  1. Leamington Spa to Moreton, Dorset.

    Professional and Trusting.
We were recommended to try Movecorp by a neighbour who had recently used them to move and I can’t thank the neighbour enough. From day one and my first phone call to them until the day after the move when the co-ordinator Michelle called us, the experience has been superbly handled by Movecorp. The price was brilliant, the contact with Michelle reassuring and the move was so easy. Nothing ever seemed to be a problem, even though I must have contacted them a dozen times, and Michelle was always friendly and happy to give advice on what to me was a major concern yet to Movecorp was just another day at the office. Finally you get a chance to leave a review on a site? Talk about having trust in your company.

  2. No show on moving day- had to leave my things behind.

I decided to use Movecorp as they were cheap and because their salesperson, Rachel has a good telephone manner and seemed to know what she was talking about. I paid 550 to ship my belongings (boxes of clothes) from Spain to Vietnam. The price was too good to be true. Moving day came and I waited inside all day to no avail, it was a no show. This was a stressful experience as I was due to leave the country 2 days later to move to my new home and I had to leave my things behind as movecorp refused to come the following day. Movecorp offered little in the way of explanation but I'm guessing that as they sub-contract the collection work to a Spanish company something went amiss there to stop them from collecting. They said they could arrange it for another day and as I had little other choice, I agreed but obviously as I had already left the country, I had to be reliant on friends to look after my things and to be there for collection. Communication was painstakingly complicated, as I wanted to know times (approx) of collection and they just kept saying they were unable to tell me as it was an "all day service"- obviously they were having communication problems with the company they sub-contract. They failed to come the second time because it was a public holiday. I already knew it was a holiday but I thought (as anyone would) that as they had already agreed to do it on that day, that they must be working, only to have a friend wait in all day and for them again to not show up. I called the next day to see what had happened only for them to say "yeah, aparantly it was a public holiday". Duh, I already knew that! I agreed a third and final time to let them come and collect and again, with no explanation, nothing. This time I didn't bother to find out why, I asked for a refund. The only good thing about this whole experience was that my money was refunded without issue. After reading some of the other reviews on here I was quite worried that I was never going to see my money again. Quite seriously- avoid- this is one of the worst companies ever.

  3. Manchester to Illinois.

Just a few lines to say thanks Movecorp for doing a great job. Your assistance and thoughts were both professional and honest and proved to be correct on the day of delivery almost you were a day early so you must have been working on UK time. A lot of companies would not have done the research and ground work that you did and would have led to a disaster on the day. Brilliant co-ordination and execution and a job well done. Great job.

  4. Middle of the road quote but fast lane service.

As with anything I am paying for a service for, I checked out a number of removal companies sites and sought quotations before deciding who I was going to move with. I went for the middle(ish) quotation with Movecorp for my move. I self-packed, as being extremely organised (some would say borderline OCD!!) I wanted to ensure everything was packed for easy unpacking the other end when it arrived in Cardiff. The removal guys were extremely helpful, careful with all of my items and did instill faith in me when handling my delicate items. Goods arrived as scheduled on my delivery date. Move went smoothly, luckily had no items lost or broken and was a good price for the high quality service I received. I would recommend to my friends and family. I would particularly like to thank my co-ordinator Lauren who organised and booked in my move.

  5. Moving.

I engaged Movecorp to move items from Ireland and London to Perth Western Australia. I arranged for 2 boxes of CD’s to be picked up from Ireland and 6 boxes from London. (The boxes from Ireland containing approximately 1,000 CD’s).       I was told it would take 8 weeks to ship items door to door; this took more than 12 weeks. As it took so long I picked them up from a warehouse in Perth. When I collected my items there was 7 items, 1 box of CD’s missing.       I chased this up and after several emails Movecorp said it would be unlikely that the missing box would be found and offered me 40 pounds Sterling by way of compensation.       Having informed Movecorp of the condense of the boxes prior to them picking them up they increased there quote – this leading me to believe that they knew the full value of each box and would increase there liability. This turned out not to be the case.       I tried to establish where the box went missing and after several emails and phone calls later they finally told me that they received all boxes to here where house but only 7 had been placed in a shipping container. – This leads me to believe that they did not misplace the box but it has been stolen from their depot I am still in contact with Movecopr on a weekly bases in the hope that the box turns up but they are extremely slow to respond to my emails as this matter drags on.       Avoid using this company at all costs.  .

