Professional, quick, friendly service from the first inquiry through the end of move day. The crew was efficient, professional, knowledgeable and just nice. Customer service was professional as well as informative. Overall a wonderful experience.

  2. Terrible experience!

We were not happy with the service through ez movers. We moved a 1 bedroom apartment with a bed, 1 dresser, and a few pieces of small furniture and about 35 medium sized boxes. When the driver arrived he augmented the quote by over 50% of the original price. I had called the office to have the quote explained to me with no response for close to a week after they loaded our belongings. The driver was pushy, in a hurry and not careful with our belongings. He was in such a hurry to have me sign the paperwork and didn't explain it after increasing the price- he pressured me to sign, and foolishly, I did so. When I mentioned I needed to call the office to verify the amount and costs, he became defensive and upset, not helpful. I asked to see the space used in the truck after they had packed it (to be certain I wasn't being ripped off) and they had conveniently closed it and locked it.

The entire job took 2 hours at most of actually moving the belongings. Furthermore, apparently there "long walk" fee if the load or unload is more than a 75 ft walk. I was not forewarned about this. He mentioned that he would waive the fee if I helped carry some of the items out. Myself and the helper mover carried everything- yes, I actually moved my own stuff to avoid being charged $200 extra. I have called the customer service line, and they never called me back, and after 3 calls replied with an email. The company seems to use the tactic of a low price on paper (do not get swindled by the $899 quote!) but increases it upon arrival- have others had this experience too? As I write this review, we still do not have our belongings. It has been 10 days since it was picked up.

Spare yourself a nightmare moving experience. They did not hold up I their mission statement whatsoever, or seem concerned about making our moving experience a positive one. If I could review with less than one star, I would. I do not recommend this company. In the future I will not use this company.

  3. Unprofessional - Scam - Don't do business with!

DON'T do business with this company. They quoted us a price in writing and then when the guys showed up they charged us an additional $80 to "Carefully" package the items or just have them thrown on the back of the truck at our own risk. We purchased the insurance and when the items to to SC they had broken the dinning table leg. I filed a claim and was told they won't do a thing about it. Prove the did it. I have pictures for when the items left and when they go there. I filed a BBB claim and attorney General claim. This company has not replied to my repeated request for the $200 it will cost to fix the table. If you want the price to change and your items broken then use them. They SUCK! And are rude.

  4. Stay away from EZ Movers.

I don't even know where to start. If you care about your time and money, don't trust EZ Movers. Unfortunately, I found the online reviews after I signed the contract with them. I called the EZ Movers representative (Daniel) and I told him about my concerns regarding the reviews. I told him that I was short in money for the move and that I could not afford big changes in price, as the reviews were pointing out. I asked him for a home estimate. The representative told me that they don't offer this service, but he calmed me down saying that I had a small move and that if the inventory were accurate, I wouldn't have any problems. From our conversation, he convinced me to keep the contract. He was very persuasive and assured me that later I could do any adjustments I needed in my inventory. I moved from Minneapolis, mn to Denver, co. I had, in the quote done over phone, 39 items included in my inventory. I had in my inventory 2 full beds. Later, I realized I had 2 queen beds instead of 2 full beds. I called EZ Movers office before the moving date and daniel informed me that this change would add around 100 dollars to the price I received in my quote ($1301, 44). When the movers arrived, I had fewer items than were registered on my quote: I had 16 boxes instead of 20, I had only 1 bookshelf instead of 2, I had 33 total items in my actual move. The driver told me that, even with the less stuff I had, the price would only remain the same in case I would only take 1 queen mattress instead of 2. When I argued with him saying that the EZ Movers representative gave me a different price, that’s what he said: “well, it is very easy for them to be in the office giving quotes. I’m the one who comes and sees the things. If I take items that exceed the volume in the quote, I will have to pay for that in our warehouse when we transfer your stuff from one truck to the other and I won’t take that risk”. I felt hopeless, betrayed, and abused by EZ Movers at that point. The representative assured me over the phone that I could made adjustments on site, but the driver didn’t give me that option. Long story short, the driver agreed to keep the price in the original quote from daniel in case I would leave some stuff out, including one queen mattress (I left behind one microwave, one night stand, one black cube, one bookshelf, 2 folding chairs, and I had only 16 boxes instead of the 20 I had in my inventory. I asked the driver to calculate how much it would cost me to bring the second mattress (even though it should be just a matter of adjusting the size/price of it in the inventory) and he gave me a price over $400 to bring the mattress. I could not afford to pay this extra amount of money, and therefore, I left the mattress behind, too. I filled a claim after my move and they told me that I would receive an answer in 30 days. They did not contact me. I called them a week after the deadline they gave me. The solution? They did not adjust the price I paid and said that the claim was solved even though I did not receive any communication from them! They didn't acknowledge any of my complaints and suggested me to look for a lawyer to further discuss my "Issues". Please believe me, I never wrote a review before, but I feel so abused right now that I thought I could help others to do not make the same mistake I did. Please, for your own sake, do not trust EZ Movers!

