  1. This Company is a Scam!

Once they get your ACH deposit you’re done.
They didn’t even show up for our scheduled move. Probably because we were too far away. I guess I should be grateful given the other reviews of additions fees and property being stolen, damaged or just never showing up.

  2. Theifs.

My mother found this company to help us move from Florida to Washington. When I spoke with Mike on the phone everything seemed great. Day of pick up- Danny Melendez was wonderful. Very friendly, acknowledged my kids, told me about his kids etc. All my belongings were packed up with care. I had to pay $600 more than what was quoted on the phone but I said what the hell..I need my things moved and Danny was nice. 2 months later I finally get my things after being told multiple times they couldn't get me an exact date blah blah.. I still was calm..no big deal. The guys finally get here with my things and I notice I am missing 3 boxes. I had numbered all my boxes so 4,5,and 6 were missing. I still paid the delivery guys and told them I would contact the office. I AM STILL BEING NICE AT THIS TIME. I called and they seem to not care and tell me to file a report. I did this back in AUGUST 2018. I have not heard anything from them. I now notice they are "out of business" and I can no longer contact them. They have my wedding albums, my children's Christmas ornaments they have made me since they were little, they have my DEAD grandmothers stuffed animal I have had my whole life, house decor etc. I even offered to fly out to wherever they left my [EDIT] for 2months to pick it up myself and call it a day. I want my [EDIT]. I paid for my belongings to get here and I am missing my belongings. I am no longer being nice and considering most of the guys in the office had used their cells- danny, mike, jason etc at one point to contact me or personal emails..its really not that hard to look em up and find REAL addresses.

  3. Moving cost and service.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! MY INITIAL COST TO MOVE FROM OHIO TO ARIZONA WAS QUOTED AS BEING $11,000 IT TURNED OUT TO BE OVER $27,000. THEY will brake your things and not reimburse you for it. I filed a claim 6 months ago and I'm still waiting for reimbursement!! They even had the nerve to try and charge me for going up and down the stairs.(really) who does that! They will never answer you phone calls or voice mail messages. It took them 3 months to deliver my home furnishings. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.IF YOU DO YOU WILL I REPEAT WILL REGRET IT!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY I IMPLORE YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE.

  4. Worthless and unprofessional thieves attempting to run a business.

My father moved from Florida to New Mexico in late June. He entered into a contract for a move that was estimated to be completed within 7 days. The crew loading the truck were relatively efficient and professional however that ended rapidly after his belongings were on the road. My father's belongings were not delivered as promised. This sorry excuse for a business time after time told him that they did not have a moving order in their system for him. They told him this repeatedly. Finally have several phone calls they found his "moving order" and informed him his belongings were still in Florida and they did not have any idea when the truck would be on the road because they could not find a driver in the area needing to get to the Southwest region. I personally have been in the Transportation Industry for over 15 years and this is NEVER a viable excuse. As a trucking company it is your responsibility to get the freight moved when promised to the customer even if it means take a hit on your profits. It was close to 3 months before they finally delivered my father's belongings and within those 3 months my father made multiple calls for an ETA on his delivery and received no call back. Upon delivery the driver was incredibly unprofessional, lazy and down right nasty. At one point he refused to carry on of my dad's couches into the house because of the shear weight. He said he was not going to lift the couch into the house and rather he was going to leave it in the driveway. After the delivery was "complete" my father began to unpack his belongings and quickly realized that over 80% of his kitchen housewares were completely destroyed -broken in pieces and my Dad paid for them to pack these items as stated on his contract. They damaged an antique family heirloom -- cedar chest. At least 60% of his framed pictures were damaged --in pieces. My father called the company's office to report these issues and the response was absolutely despicable . They were horribly rude and disrespectful. They would not allow him to speak about his concerns. They spoke over him and told him there is no evidence that this was the responsibility of the driver. They told him that he should have inspected his goods before the driver departed which was not even a possibility. The driver was demanding about having his paperwork signed and threatened multiple times to leave without completing the delivery. My father made a number of attempts to reach someone within the company to address these concerns. They refused to return his phone calls. This business practice is atrocious. DO NOT use this company for your moving needs whatsoever. DO NOT use a broker. Use an asset based trucking company ONLY. I have a handful of very high ranking contacts within the industry that I have recently reached out to regarding this matter. We will NOT allow this to be pushed under the rug. We have also filed a complaint with the Federal DOT as well as the BBB. These people are criminals and do NOT care about the customer in any capacity. In the thousands of trucking companies I have dealt with over the course of 15 plus years I have never witnessed such disgusting business practices. They need to be shutdown, Period.

