  1. Very polite, and super efficient.

I would just like to post this message about how my house removal from Birmingham was dealt with very professionally.

It started off with me deciding to visit the website and enter my details online, after I had been let down by another national moving company (I wont mention the name).

I received a response within 20 minutes of submitting my enquiry - incredible! The lady who called me was very polite, and super efficient. I was booked in and ready to move, all within a few hours.

When it came to the removal day, the removal men Ben and Mark, arrived on time looked very presentable and once again, very polite. Everything was efficiently packed into the large van and unloaded to my house without any damages or delays.

  2. Lack of respect and an unwillingness to be open.

Lack of respect for customers and an unwillingness to be open and honest.

My parents are in the process of moving from Italy to France, and had selected Movecorp on the basis that they had assured them they were able to provide the exact service they wanted, and had given a reasonable quote.
After several weeks of emails back and forth clarifying exact details, my parents suddenly received an email from Movecorp saying that there had been an error and the price they should have been quoted was £3000 more. No apology was offered at this stage.
My parents felt extremely upset that they had not been contacted over the phone, and that the tone of the email was flippant and remorseless. My dad phoned Movecorp and spoke to the young lady who had made the mistake, explaining that although he understood she had not misquoted on purpose, she had been very slow to pick up on her error and that her failure to call them and offer her sincere apologies was rather disrespectful. When he alluded to her incompetence on this occasion, she became very upset and accused him of being aggressive towards her.
My parents later received a phone call from Movecorp's sales manager. Again, no apologies were offered. He claims to have apologised several times, but from my own conversation with this gentleman I noticed he was very good at saying that he had apologised without actually every saying the word 'sorry'.. His helpful advice was to ask my dad if he had any other quotes from other companies and then telling my dad that maybe he should 'go with someone else then'. He also said to my father that it was a good thing the error had been spotted now, rather than nearer the time as that 'really would have caused them problems'. At no time was there any offer to reduce the cost of the move even by a fraction, as compensation for Movecorp's incompetence. There was no disregard for the fact that my parents had already made other arrangements surrounding their move based on Movecorp's schedule. The whole attitude was one of 'like it or lump it', with a flagrant lack of respect for my parents.
My encounter with Movecorp came when, disgusted at the way my parents had been treated, I decided to post my feedback on Movecorp's page entitled Reviews and Complaints: http://www.movecorp.org/
The first thing I noticed was the total lack of any complaints and a wealth of glowing feedback. It seems that Movecorp are the perfect removals company! Shortly after submitting my feedback for review, I received an email from the sales manager asking if he could call and discuss this issue. He did, and we had a 20 minute conversation in which he:
    - refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing on the part of Movecorp
    - repeatedly insisted that my father had been aggressive and abusive to staff over the phone
    - more or less refused to apologise
    - again made the assertion that if my parents didn't like it, they could find someone else
    - became extremely irate, bordering on aggressive, when I pointed out that my parents are pensioners and don't have an extra £3000 to pay for this move
    - was unable to offer a satisfactory explanation as to why this 'human error' (to the tune of £3000) hadn't been noticed earlier
    - was also unable to offer a satisfactory explanation as to why Movecorp only post positive feedback on their site (company policy, apparently, to not post complaints on a page entitled 'Complaints'
    - made it perfectly clear that there was no flexibility in price whatsoever, and had a general lack of understanding for good customer service or consumer rights.

So there we have it. My parents are now in the difficult position of trying to find someone else in a short space of time to perform a complicated removal, and all their original plans are all up in the air. Human error is totally understandable - nobody is perfect. However, a blatant lack of respect for existing customers and a fear of being open and honest to potential customers is, quite frankly, disgusting and unprofessional. I would urge people to definitely look elsewhere.

  3. Movecorp - Fantastic Service & Value for Money !!

Well, my husband and I were dreading the move to France but have to say, it was all unnecessary worry.

Our move was stress free from start to finish. We received outstanding customer service & great value for money in comparison to other leading companies who quoted us!

Our move co-ordinator, James Mallett was helpful from start to finish of our move and understood all of our needs.

On the removal day, the Movecorp Crew that collected were extremely helpful and patient, especially with me, as I was to say the least very anxious and stressed about the whole move.

We used the Groupage Service which James recommended and our goods got to us within 10 days which tied in perfectly with our plans.

I would without hesitation recommend Movecorp to all family and friends and would definately use them again should it be necessary.

  4. Ripped off.

I had an equally terrible experience to some of the other reviewers - I was scammed by Movecorp in April 2011. I selected them based on the cheapest quote. I pressed staff about the accuracy of their estimation of volume, and even sent them an inventory (which they did not ask for like many other companies). Movecorp assured me "we've done this many times before and believe me it's accurate".

    1. Two poor Movecorp removalist staff ARRIVED at our house at the end of the day completely exhausted. The truck was overfull and they apparently still had another job to do before driving from London up to the Movecorp depot in Manchester. They were worried about blowing out tyres on the highway due to overloading, which apparently had happened to them before! They literally rammed the contents of our house into every nook and cranny of the truck. Not a good start and a sign of the problems to come.

    2. Movecorp sold me the service as including blanket wrapping of all furniture to properly protect it. Apparently special wrapping would be used for our mattress. Nothing of ours was wrapped in any way or form! It was just shoved into the truck.

    3. The inventory keeping was inaccurate, we later realised due to our own digital camera records, and had to call Movecorp to make sure they were going to keep everything of ours together. We were given assurances. We also asked them to properly wrap our things in their warehouse, especially our expensive mattress.

