  1. Move from Virginia to Florida.

I had to book a last minute move from VA to FL due to a family emergency. From the beginning of my experience they were able to help me through the process and put a little ease to my stressful situation. I was able to get in touch with someone through out my entire move whenever I had questions or concerns that came up. From the time that the movers arrived to delivery they had full communication with me through out the process. They did arrive a little late for pick up, but I was able to work around it since the driver made me aware of the delay. I am over all very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone that is currently moving.

  2. Unprofessional scam artist.

I started looking to move from California to Georgia in January 2018 when I came across this company. After talking to a few different people decided to trust my move with United Relocation. I paid the deposit in March and they were suppose to come pick up my things on June 28th. I received a call on Sunday June 24th staying they needed the final count of what was being moved. I have them an updated count and was told I needed to pay another $1000 toward my deposit. I was then told since the person who initially provided my quote was so far off on the weights, and because I was unconvinced I would not have to pay anything more at pickup. It is in thecontact that you pay 1/2 of the remaining balance at pickup and the rest at delivery. So I figured they were trying to work with me. Then I was told I would get another call on Tuesday to make sure nothing has changed. Tuesday the 26th came and went. I called the company on Wednesday the 27th stating I had my final count and was then placed on hold for over 30 minutes. When someonecame back to the phone I was then told it was to late to make any changes but not to worry because they have requested weight tickets. I was then assured a truck would be at my house between 9am and 1pm on the 28th. At 1pm I called for the ETA (estimated time of arrival) and was put on hold another 30 minutes. When the operator returned I was informed a truck was not scheduled to come but they will have me on the schedule for June 29th. Again I June 29th no truck arrived. I was told they could not get someone out but would have someone come on July 1st. By this time I'm frustrated because all of my things are packed and ready sitting in the living room. No truck on July 1st, but this time I received a call saying there was no more room on the truck. The driver then said he would be at my house no later than noon on July 3rd. Again I waited, but when the driver called he asked If I had the $1500 (1/2 of the remainder balance due) I informed the driver of the arrangement and was told he will not come if I don't pay. I then called the company back once more. They apologized for the inconvenience, but although the representative whom I spoke to admitted to making this arrangement with me they can not honor it. At this point I had had enough. I then cancelled and did the move myself. After cancelling they refused to refund my money. These people are a bunch of crooks. My move was delayed at no fault of my own and they refuse to take any responsibility. Than I was asked to sign a letter staying I will not give them a bad reviewand that I won't go to my bank to get a refund. It's safe to say I never signed the letter and received a FULL REFUND from my bank. I would not trust United Relocation to feed my fish nor recommend them with something as important as moving your personal belongings.

  3. Worst Ever !!

I wouldn't ever recommend this company for anything. I had a storage unit in upstate NY moving to south Fla. The salesman was very polite and nice on the phone when making your quote. I paid the deposit and singed the paperwork. I arrived in NY and I was given a 2 day window for pickup. The first day went by didn't hear anything. So the next day I still didn't hear anything. Called customer service to find out what time they will be arriving. The woman on the other end of the phone said she would get back to me. She contacted me later in the day and told me that it might be later that day around 2 pm or the next day. I told her I had to be out and that I had to be today. She said let me see what I can do. She then calls me at 2 pm telling me it was going to be the next day between 9-11 am. I got really upset and she had that I don't really care attitude. So we had a yelling match which really didn't do anything to help the situation. I told her I want to speak to her boss and she was really rude to me after that. I told her that I don't ever want to speak to her again don't call my phone! so this guy named Andrew I believe his name was first of all tells me I am an angry person. I told him that he messed up all my plans . I had to stay in NY for another day pay for 2 hotel rooms , another day on a rental car . He acted like oh well it isn't a big deal to them.
The next day I was at the storage unit waiting for them to arrive. I got a call from the driver telling me it wasn't going to arrive until after 3 pm that day. I was really mad !! There was nothing I could do just sit and wait. They finally arrive and start removing things from the storage unit and wrapping my antique furniture in their nasty torn moving blankets. They charged me $125.00 to use their crappy blankets. They start loading the stuff stop about half way through and tell me its going to be an extra $500.00 because it is taking up more space in their box truck. I got extremely pissed off! told them to take it all out of their truck put it back into the storage unit! I screamed to no avail. I finally paid the extra money had no choice because I had to be out of the storage unit that day. All this company does is subcontract to the lowest guys out there. and when there's a problem you can't get a hold of anyone , and if you do they are rude to you. I tried calling and texting my salesman several times and he wouldn't return calls or anything. With the total of what I had to pay out additional the hotel rooms and the car it cost me and extra $1000.00. They are the worst!! Giving you fair warning not to use them .

  4. Long distance move.

I hired United Relocation to move half my house across the country and the other half was going into storage. I have to say I am pretty happy with their service so far. The first move was completed and I’ll have to wait a few more months to get the items from storage. The only thing that didn’t go as planned was that they showed up 2 hours late on pick up. They supposedly got held up on another move prior to mine, however they did contact me to keep me updated. The movers worked hard, my furniture was wrapped nicely and everything was in 1 piece when I received the delivery. I was able to reach them when needed and Customer service did well. I’d use them again. Thanks United!

