  1. Horrible.

Most horrible and unethical moving company I know. Did not show up at all! Our client has a spinal cord injury.. cannot move himself (literally) or his property. They said they would make it right and would move him for free the next morning.. did not show up. Do not do busy with them. They haven't refund his deposit either. They are horrible and they will not show up. They keeping saying the paid another company at their own expense to do it, but that company "did not show up" and therefore they had no expense. They also keep saying the refunded deposit, but its not showing as a pending transaction in customer account.

  2. Their cancellation policy is deceptive and dishonest. DO NOT USE THEM.

Their cancellation policy is deceptive and dishonest. DO NOT USE THEM. I no longer needed their services well over a month before the move date, they refused to refund a 25% deposit. When I setup the move they NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT the deposit being NON refundable. VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICE. USE ANOTHER COMPANY.

  3. Awful, Awful Experience.

If I could give negative five stars, I would. I hired the company because I respect that they supposedly hire veterans, but this was not the case for my move at least. I paid $400 for a small one bedroom move of fifteen miles, where I had everything packed and boxes stacked together. They were over an hour late, even though I was the first move of the day, and their response was that "they just got a late start on the day." It was two kids, probably smaller than me (and I'm a 5'6, 115 lbs female). My boyfriend was just supposed to oversee the move, but he ended up doing the entire move. The kids had no idea what they were doing and could barely lift a box. I showed up four hours in to the move and my boyfriend was the one lifting the heavy boxes, while one kid pushed a box on a dolly and the other walked behind him. I started carrying boxes in my work clothes and moved faster carrying heavier boxes than either of the kids. I requested to speak to the owner or a manager, but still haven't heard back from anyone. After having unpacked now, some of my stuff is broken as well. It was God awful, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

  4. Storage & Moving.

Wishing that Special Ops movers had not misplaced my marble stand, my 5 shelf glass hutch, my 2 glass end tables, my treadmill, my floor lamp, my 2 step stools, my boxing bag, my desk chair, my grandsons train table, my mothers oak table top, my grandsons pool blowups, my grandsons baseball equipment & basketballs from the Nuggets & soccer ball & nerf guns & other outside toys, & I know but can't yet confirm all of the XMAS décor & Halloween décor in plastic tubs! I'm sure that when I have finished unpacking the list will be a lot longer. How incompetent can a company be & still be in business!! Also, we have several boxes & other items that belong to other people & Special Ops doesn't care!!

  5. How are they still in business?

This outfit is a joke. I spent two evenings waiting for them only to be given excuses both times. I have been passed around from one 'Manager' to another about getting my deposit refunded. I left another message tonight.
These fools like to align themselves with the military .The military is a fine organization that gets things done. These folks are the opposite. Leslie or Tanya will gladly book your "appointment" but if you ask for a refund, all the sudden they can't do that.
Don't book with with them unless you want to throw away time and money.
A quarter of a star is too much a rating for them.

  6. May 2018.

One star is being much too generous. Unprofessional, and far from "Special" in any way! Late, broken, damaged, no communication or returned calls- all the lovely things I am reading now and wish I had paid closer attention to. This Denver office is sketchy to say the least. My card was charged after I refused to pay with no communication whatsoever. Absolutely the worst possible scenario from beginning to end.

  7. Top 5 WORST Movers I Have Ever Used.

    Brief history:
My wife and I move 90% of all the boxes and small items prior to the movers showing up. The movers only needed to move the furniture in the 2 bedroom, study, and half the furniture in the living room. In addition to the furniture, there were a few boxes downstairs, a patio table, and a few items in the garage.

The company failed to arrive on the moving day. Arrived 2.5 hours late the next day. Sent 1 mover and 1 kid that was in training. The took 10 hours to move my items approximately 15 miles up the road, and lost most of the screws to by beds.

I could go on, but the general theme behind my review is that the company as a whole is incompetent.

    Stay away from these guys.

