  1. Long Distance Move.

Cross Country Movers, the parent Company of All USA Van Lines, is a shady company, along with All USA Van Lines. My complaints are as follows: pickup was on October 13 2013, by Driver, & 2 workers at approx. 1030 am. Completed loading at 155 pm, ~ 700 sq. feet or 1 br. Quoted at 2600; cost was 3700. Original quote was considered binding. Had to pay over 700 for packing , although everything nicely packed already. Charged extra for tape, which quote said was included. Paid all at pickup. They charge extra for placing on ccard or debit. No signs on moving truck doors, only paper with DOT #. Different from number on bottom of doors on truck! There is no Customer Service, only Dispatch to speak with after your belongings leave your home. They then quote may be 21 days till arrival, although contract states 7-10 days! Not BBB affiliated. Speak poor English. Allow you to talk to dispatch only or a voicemail. Said would call when belongings leave warehouse in Atlanta. They did not. Spoke with them today, said waiting on a pickup, then driver will inform me 24 hrs ahead. A very nice man from Texas called from Dallas area this afternoon. He is not affiliated with All USA Van Lines, simply bringing my furniture. Thank goodness for kind & honest people like him. Do not use Cross Country Movers or All USA Van Lines. They are shady, rude, & a ripoff. I would love to have my tip back.

  2. Nightmare Move - refused to get lost goods.

Not only were they 34 days late from the maximum delivery time of 21 days but the worst part was a lost box of goods that was located in Mass. They refused to get the box, told me to file a claim. There was also a misdelivered queen size mattress that they did not pick up to deliver to the rightful owner. They told me to throw it away. I could go on but it would take too long. Do not use this company!!

  3. Very bad company.

Very disillusioned with this company, terrible service, all our belongings got damaged and in poor condition, plus broken. Poor customer care! Never answer the phone and when they do not have the correct information. In addition to harm us our stuff, we lost boxes and were not responsible but only $150 prima experience with this company unserious, irresponsible and bad! Not recommended for nothing!

  4. An unredeeming update.

So I wrote a review about USA VAN lines a few moments ago when I was still unable to get ahold of them after 21 days of waiting for our delivery.  I just got off the phone with a lady who said that our stuff was in storage in Georgia.  (We moved from North Carolina) They were waiting on a driver heading out West. The discount for every day they are late..$9.99.  So at that little bit of financial unconvieniance to the company they could hold our stuff for several more weeks till they find other fools to trust them with an East to West move.  In my opinion if a company makes certain delivery promises, like an already outrageous delivery time frame, to give them the time they need to gather customers and make the trip financialy fruitful to the company, then it should be their responsibility to take the losses of not being able to gather the cusomer base in the desired time frame.  This is how you earn loyal customers, by keeping faith with your promises. I will never use this company again.

  5. Bad communication, broken and missing items.

Very bad experience. Summary: very late delivery, two bookshelves were missing, one bike is missing, most of other delivered furniture are damaged (chair, end table etc.)
    Details:
First of all, I got into this via mid-way van lines (was dealing with ralph there). They promised me that stuff will be delivered within at max 10 days. Pick up was by all USA van lines and was on time. Once picked up, I had to call them 15 times to get the delivery. The biggest problem was it was very hard to get to their dispatch department. Very rarely they answer (of course, what is voicemail!). Whenever you get someone, they are rude. As per the dispatch, they can take up to 21 business days and whatever sales agent told me was bs! Frustrating part has they never answered my calls nor answered my emails. I was scared - how on earth am I going to get my stuff back?
When they finally delivered, I didn't two bookshelves. They said it broke in the warehouse! My bike was not delivered. They don't know where is it. The exercise bike is broken. Dining table chair is damaged. The bed frame is wet. Fortunately, all the boxes (which we packed) were fine.
Then it comes to "Long carry". Truck drivers who deliver intentionally give many reasons to increase the length of walk and charge for "Long carry". I paid $500 just for long carry (First of all, sales agent never told me about long carry charges. Never mind) and then we are after all humans - so we tip too! I could have bought all of my stuff in my total cost!
Their customer service is horrible. Everyone is rude. They rarely answer calls. .

  6. Never Use an Internet Mover. go Local.

LESSON: Call a Realtor for a referral of a reputable moving company, even if the phone quote SEEMS like  a good deal. Quote was done over the phone.   I have since found reputable movers who have taught me: NEVER DO A QUOTE OVER THE INTERNET OR PHONE. We reserved the elevator for 1-4 for our move and called twice to tell them.  They showed up at 9:00 AM.  We told them we were not allowed to move until 1, they came back at 3:00.  They then said, oh, you have a lot more square footage.  We had measured and counted and reported each box and piece of furniture.  We were to store for 35 days until our apartment is ready.  One of the movers smelled so bad we had to spray Fabreze after he left.  In the hall as well as the apartment. We were forced to find another apartment that won't be available until another week.  We called to change the delivery date.  We knew they'd tell us there'd be a storage fee increase.  They told us WE CAN'T HAVE OUR THINGS FOR A MONTH LATER THAN THE ORIGINAL DELIVERY DATE.  I won't even discuss where they stored our things.  One might assume near the pick-up or delivery location.  Nope.  Richmond, VA.  2 hours from the pick-up, 8 hours from the delivery. To date, we still haven't seen any of our household items. Please, heed my advice:  contact a Realtor you know and ask them for a referral.  Don't ever book a mover over the phone or internet, no matter what they quote.  .

