  1. Horrible moving company

I was told they did not use contract trucks and had their own movers, but we got a contract trucker who hired inexperienced movers from Craigslist. They did extensive damage to the house we were moving from, literally dumped the contents of our cupboards into boxes as part of "professional packing service", did major damage to my baby grand piano (looks like they dumped it on its keys), did major damage to other large pieces of furniture (including breaking a lamp, ripping the leg off a table and cracking the base of our dining room table). My moving agent basically disappeared once the movers were coming. It was almost impossible to get through to speak to supervisors. The move estimate was way low jumping about $4000 to the final invoice.

  2. Reimbursement

Has anyone gotten any money from this company. I went through all the steps with their arbitration company and they eventually told me they no longer associate with this bunch of cowardly crooks. Any help would be appreciated

  3. Deceptive practices

Problems began from the very beginning. The estimate was low balled and the pick up date was moved several times and we were told that the days were within the “window” when the movers finally arrived, the driver had alcohol on his breath and vomited on my dining room table as we were going over paper work. He said that he had eaten something that disagreed with him, and promptly went and slept in the truck for 2-3 hours. This was witnessed by the realtor and some friends who had stopped by to see how the move was going. This left 1 person to do the packing while the other one slept it off. A third person showed up and all three resumed packing. The one that was left to pack alone spent a considerable amount of time talking to a woman on the phone while he was”working” keep in mind I was asked to make 3 payments before the move was completed. The 3 payments were close to what the estimate was. When they completed the packing( 2 A.M. Easter Morning) I asked the driver when would my things arrive. I was told by the sixth. Consistent with all of the other misinformation, they arrived on the 10th of April. When they finally arrived(late I might add) I received a phone call from the company and was told that I had to pay another $6247 before the truck would be unloaded. This is extortion plain and simple. I had no choice I paid up and they unloaded the truck. I called on Monday morning to get an explanation as to why I had paid twice the estimate. After being put on hold , he finally came back an mumbled something about the weight. He assured me that a “supervisor” would call me to discuss my concern. Of course, the call never came. We are Seniors and I am an amputee, so you can imagine the distress associated with this horrendous move. Anyone considering using this company had better think twice.

  4. DO NOT USE

This company left my son high and dry in Cape Cod. On The day of the move, the movers decided they could not move his belongings to Florida. He had one small spot of mold on his bedframe! My son wiped off the one spot with bleach and told them to take the rest of his belongings and he would take the one piece of bedframe and move it in his truck. They told him they would not move any of his belongings. He was told they had to "hit the road" to Florida and left. My son was in the liquor store about an hour later and who do you think was in front of him with a case of beer and other assorted liquors! Guess the movers were planning to party on the way to Florida! This company is horrible. Please, please, please do not use them.

  5. DO NOT USE

I saw an ad for Two Movers on Facebook and received a call from several moving companies. Colonial was one of them and they had the best price. Was moving from Maine to FL. I foolishly though that Two Movers vetted the companies they recommended so I did not do my own research, but obviously not. I was quoted a total price of $1900 and gave a deposit of $557 and was told I would receive a call the day before move day to set a firm time. By 5 pm I had not gotten a call. The customer service line NEVER answers. I finally was told (at 7 pm) someone would come the following day between 2 and 5. By 4:30, I had heard nothing and started calling and calling and calling. I was told there was a delay and someone would be there between 8 am and 10 am the next day. By 11 I had heard nothing. By this time I had done my own research and discovered I made a huge mistake. They said there was another delay and they were coming between 3 and 6. By this time I had no faith they would come. I asked who they brokered the job to and they wouldn’t tell me. I canceled. I immediately called my bank and told them the situation and thank God they were on my side and refunded the deposit. I, just this week, was notified the refund was permanent and the bank flagged the charge as fraudulent. This company is a broker. They make a quote hoping they can find a mover to do it for that price. That’s why there are always delays and price increases. They are HORRIBLE!!!

  6. Beware of Colonial Moving & Nabout Family-crooks.

We were quoted by colonial moving company at $6900 total from Tennessee to AZ at a 3500 house minis two bedrooms. The lady took the inventory based on what was pictured on realtor. Com and we prepared a detail inventory list to make sure nothing was incorrect.

