  1. This is NOT a "quality" service moving company

If I could gave zero stars I would. I would NOT recommend this company to family, friends, or even strangers. Please review the Yelp reviews and the BBB reviews, not only the Google and Home Advisor reviews like I did, and make the horrible, horrible, mistake of hiring this company to do a local move (Woodbridge, VA to Stafford, VA) like I did.

Since, this company refuses to be professional and address my grievances privately I have decided to make my grievances public:

I was very disappointed and frustrated with the moving service I received from Quality Service Moving. I was told by sales rep. Christopher Mitcham on numerous occasions during the in-home estimate that the movers would be at my mother's apartment to move her into her new townhouse by 8:30am, June 10, 2021. However, on the day of the move the movers did not arrive until 11:30am. No one contacted me to tell that the movers were running late nor had a prior job. It took ME calling the company TWO times that day before I was given a time frame of 8am to 10am, and even then the movers still did not arrive until over an hour later.

By my THIRD call I was transferred to warehouse dispatch where a young man told me that someone "from the crew" would contact me about their ETA. I did not receive this call until well after 11am and by then I was growing increasingly frustrated due to it being such a late start time (well after the promised 8:30am). Not to mention traffic was starting to increase, and anyone who lives in Northern VA would agree that Thursday afternoon traffic can be brutal.

Again, I was very disappointed and frustrated with the service. Not only did the crew start late, but multiple items were damaged in the move due to water damage ( multiple items being left out on the curb when a storm passed through, after I TOLD the crew a storm was coming) and in the move itself.

Now let me be CLEAR, I do not hold the movers/ the crew that was sent to do the move responsible. They did the best they could given that they were sent on a prior job before my move.

INSTEAD, I hold Mr. Mitcham and Quality Services Moving responsible because:

    1. He (Mr. Mitcham) assured me that the movers would start by 8:30am on June 10, 2021.

    2. He never told me of the possibility that the crew assigned to my move could have a prior job scheduled; and

    3. He nor anyone from the company called me let me know on the day of the move the movers ETA.

I do believe had the crew started at 8:30am like they were supposed to, they would have finished a lot sooner, thus leading me to pay closer to $1860 I was originally quoted and not $2455 (an almost $600 difference). Instead these boys did not finish until almost 9pm at night. And after speaking with Mr. Mitcham's supervisor, VP of sales Mike Sipple, I was told that because the move took so long, it appeared that the crewed moved DOUBLE the weight that was originally estimated by Mr. Mitcham, which is a LIE. If anything the crew moved LESS weight, since prior to the move we moved out over 90 boxes ourselves beforehand.

And so, instead of receiving any sincere apology or compensation, I have received basically radio silence as I wait to hear back from "quality control." It has now been almost two months since the move and my issues with the service I received are STILL unresolved with this company.

Ugh, and they have the nerve to call themselves "Quality" Services Moving...what a joke.

  2. Move In Day.

The gentleman that moved us in were excellent. Personable and careful with our items. They moved quickly with a large move. Great job! Sr, Kafumba, Alhaji, Dave, Denzel, Eddie and Israel were great guys and hard workers.

  3. Move-in date.

Keya, Eddie, and Damien moved all of my household goods in flawlessly. They were professional, polite, and were knowledgeable of their job. They also overcame the obstacles in my apartment to deliver my goods in a timely manner. I would highly recommend.

  4. Storage pick up.

Byron, Eddie, Tony and Darius are the best without question. Showed up on on time completely prepared. Finished on time and clean up after. Could not be more pleased with their service.

Request this team for your next move you will not be disappointed.

  5. Hands down. The best moving experience I have ever had.

I hired Quality Services Moving to move my mother in law from MD to Va. The guys were on time, polite and cared for her belongings as if they were there own.

  6. Quality Services Moving.

My moving team called me about 30 minutes prior to arrival. Which I thought was a great touch. The crew was amazing. They were polite, courteous and worked extremely hard. I moved from a 4th floor apartment and not one time did I hear the guys complain about all the steps. Job well down Quality. I highly recommend Quality services moving.

  7. Quality Moving Services.

This was by far the best moving company I’ve had. I have moved 5 times with the military so that is 10 moving companies I have delt with. Gary and Dave were so friendly and super polite. Their commitment to customer service and satisfaction was effortless and evident. 10/10 highly recommend.

  8. Scam artists.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. EVER. They lie about their 'estimates'. they send unprofessional people to pack. They damage boxes and furniture and refuse to compensate. They use fake reviews to pad up their ratings. Mike Sipple, the manager of the company, claims to be a Marine veteran, but NO veteran would dishonor his rank or his service by using his status to sell and then mismanage his company. He should be ashamed, but he isn't.