  6. Effects from France to UK.

The above "Pick Up and Delivery" does not allow me to show that the collection was from Val d'Isere in the French mountains to York. In May 2010 we made a snap decision to sell our property in Val d'Isere and had to asrrange removal of all our furniture and effects within two weeks.  Movecorp were superb.  Despite it being impossible to get a large removal van up the mountain, they arranged to ferry in smaller vehicles to the bottom of the mountain, and miraculously kept to an extremely tight time schedule. They then stored the effects for over a year, before arranging a perfectly on-time delivery earlier this year, with everything neatly packed and negligible breakages. At all times their approach to problems was highly professional, and nothing was ever impossible or too much trouble.    .

  7. Father was right.

My father said how good you were and after my move I have to say that good old dad was right as usual. I could not believe the price I was quoted, the girls in the office kept saying “that’s too cheap watch what you are doing”, but I am glad I can now say I made the right choice. To please my dad is praise in its self but too please me as well? Fantastic, thankyou.

  8. Horrendous company!

Movecorp arrived on time to collect my belongings, and everything seemed great. They told me I could expect my delivery to France within 7-14 days. After two weeks passes I had to call them to find out what was going on, as I'd had no news. They told me they'd had a breakdown and I'd have to wait another week. A week later I emailed again and once again got the same story.   Eventually I did get by belongings. However their lorry reversed into out property causing a fair amount of damage (over a £1000 worth to be precise). The driver initially denied having hit our property and when it was pointed out to him that at least 2 people had seen him, he then admitted having "touched" the property (with an HGV that is!) I was told to get an estimate for the damage, which I did. I was then told that I'd need to get another 2 estimates as they were going to claim on their insurance. After providing 3 estimates I heard nothing. I emailed them to find out what was going on and was told I'd need to provide a written account of what happened on the day. I did this and finally got a reply: they offered me less than one tenth of the total cost of the damage! The driver denied having caused the damage and so they believed him over me.   This issue has still not been resolved and it looks as if a £350 move may well end up costing over £1500. I would never recommend this company in a million years!

  9. Fantastic.

Have used Movecorp twice now and I would like to say that both moves have been fantastic. Professional outstanding service, friendly staff who took great care with my possessions. Price was very good again and yet again I am a very happy new homeowner. Will definitely use Movecorp again and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a reliable caring company.

  10. Terrible Service.

If you are looking for a moving company, avoid at all costs, MoveCorp (MoveCorp.co.uk). The initial quote and process was very simple and easy, however this is the best you will get. The paperwork you are given to fill in is incomplete for International Shipping. The agent, Michelle H (but by my guess they are all equal), had no answers to any of my questions from the start. The initial pickup was disorganized with MoveCorp giving me a 10 hour window on the wrong day. After my calls to Michelle, her response was, "I don't Know" and nothing more. I had to find and contact the shipping provider on my own. This was only the initial move, as what they don't tell you is that all goods must go to their UK depot and it's not direct from your location to your destination. The next part was that I received a call from a random woman at a random address in Glasgow saying she had received part of my shipment. After calling Michelle at MoveCorp, there was literally no record of this error and without the phone call from the kind woman, no one would have known part of my belongings was missing. This was OUTRAGEOUS. To top it off, Michelle gave an excuse each day I called as to why no one could pickup my missing parcel (no answer, poor timing, rules about pickup from courier) and all the while my box sat outside in the elements. After that was sorted, Michelle decided to take a week vacation without telling me and before sending my shipment off to the US. I had to call the main company, get another agent to fill-in for her (this was twice by the way, the first re-assignment, the agent didn't even recognize it was a US shipment and was taken off my case after she sent me various extra documents to fill out for UK delivery). After this was sorted, they proposed to sell me re-packing services as they said some of my boxes were severely damaged. I was irate as these were the parcels left out in Glasgow by no fault of my own. Finally the parcels were sent (so I thought). Michelle was back after her nice holiday and sent me a note to check in and pass along the tracking number (of course the wrong tracking number). Then I find out it wasn't sent and I had to call and confirm from UPS and get the tracking number directly from them (at this point I didn't believe a word out of Michelle's inept mouth). 10 weeks later and one of my parcels is still in the UK due to 'hazardous material' considerations that I had advised and paid extra for in advance. Wish me luck. DO NOT USE THEM EVER. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

  11. Late and tried to scam us.

We had a removal from mainland Europe to Ireland. We were flying to Ireland a week after our furniture was collected. However Move Corp kept changing the collection dates, even though it was them that had picked the dates in the first place.. we had worked around them. We picked them only because they were cheapest. The men turned up 4 or so days late, with us only being informed each day that it wouldn't be today.. so with time running out we were getting nervous of missing our flights. Nearly a month later we are still waiting for our furniture to be delivered. We have been telephoning them, but they just say they don't know when it will appear..and now they have our furniture, what can you do. PLUS they tried to scam us about going over what we had booked. They were trying to charge us for double the amount, even when their driver had said it might be a 'little' over. However after we kept complaining that this couldn't be true, one of their staff accidently let slip what the real amount was..100 m2 less than they were trying to bill us for.. They are crooks, who make promises to get the work, that they have no intention of delivering. Would never use this company again.   .