1 day before the move received a call confirmed inventory but was told it is was incorrectly quoted. Went from 7k to 20k then back down to $9k. The day that the movers showed up, the subcontractor, the nabout family, wanted to say that piana was not on list, which I showed and wanted to charge me 30k. Tried calling Colonial no response. We negotiated to 14k. Then he wanted my wife to write a personal check for 1k for thr piano at the last min which she paid. Then on delivery they say it coudnt be delivered based on the terrain and they wanted to charge an extra 2600 to load all into two bob trucks to deliver because the semi was too large (80ft). Upon delivery almost every item was cracked, chipped or broke. For what it cost to move I could have purchased all new furniture. Do not use these crooks Both colonial or their sub Nabout. They are terrorist and hold your furniture hostage. All members of the nabout are arab and have no regard for you or your personal belongings. They should be investigated and shut down! Absolute crooks!! Beware!! look for a local moving company or sell everything and buy new when you move. Worst experience that we have had in our lifetime! You are probably funding terrorist by using them, seriously!

  7. Re:Client Vasquez

On september 28th, our things were picked up in Clayton, Ca and scheduled to be delivered in Webbville, Ky.

First of all, 2 days before our move our quote went up by $12000 via colonial.

2nd of all, if you will check you "pre recorded" calls with us, you will find that I was told to make out a cashiers check for $5399.41 to Colonial. Please check and see for yourselves.

We were unaware that our things were being picked up by a 2nd company, who accepted our check when they picked up our belongings. (Cal state)

Eight days later, they call us and tell us they will not move our things from the warehouse they are in, in SOUTHERN CA (thats not even TOWARDS Kentucky mind you) until we send them the $5399.41. EIGHT DAYS LATER! Cal state said, because the cashiers check is made out to colonial and not them they cannot cash it.

I was did exactly as I was told by colonial. Well the check gets mailed back to us by cal state. Our bank is in California. So we pay $50 to overnight the cashiers check to our bank in california.

We were told to Zelle this 2nd company (cal state) that colonial hired, the $5399.41. Why are we suddenly being expected to fix your mistake?

Zelle has a monthly limit of $5000. And a weekly limit of $2500. We cannot Zelle. And a wire transfer has to be done in person. We are in Kentucky, our bank is in Cali. We cannot wire the money.

What we can do is what weve already done and was told to do by colonial. Which was get a cashiers check. Bank of the west is not in Kentucky and we are not able to open a new bank account until we get our important files from our belongings, which you are now holding hostage.

I have run out of medicine and spent money on that, we have bought things we needed for daily living because everything we own is in Southern California by no fault or mistake of our own.

The pain and suffering and stress we are going through is substantial. Not to mention the string of lies weve been told by your very unprofessional representatives. One of whom impersonated a manager. Please check the phone calls that you record. Its all there. You will see there are NO LIES on our end.

Legally, you are quickly approaching the 21 day time frame to have our belongings here with us.

We talked to Tammy, a manager over technical service and she is aware of our situation and promised to get our things to us asap.

This issue with payment is not OUR issue. It is a Colonial and cal state issue that needs to be resolved between the company you hired and your staff.

Because you have all made it our problem, we will expect quite a bit of compensation for this breach of professionalism as well as you committing something called "fraud in inducement" by changing our quote by $12000 because of a clerical error on your employees end. (We went through item by item with your employee Sanah, later we got rid of several large furniture items, and added a few boxes. Which would not equal a $12000 leap. We were told Sanah put the wrong size truck down on our original estimate. Again not our problem or mistake)

Please review all phone calls, e mails and records because you will be handing them over to us to give to a lawyer.

It is in your best interest to end this fiasco and get our things to us asap, and find another way to make paying possible, as youve already allowed so much chaos into our lives.

Someone who has some real authority over this business needs to call us.

  8. Scam Rip Off.

WARNING. Had to wait 2 days for them to show up. They kept lying about the pickup time. They kept saying we will be there in an hour and a half multiple times till 2 days went by. Then when they finally arrived they almost doubled the price from $2400 to $4150. I could buy all new furniture for that, So I cancelled, but had to pay over $700 to get my stuff back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. RIP OFF.