  5. My moving experience.

I have to say my overall move with United was very good. I’ve used multiple movers in the past and had horrible experiences. I had to make a sudden move due to my employment so I didn’t have much time to make a decision but I was very skeptical and asked as many questions as possible before making my decision. I chose United mainly because the representative I worked with was patient and took the most time with me. Pick-up and drop-off went well, the movers weren’t as careful as I would have been but there were no major damages whatsoever. I usually do not write reviews but I figured because of my experiences in the past United Relocation deserved a good review. If any friends or family members ask for a mover I will definitely be recommending United Relocation.

  6. Very Dishonest Company.

United Relocation offered me $500 refund so I would not write this honest, true review and I refused because I wanted to warn people of how terrible my experience was with them.

I have a two year old and we were moving across the country so I thought hiring a moving company would be best- not if you're hiring this company.

They tell you your move will occur in a two day window. At no point did they warn me this could change. They pushed our move TWO days which caused us to incur over $1500 in costs because of this, largely due to losing our deposit because we couldn't vacate our apartment on time. They informed us of this about 24 hours before our first potential moving day which meant I had packed our entire apartment, sold things like our bed, etc. Had I known this was going to happen I would have preferred to rent a U-Haul and drive it myself but at this point they said I couldn't get my deposit back so I was trapped.

In addition they overcharged me for our move and refused to refund my money as they promised. Like all moving companies, they ask you to provide them an inventory of your move. I provided the inventory and they assured me multiple times the quote was "worst case scenario" and everything would be weighed and measured after pick-up. They did not weigh or measure our things but instead they kept the entire amount we paid when I was told by numerous employees there the cost would be adjusted after our things were picked up. They never made any adjustments. Not only that, the quality assurance representative told me I would not be charged for a couch that added $700 to our quotation. When I asked him via text message if I would be charged if I sold the couch since our move was delayed he said I would not be charged for anything they did not pick-up. They kept that $700 and would only refund me the $500 if I signed something that legally prevented me from reporting them to BBB and writing reviews like this one.

In addition to the above which cost us many thousands of dollars. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. I spent hours and hours of my life over the week before our move and several weeks after on the phone with people who promised me credits and price adjustments. I was promised managers would call me back. They never did. They made it impossible for me to get answers and most importantly collected our full quoted amount for our move, meanwhile promising me there would be price adjustments after the move was weighed or measured. After they collected our things they told me they wouldn't refund my money because I paid the movers the full amount (which is what they told me to do).

Their business practices are so shady and sneaky and I hope you read this review and choose a better company. They by far the worst business I have every worked with. I can't understand how they can get away with operating in this way.

I haven't been able to examine all of our things yet, as they were delivered to storage so I can't even tell how that went. I am afraid to look.

Find another moving company. These guys will take advantage of you and lie to you to make the company more money.

  7. Don't Hire.

My husband and I decided to use United because we thought their services would make moving with a 6 week old baby easier. Boy, were we wrong. United hires subcontractors who then hire more subcontractors. You have no control over who is actually hired to take your belongings. In our case, we were also charged at least 30% more than the original estimate.
United asked us to give them two options for pick-up days. We did. They informed us the day before the first day that they had scheduled our pick-up on a day that was not either of the two days we had given them. When we finally got a hold of the person in charge of picking up our stuff, he told us one day and then didn't arrive until the middle of the next day. Jake from United promised us that we'd receive a discount for the hassle caused by the mischeduling of our pick-up, but when we tried to get a hold of him again (to get that in writing), he could never be reached and never called or texted us back. We were charged the full amount. The guy that arrived to load our belongings then brought a truck that was too small so we had to wait for several hours during our pick-up window for him to bring one load of our belongings to a warehouse and come back for the rest (we were making a cross-country move and waiting to get on the road.. ). We moved at the end of July and have just now received our belongings (it did arrive at the end of the 21 day window after our requested delivery date). The company delivering our things did not begin trying to find transportation for our belongings until 5 days prior to our requested delivery date (after having two months to plan for it). We have broken dishes, dented/scratched/dirty furniture, MISSING parts of SEVERAL pieces of our furniture, and bent dresser knobs. Boxes that were marked "FRAGILE" or "STACK ON TOP" appeared at our new house crushed. I could not be more brokenhearted and upset with how our move was handled. Several precious things we received as gifts for our infant son now have missing pieces and dents. We have an antique bar cart that is now missing a wheel, our crib is missing all of its legs, we have a big hole in our metal lamp.. I could go on.

  8. Mark.

After dozens and dozens of calls I finally caved in and used United Relocation only because they were so persistent and I was crunched for time to get this move in order. It was a pretty small move 2b 2b across the state but even so I can say that they were very accommodating to my needs and were extremely thorough during the whole process. The movers arrived on-time and were very friendly and extremely thorough. Everything was packed with extra bubble wrap as I had requested and even though I did add a few extra items at the end I wasn't penalized to heavy for it. The entire delivery process took 2 days to arrive to the drop off location. It happened to be the same group of guys as pick-up so it made things very smooth and comfortable from the start. They helped my wife put things back in the spots that were needed and nothing was broken or damaged during transit. My quote was higher in the end but that's because I had added some extra items on at the end, so that was to be expected. Overall it was a good experience and I would use them again.

