  1. Poor quality/customer service

This company is not one you should use for long distance moving. My parents used them for moving their belongings from Indianapolis to Arizona. Only to find most of the items had been damaged. When they tried reaching out to the company in regards to the situation, they stopped answering the phone. Totally unprofessional!! And definitely not a good look !! I would never recommend New Leaf moving group to anyone!! Do to poor customer service , negligence, and damaged property. Overall rating would be in the negative for me .

  2. I Trusted New Leaf Moving

I trusted New Leaf Moving Group with my home, my lifetime items that mean the world to me. I have moved 4 times in the last 7 years using Two Guys and Syracuse moving companies with no problem.

The people at new leaf were helpful, provided a good price, trustworthy voice and promise. In addition, the timing was great for my cross country move so I went with them.

I am 65 years old and can somewhat afford the loss of inanimate objects. But trust and a good job done are things that should be strived for and its unfortunate New Leaf Moving has not followed these basic company ideals.

When I received the approximately 480 Sq ft group of boxes and Items I had sent from Connecticut, 45 of the 60 boxes were damaged. The 65” TV was broken and the box I paid extra for was not on the TV when I received it. The clothes rack, bicycle and metal utility shelves were all damaged, as well as numerous items in the damaged boxes. When I contacted New Leaf Moving Group to put in a claim they sent me to a Moving Claim company which requires you to buy a “Moving Claim Package” to process my loss and damage claim, WOW.

I am not paying for a claim package, I just want other people to know the New Leaf Moving Group will not back their business and should be held accountable for their inability to move a family safely and honestly.

  3. DO NOT hire New Leaf

TLDR - don't waste your time and money with this so-called "company." Any positive review that you read about New Leaf Moving Group should be scrutinized and met with skepticism. We fell for the trap of reading positive reviews and thinking this company was reputable, when, in fact, they simply paid for fake reviews and scammed their customers. Here are the reasons why no one should ever hire New Leaf Moving Group.

    1) They are merely a broker and hire scammers and criminals as the actual movers. For us, they hired Inch Perfect Logistics, owned by Vanessa Gonzalez, who has had multiple moving companies shut down for taking customers' belongings, storing them in empty warehouses for months at a time without ever delivering items, and even stealing and selling goods.

    2) Their sales rep required that we put down a deposit worth of the total bill, to initiate the service. A deposit IS NOT industry standard! You should run away any time a moving company asks for a deposit. Besides that, there were so many lies when they were trying to sell to us (underestimate, claim that they own trucks, promised one week delivery, arranged to pick up our car but never showed up, customer service will be with us along the way...). I can go on and on.

    3) They continuously lied to us about when we would receive our belongings from the moving company, but it turned out that they didn't know where our stuff was. It was actually sitting in a warehouse in New Jersey, mixed with other customers' stuff, and we found out only because the owner of the warehouse (who was not Inch Perfect) called my wife who left our number on all of our boxes.

After two months of calling New Leaf's customer service department without any luck, we finally realized we were completely scammed. Long story short, we hired another reputable mover and received our belongings after three months. New Leaf Moving Group did issue us a refund of the deposit, but they made our move incredibly painful by hiring a third-party criminal to collect our stuff, charging us a deposit upfront, and lying to us about the delivery progress. I could not more strongly advocate for people to not use this company. Go with a more reputable moving company like Mayflower instead.

  4. The Worst Moving Company Ever!!!!!!

Do not use this company!!!! They changed their estimate 4 times and they made me to pay $4000 more than what we agreed on. The sales guy tricked me by changing the size of the boxed to small from medium before I sign the document. I wished that would be it, but when they delivered my items in LA , I found out there are missing my all my Snowboard, Wakeboard equipments, Chair and Sofa in the value of $8000 and then they try to settle with $150 . I couldn't reach to sales person as soon as I signed the contract and nobody from the company is contacting me regarding my missing/stolen…Read more

  5. Moving Experience

This is the worst moving company and the worst moving experience of my life. Very unprofessional, significant damage to our household goods, no inventory done, no boxes labeled, unresponsive, did over $3000 damage to the house we moved from, dumped our furniture and didn’t put anything back together, extremely rude and they make the claims process so cumbersome you just give up. Do not use this company even if your just moving across rhe street.

  6. DISASTER

WHATEVER YOU DO -- DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE CROOKS. They made up a price and tacked on their huge fees FOR DOING NOTHING. They sent the absolute worst moving company to move me -- Moving Forward Express LLC. I was yelled at, bullied and extorted. My most expensive belongings were destroyed. NO RESPONSE FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE THE WORST!!!