  7. Avoid using All USA Van Lines.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM OPERATING AS A MOVING COMPANY!My wife and I hired them to move us from South Carolina to California. My wife spent the majority of the time dealing with Kay, a salesperson. While Kay was very helpful in getting us set up, once they had our deposit, it was a completely different story. We were given a date for the movers to arrive and pick up our items. We had boxed all of the items ourselves, with the exception of a couple of specialty items that we felt required special attention and expert handling.Everything else (all large items: furniture, beds, entertainment center outdoor items, etc.) was to be packed by the movers when they arrived. When the movers arrived, pretty much on time, I was surprised to see them pull up with a large box truck (a rental, no less), as opposed to a semi. When I reminded the driver (who seemed to be the leader) of how much we had, he assured me it would all fit on the truck. Aside from the driver, there was only one other worker.(A third worker showed up a couple of hours later, at which time we learned that he was answering a Craigslist ad to make $100 for helping pack the truck!) The driver concentrated on wrapping the large items, mostly in blankets, while his helper loaded the boxes, which we had packed and set out in the garage, onto the truck. When it became apparent that not everything would fit on the truck, as we had warned them, the driver said that they needed to take what was on the truck to a storage facility down the road, unload it, then return for the rest. At no time were we told that the move would be handled in this manner. We asked how long the items would remain there, and he said a semi truck would be by on Monday morning (it was Saturday that they picked up our items). We asked why they didn't just schedule the pickup for Monday when the larger truck would be here, but he said he didn't know - he was just doing what he was told. They returned for the rest of the items, and three times they attempted to leave, assuming they were done, and we had to remind them of items that they hadn't gotten to yet. They were very unprepared, and were in a big hurry to finish and leave. Well, Monday arrived, and no one picked up our furniture. We had already leased our home, and were driving to California on Tuesday morning. At that point, Kay, whom my wife had been dealing with, couldn't be reached (we were told that it was out of her control at this point anyway), so we now we are on the road to California, with no way of contacting anyone that could tell us when our furniture would be picked up. A co-worker of my wife was also relocating, from North Carolina, and she was told that her household items would be on the same truck as ours, since our destinations were withing a few hours of each other. We arrived in California 5 days later, and our furniture still hadn't left South Carolina. My wife's friend had been doing some investigating while we were on the road. She found out that All USA Van Lines had no insurance, and their license had been revoked, so they were technically not allowed to be doing business at all. That same day, we finally got in touch with Giovanni (in customer service, I believe). We confronted him with the information regarding the company's license revocation, and he tried to tell us that everything was fine, it was just a misunderstanding and that some minor paperwork the next day would clear things up.We told him that we wanted out, that no one from that company should remove our belongings from storage, but were told by him that they had just been picked up that morning, and the driver was on his way to North Carolina to pick up my wife's friends items. We asked how they could do that without a license, and he said he brokered it out to another company, Sammy's, I believe, out of Florida. We were outraged, to say the least, but we were told that he had already left, and that everything would be fine, and that we would be calling him when our furniture arrived to thank him for such great service. Well, we got "Sammy's" number and called him, and he said it would take him 4 or 5 days to get there.Meanwhile, we're stuck in a hotel in Sacramento, with two dogs. 4 days later we call to find out where he is, and he's just entering New Mexico! Asked why it was taking him so long, he said something about getting tied up in Louisiana, which wasn't even on the way! 4 days after that, he arrived at my wife's friends house, and she called us in tears. As they were unloading her items, most of them were scratched, dented, or just plain broken. She said she saw our items as well (some were actually tied to the back of the truck, uncovered, not even inside!), and also noticed extensive damage. He arrive the next morning to our house, and as soon as the boxes started to come in from the truck, I almost got sick to my stomach. I've attached a couple of photos of what some of the boxes and other items looked like when they brought them into the house (THE PICTURES WERE SERIOUSLY TAKEN AS THE ITEMS WERE CARRIED IN TO THE HOUSE)".When we began to confront Sammy, he just shrugged and said we need to take it up with Giovanni.. We almost had to force Sammy to call Giovanni and admit that there were a lot of damaged items|. Giovanni said to make a list of the damaged/destroyed items, and call him when the movers left, which we did, but of course he didn't answer our call/. After three days of attempted calls and emails, he finally called and offered us $200 for the damaged items! What an insult! By our estimate, he's off by a little over $3,000! We've since demanded neutral arbitration from the company, which by law they are required to provide.. We have also filed a complaint with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), on the grounds that they were not authorized to be doing business due to the lack of insurance;.They still don't have insurance:. You can go to ProtectYourMove,.gov, click on "Search Movers and Complaint History", and search by their U.S. DOT # (1882970) and see their complaint history, and how often in the past they've had their licensed revoked for lack of insurance. This move has been nothing short of a nightmare.Hopefully they will be fined heavily, or even prohibited from operating ever again, and we'll get some money for our damaged and destroyed items. Please, don't try to save a dollar when it comes to something as precious as your household/personal items - hire an established company with a good known reputation.DO NOT USE ALL USA VAN LINES! d40082  .

