  1. Collect deposit but never render service

Don’t use this company services. This is a scam company. They will collect your deposit and won’t render their services. They took my deposit of $2775 and didn’t render their services. Don’t get into their trap. I will report their scam to the FBI.

  2. Would never recommend.

    Nationwide movers of America

Moved from Chicago to Ft Lauderdale.

Pros: Price - at first. $1700. Not bad compared to others around 3k.

Pickup - on time and efficient.

Cons: Price - by the end of it. As soon as the pickup guys came, they said it’s going to cost me more. Doesn’t weigh or measure. He just says he’s done this before and knows. Ok. extra $600. Wow.

Communication - once you sign, no one ever picks up the 800 number or local Ft Lauderdale number either.

Dispatch did pick up a couple times.

Customer service replied by text but eventually got annoyed that I kept asking daily for my stuff and when delivery will happen and begged for even an estimate

date. So they tell you the pickup date and give you a backup date. Ok. For delivery you can tell them the date you want but it doesn’t matter. There’s no backup date, no window, nothing. They just keep saying driver will call you 24 hours before they deliver what? I live in an apartment Bldg and have to reserve an elevator and I work during the week. So need to know before just the day before. Even asked them for 2-3 day window. Nope. These people do not care. They deal with so many people they say and can’t get to us all.

Delivery: where do I begin? They hire 3rd party lovers even though they tell me at first that’s not what they do . And they are pretty much hands off after that. Insurance ? Forget it. They tell 3rd party and they don’t give a shit. The delivery guy finally calls me about 5 days after the day requested. He’s going to show up in two days. Ok. He shows up in an 18 wheeler. A semi truck. My Bldg says they’ve never seen anything like this. And the truck can’t fit in the dock. Of course. So they tell me they will bring a small uhaul, move things there and bring that over. But it’s going to cost me $300. It’s in the fine print of the contract. Wow. But it’s also late in the day and they can’t til the next day. Wow. Next day they show up and thank goodness it’s over.

Total cost around 2600. I would much rather have paid the 3k with a reputable company.

  3. Don't Use This Moving Broker !!

Save yourself some frustration and sleepless nights. I signed their contract on 9/27/21 for an 11/20/21 move date. The sales gal "Jay" was pushy in having me sign the contract as they don't "hold" that quote price for you. She showed me several glowing reviews on their website but after checking the BBB I saw an "F" rating for them with horrible reviews. I found a few other sites as well with bad reviews. I canceled in less than 8 hours of signing their contract - which states a full refund of the deposit minus 10% processing fee if you cancel within 24-48 hours of signing and to allow 10 business days for them to process the credit. If you dispute the charge before the 10 business days you FORFEIT your entire deposit. I emailed my cancellation notice to the email in the contract and on 10/9 I finally got an email from them stating they would cancel and refund. I waited another 5 business days and disputed the charge after my credit card company said no credit as of yet. My credit card company gave me a conditional credit for the full amount but in less than 2 weeks the charge re-appeared stating the moving brokers had provided a copy of the contract I signed. I had also provided them with that contract, my cancellation email and the moving brokers email stating they would cancel/credit. The charge was again removed and the dispute team contacted Nationwide again. After 11 weeks and 1 day my credit card company closed my dispute in my favor for the full amount. I asked for the full amount due to Nationwide breaching their own contract by not issuing my credit in the 10 business days. I was lucky - others have not so save your time, money and sanity and avoid these scammers like the plague!

  4. Worst Moving Experience

This company is nothing more than a booking agent and they could care less about your actual belongings. They also will miss quote your cubic footage and then you have to deal with the movers and pay them more. I had to pay $4,000 more. When I called NWM, they said' you are on your own". They are a scam and the worst company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

  5. BROKER SCAM

Do NOT use this company. They are polite and helpful until they get your money. Never showed up on the pick-up date. Ghosted me when I called. Passed me around the office on the phone and had fun with me. Then they fought to keep the deposit. Moving is stressful. Keep your health and DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS.

  6. This company is a scam

They day they were supposed to show up for my move they cancelled. Said they would refund me, but now they are fighting with my credit card company to keep their money. They are just scamming you, please don't use this company!

  7. Scam

I was quoted a price of $3150 and paid a $1538 deposit. Our move was 45 days from the deposit date. 15 days out from the move I called and was reluctantly put in touch with”Steve” the scheduler. After going over the inventory our quote tripled. He blamed Jay, female, for doing a “horrific “ initial quote. I was canceled and asked for the deposit back. I was told that I would have had to cancel within 48 hours of signing the contract. Total fucking scam.

