  1. Don't use them!! Suggest joint claim.

Absolute scam. Did on line estimate (they calculated 4m3). Requested that they come round and validate as we thought it was less. Two appointments made and they didn't show up. Pick up day comes an de insist that they calculate in front of us - it was actually 2.5m3. Then get invoice stating that 4m3 was minimum charge!! Then delivery (contractually written) was for 25th July and at the latest 5th August. Frequent correspondence on this (before and after shipment). Arrives in Uk (from UAE) and clears customs on 10th July - and suddenly told that delivery is 22nd August (after we have returned to UAE and so no one to receive shipment). Repeatedly informed them that no one will be there and we had contractually agreed date but falls on deaf ears. Honestly don't give yourself the hassle / stress - have now got to go down the road of seeking compensation. If anyone else out there fancies doing a joint claim - please let me know: email is [EDIT] 93 (the email sign) gmail. com.

  2. Damaged goods.

I wish I had visited this site before arranging my removals. I can echo some of the other reviews. My move started with a simple house to house locally but the purchase fell through just as we were packing to leave so the goods had to go into storage for about 2 months while we found another house. All was going well until the men arrived with our goods. They greeted us by saying "there is a lot of damage". Item after item came out damaged - furniture broken, lamps broken, tables and chairs broken, crockery broken, my telescope broken and bits missing. My wife's clothes supposedly in wardrobe boxes had been packed flat and stored upright hence all tangled and creased. Then half our settee and chairs were missing and had to be found at a later time. I took photos of all the damaged goods for the record.

My mistake and I warn others now, was that I assumed there was some sort of insurance cover at least a minimal from the movers side but as I hadn't filled in a full and valued inventory list I had no insurance and during our time in storage my house insurance had lapsed. I was told that - tough I was not insured. They offered some minimal compensation but I was still pursuing the insurance claim though them. When that failed they withdrew the compensation. Finally I got a token apology.

I have just taken several car loads of broken items to the tip which will cost me close to £1000 to replace.

The whole episode and how it was handled left a sour taste in my mouth. I realise it was my naivety in not taking out their insurance which meant I hadn't a valid claim so technically they weren't obliged to recompense me for the damage, but I feel angry that I entrusted my valuables to them and they had a completely unprofessional way of handling and storing the goods and dealing with the aftermath.

People reading this should be careful to read the small print, take out as much, independent insurance as you can and keep careful records before trusting Movecorp with your move.

  3. Don't use Movecorp.

Our international move was a disaster. They were careless with our furniture damaging it when taking it apart. The team leader was rude and unhelpful and they didn't send enough packers. The driver of our container threatened to leave with the container half packed and my husband had to help pack up and put things in the truck till 10 at night. One of the most stressful and horrible experiences I have ever had with these people. After arrival there was a lot of damage meaning a big insurance claim for us.

  4. Short-notice changes, scratched furniture, unsympathetic manager.

On the whole MoveCorp was a disaster:
Whilst the communication in the lead-up for my very short-notice international move was fantastic, pretty much everything else was terrible. It was agreed (and fully paid for) to have my stuff picked up on a Thursday (for which there were good reasons). 3 days prior to the move I was informed that this would no longer be possible due to a sick driver. It strikes me as odd that a large removal company, specialied on international moves, could not find another driver to fulfill an already paid for contract. The onus was on me to arrange an alternative date for the pick up which was immensely stressful and difficult due to the lack of time. When I complained to the manager after having accommodated the company (not vice versa), he had the grace to call me but was very unsympathetic towards my experience, basically saying that "you had agreed to the change of plans so why are you complaining now"? Because in the emails that were exchanged it was made clear that if I didn't change the pick up date, the pick up would not happen (leaving me with 3 days to arrange an alternative pickup).