  8. Buyer beware.

Special ops moving company is fraudulent. They arrived five hours late for the move, sent movers that were incapable of completing the task. They were highly untrained and uneducated on how to move heavy items. They sent me a three “man”crew that can consisted of two new scrawny guys and a small girl that reported that she would not lift anything heavy. It took them over six hours to complete a task that has taken 2 to 3 every other time we have moved. They demolished our kitchen table, all of our banisters in both houses and multiple floorboards as well as large gashes in the doors and flooring. Every single piece of furniture had multiple gouges/scratches in them. They did not finish the job and when they got to our final destination they moved a couple items into the house and then drop the rest in the garage and on the driveway. They did not check out with me. I spoke to the manager Leo and Mike many times throughout the day and they were very unhelpful. They only moved 25 items and it took them over 6 1/2 hours and charge me over $1000. They also stole our pushbroom as well as our kitchen broom.

  9. Stay Far Far Away!

If I could give negative stars, I would. This company was an absolute JOKE and they should be investigated.
We hired Special Ops to move us out of our home in Aurora, store our belongings for a 3 week period and then move us into our new home in Northern Colorado. It wasn't until our move into our home that we experienced the nightmare that was Special Oops (I mean Ops).
I called the day before out move to confirm that everything was on track. Leslie confirmed with me that we were scheduled for a 5/11 delivery with a 3pm-5pm window. She mentioned that they would begin loading their truck with our belongings at 8am and then be on their way. Again, she confirmed all dates and times.
On 5/11 (our scheduled moved date) at 4:30pm I had not heard from anyone. I attempted to call. No answer. I tried multiple times with no answer. I was hoping to get an ETA and give more specific directions into the development as our home is not searchable on GPS due to it being new construction. I finally got in touch with "dispatch" around 5pm. He told me when he left the warehouse a couple of hours prior they were still loading my stuff and that "Mike the warehouse manager" would call me in about 15 minutes and if I didn't hear from him, call back. 30 minutes or so later I still hadn't heard from him so I called back. No answer.
Mike finally called me and was rather flippant and snarky. He said they didn't start loading the truck until 11am. When I questioned why as Leslie had informed me the loading would begin at 8am he said "well it was close". Um, how is a 3 hour gap considered "close"?! He then became defensive and implied it was our fault because we "have a lot of stuff". If I'm not mistaken, you KNEW how much stuff I had well ahead of time. After all, you DID move it into your pods?? He then said they would be there at 8pm and "not to blow up his phone".
8pm rolls around and still no sign of them. No phone calls, texts, no movers. I try and call. No response. I try texting. Nothing back. He finally responds around 8:30pm to tell me they just finished loading the last pod and that he would call me in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later, nothing. No call, no text, radio silence. We try to call. No answer.
We had to call repeatedly (16 times to be exact) to get him to answer the phone. While I do understand there are safety protocols in place while they guys are on lifts making them unable to answer phones, this was completely unacceptably. We received absolutely no communication from these guys on delays, status. We felt like we were being extorted with our own belongings.
When Mike finally answered the phone he began cussing out my husband calling him a "p*ssy a** faggot" and asking him if he wanted to come down to the warehouse to "take care of things". He also threatened to show up the next day (implying there would be some sort of physical altercation). He was yelling at us for calling him over and over. Unfortunately, that was the only way we could get a response out of these people. It was like they were holding our items hostage. We finally got out of him that they would be at our home at 9am the next day.
On 5/12 at 9am there was no sight of the movers (surprise). I ended up texting Mike and apologizing for the night before. I felt completely ridiculous for doing so as I am the one who should receive an apology but at this point I was willing to do/say anything to get our stuff! I also asked for their ETA. No response. It wasn't until my husband sent him a text stating that if we didn't hear back from them, we would have to get law enforcement involved that I heard back. Mike thanked me for apologizing saying that it was a long night (he never apologized to me or acknowledged that he was out of line) and said the movers were fueling and in route.
At 11:30am they finally show up. When they opened the truck, it looked as though our belongings were just tossed and crammed in there. It was a mess. There was water dripping from the ceiling of the truck, a busted door that was practically rotting. It's a wonder our stuff didn't fall out on the highway on their way up! Boxes marked FRAGILE were crushed, lamps were bent, electrical cords were severed. However, that's minimal to what else we found-
They broke all 3 of our TV's. One of them has evidence of water damage and a drop. They broke an antique clock from the late 1800's. Glass completely shattered out of it and the wood broken on the back. All of the pieces on this clock were original (including the glass). This is irreplaceable. I have a 30 year old rocking horse that my grandfather made that they broke the foot off of.
It was clear that absolutely no consideration was taken when dealing with our items. We are not sure if items were broken out of retaliation or if it was just a complete lack of care/concern. To be treated in the manner that we were was inexcusable. To be called names, sworn at and yelled at was not appropriate or professional. All we wanted was communication and no one could give us that. It is a terrifying feeling to have EVERYTHING YOU OWN in someone else’s possession and not be able to get ahold of anyone. I feel if I wouldn’t have called repeatedly to FINALLY get someone on the line, no one would have called me to let me know of any delays.