  8. Still No Stuff

    Move from 98315 to 31558

    P/U 06/07/2021

    Delivery TBD as of 08/09/2021

    Amount paid to date: $12,000

Original quote was $9,514.38 for 1050 cf and 7,350 pounds

No weight was provided. Loading crew forced cash transfers as loading took place, $ based on cf

Freight is now MIA. Company contacts no longer respond to inquiries

This was a military move. Weight tickets were required. None provided.

Exploited a service member. Over-charged on site. Goods are missing. Did not weigh specific goods.

  9. DON'T GET ROBBED BY THESE SCAMMERS!!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I cannot stress this enough. Every single one of the reviews below are exactly what I've experienced from Nationwide.

I scheduled a move with them for July 1st as I was leaving July 2nd to drive across the country. They were set to pick up in PA and deliver to CA. The week of the move, we hadn't received any update on when the movers were going to show up, and we needed to be on the road July 2nd to make it to our destination on time. I called Andy a number of times and he continued to assure me they'd be there July 1st, at the latest, July 2nd. So we waited. July 1st rolls around, no movers. July 2nd rolls around. We're trying to get on the road and I'm calling Andy and Jade every hour on the hour trying to get in touch with someone about when these movers are going to show up, and no one will answer their phone. Finally at 4pm I get a call from someone in broken English that they'll be there in a half hour.

When they showed up, I was very surprised to see that it was NOT Nationwide, it was some other company? Apparently without my knowledge Nationwide had boooked another company, Instamove, to transport my belongings. I was never informed they were a broker, and I was never informed that some other company I'd never heard of would be in possession of my belongings. I was extremely hesitant to even let them take my stuff but I had to be on the road, so they loaded up the vehicle and left.

Now here we are at August 3rd, over 21 business days from pickup and over 21 business days from first available delivery date, which I listed as July 7th. I contacted Andy who referred me to call Instamove directly because he didn't know the status of my belongings. So I tried to contact instamove. I have sent them 10 emails and have called them just as many (if not more) times and left voicemails. I have received a total of 2 emails back, and I've never once been able to contact them by phone. Their first response was stating that they had paused my delivery because they never received a delivery date, which is absolute bs as I have a signed contract with the first available delivery date, and a signed contract stating delivery will be in 7-21 business days, which I attached and sent back to them. I contacted them again saying that if I didn't get a response I'd assume that my items were lost or stolen, as I've been unable to get an answer for over a month now and they've exceeded the contract dates for delivery.

I also emailed Andy, who had his manager call me. A manager who proceeded to scream at me on the phone, insult me, swear at me, and refuse to answer my questions. When I asked where my stuff is (keep in mind it's been over a month since pickup) he stated it was in a warehouse in New Jersey awaiting transit. My stuff was picked up in PA and sent to Jersey? The opposite direction of the destination? So I asked how he knew that, and if he'd gotten in touch with the company. He said no, he was still waiting on a response. I asked why we can't get a response from them on where my stuff is and when it will be delivered and he said "because they don't have an answer for you". So I asked him then how does he know where my stuff is to be able to tell me that it is in a warehouse in New Jersey if the moving company that HAS my stuff has no idea, and he started screaming and cursing at me again telling me that I'm condescending and that "that's the stupidest f-ing question I've ever heard". I recorded the conversation because this company is completely dishonest and has no qualms against lying, and I've seen the way they gaslight and insult customers for speaking out against them.

He also kept stating that by "federal law" moving companies have 30 days to deliver, which is completely false. There is no federal law (and I even contacted the police and the federal department of transportation) that states they have 30 days - dates are agreed upon by the customer and transporter and signed in the contract. The manager at Nationwide kept cutting me off, interrupting me, berating me, and being a generally awful human being to me and saying that the dates in my CONTRACT are just estimates. Then why did we sign for them? If I had been made aware of ANY of this up front I would have run far far away.

  10. Stay Away from this Company

They basically cancelled my move the last 5 days before I was to move and kept my deposit I paid. Had to pay another mover to move me from west coast to east coast. They use a clause in their contract to keep your money. So in legal term they legally steal money until someone sues them!