    Here are the specifics:

He estimated 8,000 for the entire move. This ballooned to 18,000 AFTER they had already packed everything. LIARS.

He offered us the option to pay extra for reimbursement in case of any breakage. Since they broke MULTIPLE items and refused to compensate us, wasted money.

They actually moved our stuff from one truck to another and LOST an entire bed board. Who the heck does that?

They refused to return any of our calls. All calls went to voice mail. The ONLY answer they have ever given us since our move was to rebut our reviews.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. DO NOT USE. LIARS AND SCAMMERS.

  9. Great experience.

Malcolm and TJ arrived before schedule. Conducted a quick walk through. Between the Packers and movers everything was packed up and loaded in record time. Courteous, prompt, and thorough..great military move experience for pick up.

  10. Quality Services Moving.

We used Quality Services Moving located in Lorton, VA, for our move from Ashburn VA, to Lakeland, FL. The bid that we were given on 5/17/19 was an estimated $14801.84 for an estimated 24832 lbs.. Subsequent to the bid, we sold a 3 piece BAR-B-Q set, and a 3 piece sectional. We added a pool table. When our items arrived on the first truck on June , we were billed $15323.76, which we thought was the total cost of the move. [the additional charges were for the pool table break down and packing two chandeliers].
When the 2nd truck arrived on June 8th, 2019, we were told that there was an additional charge of $10423.57 because our total weight was 43780 lbs., not the estimate of 24832 lbs..
We had 3 other bids for our move and all came in with a weight of 23-24,500 lbs. We had done a move to Maryland a few years earlier, and our weight was 31000 lbs. We had sold or donated a number of items [entertainment center, bedroom set, hot tub, 3 couches, two chairs, etc] so we had every reason to believe that the weight estimates were correct. [it should be noted that the estimator from QSM came to our home three times, including 12 days before the move and confirmed the estimates].
When our furniture arrive, we were appalled at the condition of our furniture and how it had been stored: Our Sleep Number bed was ROLLED up in clear plastic; a MBR mirror was partially wrapped in a blanket and the tip was stuck thru the bottom of one of our box springs; a 42 TV was blanket wrapped and had a cracked screen; the headboard from our MBR set was broken; one of the posters for the MBR bed was broken at the bottom, the canopy for the MBR bed was broken [1" metal] and they lost one of the finials and the finial base. [It should be noted that the MBR set was in their storage and still suffered severe damage]. They also damaged more than 20 other items, including expensive mirrored chests and artwork. A pole lamp was snapped in half. Two chandeliers arrived with half of the crystals lying at the bottom of the cardboard "crate" that they had constructed for the transport.
Overall, QSM failed to provide a quality moving experience.
E-mail correspondence from Ed Graves, the owner, has been snarky and he has shown no willingness to accept responsibility for his company's actions.
I have email correspondence to support the fact that I have tried to work this out with QSM as well as the pictures of the truck supporting my claim of poor service.

  11. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL, DO NOT EVER USE THESE MOVERS

When I scheduled my move with them on Memorial Day weekend in May, 2016, they were supposed to send 4 guys and only three showed up. I felt bad for them, they worked their butts off without enough materials and enough time and I blame their management, not them. A 4th guy was supposed to show up but never did. This delayed my plans significantly as I was on a very very tight schedule and was moving overseas, I had the cleaning people coming, I had to get out of my condo as the new owners were coming and I had a strict deadline. The stress I endured was unreal, I was completely frazzled by the time I got on my plane to Copenhagen. They were supposed to come and pack everything and put it in storage in their warehouse. The guys were inconsistent on how they packed things, some were crazily overpacked with paper and others barely packed at all or not even in boxes, as they too were stressed and did not seem to expect the amount of stuff I had to have packed.

By this time it was way too late for me to change plans, I had my stuff in storage with them for the entire time I was overseas and also had a brand new piece of furniture delivered to them while I was away direct from the Herman Miller factory in Michigan. So, almost 3 years later when I moved back to the USA, I thought it was going to be much easier to deal with them to get my items.

This time the move was much better but a couple boxes turned up missing, mostly kitchen items, silverware and dishes and the brand new piece of Herman Miller furniture was "forgotten" at the warehouse and they had to go back and get it. When they brought it they unpacked it and lo and behold it was damaged. These incompetents had likely stood it upright in the truck and did not brace it or strap it and it tipped over and the metal legs were bent, the back panel was cracked and two metal braces inside the unit where also bent. Metal does not get bent without SERIOUS impact, as all this damage occurred while the unit was still in the original factory packaging. Herman Miller can fix it but it is going to cost me $700 dollars to fix and all the designer dishes and silverware at least several hundred dollars to replace.