  10. Excellent move.

Have used them three times now. Always very efficient, courteous and careful with my furniture. When they packed my things last year for storage, everything was wrapped carefully so nothing was scratched. Then this year when I moved they unwrapped and placed things exactly where I wanted them. Would recommend them highly!

  11. Good job.

Just recently moved with Special ops & I want to recommend them because they did an awesome job. I moved 3 times in my life & out of the 3 moving companies I used they were the best!! I used them despite some of the reviews even though I was skeptical. Anyway I went with them after I met the guy who came to give me an estimate & I felt comfortable with them. thumbs up for these movers. Great job!

  12. Stay Away.

The Denver location should be investigated and someone should be arrested!! They have lost and damaged the majority of my parents belongings. Everything smelled like weed, box’s were opened and rummaged through. My parents just retired and moved to Arizona, Specia Op’s were supposed to deliver to her on Friday morning, after several phone calls, someone finally called her back stating there were “mechanical problems,” will be there Saturday morning, Saturday morning came and went, this time no one returned a phone call!! Saturday night they showed up, missing over half their belongings, and the mover informed us they didn’t even load the truck until 11:30 Friday night!! There were no “Mechanical problems”! After being told her belongings would be in a pod until ready to move, their stuff was just thrown in a wearhouse they didn’t know who’s stuff was who’s!! (From the movers) They load up guessing what might belong to that person!! The items that did arrive were severely damaged!! My moms 80 year old table and buffet were scratch very badly, chairs were broken, dresser looks like someone punched a whole through it! They say they are “vetren” friendly, my dad is a vet, my parents are senior citizens, and this is how they treat them?! They won’t return a phone call!! The “owner” Leo is rude, unprofessional, and aggressive! Scheduled a meeting with them for 5:30 pm He finally showed up 47 minuets late! All I can say is god I had a police officer with me, I couldn’t imagine his behavior if the officer wasn’t there. I felt very threatened! If you value your belongings don’t use this company!! Read their reviews and look at the over 40 complaints filed with the BBB!! Stay away, far away!!

  13. Move went well.

We had an excellent moving experience with Special ops.The team came in time, they were very professional and efficient, and worked very hard to finish everything earlier than expected. thank You!

  14. You would be better off moving yourself.

I had a window from 12pm to 2pm. At 1:34pm, I received a call from Richard, who said he was on his way from Denver (my apartment is half an hour from Denver) and would knock my move out in an hour. At 3pm, he still had not arrived, so I called to see where he was. He said he had gotten caught up in paperwork and would be leaving soon. When I asked when he expected to be at my apartment, he said half an hour. He told me not to worry; he would be done in an hour (which was essentially a moot point, since I had expected him no later than 2pm). He FINALLY arrived at 4pm, two hours after my window. While I understand a window is an estimate, I expect lateness to be due to unforeseen circumstances, not someone choosing to do paperwork instead of completing a scheduled move.

When he arrived, I was not home. He called me to tell me he was by my pod (he was to be moving my items from my apartment into the pod), and I told him I wasn't home but would send my husband out. Richard replied, “I just wanted to let you know I was here.” Unsure of what he wanted me to do, I told him he could go up to my apartment, as someone was there. He then told me I didn’t have to be rude; he just wanted to meet me and was by my pod. I said, “I understand you are by the pod. I am not home, but my husband is. I will have him come right out.”

