  1. Our recent move.

We used a local company here in Illinois called Two men and a truck. They were on time in arriving to the house, as well as courteous, respectful, and professional from start to finish. I would highly recommend for anyone else to use their services.

  2. Sloppy and Damaging Move.

We trusted Two Men and A Truck with our move and it was a terrible experience. The movers were distracted and slow walked the move which increased the billing, and they didn’t complete the job. They did a lousy job packing furniture in the storage unit, did not separate some furniture with pads, and damaged furniture in the process. Neither the local Charleston office, nor the corporate office will respond to calls or letters. We will definitely not be using Two Men and A Truck for future moves.

  3. An Unpleasant Experience..

After having a really good prior experience with the Sacramento franchise, my wife and I decided to use the local office for my recent move. What transpired was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

Early in the day, the lead mover got hurt. While I sympathize and understand that these things happen on jobs, it was handled unprofessionally as he basically walked off the job with no communication. The two remaining movers were new to the company and didn’t know how to move any of the furniture in the home. This resulted in a move that took more than 9 hours versus the original estimate of 5-6 hours.

We had several items of furniture damaged during the move, including a hand-made book shelf that my wife and I had built for our son, an antique desk, and our bedroom set. In general the issues were due to lack of care and what seemed to be a lack of experience. The movers also damaged a number of walls and other surfaces during the move into the new house. A number of smaller items were damaged in transit as well.

We voiced our concerns with the company and eventually received a small discount. However, the discount was nowhere near the cost of repairing the damaged items and didn’t appropriately account for the job taking much longer than it should have by their own admission. Dealing with the company was difficult and we continually felt disrespected during the process of trying to get this resolved.

I wasn’t expecting a perfect move, but the number of issues and lack of communication were way beyond what I would consider reasonable. I’m not generally in the habit of posting reviews, but we had such a poor experience that I felt compelled to warn other people. If you’re considering using this company for moving, I would search very hard to find alternatives. If anyone has any specific questions about my experience, I’d be happy to elaborate to help you make a better decision than we did.

  4. Horrible Experience.

I could not imagine a worse company to spend your money with. I have moved several times over the past for years due to my job and have used several other companies, all of which were good experiences. Two Men and a Truck was the complete opposite. The movers damaged my home in multiple places and did not point out any of it and I had to bring it to their attention before they would document anything. The follow up from management is almost nonexistent. I had to call and email many times and it took multiple days if not weeks to get a follow up. I now have to take off work several days and lose wages in order to accommodate their repair vendor. My move was a month ago and I still do not have my repairs completed and have to take off more days off work for the drywall repairs and still don't have the light fixture scheduled for repair. Management will do nothing as far as compensation and basically says "well it could have been worse so sorry about your luck we don't compensate for any of our mistakes.

  5. Don't use them unless you want your stuff screwed up.

This had to be the worst moving experience I have ever had. It was a three room move. I was quoted 6 hours with them packing my stuff. I decided to pack and skip that step and cost, but it still took them 8 hours to move us?? It was exactly 1/2 mile from one location to the other. Now for the list of damage: They gouged our 1 month old leather couch. The scraped and nicked the entry door to our new home seven times. (It will have to be repainted and filled.) They broke or high end exercise bike, They scratched and nicked our workout weights. (basically anything that I didn't pack (or couldn't pack because of size) they managed to screw up. I watched them Drop two loads of here carts onto the ground. Breaking item s in one box and causing a nick in the side of a night stand. They did in the end only charge me for 6.5 hours. Still the initial quote with them doing the packing was 6 hours. I was told after writing down the damages we had found before they left. (which weren't all) that the supervisor would call me the next day. That didn't happen either. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!! THEY DON":T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUFF, JUST YOYR MONEY!!

  6. Damage to property.

We got 3 guys one was in training. I would like to say they wrap and care for you belongings..the new guy was bringing in my suede dining room chairs..uncovered in the middle of a downpour and it appeared he used my chair to cover his head and walked under a downspout. ..I was offered a half hour off my bill of $145 per hour. I have 2 damaged chairs to my $1497 beautiful dining set. Chad from their office called me and now seems to be unreachable. However they wasted no time charging us $585 ..I would not use or recommend this company again.

  7. In State Move.

My parents were moving out of state and decided to give me several pieces of furniture; a few couches, old fish tank (empty, no water), a lounge chair, filing cabinet, and kitchen table. I decided to hire a mover so that I did not have to waste an entire Saturday or Sunday and get a buddy to help. The move is about 40 miles and an hour of driving from origin to destination. Two Men and a Truck quoted me$ 345 for the move originally.

