  1. Horrible Customer Service.

    Horrible. I had an unloading plan confirmed by cc and they cancelled it because I didn't respond to an email. I gave my cc to confirm. If there was confusion they should have called back the customer that called them to place the order..me!!

    They cancelled, continued to tell me I cancelled and gave my spot away. As a women, alone I can't express how horrible this felt.

  2. Disaster.

    I can't even begin to explain how disappointed I am in U-pack and the company that they hired on our behalf moving staffers. They caused damage to over 60% of our property, and what I am estimating at 20K+ in damage. The service of U-pack was horrible from the start, when working with us, they gave us a quote and were completely off in the amount of space we needed in a truck, we ended up needing twice as much space as they apparently don't know how to estimate properly. Then we had several scheduling issues. They gave us estimated delivery windows which were also incorrect. But most notably was referring us to Moving Staffers who sub contracts work out to other companies who don't seem to have a good rating who have no regard to clients personal property and loaded things in the truck so bad that we had so much damage to our property. These guys were horrible, and for the cost we should have used a company that does it all for you.

    Would you recommend this mover to a friend? No.

  3. Short notice unpacking.

    We had our POD arrive from an international move on the Saturday morning of a long weekend.
    Moving Staffers responded quickly to arrange labour. The two guys from We Muv U fit us in after a long day, and did an excellent job. Thanks everyone!

  4. Recent move.

    I cannot say enough positive things about the Moving Staffers involved in my recent move from Portland, OR to Amherst, NY. This is true on both ends of the line. I wasted a lot of time worrying. I would use them both again and recommend them to friends.

  5. This move was a total nightmare from start to finish.

    If I could give a minus star that is what I think of this company and every employee that I had to deal with from the so called movers to customer service. We were assured that we would have experienced movers and one of the guys told me he just started with the company the day before, had no training and no experience, that was after he dropped and destroyed a very expensive piece of furniture. The movers showed up with no equipment, not even gloves. We gave them gloves and they used my husband's dolly. We should have sent them away right from the start but we were desperate as we had sold our house and had to get our PODs loaded. The movers were moving furniture from our home into PODs that were in our driveway. 2 guys showed up and were expecting 2 others to help. By the time the last 2 guys finally showed up the first 2 guys were so mad that they started screaming and using very bad language with each other. We finally had to ask them all to get off our property after they started pushing each other. The last to guys that showed up late also drove their car in our lawn. When I tried to get payment for the damages I was offered $90 for a $2000 piece of furniture. I had photos and witnesses, my next door neighbors who heard the crash when the movers dropped the furniture on the sidewalk. Our neighbors and sons-in-law had to finish the job, along with my husband who has had 3 back surgeries. We have moved several times but this move was the only one that was a total nightmare from start to finish.

  6. TERRIBLE! Don't use.

    TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE! Not only did they over charge and charge my card more than once without permission, they damaged my bed and didn't take any responsibility for it. They broke and intricate piece that cost $100 dollars to replace! They were also late to the job and unorganized. When I complained about all of this they did absolutely NOTHING to resolve my issues. NEVER EVER AGAIN!! Warning everyone I know about them!!

  7. Ruined our belongings..PODS other affiliate UNIRISC not worth buying!

    Where do we begin? What a joke to have wasted our valuable life, time and energy working with this insurance group (Unirisc). Laughable! Their professionalism (none), their timely service to their customers (none), regard for the belongings destroyed by the PODS company they sponsor selling insurance through (a joke)!

    From Jan. 2017 to today (3/20/17), the timeline we were subject to for reviewing our claim was a comedy of errors from beginning to end! They were like the 'Keystone Cops' chasing their own tails in figuring out how to even handle our claim. One department lost our documentation to initiate our claim, while another department had numerous so called claims analysts assigned to assist us - of which, none of them did.

    Ultimately, after waiting almost 2 months for a decision on receiving restitution (either replacement of our damaged valuables or honoring the insurance policy we took out for security with PODS, in the event any of our belongings were damaged) we finally received a letter emailed to us today. The end result was their due diligence was resourceful in finding a way to exonerate themselves from honoring the claim. Their "out" , if you will, was to revisit verbiage they extracted from the policy (in the finest of small print, no doubt-because we certainly didn't recall seeing the reasons they pointed out in their decision as grounds for simply writing us off). In other words, we were left with quite a bit of our furniture, priceless memorabilia and heirloom pieces in ruin without any regard for "making us whole", as insurance purchased against such losses is meant to do!

    Advice to the wise..don't even waste your money on the insurance PODS includes in your contract for possible damages. It's obviously a profit ploy they've built into every move they handle with no intentions whatsoever of honoring when it comes time to use the coverage for damages incurred!

    Thank God this was our final move and we never have to deal with the likes of services like PODS, or the unprofessional 3rd party packers (Moving Staffers) they suggested on their list of vendors (without really vetting or validating their quality or lack thereof of services to their customers or the shady insurance affiliates they are associated with). It truly is a Buyers Beware Era and you would be making a big error in working with this organization!