  8. Avoid this Company!

We contracted with All USA prior to closing on the sale of our Florida home.  We scheduled the pickup day a month in advance.  The date was tightly coordinated with closing.  They did not show up as planned.  No call.  No warning.  At 5:00 that evening, they arrived to tell us they would start that night.  There were supposed to be 5 packers.  Only two arrived.  The company promised to send additional help, but never did.  We had to help pack.  They charged us $4,000 more than their original estimate.
We are now waiting on delivery and running into additional problems.  Our household items were scheduled to be delivered this week.  They did not show.  No call.  No advisement.  We have contacted them numerous times.  They do not return calls.  Who knows when our stuff will arrive!
Take our advice, avoid this company at all costs!

  9. Worst Mover.

Never opt this company the below reviews are correct. I didn't get much time to review these mover. I booked through InterState movers they subcontracted to this company. Delivery is always late. False Promises. During delivery only one driver was there and I need to help him to getting into the home. Never take this company for moving. Many items damaged and lost.  .

  10. Worst Ever.

I never write reviews but hopefully this will help someone else to not make the same mistake that I made. Oh where to begin. First off they were late on pickup by a couple days so I was late on leaving my apartment which cost me extra rent. I, like everyone else, was charged way more than quoted. According to  what I have seen from other reviews it is typically twice what they quote you. For me I was quoted $1450 and charged over $3300. Not sure how, I barely had anything moved, a bed a dresser and some boxes. They told me that the cost was contingent on weight so I only packed light boxes, clothes etc. When they showed up they told me that they calculated weight by square footage and way over estimated my actual weight. I don't know you would think they could weigh the truck before and after, or be up front on how they charge you in the first place, but I guess that would be too honest. So anyway here I sit, movers are already late so finding a replacement isn't an option so what do you do. They took all my stuff and off they went. This was May 30th I believe. They call me up a week later and say "Oh I'm sorry we are not going to be able to deliver your stuff to your town because there is a regulation on truck size. Our truck is too big so you will have to meet us in Pendleton, OR. Don't worry it's only about a 45 minute drive from your home town." So first of all Pendleton, OR is a 3 and a half hour drive one way, secondly I found their explanation rather fishy since we have 2 Semi Trucking companies based in my home town. So I called Idaho Port of entry to check on their story. To make a long story short they are full of crap. So I declined having my stuff moved to Oregon and we made other arrangements, which now only have me driving 2 hours to pick up my stuff.. Yayyyy! Well it is now July 2nd. Here's a joke for you. What has 2 thumbs and still hasn't received his stuff?.. This Guy!! I called yesterday and guess where my stuff is located.. Wait for it.. 2 miles away from the house I moved out of. So apparently it takes just over 2 weeks per mile. So I figure by the year 2130 I should have my stuff. Luckily I was told by a very convincing woman on the phone that a manager would contact me yesterday. Oddly enough though he never called. When I called again today I was assured that the manager would call me before the end of today. I totally think that is going to happen. In all seriousness this company is crooked and there is no other way to put it. Everything about them is shady. Please, for the love of God, use another company. Oh another story before I forget. My friend used this company and had a valuable painting 4-5 thousand dollars valuable. It was "lost". He was reimbured 60 cents on the pound, which is what I agreed to in my contract. He received a whopping check for 5 dollars. I wish I heard that story before they had my stuff. STAY AWAY!!