The movers showed up early and I was notified by my parents that these movers clearly could not care less, were bumping into walls and woodwork without a care in the world. On top of that they took their time. I then found out later that my parents tipped these two guys, hoping that maybe this would make them be a bit more careful. Nope. Couch cushions were tossed onto the lawn and driveway at my house and all items, I believe there were 8 and none were all that heavy or awkward, were simply thrown into my house. They couldn't even be bothered to take 5 minutes to put the cushions onto the couch or anything. Then they took their time chilling in their truck, milking the time further, only to inform us that they had gone over the original estimate and the new charge would be $400 instead of $350. So a job that was literally supposed to take 3 hrs, with 75% of that being driving, was poorly estimated. I did the math afterwards with Google Maps and realized their estimator had left about 20 minutes for the movers to load, and 20 minutes for them to unload. The clock started when these guys left their dock, and ended when they returned. But they spent over half an hour loading the truck alone and I am assuming they had to have stopped for lunch or something too. And they accepted a tip that they clearly didn't appreciate (I found this out after the fact and this probably irked me the most). I understand that an estimate is an estimate, but in my opinion, he clearly underestimated to get the job.

My parents had this same company quote their out of state move, and luckily went with another. They told me their experience with the Two Men and a Truck estimator was a total joke, over priced, and tried selling them on the fact that their company will not compete with other companies on long range moves because Two Men and a Truck uses smaller trucks. My parents just completed their move with another company, using the same size trucks as Two Men and a Truck, saving a few thousand, and informed me how professional their movers were. If only I knew what I knew now. Maybe people have had nice experiences with this company, but this one left a real sour taste in my mouth and that is why I decided to write a review, something I rarely do. I also uploaded a photo of my living room after these guys left. At least my son got a kick out of the chaos. I would think twice if you went to hire this unprofessional company. Perhaps they didn't care because my move wasn't an $8k move like my parents.

  8. Moving company.

Arrived on time, explained move, never stopped moving stuff.
Excellent moving of heavy furniture. They were quick and polite, moved only 20 minutes away. They only moved heavy stuff, no boxes.

  9. Fast and efficient move.

I have a very tight schedule and Two Men and a Truck got me a move date for less than a week after I called them, exactly when I needed it. Three very polite and experienced movers showed up on time and got my move done in less than three hours with no damage to anything. I would recommend them to anyone moving.

  10. Bad service.

This was the worst experience I have ever had. The customer services was and I still lacking. My very expensive entertainment center was broken and the company won’t help to get it fixed or refund my money. I filled out a claim and no one contacted me for 2 weeks. After I made contact with Taylor, I was told my claim was lost and asked if I could send my copy. After complying with his requests and pictures of damage, I was not contacted for several days. It took multiple emails and asked to get information for a supervisor and corporate number. This information was never provided but I was welcomed with a brush off email. I have never been more offended or upset with any company especially considering I was a return customer. I looked into litigation but it would cost more to take them to court then it would be to buy a new entertainment center. This is something this company counts on. I say to everyone, please beware of this company because they do not care.

  11. Fantastic experience!

The two men that came to our home were very proficient and fun to be around. They took care of our furniture and no damages. They were able to keep the drawers in all the dressers and wrap them in plastic wrap to move them. Same with freezer and frig. Such a blessing and time saver!!

They worked quickly and were considerate of the money I would be spending per hour. They worked non stop except for a 30 min lunch (that they made sure to deduct that 30 mins from what I owed)
They had all the supplies (blankets, wrap, straps, dollies, etc) and the total was well worth it!
They arrived on time and completed the job in less time than estimated. They even moved my piano with ease!!

  12. Long distance move.

Ask questions about fees and pick-up and delivery upfront. This is based on my experience:
    1. Ask how many hours for day pick up and delivery, may be over two days, not mentioned in the estimate
    2. Weekend rate for Thursday thru Sunday moves, no mention of this in the estimate
    3. Request full disclosure of all possible options
    4. Request to receive follow-up call confirming contract agreement prior to the move.

  13. In-state move.

We moved from our home of 23 years, the first home that we had built and raised our large family there. To say we had accumulated a lot of stuff is an understatement!! Our move needed 4 trucks and 9 strong men. The men were organized, careful, and very helpful and thorough. We were completely loaded, transported 70 miles away, and unloaded IN ONE DAY! The company project manager stopped by to check the progress and workmanship. Our crew looked for ways to help us out. They were cheerful and fun to have in our home. We especially appreciated the help with furniture placement and bedroom set-up at the new home. They did not leave until they knew we were happy with the way they left our things. It was a very positive experience.

  14. All items were delivered just as they were at pick up.

I had an excellent experience! Tyler and Hill were courteous and worked very quickly and efficiently! They were organized and completed the loading and unloading in a timely manner! I would highly recommend them to anyone moving!

I had a great experience with the company office employees also. Just made a phone call and knew within 15 minutes when the move would happen and the cost. It was the easiest move I have ever made because of both the office staff and the 2 movers!! I will recommend the company to anyone who needs a mover!

  15. Was never contacted.

I tried to set up a move date via the internet on 6 Dec 2015. I waited until 10 Dec 2015..(4 DAYS!) and never heard anything from the company, even though I got 2 emails from Emily Cooper. I contacted someone else on the 10th who gave me immediate feedback. I move Monday.
    I would not recommend!
All the info above regarding pickup/delivery date, times, etc is bogus cause no one ever contacted me.