The actual guys picking up my stuff in London were very good and efficient. The people delivering my stuff in Germany a few weeks later were terrible. It took them forever to carry my possessions into my flat. That would not have been so problematic but my furniture was scratched, in some cases badly, because it had been deemed unnecessary to wrap the large pieces at all. No apologies or explanations, possibly because the staff spoke neither English nor German. When I complained to MoveCorp about this, I received no reaction at all, other than an email saying it would be mentioned to the manager.

On the whole, using MoveCorp was a) the most expensive and b) the worst and most stressful aspect of my move. For a company that supposedly specialises in international moves, they did a terrible job, being unreliable, inflexible and unsympathtic. Very disappointing.

  5. Substandard Service.

Movecorp.co.uk provided terrible customer service once they had received payment, I would have to contact them repeatedly for updates. Once our belongings arrived a tea set that had belonged to my Great grandmother was smashed to bits as well as my partners framed signed football shirt and his turntables were in an awful state. They had complete disregard for our belongings and will no recompense us for them! Do not use them.

  6. Excelent service.

The collection was on time and with a four man crew full packing service and loaded the same day with great care.
The delivery was arranged at a time to suit both Movecorp and my self and went without a hitch Jason and Jason worked very well together and the job was done in no time.
I would highly recommend Movecorp for any international removal,
With a special thank you to Emma Tennant who has been on hand over the last year to help with any questions and change removal dates on many occasions due to our buyer messing us about!
To sum up I don't think anyone else could have done it better.

  7. Great service!

We have booked MoveCorp for our move to Zurich from London.
Our experience was great. Our moving coordinator, Emma was very helpful and she dealt with our inquiries in a timely manner. A big thank you for her help!
The crew that was assigned for our job was very professional and packed everything so well that nothing was damaged.
They were able to answer all our questions and give us tips as well.
Overall, I truly recommend MoveCorp for their professionalism.

  8. Use at own risk.

Although I saw some good reviews online, my experience was unfortunately pretty bad. In short. We agreed a start time of 9am, with the packaging to be expected to take 2-3 hours. After them first trying to change the day of the move (on the day itself), movers ultimately arrived at 430pm without tools and appropriate packing material. Due to that I packed half of the stuff myself (as one of the guys was getting packing materials), although I was charged the full packaging fee, and the movers were not able to finalize the job (a 1 bed room apartment!). Next day, after pleas from my end to finalize the job (as I needed to vacate and clean the place), they come in - again without tools - in the afternoon. Ultimately it took them 2 days to load my belongings.

After my bad experience, it became worse when I finally received my belongings after 5 months (!!). Most of the moving boxes were banged up. Clothes, including suits that were in proper suit bags and in sealed carton boxes, were full of mold. Some clothing I had to through away; even after dry-cleaning. An antique chest arrived partially splintered (as was not packaged properly). Numerous items (incl. bike) and art works were bent and discolored. Some could not be repaired. In addition there were some missing items, incl. an art work. Although I understand things can go wrong in a move, the total experience was just appalling. On top, there was a total lack of service or interest in trying to improve the situation (e.g. no apology whatsoever). So as a conclusion, use them at your own risk!

  9. Great Service - Recommended.

We considered moving home by hiring a van and getting friends and family in to help. But a friend had recommended using Movecorp and we were so glad that we did!
Knowing a house move to be a highly stressful experience, we decided to pay the extra and get the professionals in.
Sophie in the office was very professional and explained everything from start to finish, arranging the survey, quote and delivery crew. On the day of the move, the delivery men were on time and were well presented and friendly. They arrived in a truck larger than required, which allowed for all our belongings to be comfortably packed and secured. Once at the new property, the crew were happy to place all items where ever we wanted them .. including the shed and into our loft (will only do this if boarded and lit).
Unfortunately we had damage to one item which was a bedside glass lamp. After informing Sophie about the damage and providing Pics, she arranged to send out a Gift Card (for the retailer we had bought it from) within a couple days (very impressive) which allowed us to purchase a replacement straight away.
Overall we were very satisfied with how it all went start to finish. Movecorp definitely took the stress out of the day for us. And I'm certain things wouldn't have gone as smooth had we undertook the move ourselves. We will certainly recommend to friends and family. Thank you Movecorp for all your help.