I filed a claim within the 30 day time period and so far NOTHING and it is now 3 months later. I keep getting excuses, can't get replies to my emails and I am having to protest the charge for the move with my credit card company which is my only recourse.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. AVOID THESE MOVERS LIKE THE PLAGUE. If you do use them, take photos of EVERYTHING and document it thoroughly and pack it yourself. Make extra copies of the bill of lading and take it with you and put it in a safe place, and make extra copies of the inventory list as well. Better yet, FIND ANOTHER MOVER.

  12. Good luck getting your household goods!

Hands down the worst experience I have had with a moving company. The military requires us to move every couple of years so I have eight prior moves with various companies under my belt. This company was over a week late even scheduling a delivery (we were three weeks without household goods). When they did schedule a delivery day, they never showed up and never called! My wife and I took the day off work to sit and wait. When we called the office they had no idea the delivery was even supposed to take place! By far the most incompetent moving group I have had the displeasure of working with.

  13. Quality Services Moving - Bad Quality!!

I will inform you how the June 2018 move went with the understanding that we were EXTREMELY dissatisfied with Quality Services and believe Quality Services should be reviewed before used in military moves. We believe we had our move information submitted in plenty of time to have had senior employees serve us. We also believe Quality Services dropped the ball, did not have us on their paperwork, thus, gave us the newbies as well as the crappy leaky trucks. No one could give us a date as to when our items would be delivered. Even the quality assurance person who came out stated he would find out and inform us later that day as to when our items would be delivered, but he never got back to us.

We have moved 22 times in the past 34 years, half being with the military. This move ranked as one of the 2 worse moves! The lack of organization, newness of all the employees, unprofessional last minute contacts, mismanage of time coordination, and high employee dissatisfaction is by far a distasteful view of Quality Services. Even the V.P. of the Quality Services informed me that the information I was receiving from Quality Services employees was like me receiving information about a flight status from a child on an airplane, and it shouldn't be believed. His opinion of his own employees, based on that example, was plain to see how lowly he thinks of them.

I will say that the new employees seemed sorrowful as to the predicament we were placed in, apologized profusely for the company's inadequacies, and worked to satisfy us.

Here is a run down of how the move went with Quality Services:

    1. We were informed March 10th who the movers would be.
    2. Quality Services DID NOT contact us at all. A few days before the move we had to contact Quality Services to see when someone would be out to decide how many boxes would be needed.
    3. The people sent to pack us up had experience of only weeks and days, instead of the usual long term employees. Many of the items were not paper wrapped, but put in boxes. Some of our open containers, with small items, were placed upside down in boxes, not wrapped in paper, so when we lifted the container, the items went everywhere (i.e. pens, pencils). I had to inform one packer to wrap the containers he was placing in a box. Other items, I.e. shoes, were thrown on top of each other, not wrapped, which caused some shoes to be squished and deformed upon removal.
    4. The truck sent to be loaded was half the size it should have been. We had to complain and call multiple times to get a second truck sent out.
    5. Because the truck was not the proper size and the second truck had no blankets, more blankets had to be requested and brought over. Again, more phone calls and demands.
    6. The people sent to load the items were 3 youths who had worked less than 2 weeks each! The driver, 1 1/2 years. Usually on a move this size, 6 to 8 are sent to load. Again, we had to complain, and call multiple times to have additional loaders brought.
    7. Because of the 3 inexperienced movers, even after 3 extras were brought out, the movers did not complete the job until after 10:30pm.
    8. Due to the late night, the drivers who delivered our items, forgot to weigh the trucks and wanted to turn back to weigh at Quality Services. My husband paid the fee to have the trucks weighed near by because the driver did not have the money and we would have lost an addition 3 to 4 hours had the driver returned to Quality Services for a weighing.
    9. Again, the un-loaders had less than 2 weeks experience and only 4 were sent. This caused slowness, us once again calling and complaining to request additional un-loaders, 2 more coming out in the evening, the un-loaders did not finishing until after 10pm.
    10. One of the trucks had a leak and do to rain, water damaged boxes and antiques inside the truck.
    11. Due to the inexperience and mishandling of heavy, antique items, damage occurred.

  14. Steve & Judy P.

Our movers from Charlotte, NC to Chester, MD, on the Chester end were Terrell, Luis, & Erick.
They did a fabulous job, it was a hot day & there were a couple of flights of stairs involved.
They were meticulous, courteous & extremely competent. I would recommend them to anyone needing a great team!

  15. Moving and unpacking.

I had the pleasure of working with Collin ,Angel and Curtis today for my move and unpacking. They are a formidable team and accomplished the job thoroughly and efficiently.
As a senior citizen, I appreciate the patience warmth and caring way they accomplished their duties for me.
    I am particularly proud of
how your agency represents the military and aided me to select you for my business.