  9. Ashley.

Me and my husband had gotten dozens of calls from companies in such a short span we really just got fed up and picked the one that was middle of the line in terms of price. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. They were informative about the pre-move and what to expect. The day of the move, there was a small delay with the truck arriving but that's to be expected with these circumstances. The guys were very friendly and cautious with our belongings. The entire move took 4 days with a short stop in between. We were called by our rep to inform us of this delay which I really appreciated. The day of move in was a little hectic, the delivery guys were different then the first but was ok as they were just as friendly and hardworking. They helped us position our items back in the necessary spots and were very careful with the breakable items. For such a short last minute move, I was pleasantly surprised with the service and price that we payed.

  10. Dont do Business With These People.

DISGUSTING SERVICE! I've never dealt with such [EDIT]. It is THREE days before my move across country, and I happen to call th today after days of trying to reach my Sales Rep DYLAN who disappeared after charging my deposit. During my call today I receive some news stating "we updated your quote because it turns out it's an area you are moving to we need to charge more". My price went up $400+. This is weeks after I received my quote from them based on ADDRESSES THEY ALREADY KNEW, and this is simply a scam!! Was this something that they were going to tell me the day of the move ??.. disgusting. They changed the price last minute. And when speaking to a supervisor.. she played victim the entire time stating that I was being "really rude" and she couldn't assist me. WHAT THE F DO YOU EXPECT ?? Ghetto service. Save yourself some trouble.

  11. Moving scam.

United relocation took my down payment and then increased the moving cost by 200% two days before the move. They would not return my down payment.
They are a SCAM and should be put out of business.

  12. Never Again.

It is currently 9/25/18. I moved July 20th. Movers showed up 3 days late. Half of my furniture was not delivered. Every phone call gets punted to someone else. Messages to call back are not answered. I was told to file an inventory of my missing items with the company that United brokered my move to, that company told me to file with United.
End result : No one knows anything, no one has any answers, and I filed a complaint with the better business bureau ( who has also not been able to get a hold of anyone).

  13. Worst experience ever!

I hired United Relocation to move my son's furniture from NC to Dallas. I was told my furniture would be delivered on or around August 4th. Our belongings were picked up at 9pm on July 19th buy HQ Movers who were subcontracted out by United Relocation. Once they got the stuff outside my home, they put me on the phone with Daniel from H Q Movers who proceeded to try to charge me an extra 800.00 for space on truck. My item total never changed since I booked the job. No reason to pay more. We waited and called and texted and emailed to try to get a delivery date once our expected delivery date came and went. Each week we were told our items would be loaded the coming week. Today is day 49 since they stole our furniture and they never ever delivered. My son went an entire month with just an air mattress. We've now had to rent him furniture since we now know we've been victims of mover fraud. Do not do business with this company. Save yourself lots of aggravation and find a real company.

  14. Contacted Allison.

We went through a list of things! I was in one state my contents of my home were in another.
So, until I’m home I’m not 100% sure of anything.
Allison said don’t worry we can add things later when your home.
As soon as I filled out the paperwork on line and sent the $1,200.00 deposit I was all set with a date to move!
I tried to contact them again to make changes !
    All numbers were non existing!
I re read the contract again contacted every number in the contract with NO results.
I called the driver Andrew and he reassured me things would go smoothly and not to worry!
I still tried to get a hold of Allison.
She sits in her grand office in Boyton Beach, Fla.
I found a email address to the company and sent a letter of cancellation, because Nobody from the company had a working number! All numbers had recordings from Verizon that said I could be charged for this call and to hang up!
As soon as Allison saw that letter e/ mail she left a message for me!
I called her and she went on and on about herself and how great she was and from this great family from the East Coast and why did I turn on her!
Well I’ve never heard a word again and I’m out $1,200.00 period and have not moved yet!
I’m 77 years old and feel like I’ve been swindled by this company !
Oh I will never get my deposit back!! Read the fine print!!
So, if your moving make sure you call a local near your town moving company.
They should come to your home give you an estimate
    In person !
    Swindled in Wa.

  15. Grant Stackhouse.

I was relocating for a Job and went online to research companies and decided to go with United Relocation LLC. They weren't the cheapest qoute that I was offered but I decided to go with them because they were upfront about how the whole process was going to work and they didn't pressure me to sign a contract. The actual move was 3 guys and they had everything on the truck in about 5hrs. My rep stayed in touch during the whole process and gave me updates on where our stuff was, which was very reassuring. It took about 6 days for our stuff to arrive and everything was exactly as we had packed it. There was a couple minor scratches but that's bc I hadn't bubble wrapped a few items in boxes. Overall this company was upfront about cost, punctual on timing, and had great communication. Throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will use them again in the future. Thanks soo much!!