    4. Here comes the worst part: Movecorp call to say they measured our consignment volume at the warehouse and it was to cost 33% more. Payment required by credit card immediately. I made a fuss but they said they would seize our goods (our entire household contents). We were ransomed, so we paid, no choice as we had arrived at our new house in France with no furniture, clothes, kitchen goods ect!

    5. Then our consignment was delayed. It wasn't sent on the shipping date we had agreed by telephone (before signing up) and we had to wait till the next month! Again, in our new house with nothing, so had to re-buy furniture! I tried to speak to various Movecorp staff, but did not care one bit. They were in fact tough as nails once they had our stuff and it's clear they had a lot of experience with angry customers.

    5. The shippment finally arrived. Again, at the end of the day, with inexperienced and totally exhauseted staff, who we had to help carry things in from the truck. Several items, including antique wooden furniture items were severely damaged. Our expensive mattress soiled and disformed. There you go. What a horrible experience with Movecorp.

I used Team Allied/Pickfords the previous year to move from Holland to London. Incomparable. Proper onsite quoting, seamless professional serivce door to door, and not one scratched item. It cost a bit more up front, but less in the end after all the additional costs involved in the Movecorp ordeal.

Googling shows several sites with numerous high or 10/10 reviews and lots of positive comments. Do not believe it! These look very suspicious and Movecorp is probably publishing fakes to drown the real complaints on the internet. Some of the sites actually block public reviews and seem to be rigged sites. How evil is that!

BE WARNED - DO NOT USE MOVECORP - THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR BELONGINGS AND WILL RIP YOU OFF!

  5. Great Service.

I have used Movecorp on two occassions; the first to transport a large amount of valuable furniture to Lake Como, where we have a collection of lakeside Villas available for rent. The second, our own house move in the UK, to Broadway, Worcs.

On both occasions, the Movecorp staff involved were extremely courteous, polite and conscientious. I deal with a number of different industries on a day to day basis, and I have to say that nowadays, very good customer service like this, really stands out!
The lads that came over to Italy remained professional throughout even though they had navigate the huge vehicle around some Italy Italian lake roads! The job was completed on time and to a very high standard.

And again, with the job in the UK, nothing was too much trouble, and even when the job was carried over to the following day, it was dealt with speedily and efficiently, with a van ready to collect some addditional items the following morning, as we'd asked.
We shall certainly be using Movecorp for all of our overseas and UK requirements, and have already recommended their services.

  6. My move in london.

Our family has outgrown some of the furniture pieces inside the house. In fact some of the furniture pieces were 20 to 30 years old! We don’t want to sell these or just give these away to some friends. If we need to unload these, at least we send these to some cousins that we love. So we decided on international furniture shipping. We checked out service providers online, and Movecorp is one of those that caught our attention. Customer service was good, and we got a competitive quote for our pieces (we already checked 3 providers, and what they offered was the lowest). What we liked is the way they wrapped and packed the furniture pieces. Excellent wrapping and packing materials were used. And we’re sure of that since our cousins phoned us a week ago telling us that the furniture pieces arrived in excellent condition- no marks, breakage or dents!

  7. Move from STOCKHOLM TO UK.

We chose this company in haste as we had been let down by another remover. As they say

"act in haste , repent at leisure".

Anyway, to start with the communication was great until we paid in advance. After that I found that I needed to be proactive to make sure that things happened. The promised collection of Thursday or Friday turned out to be Friday afternoon and indeed might not have happened at all had I not constantly reminded them that we had flights booked on the Saturday.

So the truck arrived but without sufficient space to fit the planned load and so some items were left behind. We later had to arrange a local removers to take these to a self storeage facility for Movecorp to collect some time later.

Back in the UK and again having to be proactive in demanding information to find that the proposed delivery would be 13 days after collection! So with most of our clothes on a truck somewhere I ended up buying a suit, shirts and ties for business meetings.

Now 28 days after the initial collection and I have no news about the remaining items despite asking for an update 4 days ago.

Currently waiting for a Sales Manager to call be back but I will not hold my breath.

Overall impression is that the customer is not important in this relationship as long as he pays and helps to optimise the load utilisation.

  8. EU delivery.

Very attentive from the start of original quote, which escalated and needed extra insurance, which turned out not worth the effort.

The tile crates were damaged and hence tiles broken. They say not their fault!
The crates were only movable by forklift .. so they had to have been mis-handled at some stage.
The external packaging was removed and items left out in rain.

Changed pick up location and ended up having to deliver ourseleves to their warehouse.
Changed delivery dates even though I had given them a weeks window, then gave me 24 hrs notice for a different date and I had to get over to France to accept delivery!

Delay in delivery in France, driver couldn't find address (its on Google even!)
Not our fault is their reply.
Will persue futher but DO NOT recommend this company at all.

  9. Movecorp.

12 weeks to move a piano from Italy to the Netherlands. And this with never ending email and phone calls and three 'abortive' delivery: after having got the delivery cancelled a first time they tried to deliver when I was in vacation (after I told them many times and with weeks forewarning is was not home). They promised to deliver the following week, but never got the target date. After they cancelled again the next delivery because the piano did not fit on the truck :-(
I've got it finally delivered after more than 12 weeks because, after menacing of contacting all the associations they are member of, the director took things in his hands and the piano was delivered within one week.
Not ever this company for a removal.

  10. Really bad.

Really bad! One month late for the delivery but the worse is they lost (or someone stole it) one of my suitcases with things I brought back from different countries (souvenirs) and I could never have back… So disgusted.
