  1. Pickfords - furniture into storage.

We were very pleased with the service received from Pickfords. Our Move Manager provided all the support we needed, and answered our questions. The team on the day were very efficient, they had cleared the house of furniture and loaded up the van in around an hour and a half. Our furniture was being put into storage and they did a great job fitting it into the container.

  2. Removal, Storage & Delivery of household goods.

The overall experience of moving house was extremely stressful, however the organising and implementing of moving our household effect was the part that was the easiest and less stressful of the whole move. Sarah Ganney who was our move manager sorted everything out for us and always responded very quickly to any questions or concerns I had. The removal team led by Martin was equally professional in both packing up and unpacking at the other end. These teams are without a doubt an absolute credit to the company and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Pickford for any removal.

  3. Crews steals small items casually.

I was advised that I didn't need to pack items in drawers because they will be covered by sheet of paper/cloth by crews on the day of move and I thought that was really helpful with reducing the amount of my packing. However, after the move finished, we started noticing small items were missing from some drawers such as miniature telescope or confectioneries. Although they are not high value items (of course we packed all high value items separately and carried by ourselves), it doesn't mean that they can be nicked by the such big removal company's "well trained" crews. It was very sad day for us to have realised that someone we trusted behaved in such manner. The customer service is totally heartless, I informed them about this but they were not really interested in our report.
It's not about the value of the items, it is about the principle. Any removal company crews shouldn't interfere clients personal belongings. Don't trust their crews.

  4. Pickfords.

Do not under any circumstances use Pickfords, we were returning customers and wanted them to move us again, they were confirmed on 26th June to do the job on 18th July, they pulled out today. They were very apologetic but apparently it happens now and again!

  5. Professional and efficent personal service in a friendly manner.

Throughout the whole of the exercise of estimate, arrangement and collection the Pickford's team who have dealt with it have been a credit to and ambassadors for that company. From a time scale and pricing point they were the most competitive.
Once at the docks and transatlantic I presume they will continue to monitor to ensure a successful conclusion.

  6. First class.

Efficient and friendly. Ready to go the extra mile. Unreservedly recommend the services offered. The team packed my items and transported them then unloaded quickly and without damage or fuss. The team were friendly and made the experience stress free. The survey team and move coordinator were personable and kind. All in all a first class service.

  7. Move to Australia from uk.

Have only just taken shipment out of storage.six months after delivery.
Found excessive paper wrapping on stupid items ie one small steel egg cup two sheets, even found a small bulldog clip actually wrapped in one whole sheet.
A family heirloom of near 100 years in porcelain and inscribed and non replaceable, had just one sheet of paper, it was a large urn with handles, was packed in a box of kitchen stuff, and when unpacked found the top rim broken,
The consignment was badly identifiable , and all rooms where muddled, lots of boxes marked books, and contained more of other stuff.
Packed my husbands ashes for a service we were going to have when family together, which we had to postpone as we didn't know which box they were in, and had to wait till now as only just found them.
Boxes in some cases were underpacked, with a large item , but light and could have had other items packed around them.
Some boxes were only half full and packed out with paper.
The bed legs were not packed within the bed, and again these have only just been found.
Overall it was a haphazard pack, a lot of space was wasted, and think overall I could have saved at least seven boxes, which as was on a budgets would have helped ,instead had to get rid of stuff that could have come over,as the space was there, just badly used .
Seemed more interested in charging me more at the end of the pack, which now I know was totally unessassary .
I do intend to write to head office. It was from Truro but not on list.

  8. Full packing service - totally worth it!

Great experience with Pickfords full packing and removal service. We moved with a toddler and a 3 week old baby and with this service, it was pretty much stress free. Our account manager was helpful from the off despite a few stops and starts with completion and removal dates.

Most of our stuff was packed the night before then they whizzed round the following morning to get final bits together. I couldn't believe how quick and efficient it was to get everything in and out the lorry and no broken plates etc.

We were late getting our keys and yet were still set up with beds / sofas in the new house by 5 pm.

I would thoroughly recommend this service - great price too.

  9. Pickfords.

Mixed bag. Uplift from London was efficient and chaps were friendly. I was told they would 'crate' one large and precious painting, but found out later it had merely been wrapped in usual wrap, resulting in damage to frame. Our belongings were in storage for over a year and when they were delivered to Edinburgh there were signs of having been stored in damp conditions. Driver from London was a misery and complained about having to drive up in pouring rain and left most of the work to others (local lads were fantastic and never stopped). Several boxes were soaked through but he didn't tell me at the time. The wet boxes had been concealed in dry boxes. Beware the fact that you only have a certain length of time to report damage - not easy with large numbers of boxes. We're still finding damage. Would not use them again.

  10. Home move.

In recent years we have moved home 5 times and this was the best experience of the lot. This was a slick and professional operation and we were impressed with all of the staff that we encountered; including the office staff on the telephone. The surveyor had the sense to look at access arrangements for the new property and identified logistical issues that were overlooked by other companies that had quoted. A solution was provided at short notice. The level of care and attention to protect walkways and carpets surpassed previous experiences. The crew were polite, efficient, friendly and helpful throughout the two days of the move. No request was too much for them!

  11. Gold star service.

The service provided was excellent all round, from the initial survey to the packing and moving teams. All the personnel were pleasant and efficient and made the experience as easy as possible. Packing was careful and efficient, there was constant consultation regarding items of special importance so that I felt my individual needs were addressed. The team were also considerate of my 2 cats throughout the packing and moving. I would heartily recommend the company.

  12. Poor service.

Dreadful, couldn't find anything on arrival, would never use them again, cowboys
Only bother about how many cups of tea they had, just separated everything in different boxes, was a nightmare, wrapped things up unnecessary.rubbish rubbish rubbish rubbish rubbish rubbish rubbish enough charities

Worst day, very hard to move could have done without that lot.
Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad.

  13. Collection for storage.

Collection of furniture to be taken into storage whilst building work undertaken. Courtesy call the day before to indicate arrival time. Nice touch. Arrived on time introduced themselves by first name and gave a brief overview of what they would do and explained that the furniture would be placed into a container and taken to general storage and kept until we requested its return. Totally painless experience. Thankyou.

  14. Excellent removal service.

Pickfords provided us with a full packing and removal service. The team were professional, friendly and very efficient. Having moved house twice in five months, first time doing it ourselves, I can recommend the staff and removal team of John and Steve very highly. Saved my sanity. Thanks to them I've been able to unpack all our belongings with two days of moving into our new home.

  15. Packing And Moving w Ith Pickfords.

I am really happy with the removal company Pickfords and the great team they sent out to me. Everything has been packaged and moved carefully and the team were very professional and helpful. As the items were coming into the house, every item was placed and or moved to my specification with no fuss. A great service, would recommend. Boxes and paper have been arranged to be collected after unpacked which saves a trip to the tip too!
