  1. Do Not Trust These People.

    I just googled this company to see if they were still
    In business because I figured for sure they were not, but I was surprised! They tried to scam my mom when she moved to Florida 2 years ago. She signed the contact, they arrived a day late, and then after loading all of her belongings into the truck forced her to sign a contract for double to price. We finally got her belongings back for the initial agreed upon price after contacting a federal investigator who deals with moving fraud. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! All of the positive reviews must be fake, since everyone else seems to have the same experience with them.

  2. Horrible Movers.

    They broke up all my furniture and half of my items are missing. And people they had five fired at my personal information so they wasn't even supposed to come to my home to move me and they were fired a week or two before my move this is a bad company. And when I asked for my $770 back the owner disrespected me call me out of my name and told me I would get nothing backr.

  3. Criminal Company.

    I moved from Philly to Las Vegas last year. They quote a low price, then they doubled my price on pick up. DOUBLED. Of course they made me sign the paperwork before they wrote in the final price tag. Then we didnā€™t have our stuff for 2 months! I canā€™t believe these criminals havenā€™t been shutdown yet.

  4. Superior Moving Systems Inc.

    My nightmare with Superior Moving Systems of Wayne, NJ, began when they performed a phone estimate with a commitment of confirming this estimate before my move. The estimate for my small one bedroom apartment was $2777.82 for 18 items, 49 pieces including full pack with material, fuel surcharge, stairs, and a small ā€œmanager's discountā€. There was a verbal commitment to packing and unpacking at that time. The promised estimate confirmation call was never received, even after I called numerous times. Throughout my experience with Superior, I nearly never received a phone call back when I left a message.

    As my moving date approached, Superior made a verbal commitment to pick up my load on 03/14, but didn't show up until late on 03/16, not finishing loading until after midnight 03/17. Upon arrival, Superior claimed that items were more numerous than originally estimated and informed me that it was a $6,000-$9,000 move instead of the estimated total of $2777.82. When I told them I didn't even have that much money, Superior proceeded to make me choose between paying the $6-9k or leaving items behind and paying an increased price of $4561.25. Because I had to be out of my apartment by a certain time and had to sign the lease for my new apartment out of state, I felt I was at their mercy. I then had a long, agonizing conversation with the driver- in which I had to indicate very specifically which of my needed items could be left behind- including a desk and chair, side table, sofa table, bench, and a few pictures. After they loaded and left, it was discovered that numerous other essential items not discussed were also left behind- including all 3 trash cans, an 8-volume Bible commentary set, 3 keepsake Bibles, a collection of books, a nightstand that was part of a bedroom set (along with things in the nightstand), and 3 additional pieces of wall art.

    I then received a verbal commitment from Superior that they would call me by 5 p.m. on 03/17 with my delivery time. I received no call for three days. Finally, a friend of mine became concerned and called Superior on my behalf. This friend was treated very poorly, and Superior committed to deliver my load on 03/19. I also had a verbal commitment that it was on its way. In a subsequent phone call, I was then told that the owner of Superior ā€œwanted the truck for something personalā€, so my personal property was offloaded into a storage container and I would receive my things between 03/21 and 03/23. Once again, when I called to get an update, I was assured it was in transit. My shipment did not show up on those dates.

    My property was finally delivered on 03/27, 11 days after pickup. The driver had an inventory check off sheet that included only 29 items total (as opposed to original estimate of 18 items and 49 pieces). There was no copy for me to retain for my records, although I was able to take a picture of the Bill of Lading. Despite my having paid for the service, the movers would not unpack my boxes. After they left, upon unpacking, I found clothing dumped into boxes with dishes on top (instead of clothing on wardrobe hangers), more items missing completely (including irreplaceable family pictures), expensive lamps in a box with no padding and table legs on top, broken dishes, a broken lamp, and a broken antique glass book end from Scotland. There was no way of telling these things were broken before the movers left, since they would not unpack.

    The BBB has at least 56 complaints against these scammers, but nothing seems to have been done about it.

    The only final payment they would accept was a postal money order, so I have no recourse for the extra amount they charged. I do not appreciate the bait and switch scam they have pulled on an elderly veteran.