    Moving and transporting is going to continue..we are aware of this reality, but, if you've taken time to research and review who to deal with and what to save yourself from, we hope this helps in your decision making process. Because, if we had it to do all over again, PODS was not the best choice and we should have just gone with the more experienced, traditional movers. Trying to save a few bucks cost us far more in the long run. Operative word here - "RUN"..as far away from using PODS for your move, if you can help it!

  8. I wish I could give 0 stars.

    This company packed our truck for our move from Florida to Michigan. On arrival, almost everything was broken that they packed for us. The costs of the broken items were greater than the amount of money we paid to have everything moved. We tried contacting them twice but they did not get back to us. My advice is to find another company. Horrible experience.

  9. Excellent Service.

    My husband and I moved very quickly from TN to D.C. and needed movers ASAP. We received excellent service from booking to completion of the move. The two gentlemen who moved us into our new home were great. Nothing broken and everything put in its proper place. They finished early and helped me with unpacking my car as well. Highly recommended.

  10. What a horror story.

    It began with the movers arriving late on the day of the pack, they were then in a rush, the guys in Cleveland flew through the house but when they started running out of time, rather than asking for a second day they started throwing things into the second truck.
    Apparently in their rush they neglected to secure an internal wall in the truck resulting in MAJOR damage to countless items. When we unpacked we realized that the pictures were simply thrown into the truck with no protection. Expensive office chairs had been beaten up because the movable wall in the truck had fallen down and this goes on and on for dozens and dozens of items.
    It was almost OK, because they initially acknowledged it was their mistake and they promised to cover the damage.
    Amazingly, when it came time to settle, the person we were dealing with is nowhere to be found and Tammie from claims finds for about 10% of the damage.
    Buyer beware! Hiring no names from Craigslist would be better.

  11. Ripped Off.

    The 2 men from Moving Staffers that did the job loading the containers for my sister were pleasant enough, however they used materials and never asked her or advised her that she would be charged what turns out to be an additional $300 for the materials! It wasn't even on the receipt!
    They listed 2 rolls of tape, 2 straps, and 1 rope. No prices. According to billing those charges are $4.50 per roll, $15 per strap, and $10 for a shoelace type rope. Then billing tells us that the movers added 50 pieces of wrapping paper at $4.50 each for a total of $225! Our $500 move winds up costing $904! The additional charges showed up over 1 month after the move. This mover came recommended from UPACK. Don't let them use anything without full disclosure and don't sign anything without being clear about the cost. She moved at the last minute under a lot of pressure due to a home closing and had a very short window of time to move. This company took advantage of the situation.

  12. Addendum to a prior review.

    The crew that unloaded our PODS in South Carolina came from Legends Movers in Murrell's Inlet, SC. They arrived on time and proceeded to put mats on the floors and bumpers on the door frames to protect them, and got our stuff unloaded in no time! They put everything together correctly and placed items exactly where we wanted them put. They were friendly, courteous, professional, and very nice. They made a great team. I would use these movers again in a heartbeat!

    The AFS drivers were punctual and friendly.

    The movers unloaded the truck into our home with efficiency and carefulness.

  14. Terrible, Rude, Misleading.

    The loaders provided by Moving Staffers were not prepared (they did not even bring a dolly, which caused them to go over their 2hr time). Then they improperly loaded everything so that when my items arrived, several pieces of furniture where crushed under the weight of other boxes. Moving Staffers said that they would do nothing about that because it was fine when the movers put it in the truck. The representative then hung up on me. Upon unloading of my shattered items, I was charged $250 extra (a full week after the initial charge and receipt) for something that I specifically called and asked them about. (My delivery was delayed and I had asked if my pre-paid funds could be applied to another unloading day.) Moving Staffers noted that I had called but conveniently said that they had no record of ever telling me that I wouldn't be charged which was my entire reasoning for calling and rescheduling, otherwise I would have just cancelled and done it myself. They are very helpful when taking your money, but rude, misleading, and terrible people when dealing with any issue.

  15. Moving Staffers via U-Pack.

    I was referred to Moving Staffers by U-Pack. I was moving from the West Coast to the East Coast and I had a lot of concerns about my belongings arriving safely and without damage. Now that I have completed my move, I can say that I am absolutely satisfied with my move that was managed by Moving Staffers. Both the loading and unloading crews did an outstanding job. The loading crew meticulously wrapped all of our furniture in either heavy wrapping paper/plastic wrap or in moving blankets that we had purchased on our own. They even built a custom box to hold our Cal King memory foam mattress that couldn't fit in any pre-made moving box. They packed our U-Pack container very efficiently, utilizing all available space to minimize the total linear feet consumed. The loading crew foreman was very customer service oriented and happily accommodated every one of our requests. The unloading crew foreman was fantastic as well. He was very experienced, had a pleasant demeanor, and was very patient. His crew did a fantastic job unloading as none of our belongings were damaged during unloading.

    All in all, I couldn't be happier with the cross country move with Moving Staffers and the crews they used on both ends of the move.