  10. Damages are not compensated!!

We moved from Germany to Florida USA with this company.
We got open boxes with missing items, furniture's were totally damaged. But despite having an extra insurance we did not get compensated for the loss. Not even on cent was granted. Guess they know that taking it to court is very expensive and time consuming, so hardly someone would do it. So they just disregard the rights of customers. Very disappointing! Not recommended!

  11. MoveCorps Will Rob You In Every Way Possible.

(Moved from the UK to the San Jose, CA in the US, drop downs won't let you select US) I moved using MoveCorp from the UK back to the US in June of 2015. I have never been lied to more, from start to finish. First the estimate went up from the original 490 cubic feet to 550 cubic feet but the final shipping documents show that only 427 cubic feet were shipped. I paid and extra 340 GBP and a total of 3135 GBP for my goods to be shipped. The increase seemed reasonable at the time but clearly they lied and ripped me off for more the very start. They promised me in an email that they would ship my goods within 2 weeks of collection from my home in the UK, it took more than 100 days before they even put my goods on a ship to be shipped to the US. It took a full 146 days for us to receive our goods. When our goods arrived, boxes were missing and my wife's jewelry box was missing. She watched them pack it and noted that some of the items that it was packed with arrived but the jewelry box was not in the box. That's right, they robbed us. There is no other way to put it, they are the only ones that knew which box the jewelry box was in, and they simply opened the box, stole it and re-sealed the box. It was never even documented on the shipping docs so no one else would have even known to look for it. There were lots of other items missing including all of our pots and pans. There were lots of damaged items as well. These guys are the worst in every way possible. If you read the reviews here you will see this is a pattern. This company is a fraud, they will do the worst things and treat you like you don't matter once they take your goods. If they have stolen from you please report them to the police. I have and the police are on to them, there should be some arrests in store for them.

  12. Terrible Service!

Avoid this company like the plague!! It took 6 months to receive our items after being promised an 8-10 week delivery. Initially 6 out of 7 boxes were LOST, only to be found 5 months later in their warehouse. When they finally arrived, the boxes were trashed, items broken and missing/stolen. I contacted them regarding our broken/missing items only to now be ignored!! This is NOT OK. This company is just awful. Do not use them!!

  13. Move Corp - bad service.

    Hi,

Used Move Corp for a overseas move of our home. They did not have the agreed boxes when they arrived, so they had to improvise with packaging valuable items. They managed to lost several items and the insurance that they provided (Basil Fry and Co) have no interest to honor their obligation.

Since they have handed over the dialogue to a Removal Claim Service and the approach is similar.

A very frustrating experience and sadly describes a behavior that now will be expected going forward. Overall a really bad company. Carl.

  14. Karen.

From collecting our property to delivery the standard of service was disgusting, we were advised that the boxes we packed had to be repacked by them at a cost or we had to sign a disclaimer, (we had moved to temporary accommodation and the previous removal company had no problem we had never unpacked). our goods arrived damaged a dining table only had "one" leg and other larger items were damaged beyond repair, we were informed it was our fault as WE did not pack them correctly! they actually packed the larger items.
we had been advised by the company to take out insurance to cover damages then have had to fight for 4 months to get any compensation and had to pay both ours and Movecorps excess on the insurance and received nothing near the value of the goods, I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone there was no respect shown to our goods or ourselves. moving is a stressful time without having neglect from the removal company!!

  15. "lost" 3 of 23 boxes.

I shipped 23 boxes of household goods with Schumacher from the US to the UK, Movecorp were their agents in the UK. They took several weeks longer than planned, charged me for extra checks and services not in the original quote twice and then lost three of my very large wardrobe boxes. Movecorp noticed the three boxes were missing two weeks before scheduled delivery to me and did not notify me. On the day of scheduled delivery they first sent out the wrong van and then only notified me, with a chuckle from the staff member, that three were missing. At the time of writing (three weeks later) they are still lost.