  11. Beware!!

Sad to say, no stars for me on this one if there was a choice. I do not know how far a move the people who gave them 4 stars had but I moved across the county from NC to CA and it was made even more stressful by hiring this company. You get what you pay for and sad to say it did not come cheap on my end.  They did a NO SHOW on the date specified on the contract. They also put me in waiting mode..waiting on endless excuses from both parties (the company and the dispatch driver.) They gave me a time frame but it was not followed..they came late and were in a rush to get my stuff out and get going. I had valuable artwork and paid extra for careful packing but the packer snapped at my request to handle them with care. He disrespectfully told me that he has been doing this for years and I should just let him be while he was plainly slapping each framed piece of artwork together, without bubble wrapping them and putting them in a box. Before they left, I was told that I was over the alotted space on the truck and had to pay extra, BUT!! it was negotiable if I gave them a what I would call " bribe". This is after I was quoted a flat rate on the phone! I paid the extra instead of bribing the [EDIT]. My boxes and artwork finally arrived last night June 24 and guess what?! A new driver and his sidekick asked  me to " bribe" THEM, $20 bucks each, to dolly my artwork and boxes to my storage space even though I was told this was included in my original quote. All while it's raining and my stuff is on the curb.  Some of my boxes where handled badly but I am just glad that all this infernal stress is over. I am hoping that this review is helpful. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!  .

  12. USA Van lines are scammers, DO NOT use them.

USA Van lines (out of New York and New Jersey) ripped me off. I spoke with "Stacie" who gave me an estimate on my move for a 2 bedroom apt half way across country. When the movers came several hours late they charged me almost twice as much as my estimate. Then they told me the date I requested to have my delivery would be no problem, but never called me the day before to confirm as they said they would, and when I called them they now said that they would be coming 5 days later. When I tried to talk to Stacie again who guaranteed my delivery date, I got the run around. First saying that she was out sick, then that she no longer worked for the company. I tried to speak several times with someone name "George" in dispatch who spoke little english and would not offer me an explanation or discount and said that he would call me back. He never called. Throughout days of waiting in an empty apartment, I called and emailed the company several times, with little help from anyone who answered the phone, if they even answered. When the two movers finally showed up 5 days later at 4am, they requested cash up front, and told me they were charging me extra money for the 4 extra stairs they had to go up. They would not begin emptying my truck until I gave them all the money, and told me to call the police, which I did. I did not trust the two guys in their 20's (very unprofessional) who were smoking in the parking lot of my new condo complex and arguing with me about extra stairs at 4am when they were 5 days late. When I looked in the truck, some of my items were knocked around, and not wrapped up. My furniture was damaged and several of my items were dirty. Please DO NOT use this moving company, I wish I had researched it better, however, of course they sent me consumer reviews raving about this place, but now I am thinking it is all fake.

  13. Successful moving experience.

A close friend of mine recommended me to go with  All USA Van Lines   as they came in reasonable. I booked my move and was very much convinced  when all my queries and concerns were answered with proper explanations so I readily decided to book them up. On the moving day these guys were on dot time, they then  loaded up my apartment in no time and  drove over to my friend’s house  in the mission and loaded up his apartment, and then again went back to my old apartment and came back to unloaded everything at our new apartment all in under 4 hours  and yes they were successful in helping me.  I  recommend them.

  14. Great service!

I recently landed my dream job in Manhattan and had to move from S. Beach.  I called All USA Van Lines and spoke with Anthony.  He helped me to receive a great price on my move. I didn't have to do anything on the day of the move. I was told they would be there between 8-11, and they showed up around 9:00am. The crew reviewed my paperwork with me before they started working, and we had to make a couple of adjustments, but everything was really reasonable.  The moving crew really did a great job, they explained everything they were doing and were communicating with me every step of the way.  I didn't feel like I had strangers in my home, they were really great.  I needed a couple of weeks to get my place in NY, so I was nervous that I would have to wait to get my things because I didn't have a set delivery date and I know they are a busy company.  So I called Anthony when I got my new place and told him I would be ready in a couple of days, he set the date for delivery and I had my belonings and was settled in my new place shortly after. Thank you Anthony and the moving crew, you are truly a professional company and I would recommend you to anyone!

  15. Dishonest, unreliable, rude.

Thanks Anthony.  He had an accurate list of our stuff.  I called 3 times to update him and he would always put me off and never called back.  3 days before pickup I called again to update and tell him we added more boxes. Don't worry about anything, he said..you'll be very happy on moving day.  Well, moving day..almost 2000 dollars more than the estimate and we had no choice but to pay it.  Anthony wouldn't return my calls and customer service people are rude and nasty. We were told to call if we wanted delivery early.  We arrived 10 days earlier than expected, but no way can we get our stuff any sooner. Delivery date to be May 15th..that's today.  Our stuff is 'in transit' with a 3 day window of delivery.  But,they are saying it will be Sunday or Monday, maybe..trucks can't drive on Hwy 101 (since when??).  That's more than 3 days, as I told the customer service person.  Too bad..it'll get there when it gets there. So, I ask..who owns this company, who is your boss?  I don't know.  Can I speak to a supervisor?  I am the supervisor.  I want to speak to anyone else but you..I'm the only one here (but I hear voices in the background).  Never, never again.  These people are crooked and nasty and dishonest. And I still don't have my stuff..