  5. The moving crew was fantastic.

The moving crew was fantastic, as were the people I spoke to on the phone. My move was very relaxed and pleasant thanks to the exceptional work that E-Z Movers team performed. Originally I chose E-Z Movers because they gave me good price, the lowest I could possible find ($470 vs. $600 that other companies offered me). I would definitely use E-Z Movers again and recommend their services to my friends.

  6. Do Not Use!

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Moved from Illinois on 7/15/13. Truck arrived in South Carolina on 7/22/13. My box of china, which I had packed carefully with bubble wrap between the plates and all else (and was a brand new box), had TUMBLED DOWN OFF MY STACK OF BELONGINGS to an empty part of the truck. Dishes were smashed and some even hanging out the bottom of the box. I only asked for $200 back to replace some china, and EVEN WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE they refused.Again, I repeat, DO NOT USE E-Z MOVERS, you WILL regret it.

  7. The Move Was Fine.

Overall, the move was fine. We got our things from point A to point B with no damage. The moving crew was very hard working and did a great job. I also appreciate the help of my sales representative who had been very helpful and responsive to my requests throughout the move. Great job on this! I would definitely recommend E-Z Movers and use them again. The only suggestion I have is do request a visual estimate. Otherwise, they will underestimate the work.

  8. Can't even gice them a star- but had to to post review.

DON'T USE THEM,  BUYER BEWARE,  were quoted a price of around $1600 ended up paying close to $3000.  our stuff that they PACKED was destroyed,  STuff we packed not damages,  just the outside of the boxes.  They destroyed of furniture,  large cracks and chips. me things are unusable.  we were basically threatened to pay more money upon pick up "we have your stuff" so you have to pay and sign.  per person who picked up "they were in jail" and now working for them - NICE real nice.  makes me feel safe being told that after they have loaded my belongings and then told we have your stuff so you have to pay.  I will never use them and you shouldn't either.  We haven't been reimbursed and now have to get an attorney to fight with them over the extra charges.  the distance from our apt to the curb is exactly 130 feet yet they charged us for 230 feet and were told to pay.  "We HAVE YOUR THINGS"  had to pay.  then when we called were told the long haul stands, they have pictures,  yeah wonder where they took the pics at.  since I had someone go measure just today to find the exact distance.  what a crock.  now im out the extra moving expense but damage stuff that I can't use and have to replace which will cost me another $1500 to $2000.00.  What a DISHONEST and SCAMMING COMPANY,  I can't believe Susan Komen foundation even wants to be associated with them.  I will never give hem my money just for being associated with such CROOKS.  next time I will use united or mayflower.

