Stay away. Called the police because they ransomed our belongings.
I would like to warn people about ASR movers.
We hired them to move our one bedroom apartment, and they arrived an hour and a half late. The original two men were pretty good but one of them got an injury less than an hour into working. They were replaced by two others, with the four outside laughing and goofing off for about ten minutes before the new ones started working.
These two replacements were slow, inept, sloppy, had little regard for our stuff, and complained repeatedly. I was quoted $360 for 3 hours of work and an extra $80 each hour afterward. It took them almost three hours to load less than a one bedroom apartment of stuff into the truck with me helping them and somehow being faster than they were, and they claimed that they needed to do two loads with a twenty footer for the job. (Their boss now says they had an 18.) Upon arriving to the new apartment, they ransomed our belongings demanding 2 hours of pay in advance before they would unload. They stood around by their truck waiting for over a half an hour as we were sent borrowed money we did not have, attempting to inflate our costs with 'stair fees'. They then later tried to ransom us for another hours pay, including the half an hour they did nothing, because they went back and spent half an hour slowly and lazily chucking more of our stuff into their truck while complaining the whole time. This time it was all minor things, other than an ottoman and chair. The workers response to complaints or us refusing to pay yet more money for their ineptitude was 'call the company', while they stood around.
Calling the boss gets you insulted, told your 'making excuses' or 'playing tricks', and hung up on. Extremely unprofessional. He doesn't care if they are bad and slow at their job because it means more money for them.
If my fiancee and I hadn't done half the work it would have taken hours more. I was bouncing back and forth on buses to go between the two apartments and ensure they actually did work and to help them. Went back to the apartment for the pointless second load to find them sitting in their truck, waiting for me to get there to start working. I was consistently faster than these supposed 'professional movers', and my fiancee had to bring all of the items in from the front of the doorway because they refused to actually bring them into the new apartment. They brought in the mattress and boxspring, and complained when she demanded they bring in our hutch.
We had to call the police on them for ransoming our belongings a second time, refusing to give them back or unload them onto the curb unless we paid for more slow inept work. The police forced them to put our belongings on the curb as we had initially requested. It would have taken them at least another hour to empty the truck at their original pace if the cops were not watching them.
My fiancee and I along with a friend moved the same belongings from one apartment to another with a Uhaul truck in less than 5 hours in a freak March 1st snow storm. It was certainly hot that day, but that doesn't warrant their behaviour or demanding more money for completely unacceptable work.
A bunch of con artists, I should have read reviews. They have a terrible reputation and seem to artificially inflate their rating by posting positive reviews themselves. The only positive reviews on their Facebook page seem to be from their own employees, one of which was here doing an awful job of our move.
Incredibly sketchy company.
Avoid ASR movers at all costs.

I had advised ASR Movers by email that I had a piano that needed to be moved. ASR Movers sent 2 VERY INEXPERIENCED movers without proper equipment. My quoted price was $295 for 3 hours (including travel time) and it took the 2 movers 1 hour just to move my piano. After that, they moved my boxes one by one to their truck. In the end I was charged 2 extra hours for $75 each hour and they refused to offload my items until I paid. THEY PURPOSELY WORKED AT A SLOW PACE JUST TO EARN MORE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