  5. Broken Furniture/Dishes/Pictures/etc.; Stolen Property; Violated Me.

Trans United is affiliated with Safeway Moving Systems, and both companies are the absolute **WORST** moving companies I have ever experienced.

Eric Scott, of Safeway Moving System, was the face of the interaction; however, he had several accomplices, one of whom was Danny Melendez. Melendez is apparently is the President of a DM Mover company, but they all seem to have their names and the names of their associates as “Presidents” across multiple companies. This is likely how they operate their criminal enterprise of stealing money and property from hardworking, honest citizens. How do they sleep at night? I hope they enjoy the rocking chair they stole, my boxes, and my graduate certificates. Mr. Scott actively avoided his professional responsibilities when I tried to reach him. He passed work to an assistant, Delilah, who also is the ‘President’ of some moving companies in FL. It’s a sick and twisted scheme they are running.

Mr. Scott, Mr. Melendez, and Jason from Hallandale, FL, and their crew of thieves, charged me over $8,000 cash for a move that was initially quoted for half that. I am sharing these names because they are of public record, and I can prove it, and I want the public to know what they are getting themselves into by entering in a contract with crooked salesman. Ultimately, it was demanded that I WIRE TRANSFER $4,000 to them before delivery. After I did, they couldn't even call me to notify they have received the payment, which is the one request I made. There was no follow-through, which was really upsetting.

On moving day, I come to find out the initial movers (Danny Melendez and his crew) stole my rocking chair, broke several pieces of furniture (to an non-replaceable state), lost/stole more boxes with personal/household items, and concocted numerous lies about alleged delivery attempts made, yet I had no prior notification, but they still charged me for redelivery, storage, etc. I have cell phone records to prove this!

I was cursed out by multiple employees, a man with Trans United in Florida and a driver from CA. Danny Melendez and another man named Jason are affiliated with these scammers.

These reviews are being reported not because they are personal in nature, but because they expose the wrongdoing of this corrupt company that must be held accountable. I guarantee that if we, as customers, received the services that we initially signed up/paid for, I would not be sitting here writing this.

    E. Scott knows and partakes in the deleterious ways these moving companies scam millions, and neither he, nor his staff, care that people are being hurt and placed under unnecessary strife. By depriving us of our hard-earned belongings, our money, and our trust in moving companies, you have violated the trust of millions.

What precautions should be taken before customers allow complete strangers to view and make note of everything that we value, everything that we own, thrown it in a truck, and drive away to who knows where? Do we call ICE? FBI? I know who I'm contacting, and this isn't a threat. I'm a federal employee, and I would never recommend any state or government agency ever again.

I had to retain legal representation in order to get my belongings, which they kept from me for nearly 3 months, intentionally. I was forced to sleep on the floor, and one person from FL screamed at me and asked how it felt to know that Eric Scott was intentionally ignoring my calls/emails, then he laughed at me. Appalling customer service, and unprofessional behavior.

Further action is being taken, as these people are dishonest, manipulative, and thieves. I am also not the only victim.

SERVICE MEMBERS, FEDERAL & STATE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES, ETC. PLEASE AVOID.

