180) they do not respond. When I have asked where my things actually are, I get no response. This is after they promised that my things would be stored in temperature-controlled storage space. I doubt that this is the case. The only response I can somewhat get, is they are still waiting to hear from their Dispatch Department to schedule the move. When I asked to speak to dispatch myself, I still get no response.

I really just want to know where my things are and if there is even an estimate of when they will be delivered. After looking at all the other complaints on the BBB site, most of them between June and July of this year, I have no great expectations, just the hope that I will actually get my stuff and it will not be terribly ruined.

  4. Cheats Stay Away.

MOVING FORWARD AMERICA the most deceptive company and unprofessional when it comes to refunds..

I have cancelled a move from NJ to NC with in the allotted time on their contract due to a canceled home purchase. The night I cancelled the move the company withdrew the Deposit out of my bank account.. that was on May 1st, $472.87 I have called them trying to get my refund up to today. I have spoken to them and e-mailed them with no response other than the finance dept will get back in touch with you..They NEVER have. I filled out a Better Business Bureau complaint and they ignored that also you can check it on the BBB web site. I am now hiring a lawyer in Nashville Tenn. to pursue the credit and all of the expenses I will incur during this aggravating process. this company is nothing but a SCAM Please DON'T USE THEM FOR ANYTHING UNLESS YOU LIKE LIARS AND CHEATS..

  5. Never Again -.

Pickup on Friday June 21st - Delivery on Sunday June 30th.

I would not use this company again, and I am going to tell my story with 4 lies that were told to me and my family by Moving forward America, along with the terrible customer service and a no call no show.

Now granted we did add a some items, so we were okay with the added expense as my move went from around $4,500 to over $8,000. I spoke with John from Moving Forward America and he said since our move was increasing in size that we would have a truck to ourselves and described the pull behind style of their new trailer and how cool it was because you can fit more than a tractor trailer in it, but it's lower to the ground.
I then made sure to ask that even if the inventory changes we should be good to go on the price because we are getting the whole truck, which he confirmed so I got a cashiers check for the remaining balance. He even said that he was going to keep items off of the inventory to help us with the cost, but not to worry because we are getting the whole truck.

Fast forward - Delivery is getting closer and I receive a call on Wednesday that my move is now going to cost an additional $5000 because of the amount of space we took up on the truck. Wait..John said we were getting the whole truck right?

That was Lie #1 I called customer service and got shuffled around until finally Dylan apologized for the mistake but still insisted on charging me extra for the move albeit additional $3078 as opposed to over $5000.

They also charged me additionally for a straight delivery, about another $1200. I was able to get them to essentially cut that in half, but keep reading for why that was still too much.

Lie #2, The driver himself told me he was going to Aberdeen, North Carolina after our pick up to help with a box truck that his boss told him to help with. That is not a direct delivery.
So I called them on it and explained that I am not paying for a direct delivery.

They said that no one else's stuff is on the truck except ours.
That was Lie #3, because in order to unload my stuff, the driver said he had to unload another families things first. Again, I was supposed to have the whole truck according to John for a little over $8000.

So before delivery, I was told that the drivers should arrive no later than Friday, June 29th. Okay fine, well we wait for delivery with no calls from the company. Finally I call them and ask where our stuff is, and I get told a story that the drivers were pulled over in Texas due to damage to the panels on the trailer and they need to stay in Texas and get it fixed. The damage was there in New York mind you. Well guess where the other families stuff was from that needed to come off first? You guessed it, Texas. Also when the trailer arrived, it was still damaged which raises questions about the safety and security of
my belongings. That was Lie #4.

So I called customer service and they said that my delivery would be on Saturday. Okay, we can still make that work as it was the weekend, I'll spend the day at home and wait. No one shows up on Saturday, and I get no calls from the company. I left 3 voicemails with customer service and finally sent an email using their website. I get an email back from Dylan saying that he apologizes for the inconvenience and is going to personally talk to his customer service team. So my day is gone, but his is sorry, doesn't seem equitable.

Looking now, there are scratches on expensive furniture, washer, and dryer, and my $1500 bed frame is basically useless because there are feet missing from it.

Honestly I am more concerned about the lies and deceptions that the company uses to get more money than I am about the moving crew themselves. If I was just rating the crew, they would have likely been a 3 overall, but Moving Forward America as a company is a 1 to me and my family after this fiasco.