  9. Worse move ever!

Worse moving experience ever, I never post on Yelp but I don't want someone else to go through what I did. THIS IS A WARNING! I was quoted $600-800 and ended up paying nearly  $2,000! Let's just start with saying they are more expensive then any competitor at about $115 an hour.  I called to get my quote and I was told it would be about $300-400 to move everything. I was more then ok with that and even if it went up to $500 I would have been to. I was also told you get charged hourly which again makes sense but when the movers come they quote you how many hours they think it will take and inform you it may be more then what they think it will take. I was told the movers would arrive between 12-2pm and they arrived at 2:35 pm. They walk in and quote me 7 hours for the job and it would come out to about $750. I was in shocked but had no choice but to continue and sign whatever they quoted me. I asked if we could just start and stop the clock and see how long it would take us but he said they don't charge hourly? and he also informed me that it may as well take longer and it would be more expensive if it did, which contradicts them not charging hourly!?So in order for me not to pay more the what was quoted, the obvious thing to do is to help the movers move things since I would not want to pay extra on top of the ridiculous quote especially not at $115 an hour. So at this point I started moving things by myself by the time they even started I had already cleared and moved 1/4 of the stuff I wanted them to take but because they were telling me it would take them forever to wrap and move everything even after the already saw all the stuff and quoted me! I really don't want to continue in detail so here are some obvious noes. The mover tried to make me happy and tell me that it would be less then what he quoted me by subtracting my $100 deposit from my total thinking I would forget about it!  One of the movers had STAFF INFECTION and kept touching his infection and proceeded to touch/move my belongings. I was on the in their truck moving and loading my belongs as well as wrapping/taping my belongings. They did not put beds back together that they took apart.I did my own inventory of the items being brought in since they were just going to bring things up without inventorying and match with what they took. I have more to say but I get frustrated thinking back to everything that has happened.Overall I ended up paying $1,800! FAIR WARNING TO ALL STAY AWAY!

  10. The Worst Moving Experience Ever.

I would not even give them 1 star.  They verbally promised to deliver my furniture from Chicago to Southwest Michigan (a total of 75 miles) in a day or two with a local truck.  When they showed up 17 days later, they had the largest 18 wheeler I had ever seen so they wanted to charge me four hundred dollars more because they couldn't get their truck down the street because it was so huge.  They said they would deliver my items on saturday between 1 and 4.   They never showed then the driver called me and said he would be there between 9 and 10 am Sunday morning.  No heads up from company about delivery.  All of my items were damaged in some way.  Rugs were wet and dirty because they didn't wrap them.  A priceless midcentury buffet that my parents bought in 1956 in Denmark was in perfect condition when they picked it up - when they delivered it, one leg was broken off.  All of my upholstered furniture was only wrapped in plastic wrap (which they did) and not covered with blankets, so all of my furniture had dirt spots on them from where they had been dragged.  Also. almost every leg on every chair was chipped.  New dressers and armoires were chipped in multiple places.  One box had split open.  This is the worst long-distance moving company ever.  Every person I spoke to lied (the sales person, the manager, the dispatcher) and the way they talked to me made me think they had been through this before.  How dare the manager get upset with me for calling him unprofessional.   They are totally incompetent, I was worried I might not ever see my furniture again, so when it finally arrived I was just glad to see it again.  I wish I had read all of these reviews first. .

  11. Just Read my Worst Experience so Far.

All I will say is that everything you read about this company on the internet is TRUE.  But practically these folks are incompetent and very dishonest to maintain their commitment. They normally inform quotation by phone (even though if you asked them to come to your home for an actual quotation, they do not entertain that, I did not know the reason at the time of booking; but now I came to know….”Why these folk do not come to customer’s house to say proper quotation”, Reason is: I hired them for moving my stuff from IL to CA and their sales guy estimated my stuff at 400 cu feet..when the movers team came and loaded the stuff it came out to be less than that . So I asked them to revise the quote but they are disagreed to do that as I was told that I will need to pay for 400 since they have booked that much space for me..which was really ridiculous…!!More over one of the customer sales representative told me(before mover came to my house for packing items) , if there is any change required they can do that on the day of movement/loading items…but there is lot of communication gap between the "movers came to my house to pack items" and the sales representative guy"…….!!    EZ Movers have been the worst Movers and Packers I have seen . MY items were stolen….This company should carry all the negative feedback , so there is honest suggestion that find for OTHER MOVERS,  There are plenty of other movers- there is no reason to put yourself through the frustration that these guys offer best…….

