  1. Move from california to new york.

    Comments: I wanted to thank Ship Smart for helping make my daughter’s relocation easier. The company was professional, kind, and helpful. Too often we take the time to write a review of complaint, so I wanted to make sure I could relate how pleased we were with the way this company handled everything for us.   2. Fast and Easy, Good Price.

    I just recently moved a small amount from Houston to Chicago. The initial sales call was pretty quick and they emailed me some documents to fill out to move forward. Once I decided to use them after calling around for a while, I was picked up within a few days. After about a week, week and a half they called and told me everything was ready to be shipped. The cost was a bit more but I had them take more so I was expecting a little increase. After I paid, everything was shipped and a few days later my stuff was dropped off in my garage. I elected to do the unpacking to save the money. Anyway, I would recommend them and definitely use them for my next move.

  3. I Had a Great Experience.

    They moved me from Portland to Miami. Everything went smooth, their communication was great and the cost was reasonable. It took a little over 3 weeks to get my stuff and it arrived just as it had left. Bravo!

  4. Horrible Customer Service.

    This moving company is by FAR the worst I’ve ever used. They told me my items would ship on a specific date then said it would be 6 days later. Their response was, your contract says, “there are no guarantees.” So much for customer service. The person on the phone was dismissive and unhelpful.

    If you are looking for a moving company whose goal is providing quality service at a great price, look no further than ShipSmart. We have had two successful moves with ShipSmart, and can not be more pleased with their care of our belongings and accommodation on moving dates and always responding to calls and emails immediately. Our moves from Northern to Southern California were easy especially since they had on record our moving boxes and furniture from our first move so they were so helpful to ensure all our moving needs were met the second time around. Best moving company!

  6. Complete Dishonesty.

    I would give zero stars if possible. I'm in the process of reporting this company to the Better Busses Bureau for deceptive practices. They are a HORRIBLE company. They do not deserve a dime of your money. They will tell you one thing and then try to extort further money out of you. They will not adhere to an agreed upon delivery schedule. You’ll be lucky if you get your things a month after the date they give you and when you do get your things they will most likely be damaged. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Watch out for Mike especially, he is the most dishonest sales rep I have ever dealt with.

  7. Shipsmart.

    I used Shipsmart to move several large inherited items from California to Boston and Alabama, only because they appeared to be the only company that handled this type of small long-distance move. Because they don't have much competition, they appear to be able to get away with poor service and tracking. Shipsmart did not track my shipment carefully, and was not able to assess where damage to my items occurred. An antique chest arrived with a leg ripped off. Several boxes of books and toys were torn open and items missing and damaged. My items were not on their original palette when they arrived -- and Shipsmart never informed me why they had been separated. This company subcontracts with small moving and shipping services at your place of pickup and delivery. They do not exert good control over those subcontracted services. My cross-country shipment took almost 4 months, and their only excuse was that they (ie: their subcontractors) were busy and it was around the holiday season. I filed a claim with the insurance they offered for this move, but the insurance provider did not pay the claim. Shipsmart eventually sent me a check to cover the damages, after I persisted with my complaints. With this company, you need to be persistent and ask a lot of questions if your shipment is delayed or damaged. This was not an easy move.

  8. Best Experience Ever!

    My favorite aunt was moving from her home in Arizona to a retirement community. She decided not to take her hand-crafted cherry hutch she and my uncle had built for them by a craftsman in Tennessee 45 years ago. Her children nor her grandchildren wanted it and the heirloom piece was going to a thrift shop. So, I bought it! I understand history and heirlooms. I was not going to allow it to slip out of our family. A local moving company put me in contact with ShipSmart and I am so glad they did! The service given to me by ShipSmart was Class A from beginning to end. The hutch was picked up from my cousin's home and packed exceptionally well. They did an excellent job of keeping in touch with me and letting me know exactly what was happening with my heirloom hutch and where it was at all times. That gave me so much confidence! The hutch was delivered to my home an hour ahead of the scheduled time! James and Garret were extremely professional in how they handled the hutch. They brought it into our home, unwrapped it, and set it up in it's new home..my husband's den. The hutch was in perfect condition with the exception of the few scratches my aunt had told me about. So there was no damage done during shipping. The move of this family heirloom was so easy with ShipSmart and I can say with certainty I would use them again! Thank you Robert Chance for helping me with this move! I appreciate you and your team so much! .