  6. Do Not Use.

They are a broker, meaning, you won't know the actual company that is moving you until the day before your move. This is what happened when I used them, I looked up the company that they chose, and it was not authorized to move household goods and had terrible reviews. I told them they need to change my company and they said they would. The day of they told me they changed my company, which was a lie, the company had several of the same names. I told them this company was not a good idea, but they persisted. I was stuck because I needed movers, so I went with them. They showed up to pick my things a day late, making me have to pay the apartment another day. They said they needed two weeks to deliver, which would be the 31st of May. After terrible struggles of trying to get a hold of both moving forward America and the moving company itself, getting to the point where they wouldn't even answer my calls because they had no idea where my things were. It finally got delivered June 25th at 2 AM. Many things were broken. They were 25 days late. Now they won't refund me, even though they said they will. I'm pretty sure their "financial department" is just a complete lie. I mostly spoke with Megan, who is very nice, but full of words with no action.

  7. Fraud Company, 0 customer service and 0 professionality in move.

Beware from this fraud company, worse customer service ever once they got your money and that’s it no one will answer you even for following up on problems and claims, first time you talk to them will give you all the discounts you like and make it extremely cheap but then the actual movers who come to pick up your stuff are different company who will take your stuff and without telling you will be stored in a very bad situation keep it for week or 2 even if they told you will bring it in a 3 days period, actually they will let you know if you want them now pay at least $1000 extra. prepare for them they are a gang style (their management)
the other part when they will bring the stuff to new address, first of all no customer service to call you and let you know they will come today or tomorrow, they called me in my first day at work and said we are 1 hour away from your home and if you don’t be there at home will not give you your stuff today and you pay extra $1000 also they asked me to pay around $600 extra because I used more space with no proof at all where I used less than the estimated because I sold most of my furniture and they won’t even listen to you, " you don’t pay, nothing for you" and they were leaving already for just asking why extra!! Also, unprofessional movers, they broke some of my stuff in front of me and don’t even know how to deal with it.

their claim is pathetic will let you know they have $10000 and 1 million insurance all lies, whatever you have and be sure 90% of your stuff will be broken literally my boxes were kicked off and they broke all the furniture and will pay by weight for you and will take your item after then not yours anymore, so if you have $1000 item and weight 10 lb then you get $1 for it and will take it from you.

BEWARE, I’ve been chasing them for 3 weeks on my extra overcharge and no one answering me or just pick it up and hang up and will lie just to let you calm.

  8. Likely scammer, avoid like the plague.

The first red flag was they asked you to make the deposit by bank wire transfer. I paid the deposit despite the fact that BBB rating for this company was D. My gut feeling said no, but the price they quoted was slightly better than other companies. I talked to them on the phone and service personnel "Geoff Smith" was professional and asked the right questions, took notes, and presented service contract containing all the items we discussed over the phone. The company was supposed to sent a driver on June 3rd to pack the household items and on June 4th to load and haul out. I flew in to my previous home to assist them with the move. No one shows up. I called and I was given no definitive answer. On June 3rd, I was told driver was coming the next day. On June 4th, I was told the driver gave them information that I was fine with driver coming on the 5th, which was a lie made up by them or perhaps the driver they were subcontracting. In the end, I ended up renting a U-Haul truck and moving it myself with the help of local movers. I haven't gotten back my refund of my deposit yet.

I am going to contact Tennessee Consumer Affairs and state Attorney General because it is based in Tennessee. Don't make the mistake that I made. Avoid this company like the plague. It is likely a scam company.

  9. Refund!

Worst service ever!! I would be so happy if they never made another sale! I placed an order with them to move my furniture because I got stationed on the naval base in Virginia. I canceled my move 2 days after placing it, they told me that my money would be refunded by about 2-3 weeks at the latest. A month goes by and I try to call them and figure out what’s going on. They tell me that they will look up the order and call me back and give me an answer. I waited two more days, and called them back cause they never responded. They tell me they don’t know what has happened but they will figure it out and call me back. This happened about 12 times before I wrote this post! They are literally the worst service I have ever had and don’t recommend them to anyone.

  10. Mover beware -.

I inquired online in January about using your Moving Forward America to move my pregnant daughter from Show Low AZ to Santa Rosa CA. I received so many calls and emails to to get to sign up with them, that I had to ask for them to stop. Once I researched and calculated the cost of me flying and driving back vs contracting with them, I decided to contract with Moving Forward America.

I was told that with a pick up date of the 18th/19th would get a delivery by the 22nd. I agreed to pay the expedited fee of $500 to ensure the delivery by the 22nd as outlined in the contract.

The follow up on this job has been horrible. Not only did the contents not get picked up by the 19th, I had to make multiple calls to see when it would get picked up, all ending with them saying they'd call me back. Finally, I received a call from a driver around 6pm on the 19th saying that he had just received keys to a truck and would be there to pick up by 10am on the 20th. He did not show up until 2pm.