  12. Unprofessional EZ Movers.

EZ Movers have been the worst Movers and Packers I have seen..I hired them for moving my stuff from chicago to north carolina..their sales guy estimated my stuff at 550 cu feet..when the move team came and loaded the stuff it came out to be 450 cu feet. When I asked them to review the quote I was told that I will need to pay for 550 since they have booked that much space for me..which was shocking..second they said it will take 10 business days they delievered on 11th day..third their packing was so fragile many of my stuff was broken..so guys please be cautious while dealing with EZ Movers..they are not a professional company..

  13. Slow, inefficient, unprofessional move.

To start, the move was scheduled to begin at 9 AM on Monday June 3, 2013. This time was scheduled well in advance and yet the movers did not arrive at the first location until 9:30 AM, apparently due to traffic. If traffic time is not taken into consideration as part of the travel time to a location, then a start time of 9AM should not have been agreed to by all parties involved. After explaining exactly what needed to be moved, and to which location the foreman actually had the start time of the move at 9:45 AM The estimate - After sending the information online about which items were going to be moved, an estimate was sent back to me at the minimum level, 2 and a half to 3 hours. According to EZ Movers employees, I did not have much to move. I spoke with employees (specifically Denise) multiple times during the week leading up to the move and added a fourth stop to the move and again explaining exact items being moved, including the small piano and where they were going. Again the 2-3 hour estimate was quoted to me. I actually thought it could be a bit of a low estimate and figured it could go as long as 3-4 hours and then planned my budget accordingly. When the foreman arrived, and looked things he then changed the estimate from 2-3 hours, to 7 hours. For some reason he did not have the 4th stop on his itinerary list, even though EZ Movers were notified of this ahead of time. That is a four hour discrepancy. Of course the final move took over eight hours. The only differences in the original itinerary was taking a dining room table, a flatscreen TV, and one barstool off of the list, and adding a small desk, 2 office chairs and a small plastic storage container, none of which were large or heavy. I also had an elliptical which was not an option on the estimate but I had mentioned over the phone. I felt the foreman’s 7 hour estimate was high and told him so. At this point I felt pressured to continue with the move, both by the foreman and by external pressures, as I had planned it out ahead of time with my old building on Van Buren, my new building on Sheridan, and would have been fined to change everything at literally the last minute. The foreman said we could spend time talking about it or he can just start the move, but his clock would be running either way. Communication - There was a definite communication issue on all levels of this move, from the employees who gave my original estimate, to the foreman, to his employees working under his direction. The differing items and fourth stop missing from his itinerary were just the start. Next, all the items that were to be moved to the second stop were clearly marked with purple papers and the #2 written on them.  The only item (a loveseat) going to the third stop was marked with blue paper and the #3 clearly written on it. Time was wasted having to explain this multiple times to all the employees, two of which did not speak very good english. I don’t have a problem with them not speaking english well in and of itself, if the foreman can accurately and adequately explain to them what needs to be done. He did not communicate this information to them, leaving it to me to explain to them multiple times, in order to make sure they understood. No boxes were scheduled to be moved, only furniture, yet I found employees taping up or moving boxes and had to explain multiple times not to do that. At one point one of the younger employees was asked to move the loveseat out of the apartment while there was still a dresser in the hallway. The employee expressed that they should get the dresser out of the way first to give them more room, but the foreman insisted they move the loveseat right away, and they had to lift the loveseat much higher to get it over the dresser, and out of the apartment. This took more time and effort than was necessary. The dresser meanwhile, was slated to go to the final destination of the move, and the couch was to go to the second to last stop. Logically, it needed to go on the truck after the dresser anyway. The foreman did not appear to advise, listen or take positive advice from his employees that could have made the move more smooth and efficient for all involved. Throughout the move only one mover showed a sense of urgency and repeatedly told the newer men to hurry up that they were wasting time. He was also the only mover who apologized to be about the delays in the move and the damage done to my furniture. He apologized saying that the move could have been done in half the time without all the inefficiencies, communication, and lack of urgency by the other movers. The foreman didn’t have a sense of urgency at all throughout the move, as he would be paid on an hourly basis. At the final destination, the large desk did not fit easily through the doorway, so one of the younger movers asked the foreman for help and the foreman basically said: no, figure it out, I’m busy. He was, at the time, arguing with me about changing the end time and could have taken the time to advise the younger mover on how to get the desk through the doorway. The younger guy asked again for help and the foreman finally went over there and said to take the door off then came back to criticize me about the end time and how I needed to pay for the thirty minute break. Finally the manager at EZ Movers said to keep the original end time so the foreman finally wanted to hurry up and get everything moved in as he wasn’t getting paid. He told the younger mover that he was taking the door off incorrectly, and that he should remove the hinges, to which the younger mover was eventually able to figure it out and get the desk through. This had wasted another 20 minutes as the foreman could have listened to him the first time he had asked for help, and showed him how to take the door