  6. Don't Use This Company.

This is not an exaggeration. I would have been better off to load my items of sentimental value in my own car to transport, then taken all of my furniture and household items to the driveway and set it on fire rather than to let this company move me. With the money I would have saved by not hiring them, I could have replaced the items at my new location. I'll explain.
We were planning a move from Colorado to Montana, a move of 1000 miles. We had a large home in Colorado (3900 sq. ft.) so we were expecting a somewhat expensive move. Our new home in Montana is located up the side of a mountain about 6 tenths of a mile off the pavement. There are a couple of switchbacks that I explained to the original contact at Trans United where a 53' moving van would NOT be able to negotiate. No Problem I was told, they would just use 26' trucks for the move. I originally had Two Men and a Truck come by and look at the home in Colorado to give me an estimate. Their estimate was around $28K. I knew it would be high because we were moving a lot of stuff, but I thought that might be a little too high, so I continued to look around. When I called Trans United, I mentioned to them that I had an inventory list that Two Men and a Truck wrote up and that I was reading off the items from that list. The Trans United rep asked me to email the list to him. I thought that might be a bit unethical (and told him so) but the Trans United Rep said they do that all the time. I'm going to try to make the rest of this short because my heart starts skipping beats when I dwell on this. The original bid from Trans United came in at $15,500. I was told that Trans United employees would do the work, no subcontractors. Then, right after we closed on the house in Montana and are expecting the 26' vans to show up, a 53' semi trailer and a 26' Ryder truck shows up..Not a Trans United van, but a Wal-Mart / Sam's Club trailer that has been whitewashed, but the lettering can still be seen. I call Trans United to find out what is going on, but I can't talk to the original rep from this point..he's out of it from here on. The new guy told me that it would be much less expensive to transport in the big trailer and they would "shuttle" my stuff up the hill. That would only add $7000 to the bill. In addition, after they looked at the house, the on site rep (Avi) had determined that there was MUCH more than the original inventory to be moved. 3000 cubic feet worth. They boxed some stuff for me too, in boxes that had been used before..so at the new home I ended up with boxes marked "Kitchen" in the new home that actually contained garage items in them. There was NO inventory list made for the items that actually went on the truck. I was told that the truck would be sealed and that I would remove the seal at the new location. Didn't happen. Remember the first Ryder truck that showed up with the van on the first day? We never saw that truck again. It was about 1/3 loaded when the driver left with it that night. We expected it to be back the next morning, but a different Ryder truck (empty) showed up. When we asked, we were told that that stuff would be transferred onto the van before the move..So much for the sealed van. Every person associated with Trans United lied to me. Then, to add insult to injury, the company they subcontracted (HQ Moving) to "shuttle" my items up the hill in Montana, backed over and totally destroyed my electric meter that supplied electricity to the house. Our first night in our new home was spent totally without power. HQ still hasn't paid for that. Oh yes, remember that original quote for the move at $15,500? It cost $60,000, and that does not count for any of the items that were damaged, destroyed, or were in the first truck that never was seen again. STAY AWAY!!

  7. Beware.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FRAUD! They took my ACH deposit and never performed service! Contacted "claims dept." what a joke.

  8. Dont do it!!

To give you an short history they pick up everything on July 29. On June I make the contract and they said about everything I have will be 1,335. If I let them know everything I have. Then when they pick up my stuff on July 29 they said will be about 4,000!! ??wth! They know I take the plain that day! They never wrap it with blankets. Know I still have 16 boxes left a coffee table and a make up chair. My clothe is there and they don’t care!! The winter is coming and is horrible! I receive yes the queen bed cost me 1,300 (Sofia Vergara) destroys!! I have pictures!! Came the dinning chairs (because they leave the dinning table in Florida) guess what? Destroid!! ? the bar chairs? Destroid!! They don’t care about anything only the money. I do have pictures of you want to see it by your self. I spoke first with mike and he quit! Then Anthony, Jason, and Jessica they hang up the phone they said I will receive it in a week is been sense July!! Now is November and josh tell me that if I want it I have to flight to Florida and pick it up by myself! That’s why I make a contract if I know this will happend I will canceled that’s the this of trust! If you want to see more pictures send me a text or call anythime! This have to stop!! 210-847-8054. My name is Zuly. Anything you will need to know I will show you. I do have the contract and now I don’t care to show to anyone because maybe I don’t see my stuff anymore but I will not stay quiet about this m. This have to end!!

  9. Delay Delay No Driver.

Anthony, Chris, Jason, Jessica are not who they say they are.
I have not received my property. Pick up in Jacksonville, FL and delivery in Oregon.
They recognize my phone number and do not answer. When I call on another phone, they answer.