  9. Moving items across the country.

    I have just sent two teak bed-bases and a fragile shelf that goes with the bed pieces with Ship Smart. They were wonderful from start to finish. The office staff is friendly, concerned, careful.. as were the movers themselves. They were very careful when carrying the heavy pieces out of the house to their truck; never touched a wall or other furniture with them. The pieces were packed well, and my daughter received everything in great shape. The shipment went from CA to MD. Arrangements were made so that she could be present to receive. Pieces were carried in to the house and all packing materials were taken away. Thank you Ship Smart for such a good job! Definitely recommend them!

  10. HORRIBLE experience with Ship Smart.

    An all-around HORRIBLE experience!
    When going to the customers’ review page on the Ship Smart website the opening statement is “Customer satisfaction is our number one priority.” Could not be farther from the truth to describe my experience with Ship Smart.
    Movers came 4 hours late! I had been given a window of noon to 2p for the pick up and that it would take an estimated 1 hour to pick up and load the truck. I called in the morning multiple times just to ensure this time table was accurate. I called so many times that the front desk lady answering the phone knew it was me when I asked to double check because I NEEDED to be back in the office afterwards for an important meeting. The movers did not arrive until 4:20pm and I subsequently missed an important meeting I needed to be at to prepare work for my move.
    Not to mention, while the pickup was happening a couple plates and bowls were dropped and broke. But hey- I brushed that off because if that was all that was going to break I could swallow moving past a couple flatware items.
    The estimated 2-3 weeks from pick up to the ware house scheduling your delivery is more like 3-4 weeks. Just plan accordingly.
    After I called 3 weeks and 3 days after my items were pickup, the warehouse claimed my items weighed more and the bill was going to be 70% higher than the estimate given. I take responsibility that instead of 20 boxes I had 24 boxes and an additional yoga bag with a mat and a 24” flat screen tv. Those items I had not given in my estimate, but that DOES NOT constitute over $1;500 more in cost! What’s the point of even giving an estimate if you’re going to claim the price to be almost double?
    Next, I get my items delivered and find that everything had been shrink wrapped onto a pallet and is NOT well packaged for the trip. Furious is one of the first words that comes to mind. Everything of mine was thrown into an oversized box and crushed. I knew a pallet would be mode of transportation, but nothing was wrapped properly and items were thrown in haphazardly.
    As the movers unloaded my items into my garage and house, I realize my 36”x36”x12” cupboard is completely crushed with door hinges broken and the wood snapped and my floor lamp, the lamp shade has been crushed along with curtain rods and closet rods are bent or snapped in half.
    The real icing on the cake though, I had a couple months new couch before moving. The couch was delivered to me with large watermark stains and dirt-like stains on the cushions and arm rests. AND the legs to the couch are missing and still have not been found by the warehouse. What am I supposed to do with a new couch that is now stained and missing legs?
    Lastly, the only redeeming quality about this horrible experience is the 2 men who picked up my stuff and the 2 men who delivered my stuff were very nice and I felt comfortable having them handling my things. BUT they are not Smart Ship employees, they are hired out help through the warehouses. Dealing over the phone with Smart Ship was a less than pleasant experience.
    When you are a business delivering a service to a customer, I would rather you be not nice people and do a good job at that service. You should be working for the customer who needs help, Ship Smart has made my move exponentially harder and has ruined furniture that money cannot even fix. You have successfully ruined a new couch, crushed a cupboard, broken a floor lamp, bent my curtain rods, shattered some flatware, over-billed me by 170%, came for my pick up 4 hours late and made my move to a whole new state more stressful than it already was.
    If you are reading this review, do NOT use this company. You are looking to hire help to make the heavy lifting and transportation of goods easier on yourself and this company will have you worrying about your personal belongings and will be difficult to deal with along the way. When I was deciding which company to help my move I found several others with estimated costs very similar and it would be worth while for you to use an alternative company.
    The 1 star is for the 4 men who were nice picking up and dropping off. But nothing about moving with Ship Smart is in fact smart.

  11. Ship Smart is World Class!

    I was absolutely blown away from start to finish with Ship Smart! This moving company not only has integrity and an outstanding customer service culture, they also know how to exceed expectations. None of these exemplary traits are found commonly in moving companies. I trusted them, and it paid off. They are trustworthy and truly a bright shining star among so many shady rotten apples. Their employees are bright, empowered, empathetic, kind and upbeat. They treated my things as if they were their own. I cannot endorse them enough.