  5. Very Bad Experience.

    I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a long distance mover if you are considering Superior Moving Systems (DOT# 2323030). My wife and I have done 3 long distance moves in the last 15 years and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had.

    The quoting system they use is in my opinion is deceptive at best. We were initially quoted one price based on an inventory list that we had to complete. The price we had to pay in the end was more than double what we were initially quoted. They base their price on an estimate of weight as many of these companies do. We were told the bad news about the upcharge after they had loaded all of our stuff on the truck. We had sold our house and were closing the next day so at this point we had to get out and all of our belongings were on their truck so there is no negotiation, you are held hostage and have to pay. In hind sight, I also had a local company come out and do a physical inventory and quote, man do I wish we had gone with them it would have been significantly less expensive in the end.

    When I initially went through the quote with Mike Morris our sales guy he told me that this would not be a shared move because we had enough stuff to fill their truck and that it would not be brokered out. I was also quoted that our stuff would be delivered within 48hrs of our request. When we initially called to setup the delivery date they would not quote one and told me that they would contact us within a 2 week timeframe to provide the date. After a week I called and asked to speak with a service manager (Andrew) and he proceeded to tell me that this was indeed a shared move and they would deliver our stuff when they had more going to a similar location. Our belongings were delivered 3 weeks after our request date by a broker, not by Superior Moving Systems and much of our furniture was damaged. (Keep in mind that I have an email chain to attest to everything that I am quoting here and the thing that is very important to note, you will be required to sign a contract that will null and void almost everything that they put in their written quote only after they load all of your stuff on their truck on moving day.) In the moving process you the customer do not have much room to negotiate or resolve issues whence you have committed to a company because home sale closings and such are committed by date and the moving company is well aware they have the upper hand on moving day.

    My wife took pictures of all of the damaged items and filled out all of the required claim forms, she sent them via email and she was told that it would take up to 120 days to process our claim, we are now at 150+ days and they are not returning our calls or emails. When you call, the sales department picks up on the 1st couple rings, the service department goes straight to voicemail and no one ever returns your call.

    I am writing this review to hopefully save someone else from a very stressful, horrible moving experience. We are now in the process of making formal complaints to the DOT and BBB.

  6. Moving.

    My time with Superior Moving Systems has been nothing short of amazing! My family and I were very stressed and unorganized when it came time to pack and move everything across the country, but the team that came to help us were so nice and professional. They went above and beyond with their efforts! They were friendly and made sure that everything was packed and would not be damaged in the move and that we were satisfied with the work they did. When we finally arrived at our new home and began the unpacking process, we were pleased to see that there was not a single scratch or ding on any of our belongings. Would definitely recommend for anyone going through a long distance move!

  7. Moving.

    Long distance moving can be very inconvenient, especially when you have a lot of belongings. I don't regret contacting Superior Moving Systems for their services, they showed great professionalism from beginning to end. All my items arrived safely at the designed location without any damage. I highly recommend this company for your moving needs as they will deliver in a timely manner and keep you stress free.

    I put down deposit n cancelled bc they changed my price last minuteā€¦ I called several times for my refund and wasn't able to get anyone. Horrible experience theyse are brokersā€¦ facilities everywhere including chicago.

  9. Excellent Service.

    My moving experience with Superior Moving Systems could not have gone any better. We were nervous about the move and taking all our belongings across state lines but I don't have any complaints with the services we received.

    I received a job offer in Boston right before Thanksgiving and had just three weeks to find someone dependable to cart all of our stuff from Central Florida to Massachusetts. I was very nervous with being so close to the holidays that finding someone to help us out was going to be an issue. Luckily we found these guys.

    The moving team showed up right on time and ready to go the morning of the move. The crew loaded the truck with care and made sure that all of our boxes and furniture were secure and safe. It was important that everything was treated carefully as we were moving a lot of delicate items and some antique furniture.

    After hauling all our stuff from Orlando, FL to Boston, MA our items were unloaded with just as much care and caution as they received when being loaded. Furniture and boxes were placed in the correct rooms in a delicate and orderly fashion, insuring no dings or scuffs on our new walls.