  9. Horrible experience.

Don’t be stupid like me and go with this company. It would be a miracle if I don’t get a divorce and lose my job over this. They are a broker even though they assured me they weren’t. That’s why I somewhat went with them. I told them specifically to multiple people that I had a heavy toolbox that needed to be loaded with a truck with a hydraulic lift. Guess what showed up at my driveway a day late. A uhaul with 2 guys from Craigslist and a driver and no lift. I even had to pick one of the guys up because he couldn’t get an Uber. To make a long story short, it’s been almost a month, where’s my stuff. Does anyone know? Try calling customer service, “we will find out and call you back” yeah right. I am a mechanic and all my tools are on that truck, what do you think my new boss thinks let alone my wife. And I didn’t mention my estimate doubled, and they broke my stairs without telling me when they were moving our furniture. I can almost hear them laughing. I don’t deserve this, no one does. There will be a way to resolve this, as this is a living nightmare I’m not going to forget easily.

  10. Scammers.

They don’t even deserve 1 Star, but I can’t post this without giving them a star rating.

They misquote you over the phone and then when you give a deposit and decide to cancel, they will NOT release your deposit even though the contract says it is refundable. I cancelled MONTHS before my move!! DO NOT USE THEM!! You will regret it.

  11. From $1700 to $4070.

Initial quote at $1700, they said 'not even half of the 300 cft' were taken. This is the reason I chose them vs other companies who were asking for more. No on-premise visit, no video were asked for the estimation.

A first deposit of around $700 was paid to secure the move. No time of arrival was given at this time. They said they were a carrier, not a broker, and that the move would take 7 to 10 days.

5 days before the move, an updated inventory was made, bringing me this time to $3000. Still no pick up time estimate provided. A second deposit of around $600 had to be made to complete the first one. This surcharge was charged twice on my bank account.

The day before the move, I was informed that the pick up truck would come between 9am and 11am.

On the pick up day, I did not receive any information before 12:30pm, when the driver called me to say he was late. They arrived at 2pm, in a Budget truck (not a branded one).

On arrival, they said we had to pay more than $600 more than what was agreed upon, to account for additional spaced and packaging, bringing my total to $3620. Apart from that, pickup was ok, the 2 guys were ok, and I tipped them for the service. At this point, no estimated arrival date was provided.

I was able to pay the pick up fee ($1150, same due upon delivery) by card, but found out about the double charge, so I disputed it and waited for it to be reaccredited to my account before paying the pick up fee. My belongings did not move before I paid, which took multiple days. Colonial was impossible to get ahold on the phone, I had to go through their carrier and mention the Better Business Bureau to get a quick answer, as well as a refund.

I was not able to get an update on my belongings arrival before only 5 days before the date, which was 12 days after the pick up date. And even then, I only knew that 'my stuff was on the move', with no estimation whatsoever of the time it would take to arrive at destination. I thus had to be in an empty apartment for more than a week, just in case.

2 days before the delivery date, the driver called me to say there would be an additional fee for using a different truck to deliver my belongings, which I had no way of anticipating. The fee was $450.

The delivery was on time and went well, the guys knew what they were doing. My belongings were globally ok, with a few things broken, and minor damage (broken plates, dents, ..).

Total charge: $4070 (+139% of the agreed upon price initially).

Overall, this was a very stressful, time consuming, and expensive experience that I do not wish to anyone. There were 4 different companies involved in this move, that I still to this day don't know to what extent they were involved:

    - COLONIAL MOVING & STORAGE LLC (Broker and scammer)

    - Dimbas LLC (pick-up guys, and intermediates for the next steps)

    - CalState Moving & Storage (dispatch?)

    - IGN Global Inc. (actual carrier)

All were quite hard to contact, and the responsibilities were not made clear from the start, which added to the general confusion and scam-impression.