  7. Can I give less than 1 star?

Man, these guys are Crooks with a capital C. It’s hard to know where to even start with how terrible my experience has been with them. If you look at my other reviews on Google and Yelp, I’m not just here to trash people. I normally only use those forums to highlight great local businesses. But, I wouldn’t wish New Leaf on my worst enemy.

Let’s start with the positives. It seems like they have a working phone line. That is all.

On to the negatives. There are so many bad reviews on here, it almost seems redundant to write one but here goes. Like a lot of these other people, New Leaf severely underquoted the amount of stuff we needed to move, even though they assured me they were over quoting. They subcontracted the move to another company who sent a truck (a tiny cube truck covered in graffiti) that wasn’t even big enough to load the underestimated quote. The subcontractors tried to get me to pay a whole bunch of last minute costs that New Leaf assured me I wouldn’t get hit with. When I asked the subcontractors what was going to happen with the rest of my stuff, they said they didn’t know. I would have to figure it out.

The subcontractors held my stuff ransom. I had to drive 3 hours to a warehouse in New Jersey and pay some guy over a thousand dollars cash to get my stuff back. At no point since I confirmed the job with the New Leaf booking agent (Steven Williams) have I been able to speak to anyone at New Leaf. When you call through to the 888 number you can choose 1 for a quote or 2 for customer service. If you choose 1, they say they can't help you and put you through to customer service. If you choose 2 you go directly to customer service. Either way you go straight through to an answering machine to leave a message that never gets returned.

These people are awful and shouldn’t be in business another day. If this review helps one person choose another moving company, that’s great. And, if there are any good reviews, don’t believe them. They’re probably from the owner of the company, Rebecca, who also goes by the aliases Nicole (nicole@newleafmovinggroup.com) or Kristin (kristin@purpleheartmovinggroup.com).

Finally, if you’ve already gotten into a mess with them, I’m so sorry for you. There is a woman who is heading up a class action lawsuit against them. You should email her here (newleaflawsuit@gmail.com).

  8. Horrible moving company

I used this company for a long distance move and it was in all honestly the worst moving experience I could have gotten. The Initial phone call with Jeff went great, offering an attractive quote of under $6,000 with the full list of everything we needed moved. He seemed very helpful and the offer was extremely great for our budget. Fast forward to when the movers arrive with a phone call at 6am saying they would arrive by 8am. We find out Jeff lied to us and the company about the inventory he took down, making it look like we would take up way less space than originally implied, but we had already put down a “non refundable deposit” so we had to go with it.

Moving forward to the furniture arrival; another last minute phone call the day of, saying they are here. We had the cash that we expected to pay ready, before we get the news that we needed to pay for a shuttle; an extra $1500 on top of our payment which doubled from $6,000 to $12,000 roughly. We do not have the money at the moment because we were told someone would survey the area (which did not happen) and get back to us. There are so many grievances I have with this company from the communication, to the broken items, to the exorbitant amount of additional fees. Do yourself a favor and please hire a different company; this seems like a huge scam.

  9. Criminals

New Leaf Moving Group is the worst experience with movers to date, as a retired veteran of the Army I would advise any service member of the military to use this company whatsoever, active or retired. First and foremost, they're nothing more than a broker, their sales pitch is nothing but lies, for instance they will tell all 3rd party movers are vetted...that's the first lie! The dispatched truck was late and a rental which gave me cause for concerns, from the beginning and driven by the only employee from Aegis Relocation James. James was not prepared and did not have any tie down straps and stated so initially. No covers for furniture, bedding or shrink wrapping whatsoever. No tools whatsoever, I had to drive to storage and get my tools to help them.

My wife had to go to the store, Lowe's etc., to purchase bed covers and furniture covers and bubble wrapping materials. Individuals (three) that showed up where contracted that day as sub-contractors. One individual was elderly man, one could not handle heavy furniture and caused a lot of damage to my walls and stairwell. Another individual just got off an 8-hour shift. I give them credit for trying their best, but not the professionals' movers I anticipated. We had to help them a great deal with concern for how our household goods where being loaded. No real load planning everything was a hip-shoot! In the end I requested an inventory of our household goods, and to our shock no inventory was taken. James simply stated that what is on the truck will be delivered? All these concerns were communicated to Mr. Frank Geivlis, who simply replied "excellent thank you for the information. We also have pictures for the records and a copy of your contract executed". This is disgraceful, the services sold to us is criminal and represents extremely poorly of this New Leaf Moving Group. I am requesting BBB and my legislators in South Carolina and Florida to ensure this does not happen to anyone ever again.