off properly. Inefficiency and time wasting - The truck that was originally provided for the move had to be switched out, after they had already spent the time to back it into the lot at the Van Buren location. Apparently this was due to the foreman not reading the itinerary ahead of time and seeing that a piano needed to be moved. I explained to the foreman that it was an electric upright piano that wasn’t really heavy so they could use the current truck but he insisted that they needed the new truck to lift it. After the foreman started the clock on the move at 9:45AM, it took until 11AM for the second truck to arrive and be parked and setup ready for the move. During the interim, two of the four employees proceeded to continue wrapping and moving a few items outside, while the other two employees stayed outside to help get one truck out and the other truck into the lot. As for the rest of their equipment, they came with one cart with handles, and other small, wooden floor carts. The cart with the handles had a broken tire and was unusable and I had to lend them one of my own carts to expedite things. The wooden, carts that just go under items to roll them were not used effectively and items fell off multiple times, wasting time and causing damage. Next, I was told by the foreman to write down any items that should not be wrapped up and then sign that I would take liability for anything that may get broken due to not wrapping. I was told that this would help save time and yet they ended up wrapping the TV stand anyways, even though it was on the list to not wrap, and it still ended up getting broken. This did not save any time. There were several other items I noted didn’t need to be wrapped in order to cut down on time, but ended up getting wrapped by the employees because the foreman did not tell them not to do so, which again caused a slow-up on the move time. I was told it was okay if I used a little of the bubble wrap to wrap my 3 small paintings to help save time, which I did, and then personally took them to the truck. Then at the final destination, I personally unloaded the paintings and brought them upstairs. At the end of the day the foreman tried to say these was added items not on the itinerary, yet neither he nor his employees touched them at all. Throughout the move I helped with bringing items down to the truck and upstairs to the apartment. Basically I was told that I could help them to make it quicker, which I did, then told at the end by the foreman that I was not a help at all, and that it was part of the reason I was being charged more time and money. At the second stop, the storage facility, I had to rent a cart for the movers to use because they were having difficulty using the equipment they had and it was taking them extra time to use it. Then we sat for 30 minutes, blocking other drivers, while they took out the loveseat and put it towards the front for the next stop. I had clearly labeled and said several times that this was going to the 3rd stop so it should have been towards the back of the truck already. One of the movers said that they had forgotten it was going to the next stop so had put other items in front of it. Once arriving at the 3rd stop, time was spent pulling the truck in then pulling the truck out and re-backing into the loading zone which I had specified had to be done from the get-go. Then again using the little carts wasted more time than just carrying the loveseat and electric piano which by their accounts were not heavy. Two of them were able to carry both items easily. At the final stop, everyone just quit moving altogether for thirty minutes without notifying me. The foreman later said this was because I called the company to complain about the time and that they would leave my furniture out in the hall if I didn’t agree to pay an additional hour for them to move everything in. I had already previously agreed to an end time with the foreman so I do not understand why he would then change that end time again and penalize me for the movers taking a thirty minute break. The movers didn’t even bother to take out furniture from the elevator so my items were going up and down while my neighbors were blocked in by the furniture. This is a fire hazard and could result in a fine from the building. Then the manager at EZ Movers told the foreman to keep the initial end time, which seemed to anger the foreman. He cursed and told the movers to just dump everything in the apartment and not bother putting it in the room it was supposed to go.   Usually I am not a person to complain. Generally, if there is a minor service issue or I am forced to spend a few extra dollars, I will let it slide and go on about my business. This experience with EZ Movers was far beyond anything I’d experienced before. The glaring issues in poor estimation, slow and inefficient movers and general rudeness and lack of caring by the employees involved was unacceptable. As I stated earlier, one of your own employees apologized for the issues and agreed that the estimate should not have been that far off from the final move time. The foreman, on the other hand, showed a lack of caring and leadership that was necessary to effectively make this job go smoothly. Instead of making my move easier, quicker, and less stressful (reasons that are generally used when deciding to hire movers), it became just the opposite. I just went back to your website and got a new estimate with every single item that was moved (including the two boxes which I told them not to move), with as accurate as possible dimensions and every stop that we made. This final estimate was 636 cubic feet which is far less than the 1000 cubic feet quoted to me by the foreman. The time estimate is 3.75 hours, and total cost of $598.5. I feel this is a direct deception that lured me in to hire EZ Movers, only to have charges skyrocket when it was too late to change the plans. The low price and estimated amount of time was what caused me to choose EZ Movers over other companies that I got quotes from. I made my plans based on your information and budgeted accordingly, and could not afford to have charges balloon to such epic proportions. Because of this, I had to borrow money to be able to afford the first months rent at my apartent. Also due to the direct action of the movers, I’m not yet sure if I will have extra fines from my building for potential fire hazards or continuing to use the elevator for times outside of when I had it booked for use.