    Working with Superior Moving Systems was a dream. I am so glad my wife and I trusted them with our possessions. All of our items showed up without a scratch or a scuff. If you are looking for someone to help you out with your move I definitely suggest these guys.

  10. Worst moving company- BEWARE!!

    Jake, my first point of contact, conned me into signing up with his company by giving me competitive rates, and assured our belongings would reach us within a couple of days of pick up. My girlfriend and I were moving from NJ to GA ( Sept 26-27). I specifically told Jake I needed to move a one bedroom apartment, approximately 35- 40 boxes, dining table w/ chairs, mattress, and 2 coffee tables, and one book self. Initial estimate was $1400, as he suggested 300 cubic square feet. I had no idea what that meant and he assured me it should fit with the items I mentioned. I put down a deposit of around $500 which later learned was non-refundable. I had booked this a month before our move, and was told by Jake he would be my point of contact until the end and "I am here for you". A week before my move now, and I haven't heard back from Jake, and I needed to move my date to a few days earlier. I called Superior Moving and was rudely answered by someone, nether-the-less he moved my date to Sept 24-25. I had to call over 4x 2 days before my big move to get a confirmation for Sunday, Sept 24on a Sunday.

    Sunday, driver shows up at 10:55am, he shows me the "cubic sq ft" in the truck. The 300 cubic sq ft Jake reserved for us was joke! By the time everything was loaded driver calculated 800 cubic sq ft!! My bill went from $1400 to $3000! I would have been better off getting a uhaul and hire some helpers and come out about half of that price. In addition, I was charged $80 for extra empty boxes, totaling $225.

    Long story short, we ended up paying $2987, but were charged initially way less. Once the security deposit was paid we had NO CHOICE but to go with this company, as deposit was non refundable ( we paid $500 deposit).

    WORST COMPANY - If this review can help ONE person I will see its worth. I don't usually write reviews, but I could not let others suffer as I had.

    PS - Alos, out household items were mishandled, damaged, broke, boxes were open/busted. NO CARE of our belongings.

  11. They are Crooks.

    Whatever they tell you to get you to sign up do not believe it they are going to increase the price or threaten you that you're going to lose your deposit number to move they're going to come and take your stuff somewhere in New Jersey and put it in a storage and then increase the price and you have no choice but to agree to whatever they tell you because you need your stuff I took my stuff one month to get to me and they increase the price $3,000 more than what they told me do not sign with this people do not do business with this people at all.

  12. Contract Not Honored.

    I agreed to pay a $600 deposit to reserve a move with Superior under the condition that they add a 72 hour period in which I could cancel and receive a full refund of that deposit. I had the salesperson add this in writing to the actual contract to make sure this agreement was captured. I canceled within the 72 hour window, but Superior has refused to refund my initial deposit. This was over a month ago, and a representative told me today (after the third or fourth time I called them) that no refund would be given. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I'd recommend anyone who has had a similar issue due the same.

  13. Bait and Switch!

    Bait and switch!! Beware! I'm active duty military and needed our items to be moved from our storage unit to Pensacola. They quote you much cheaper than competitors then show up and tell you that you have too many items and they have to repack them and you need to pay them $4000 more. When you tell them no and that's not what you were quoted, they tell you "oh well" and keep your $700 deposit. I think they've rated themselves high on a few sites. Don't fall for them. They're not accredited and have multiple complaints out. Working with base legal to get them blacklisted for other military families! Learn from our misfortune!!

  14. Scam.

    Be careful, this company is a scam and operates under several names, most of them containing the word "superior". All these "companies" have different addresses in different states. Be kind to yourself, and avoid this headache.

  15. Follow up to my review.

    I finally received my furniture yesterday and to say the least it was a nightmare. After I found out that my furniture was loaded and unloaded 4 times by three different vendors I knew what condition it was going to be in. To say the least it was a nightmare. Almost every piece of furniture was scratched or damaged. And missing boxes. The claim will exceed the cost of this move! Beware of this company. They should not be in business!