Furthermore, the car transport that Moving Forward America supposedly contracted to arrange did not know that they were supposed to be there on the 19th until that same day. Once I had them on the phone, I was told that if he had known the location, they would have declined the job. Why was this not handled accordingly either? Why am I the one who has had to harass them to get the car picked up and transported? It was finally picked up on the 24th and will be delivered on the 26th.

After being told that Moving Forward America had dropped the ball on this after having 2 months to arrange it, they made no effort to rectify the issue.

I have had to be the one to call your support center EVERY day for an update. Currently, the contents are still sitting in Phoenix. We are now 3 days past our contracted agreement and I was told it will be another week before I see the contents. ANOTHER WEEK? They have already had to purchase additional clothing since the truck did not arrive in time for them to start their new jobs and are having to eat out because they cannot cook in their empty apartment. They offered no compensation other than not charging me the expedited fee.

I posted this review on 4/1/19. On 4/10/19 I received a call from Mr. Dylan Gross, owner of MFA and he asked if I’d revise my review and in turn he would refund me the amount I had put as a down for this job and that he would make sure they processed a claim on their end of the items that were missing. All I needed to do is provide them with an itemized list of what was missing. It has now been almost 2 months and neither has happened.

If you are considering using Moving Forward America, I'd look elsewhere.

  11. Total, complete, liars.

Totally enjoyed working with these guys at first. They are a broker, not the moving company itself, but I was clear on that coming in. HOWEVER, I was told repeatedly wrong information, belittled on the phone, and despite constant promises they would keep me updated, I always had to call them instead of the other way around. I found out the name of the moving company itself and just started talking to them directly. They at least gave me good information that didn't turn out to be total BS! Then one of their folks let slip that the original salesman I was working with was just fired for giving out bad and misleading information -- which was exactly my problem. So I stopped calling MFA and just worked with the movers directly. They certainly never called me again until out of the blue one day I get a call saying they were going to refund my deposit. OK! So that's appropriate, and I promised to amend my reviews to include that. It's been 3 weeks. Once again, I get the runaround or some BS response every time I call. I'm not even sure why they bothered to offer.

  12. They promised me a partial refund and now won't give it to me.

I agree that Chad was great over the phone. He's a great salesman. Unfortunately, Chad is not who you deal with when you are in the middle of your move. They outsource the moves and so no matter what they tell you is your estimate and no matter how many times they say it won't go up, it will go up when the movers arrive. Apparently they just check off boxes when giving information to the movers and don't tell them what you've told them about the items you're moving, even if you're incredibly specific. I had a shelf that was 72 inches x 72 inches and I gave those exact dimensions to Chad over the phone. When the movers arrived, they told me that they were only told the shelf was "large" and that they would need to charge me an extra $325 to move it. I called Moving Forward America and spoke to Kristina at customer service who agreed that that was unreasonable and promised that if I paid the movers that money, MFA would refund it. She even sent me an email promising to pay the overages. So I paid the money. Now, three months later, after trying many, many times to get some sort of a response over the phone and through email, and being promised that someone would call me back, I finally got a response from them where they said

"The finance department has denied your request for a refund. After reviewing the signed contract we have decided the charges are legitimate." This was AFTER being promised a refund. Now they won't answer the phone or respond to emails. I strongly advise anyone contemplating a big move to find a company that employs the movers themselves and a company that will stick to what they promise.

  13. Moving Forward Saved My Life!!

I Received a Job offer in California and was given One week to move my family and our dog across country from Maine. I was in complete panic mode and was terrified. The sales Coordinator was Amazing and Walked me threw this whole process. He even answered my call at 3am (Due to me panicking for no reason), I apologized and he said "He was glad to help" Two days before my move I got a Call from Chad and he explained what was going to happen next. I of course overloaded him with questions and he honestly could not of been more understanding and genuine. He to stated that he has a family and Understand the importance of Moving your entire Life. We made it to California Safe and sound with our whole Life. I would absolutely recommend this company to anybody who needs to move. They not only displayed professionalism but Pure Honesty for my situation and Meet my time Crunch. Thanks to everyone Involved.

  14. Missing items.

Over charged they sourced everything to a 3rd party all of my electronic went missing half of my property was damaged still waiting for them and the 3rd party to contact me about my missing items will make a follow up review on that when/if I hear from them again.

  15. Don’t use this service.

I called multiple times and each time increymy cubic ft. I told them I didn’t want any surprises on the day of the move. :( the driver arrived and doubled our cubic ft. Doubled price too. Once all our stuff was on the truck we measured and we were less that original bid. I took pics and tried to get money back. Company finally stopped returning my emails and calls.