  14. Go With Anyone Else.

I was referred to EZ Movers by a friend who had a positive experience with them in the past.  I could not have been more disappointed by their service.

I was quoted $470 for a move from the suburbs to the city.  I was advised to purchase my own packaging materials (tape, shrink wrap, bubble wrap) to save money.  I received 15 boxes and the use of 5 wardrobe boxes included in the quote.  I was told the move would take 4 hours, including the hour drive.

It appeared that two of the movers were somewhat new and were not sure what they were doing.  The foreman kept yelling at one in particular, especially when he was using their packaging materials instead of the ones I spent $70 for!  It became clear that it was going to take much longer than the quoted 4 hours.  When I called the office to discuss, I was told that unless I signed a new quote, they would unpack the entire truck and would leave.  They anticipated that the move would end up taking 6 hours..at an extra $99 per hour!

We got to my new apartment and they began moving things in, but paid absolutely no attention to anything that was marked as to where it should go.  It ended up taking them 5.5 hours to do the job.  The foreman charged me for the use of wardrobe boxes, even though they were supposed to be included.  I ended up paying $627..$157 more than I was quoted.  If I had known this, I would have gone with a different company.

I thought I would be nice and provided the movers with a box of muffins, bagels, cream cheese, Gatorade, and a 12 pack of water.  Rather than just taking a few, they kept everything for themselves!

When I complained to the company, they explained that the person who provided me the quote was no longer with the company.  The only compensation they offered was reimbursement for the wardrobe boxes.  They then wanted me to sign a release saying that I would not file a complaint with the BBB.  I told them they could keep the reimbursement.

This is my first experience with a moving company and I will NEVER go with this company again and highly recommend no one else does.

  15. Great movers! Will use them again.

I was very impressed by the overall experience, starting by the estimate I was given the day before the move to the moving crew. The guys did a great job on packing. I could not have done better. I would definitely contact E-Z Movers for another move in the future.