  11. REFUSAL OF REFUND

I paid a deposit to this company and cancel the same day stating that a big company was going to move I sent emails to both the sales and cancellation email. I had two members call me on saying I have you set up for the move and I told her it was cancel and she told me the date. Then I received a call yesterday saying the have a driver that can pick up my items and I told them im awaiting my refund and I need it now. I been waiting over a month to receive my refund. They tell you people will reach out and never do. Please dont used this company

  12. DO NOT TRUST THEM!

We paid the first of three installments to move from Texas to Florida well in advance of our move and were assured they would be able to move us by the end of the month. The day they were supposed to pickup our belongings, we were told they did not have a truck available and it would be another couple of days. Needless to say, we never received a call from them or a truck driver confirming pickup. Tried to reach them multiple times without success. The associate who was working with us vanished. When we finally reached a sales associate, he was rude & disrespectful. We were told to wait for a call from the truck driver, which never came. Late in the day before the day we had to be moved out, we again reached out to them and were told our moved was cancelled. This left us scrambling to make other arrangements and would up moving ourselves. I am now battling to receive a refund on the money I put down.

Save yourself a lot of grief and hire a reputable company.

  13. I'm so sorry if you've hired this company

This company is not a moving company. They find a cheap/ unheard of moving company and then leave the rest to you. Dan lies and says the delivery will happen in 4-7 days. Jade calls you a week before your move and tries to scare you into paying more even when you haven't reached your total cubic footage. Goodness knows what the $900 deposit goes to because it's not towards the move. You have to pay the movers in cash (half before and half upon arrival). The movers I was given were, "Best Mover's for You" who lost three of my big items. I had to sit on the truck until I was given a partial refund. Steve the dispatcher was kind of helpful at getting me my stuff back, but he sounded like he couldn't be less bothered if he tried. If you're still within the period to get your deposit back, please do. Just hire a Uhaul and make the trip yourself. It's a lot of work but it saves you so much stress.

  14. Don't do it!

I see many people have spelled out the issues with Nationwide so I won't beat a dead horse. Others have pointed out their dishonesty which I also experienced so I'll leave that alone. I was not aware of this blog when I made my move but I wish I was. No way would I have gone with Nationwide.

All this being said, please know the facts:

they ARE NOT a moving company but instead a BROKER who will farm out your move to others. You can do this yourself and save $$. I ended up with 3 companies involved in my move resulting in cost increases and missing/damaged items.

They will promise these experienced and trained staff to move your stuff: on the sending and receiving end the "movers" were seemingly kids who were totally unqualified to do the job. I actually had to show one how to use a hand truck.

They will offer you a "binding estimate" which apparently means nothing because the cost of my move almost doubled AFTER they go my stuff on the truck. NEVER do an estimate over the phone. ALWAYS have the company come out and give you a written estimate.

Just a few of the issues I experienced. Hope this helps and good luck!

  15. My Family's Belongings Are Lost, Help!

Cut and pasted from my Google review ( https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m5!14m4!1m3!1m2!1s114983209524128548234!2s0x0:0x976e64013156b715?hl=en-US )

that includes pictures I took of the forms and the wrong moving truck:

"These pictures, with comments, are (1) one is of the moving truck with movers contracted out by Nationwide Movers, called "speed moving and services". A truck arrived, after a month, on Thursday, June 24th, but it did not have our things on it. We been in contact with Speed Moving and Services, and we aren't really getting anywhere, but, at least, the person in charge there has been both sympathetic and apologetic. I wish I could say the same for the company at the foundation of this debacle. After not getting anywhere with Nationwide Moving of America ("Nationwide Movers'-- the two names are synonyms, intentional? I'm not sure), so, I tried leaving a review on Nationwide Movers Facebook page, but, it would not go through, so I piggy backed my complaint on another Facebook review from another family with similar problems. (2) a picture of the actual paperwork from Nationwide Moving Of America (they give different addresses, one for Ft Lauderdale, the other on Google says Hollywood (on the map they're right next to each other). So, there is no question that this is the place. This review will clear up any confusion on that. (3) a picture of paperwork from Speed Moving and Services, a company that Nationwide Movers of America contracted out So, I am publishing that review here in hopes someone can help my family: "I'm commenting because I'm at my witt's end. I'm a disabled parent with disabled children and this company not only lost our mattresses and mobility equipment (I would have taken my medical supplies and mobility equipment in our vehicle but it wouldn't all fit, not with the children's supplies too) , but when we try and get some sort of reassurance, we are fielded to a person named "Michelle" who has been verbally cruel to us on the phone saying things that should not be said to a stranger, let alone a respectful customer. She had repeated lied to us as well, saying things that we can cross check and verify aren't true. It's been over a month with no guarantee we will see our things again, we end up paying more than we should have. There's no one we can call to get help. This has already been a drawn out emotionally and physically painful process. I feel hopeless and overwhelmed. Who can I go to about this??"