  10. Not worth the headache.

I recently had some family furniture moved from FL to MA. My initial conversation with this company went great! They gave me a great 'do not exceed' estimate compared to some other options I looked at, and had an overall trustworthy and secure sound to them. However, the headache and frustration was not worth the discount. Whoever is coordinating their sales/driver/dispatch operations is a mess. No one knows anything, so how are they estimating?!

    1. My initial 'do not exceed' estimate of $1392, ended up costing $2265+tip (this is after some negotiating for further discounts). They claimed I exceeded the reserved truck space, and remembered a mandatory 'shuttle' due to the size of my street. None of this was explained or even mentioned by Josh (in Sales) when I booked. Even though I provided them with descriptions of the items being moved, and the address for the delivery.

    2. Half of my furniture, wood, was delivered with some noticeable scratches. Nothing that is the end of the world, but definitely makes a nice wooden piece, less nice. A glass top of a custom-made wooden table is getting thrown away, because the glass top was delivered with a chip on the corner, which began to spread.

    3. After pickup, finance got in touch with me to process the pick up fee. I assumed they will send me a link to a secure portal to enter my payment information, like they did for the initial deposit. I was told that was not an option, and that I needed to write a personal check made out to them in MA, take a picture of it, and text it to them. Since I'm in MA and not in FL, I ended up having my mom write a personal check to them, and paid her back, because that was my only other option. For final delivery payment, they insisted on cash or money order from USPS. They have a company policy against CASHIER's or PERSONAL checks.

If you still want to use these guys, make sure you clarify the cubic footage of the space your estimate covers and definitely ask upfront about additional charges for destination street size. Also, have lots of patience.

  11. TransUnited Van Lines Movers.

It's been 3 weeks since they picked up my items in Charlotte and still have not delivered. Its a process they say, but that was not the commitment when they convinced me to use their service vs other movers. Unresponsive to calls every day, and when they finally answer the phone, they don't have an answer as to when exactly they will deliver. It will be this week, now it will be next week.
So upset. Have to go buy clothes for interviews in the new city and they don't care at all.

  12. Buyer Beware!

Still trying to get answers with no calls being returned, Went with this company due to reviews and price,,,don’t believe them! Let’s begin with pickup which was to be between 10-12 on Monday 9/24 got a call it would be between 1-3, then a call it would between 4-6: then a call it would be between 9-10,then a call at 10 that they were 45 mins away, showed at 11:30. Loaded the belongings very well but then hit us with a bill that was DOUBLE the very detailed quote! It gets better.. was told and paperwork states delivery to Colorado Springs on 9/29 but is now 10/1 and the guy in customer service says his paperwork says it’s in Georgia? Our rep (Josh) doesn’t return calls.

  13. Stress Free Move!

I had to make a move across country on short notice. Everyone knows moving can be one of the most stressful things to go through.

I contacted several companies and the prices were beginning to scare me away. I was about to sell most of my stuff and get a uhaul for the rest but I contacted Trans United and Anthony did a great job of setting up my move. I was quoted $3500 and that was several hundred less than others quoted me and that is what I was charged.

The movers showed up on time and were very professional. I was impressed with the care they took with everything. They arrived on time at the destination as well and took great care not to damage anything in my new home. I would definitely use them again but really I'm tired of moving and hope I don't have to.

  14. This company is Awesome.

I had to move to another city and this company did a wonderful job moving me. Jessica did a wonderful job setting me up for my move. I don't know what I would have done without her. It only cost me about $2500 and was a bargain at that price,,I checked other companies and they wanted a lot more than Trans United charged me. Thank you again Trans United for the good service!! Hope I never have to move again,,but if I do,,I will use this company again!!

  15. Anthony was amazing.

I was being relocated for my job to Orlando FL. Trying to do the whole transition for kids to new schools, change or address to new location and other stuff. I was glad Trans United was able to make the actual moving of my stuff one less headache.

My wife and I have 4 kids and they know how to spread stuff all over the house. Anthony was great. He was understanding about everything and really put our mind's at ease.

When it was time to move, I made it to Orlando with the family and our stuff was delivered on time. The proper items where placed where we wanted them. The $3500 was worth every penny.