  12. Complete scam of a company.

We paid our deposit of over $900 for a move from California to Ohio. The first representative, Eric, quickly went through our inventory list upon initial scheduling. 2 days before our pick up, another rep called us to go over a more detailed inventory list. Which made our quote go up another $4,000+. He was very pushy and rude to get us to pay the remaining deposit amount for the new amount. After trying to cancel, the ‘manager’ (Mike/Mark) called and begged us not to cancel. He told us he would keep our original quote and give us the extra room on the truck to accommodate our belongings. I was hesitant but he promised it would all work out. The night before our scheduled move, they called to reschedule. The new moving day comes and they didn’t show up. No one called us. We ended up getting ahold of someone, who was very rude, and put us in contact with the driver of the truck that would be coming to us. We were told by him that they were hours away from us on another job and wouldn’t be to us until at least 6pm or later. Then told by him that this company was shady and it would be in our best interest if we just canceled because they wouldn’t make it out there and that Colonial wouldn’t send anyone else. We called Mike/Mark back told him we wanted to cancel. He, again, begged us not to cancel our moved and he would make sure someone was out there the very next day or the following day. We agreed. The next day came and no one shows up again. We had already canceled & rebooked flights by this point, only to cancel them again. We called Mike/Mark again and told him we were done and demanded our deposit back. He begged and begged us not to cancel, not to turn them in to the BBB, and that he would make sure someone was out to pick up our stuff the following day or he’d double our deposit refund ( way too good to be true). We didn’t fall for it and still demanded our refund back. He ended up hanging up on us. The following Monday, a representative called to see how our move went. She had no record that we canceled, no record that no one ever showed up. She told us she would look in to getting our refund to us. Nothing.

We called and no one would answer. We finally got ahold of someone after a month of trying, only to be sent to voicemail and not have a call back. We have sent emails as well, only to be ignored.

I wouldn’t even give this company a 1 star rating. Beware of this company! It’s a shame they do this to people, especially during a pandemic, and even more so to military families like mine.

  13. Moving review.

Please do not use this service!! I have been waiting on my furniture for over 21 days!! Horrible experience. I have an appointment with an attorney in the morning. I will not stop until this business is shut down!! Moving is a very stressful time and to add worrying about your belongings even making it to you not to mention the price change and overcharge fees are all overwhelming. It’s just no reason for a company to be this unethical!! In uncertain times like these please don’t add this fraudulent company to your list of worry because I promise it will take over every thing else. I am so embarrassed, overwhelmed, emotionally distraught over this situation. Did I mention financially strapped. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

  14. Living in Hell! do Not Book!

WARNING!! DO NOT BOOK!! YOU STILL SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO NEVER SEE YOUR STUFF AGAIN!! ONE MONTH OF HELL!! so we made the first police report where we lived because we had a really good feeling this was going to happened. Then we made another one in the town we moved to. So we have two police reports out on them. We have contacted the BBB, and FBI, and trying to find a good lawyers. Each week they have come up with a new lie as to why the truck is now here. First week was because they wanted more money (even though that wasn't in the contract), next week was the truck broke down, the next was they mixed our stuff up with someone else. We know we aren't going to get our stuff back but now we need to sue them because how else are we going to buy all new stuff. Everything is GONE! We have been sleeping on an air matters for 4 weeks now and both our backs are messed up. I'm so stressed out I'm making myself sick. I have never in my life been through this and I truly hope no one else will. The moving company actually send another customer contact info to my husband, so he called that person right away and WARNED them not to us this company. the moving company was in the middle of loading her items and she had them stop. At least we have helped one person so far. I will fight to end this moving company.

  15. I just want to know if I will ever see my belongings again?!?!

Yep- I was fooled by their amazing quote and documents they sent me on day 1.. but boy are they anything but amazing! yes they underquoted me but I also added a few more things. They only take venmo and certified checks so that nothing can be disputed. They blocked me. I downloaded a burner number - which they answered. My belongings were picked up by a father/15 yr old daughter duo. The father smoked on my non-smoking property- which I was fined $250 for - but was able to dispute it- and they did not practice any safe practices. THank goodness I never got sick from them. Fast forward 33 days and my items are sitting somewhere in texas.. (They left Florida on July 17 en route to Phoenix, AZ.).That is all I know! I have re-read and re - read the contract over and over again. They will not be charging me anymore than what is owed on my statement balance. I will move the items myself if they try to charge me more! I was the foolish one who didn't do the research in the beginning- I only liked what I initially heard. Do yourself a favor and please don't pull a Kelly and choose to use this company!!