  12. Promising high, delivering low.

We contacted Movecorp for a move from Italy to the Netherlands. They had a good quote, so we contacted them. However, when we selected them, they raised their quote with 50%. We still continued with their service, because they were able to help us quickly. However, at the moment we paid a deposit, they suddenly were not able to help us anymore at the requested date. Looking at other reviews here and elsewhere, I now understand their strategy: giving high promises to get you as a customer, but to deliver very poorly as soon as you agree to use their services. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH MOVECORP!

  13. Move from france to Australia.

I was really happy with the pre-removal service I received. I was very, very unhappy with the arrival of my goods! 2 Antique chairs, wrapped By Movecorp and so covered by their insurance for breakage arrived with legs snapped clean off the body and arm rest also! The cardboard boxes each had their corners ripped open by the shear weight placed on top of them or by throwing them from a great height along with my chairs! When it came to claiming insurance, it was a long wait and finally they will pay only the value I had listed as a replacement cost of one chair ($350) not the cost it will incur to have a professional antique chair repair person repair the chairs to original condition! ($1990). Beware- put a much higher value on the items you ship and be prepared to loose a lot of ceramics to breakage - I also lost 13 ceramics pieces dearly collected from 8 yrs of living in Europe!

  14. Avoid this company at all costs.

Movecorp is the most unprofessional and dishonest company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I contacted this company to ship our possessions from the UK to the USA when we emigrated. Their salesperson, Kate Saunders, quoted a price for 250 cu ft of approximately 1500 british pounds. We were on a tight budget so we marked out the area and made sure everything fitted into that space. Once they had taken our shipment to their warehouse, we were stunned when we received an e-mail to say they had done a 'volume adjustment' and, as our shipment was substantially larger than we had told them it would be, we owed an ADDITIONAL £850! Then they took the money out of our account without authorisation, leaving us with no money for our last few days in England as we had already transferred our money to a bank account in the USA. I called Kate and she assured us they had checked their measurements and we owed them the money. I then spoke to the sales manager James, who must be the most unpleasant individual you could hope to meet. I told him we wanted to come and check the shipment volume ourselves as it was the last day we would be in the UK and wouldn't have another opportunity to do so. He refused to let us see our consignment and when I said my husband was on his way over, James kept saying to me "What part of no don't you understand?" My husband and his brother arrived at Movecorp's warehouse and asked to see our shipment and were told no. Luckily the Director, Matt Belleini was there and came over to see what the problem was. After a long discussion, he agreed that he would check the size of the shipment again when he had moved other crates out of the way and he would let us know the following morning. Lo and behold, the next morning (just as we were boarding our flight) my brother-in-law range to say he had received an e-mail to say Movecorp had indeed measured and we had been right all along (they said we were actually just a bit over but that they would ship that at no charge as a ‘goodwill gesture’. All that stress and upset because of some dishonest salespeople who quote a low price to get your business and then, once they think you can't check, tell you that you are using far more space than you thought! There is a website which gives this company glowing reviews but don't believe a word - I have tried to submit a truthful review with no luck. The Movecorp site lists several phone numbers for different areas, making it look like they have several offices, but all the numbers go through to their Lichfield warehouse. I can't convey in words how much this stress this company added to our move. A lot of our things were broken when they arrived. It took them a week to return the excess they had fraudulently taken from our bank account. My advice would be to steer well clear of this company - they might sound cheaper initially but with their dubious business practices, they end up costing much more than a reputable firm. I wonder how many other expats have been caught out by this firm.

  15. Easy move to Switzerland.

My partner and I recently relocated to Switzerland for his work and after reading recent feedback, I was a bit dubious using these guys for my removal overseas. From my initial quote through to the goods being delivered, I found the service provided absolutely fine.
James Mallett and Elisa Maneffa who were the Sales Co-ordinator’s I liaised with were great and the guys got all of our stuff to us on time and in the condition, it left the UK in.
All in all, stress-free move and would use again should it be necessary at some point.