When my husband went out, Richard immediately told him how “rude" I was, calling me a bi**, and my husband replied I was frustrated because he arrived TWO HOURS after he said he would. Richard said not everything needs to be planned. Really? I am pretty sure a move does need to be planned, and when someone says they are going to be somewhere at a certain time, that is what is expected. He then told my husband he hopes we don’t have kids, because we clearly can’t go with the flow. When my husband mentioned we are currently expecting our first child, Richard replied that it was unfortunate! Side note - Though Richard arrived at 4pm, he couldn’t start the move then, because he had two kids in his backseat and was waiting for his wife to get them.

Once the move finally began, it didn’t get better. Richard said the f-word at least twenty times, oftentimes yelling it. Gage, the 15 year old he brought with him to help, dropped SEVERAL of my boxes and never apologized or offered to check if anything was broken. I was going to purchase furniture pads, which I was told was an option when scheduling my move, but Richard arrived in his personal car with only plastic wrap (which he ran out of), so I was not able to. He told me multiple times he understood why I was grumpy (because I was pregnant, not because he was two hours late and then INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional). He kept talking about what an outstanding mover he was and how lucky we were to have him and his 30 years of experience, which couldn’t have been more ironic. He took at least four personal phone calls while he was on the clock with us. I had a desk, which was moved into my apartment with no problem, and he was unable to get it out. He got so upset at the situation that, after yelling fuc* and shi* repeatedly, he took a hammer to it. Luckily, I wanted the desk to be put by the dumpster, but it made me wonder what he would have done had I needed the item put in my pod.

When it was time to pay, my husband tipped each mover $10, which I thought was exceedingly generous given the circumstances, and Richard complained it wasn’t enough! From start to finish, this move was the worst experience possible. It should have been simple and straightforward - he and Gage literally just had to walk our things down a sidewalk and into a pod - but Richard made it miserable. He was rude, unprofessional, offensive, and did not come prepared. He could not have provided worse customer service. Also, the move lasted over two hours, in spite of Richard's repeated assurances that he would get it done in one. Lastly, I called the company's "customer service" department, and they aren't much better than Richard - I was told I would get a call back and still have not heard anything. I chose this company because of their emphasis on supporting the military (bother of my brothers are currently serving), but neither of my movers was a veteran (or professional, for that matter). In fact, when my husband asked Richard about his service, Richard scoffed and replied, "Why the fuc* would anyone join the military?".

  15. Terrible, horrible and destructive to our cherished home contents.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY - you will be sorely tested! HORRIBLE! This is not a joke, and not exaggerated. I have read the review guidelines. Even this review site is not reliable - there is no way for me to check off 'damaged, stained, broken, on the right hand side of the review. I am trying to save some other unsuspecting victim from using this company. We are devastated with the outcome to our home items. Over half of our items are ruined with stains, grease, deep scratches on wood items,,,, and the service was awful. Disrespectful delivery men. Passive-aggressive behavior with setting the delivery date and time at all. The first day, we waited in vain for 8 hours for our delivery, after paying them upfront for the move-in, and upfront for storage. They NEVER CAME to deliver, would NOT return telephone messages or texts. Then, they claimed we had not signed the requisite form for delivery, even though they had e-mailed it months prior, it was incorrect, and NOT updated to the new correct delivery address. This took over 40 telephone calls, texts, and e-mails TRYING to get them to give us another delivery date. Leslie was the ONLY person there that helped us, or we likely would STILL not have our home contents. For the re-try/re-schedule delivery date: When we waited for 7.5 hours - all day with two small children hoping to see their cherished items that had been in storage - they were meant to arrive in a 11:00 - 1:00 'window', , they would NOT call us with check-in to see where they were, and they FINALLY arrived at 7:00 p.m., had the contents jumbled and tangled in the back of the truck , nothing was protected, or wrapped, the dining table top was dropped onto the new hardwood floor, our child's small couch, a cherished memory of the nursery, had huge grease stains on it, another small couch was mashed and misshapen and the pillows used to hold up items on the FLOOR BED of the truck itself. almost all of our contents are ruined. TERRIBLE HORRIBLE treatment from everyone in the company we spoke with, (except Leslie) to the very mean and 'punishing' storage and delivery men. DO NOT USE! Pictures availalabe upon request!! NOT EVEN ONE STAR IS EARNED. UNPROFESSIONAL. UNRELIABLE.