  10. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

This has been the worst experience. Not only did they arrive with a truck that was clearly too small, the movers said he would make it fit because they were professionals. After 6 hours of moving into the truck and everything else out onto my lawn, by 10:30pm it was clear the stuff wouldn’t fit. They told me I needed to double my original charges because they would have to come back the next day for the other things. I was clear about how much furniture I had when I spoke to Nick the sales rep. He recorded a 1 bedroom apartment knowing full well I had a 3 bedroom house with an office and a gym. I asked for them to unload my things because I could not afford the new price for the move and they refused.

After forcing me to sign another contract or leaving me with 20% of my things on the lawn they said 3-15 business days for arrival. Instead, it took nearly a month.

When my things arrived, after virtually no updates at all from the movers, they called me at 7:30pm to tell me they would be there at 9:30pm. I live alone and didn’t want 3 strange men showing up at my house after dark. I also could not access the house until Friday. When I explained that to them, they told me my choices were to take the stuff on Thursday or they would drop it in storage for me to pick up myself. I’m a single woman with no family in the United States. I will have to hire new movers to go and get the stuff after I had paid them nearly double what I was quoted.

Instead, I rented a Uhaul truck and parked it out front of my new house so they could drop the stuff there, instead of a storage locker and I hired new and different movers to help me unload my own rented Uhaul on Friday when I could get into my new house.

This experience could not have been worse. Please don’t use this company for your own peace of mind.

  11. DO NOT USE!

Its hard for me to think of how this moving company could have made my move a worse experience.

I hired them to move from New York to Illinois. The movers for the New York portion were from New Jersey and did not know how to move out a New York apartment. They would not even try to fit into the two spaces that we were holding with a motorcycle/car immediately outside my apartment.

Since they couldn’t find other parking outside my apartment, I was charged an additional $1,000 dollars for a “long carry” move. It took me a half an hour to get someone on the phone from the moving company to explore if there were any other options before having to resign to the fact that this was my only option.

They also charge you $75 for each additional stair after 10 which they do not at all make clear when they are hounding you to sign the contract.

I paid an additional $180 for packing materials and full packing service. When my items finally arrived 28 BUSINESS days later, three items (~$1,200 value) were broken beyond use and my floor lamp was not delivered at all.

Finally, Green Leaf Moving Group includes in their email outreach that your items are estimated to arrive between 3-15 business days. However, even though that is prominent in their email, their contract says 30 business days so there is no way to enforce the 3-15 timeframe they promote. When I reached out to them about this, they said I could reach out to the carrier service directly.

They only provide for one day notice prior to movers arriving. I received a call at 3pm the day before the movers would be arriving at 8am the next day to my new location in Illinois.

The movers in Illinois would only allow for payment via cash or a money order from the post office which was not the case in New York and was not relayed to me prior to that 3pm call.

I strongly do not recommend this moving company. They truly made an already stressful time worse. It took over a month for my items to be delivered and several arrived broken.

  12. Excellent example of good con artist work.

Do not bite this bate. They are good to attract you with competitive quotes, but as soon as you signed a contract and payed them you deposit they have no lost their interest in you and you are on your own against a moving company NL assigned you too. Moving company charging me $2K over the contract amount and I am still waiting for my staff. It’s been close to 30 days know. DO NOT STEP INTO THE SAME HIT I DID.

  13. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY NOW!!!!!!

They LIE, will cheat you out of your money, post FAKE reviews, hire the slimiest movers if they can even find one, might not even ever show up and will not tell you till moving day. They are brokers who take your money and then refuse to talk to you after. They took my furniture and I never saw it for 30 days and when it arrived it was all trashed!

    RUN FROM THIS COMPANY NOW!!!!!!

  14. Scam company

Where to start.... Sorry I could not give zero stars...They are not a moving company, they are brokers.... I believe they have no idea what a moving truck is. All they do is figure out how to take your money and give no services, no call back, nothing. So sad they are still in business. PEOPLE... READ THE REVIEWS.... NO STARS, THEY SAY IT ALL... YOU PAY AND THEY LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK WITH YOUR MONEY..... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REMOVE THEM FROM THE WEB.... HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO BE SUBJECTED TO THIS.... NEW LEAF, OLD LEAF, OMG

  15. THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM!

BEWARE, New Leaf Moving IS A TOTAL SCAM COMPANY.

New Leaf Moving is a broker who got me to sign up and pay them. Then they lied to me. Contract says 24-48 hrs notice for movers to show. They called at 9am and said movers are coming in 5 hrs, between 2-4.

MOVERS NEVER SHOWED UP! MOVERS NEVER CALLED!

Called NLM but you just get a recording and then they never call you back.

MOVERS NEVER SHOW UP BUT YOU PAY ANYWAY.

It's a nightmare working with them. They just lie about the price, about the times and dates.

SAVE YOURSELF THE NIGHTMARE AND DO NOT USE THEM.
