Undefinable!
Overdue review. I used Standard Van Lines last year and had a fantastic experience with their service. The movers showed up in time and were on top of it. They were quick, friendly, and careful with furniture. The total came out accurate to what the initial estimate is. Highly recommended if you need help moving to the city. These guys were fantastic.
Misleading
I spoke with Vince and got everything set up. He sent me several contracts that I wouldn't sign or do anything with until I had a price I was comfortable with paying. I got the contract, signed it for the correct price and and knew the moving date was on the 30th of September as we closed on our house on October 1st and had to give immediate possession to the new owners. I reiterated this multiple times to Vince that we had to be out on the 30th of September, no ifs, ands or buts. Spoke with a manager who tried to jack.up my price prior to pick up and move day and confirmed the 30th as the move day. Then on the 30th I called tonfind out when the truck would be here and they said oh it wont be there until tomorrow the 1st. I said that isnt what I agreed to. Shawn said well you signed the contract and since you did that there is nothing we can do as there is a 2 day window and they will be there tomorrow honoring the contract you signed. I asked to speak with a manager and was on hold for about 10 minutes. A woman gets on the phone and says give just a moment to get your file up. Waited on hold about another 5 minutes before I think her name was Sara got on the phone. She told me why would you sign the contract without reading it and since you did they will be there tomorrow on the 1st like the contract states. I said this not what I agreed to as Instated I had to be out on the 30th of September so why would I ever agree to a date after then if I stated over and over Inhave to be out by the 30th no later. Sara said well you signed it and it is a binding contract and its not there fault that I signed it. I asked to speak with someone above her and she said there is no one above her other than the CEO/President. I asked to speak with them and she said who do you know that would get them on the phone with you. She said if you had a problem with walmart are you going to talk with Mr. Walton and I said no because he is dead. She said well what about the owner and said no they will not get on the phone. She is the highest I can speak with and until Incalm down and talk to her like an adult not a 2nd grader she was going to note the account and hung up on me. I called back but they forwarded me to voicemail every time. I called Vince to gigure out how he could put the 1st when I precisely stated I have to be out by the 30th but he would not answer the phone and it went to voicemail. I hung up and called back and low and behold this same sara answered and what can I do for you Mr. R****, as I stated you signed a contract and that is it and they will glbe there tomorrow. I said you all mislead me and connived me to sign your contract and and changed the date from the 30th to the 1st. She said no one did that and we cant help that you cant read. She then stated Ryan to whom I never spoke with is who transferred me to her which is false I never spoke with a Ryan, Inspokenwith a Shawn. She said well mow your lying as he is 5ft from me and said he is who sent you to me. I said you full of S**t as I never spoke with a Ryan only a Shawn. She said well I can see how thisnis going to go and said yes your right as she kept trying to talk over me and interrupt me trying prove my point. Very sad customer service. I would recommend just renting a Uhaul and doing it yourself as it is a whole lot cheaper and you can take care of your own stuff as these people do not care about you or your property. A few minutes later Sara called back and said I just need to know if we are still moving you or not and if I should cancel the movers. I said obviously I paid the down payment and need them now so yes they are going to move me. Since you all screwed me over on the day I dont have a choice but to wait until tomorrow now do I and then I hung up. I would highly recommend doing you due diligence and reading reviews and checking backgrounds on all the companies your thinking about using but one thing is for sure it is cheaper to do it yourself using Uhaul or something like that even though it can be grueling and back breaking work it migh. e better. All these companies care about is money and screwing people over. I will be aasking for a refund or discount as they have totally screwed up my move and my closing on my house. Please read and check out companies before signing anything and make sure you reciew and check pricing and dates before signing.
No Complaints
I had a great experience with Standard Van Lines. They were rock stars hauling all my stuff up to a 3-story walk-up on a hot day. Very respectful of belongings, nothing was damaged. I would definitely use them again!
Move from Las Vegas to West Hollywood
This is a brokerage company (middle man). Their agents who answer the phone and you deal with are liars. They say anything to get your deposit and keep you from looking any further. Better to just go straight to the moving company to alleviate 'surprise' extra costs.
Please Don't Make the Same Mistake I Did
I gave Standard Van Lines a $5440 Deposit on 8/26/2021 @ 1:54 PM based on their quote 6569281 and the promises from Michael Allen. After doing a little research with other movers and the fact none of them required a deposit I called to cancel at 3PM the same day because my gut said something wasnt right. At that point Kevin talked me into staying with them telling me stories about the NFL and celebrities they move. Next day 8/27/2021 it still didnt feel right so I talked with Kevin again and cancelled at 3:59 PM. By 4:26 PM after several back and forth emails Kevin agreed to cancel. this was 26 hours after setting up the move so well within the 72 hours window. I have since contacted the company 5 times within the last 4 weeks to get my refund with excuse after excuse. Now the billing department wont answer or return calls. I have tried everything possible to work with Standard and give them a chance to make this right with no avail. If they want to be a stand up company and process the refund I would be more than happy to delete this review but until then let this be a warning to all of you planning to use Standard Van lines.

No moving company has my heart. I am thrilled that they all handled this move amazingly for us. I highly recommend looking into using them if you are moving. I am so happy, and I must admit that I will be calling again in the future. Thanks, guys!!
Well done
All in all, although their bid was higher than others, the final price was more than competitive and well below the not-to-exceed price. There ain't no reason for me to not like them and would not consider them to any of the future movie. I recommend the movers highly.
Worst moving experience I've ever had.
I cannot caution you enough if you're about to hire this company. They are awful. The actual movers are subcontracted and the communication is next to nothing. My movers rescheduled FOUR TIMES and then tried to show up at 10PM at my apartment complex. The customer service woman who "helped" me was atrocious. She was highly argumentative and raised her voice to me the whole time. When I asked her to stop yelling at me she said, "Ma'm I could show you what yelling sounds like but I won't". I'm disgusted by this company and wish they'd be put out of business so no one else has to go through what I did. They are not refunding my $2k deposit, even though I was never moved. Please do not hire them for your own good.
NOT HELPFUL - DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL
Such a horrible experience. When you provide inventory list, be very cautious and provide them each and every item that you want to move. And if they provide any discount, be careful to check the inventory list. They removed few items and showed a reduced cost which I didn't notice while signing. But later after a month another person called and asked for complete list of inventory. They revised the cost and additional 800$ they showed extra. They charge for per cubic sq ft as well as moving charge for any additional items later. Their sales team is trained so that you trust them and book the move. BLINDLY IGNORE AND GO WITH ANY OTHER MOVERS IN THE WORLD.

We had a one-bedroom apt, standard living room/dining room/bedroom furniture, and they were done in about 4 hrs. (With a short lunch break, they do not add to the hours worked). Great friendly movers, would absolutely recommend them.

Fraud and Scamsters
Horrible experience, Fake and shady company. Don't book them their sales team is trained so that you trust them and book the move. Everything goes downhill after that. Save yourselves and do not deal with this company in any manner.
Well Done
Lucien and his team were fantastic and professional. They were exceptional with my furniture and made me feel safe in their care. I highly recommend this team - moving to the city would have been a nightmare without them!