  12. A great service for affordable moving!

    I had a small amount of items to move (just the furniture from one bedroom) so I was looking for a service that would make this affordable for me. ShipSmart came highly recommended and it was very easy to use! The staff were always helpful when I had questions or concerns. The movers on both sides worked so hard to make it easy and convenient for me. I had some issues with my storage unit and the movers were very flexible about the pickup, which alleviated a lot of my stress in the situation. When they dropped my stuff off, the movers had to navigate some difficult circumstances but they never complained and handled it all very well! I am so appreciative of the entire experience!

  13. Moving from CA to IN!

    I first heard about this company through Devin Still's (NFL Player), through his tweeter account. I had already made arrangements with two other companies to come by and give me an estimate, but once I called Ship Smart and spoke with a customer service agent, I immediately hung-up and cancelled the walkthroughs. the customer service agent was friendly, understanding and very patient! She gave me an estimate of the moving items and I was very pleased. These excellent service continued during the next couple of weeks when representatives contacted me to confirm and assure me that the movers would be at my location at the date and time I requested.

    On June 19, 2017, I received a phone call from one of the movers to confirm our time and due to my hectic work schedule, he and the other mover actually waited for me as I had to drop off some important documents that had to be submitted by 9:00 a.m. that same morning. Upon greeting the movers, they were AWESOME! Very friendly, professional and efficient!

    The packing and moving of all my belongings took no more than 2.5 hours, including breaking down a bed. They did everything!!

    Now this company has several options to ship your belongings and I choose the less expensive because I had been living in two places for a year, so I had no rush in receiving my belongings from CA, as I had already moved and shipped (UPS) important documents throughout the one year. Therefore, when it was time for my belongings to be delivered, I still had to postpone for two weeks, as I had to return to CA for business. The representative understood and allowed me to store my belongings in there warehouse for those two weeks, FREE!

    On Monday, 08/14/17, all my belongings were delivered to me in Indiana, again by two excellent movers! They were just as friendly, professional and efficient as the movers in California. And just so you know, I paid for door-to-door service and believe me I received just that!

    After delivery, I immediately tweeted Devon Still to thank him for his tweet because I would have not known about this company if it wasn't for my love of football and those players who I follow because they are players who care about family and community. I'm not big on social media and Mr. Still may have never received my thank you tweet, but I hope anyone who reads this post and knows Mr. Still will let him know I say 'THANK YOU!' for spreading the word about this AWESOME company, Ship Smart.

    To all the employees I spoke with over the phone and met in person, you are all WONDERFUL! Thank you so much for being so kind to this 50+ Female, who lives a crazy business life. You allowed me to have a peace of mind using your services and trust me I have told everyone about your company and will continue to do so.

    I know our paths will cross again as I will have to move to Texas within the next five to 10 years. So to anyone really wanting to have excellent service and a peace of mind, please do not hesitate to contact Ship Smart! The prices are very good and don't compare to the excellent red carpet service they provide!

  14. Fantastic Service!

    I was in a huge bind: I had booked a moving company that cancelled on me the day that they were suppose to show up. I was scrambling to find a company for my long distance move with literally ONE day notice.

    ShipSmart to the rescue!! They were so helpful and offered support and assured me that I would be taken care of. Customer service/sales was fantastic. They walked me through the paperwork process and had my reservation confirmed within an hour. The movers arrived exactly on-time, were extremely friendly, and packed everything with extreme care.

    Due to my last minute booking, ShipSmart did inform me that it may take up to 4 weeks for my furniture to me delivered across several states. I was a-okay with that as they saved me from being stranded with a house full of furniture that I couldn't move on my own. Once again, they exceeded my expectations - they called me within 10 days to tell me my stuff was on the way. It was delivered at my door step, 700 miles away, within 15 days.

    10/10 would recommended. They were awesome!

  15. Need a small IN STATE move? Don't bother even calling them!!

    I have a BIG problem that they don't make it extra clear they only want to handle long distance moves. In fact, this should be a pop up or something PROMINENTLY displayed as soon as you access their site. They make it out like they are this simple shipping solution. They aren't. My husband and I just traded in our Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had a tow hitch, for a new Nissan Rogue that has no tow hitch. Our washer and dryer unexpectedly went out on us today. A friend has a washer and dryer sitting in storage which she doesn't need. All we need is a way to get it here from the Atlanta area up close to the Tennessee line. This came across as the perfect solution when I did a google search for "move small items IN STATE." It is absolutely unacceptable that they don't put this information out there as a caveat under Get an Estimate! I can't believe I can't find someone to do this simple job. And I am even more irritated that this company popped up at the top of my search!!
