Moving my In Laws.
Oscar, Julio and Carlos showed up right at 8am to begin our move. My husbands parents were moving 2 hours from their home to be closer to us. Their house was FULL of antique furniture and rooms of boxes. We even had to work around a spiral staircase. They guys were excellent. They were extremely efficient and careful with everything. They even helped us move some furniture to a neighbors house that we were giving away. We drove 2 hours around the beltway to the new home. Upon arriving, they helped us unpack and set up the furniture. I highly recommend 495 Movers! Ask for Oscar. As the leader of the team he was extremely professional and hard working. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Oscar, Elvin, Paul, and Antonio were fantastic. Extra service for packing odds and ends that weren't ready at the start of the move. Everyone was very friendly and worked hard while taking very good care of our belongings, including our piano. They moved a couple of couches a second time inside the new house when we changed our minds on which rooms they looked best in. Highly recommend 495 movers!

Excellent movers! Oscar and Salinas did a fabulous job moving our son's items into a one bedroom apartment. They were on time, careful, efficient, friendly, courteous, and took very good care of our items. Would definitely recommend them highly for your next move!

I would highly recommend 495 Movers. They moved my all of my family's possessions from NYC to DC over the course of a day. David and his crew were careful with our stuff, nice, and respectful people. There were no hidden fees, or games with our stuff. Given how stressful moving can be, it is worth going with such a reputable company.
Small Complicated Move.
I used 495 Movers to move a relatively small load (about 3 rooms) from two different sources to a rural location 3 hours away. They were prompt, efficient, very careful, and very pleasant to deal with. When we got to the final location we found furniture had been moved into the living room, and needed to be removed before we could unload. They cheerfully did the extra work . I've never had a better moving experience.

My family and I have moved 17 times in 20 years with the military. I have had the pleasure of dealing with some good companies and the displeasure of dealing with surly, lazy inconsiderate ones.
This company clearly operates as the model for customer service, efficiency, and quality. I can only assume that all of their employees are held to a very high standard. Even so, the crew seemed to actually enjoy doing their best. From the clear, complete and timely scheduling and set up to the thorough care given to the handling and packing of our household goods, Family Movers set the bar. Highly recommended!
Thanks to Nate who scheduled and managed our move and the excellent crew that handled our packout. They even made a side trip to my home to pick up some items that I was not able to fit in our storage facility.
DC to Maine.
We were moving from DC to Portland, ME and had a few companies quote. Tom did a great job staying in touch without being too persistent and for only a couple of hundred dollars more 495 offered a dedicated truck and direct drive for next day delivery instead of having to wait for transfers to and from a larger truck and waiting 10-14 days for delivery. To save us from stress and hassle we went for a full service move, the team packed carefully and professionally and had our 1 bed apartment packed up in about 5 1/2 hours. Our driver arrived late next morning and with local help everything was unloaded quickly and efficiently, also once we unpacked there wasn't any breakages or other damage. I was particularly impressed that not a single plate, bowl or glass from the kitchen was even cracked. As I said 495 were not the cheapest quote but were definitely the best option so we could get moved and settled into our new home as quickly as possible, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them in future.

I highly recommend 495 Movers. Nate and his team were great to work with. They were quick to respond when I contacted them and they gave us a not-to-exceed quote so we knew we wouldn't be hit with any last minute charges. The moving crew was excellent - they wrapped all of our furniture in pads and packed the truck so well that not a single item got broken or damaged. We've already recommended them to friends who are moving in the near future.

I booked 495 Movers. They were very helpful in answering all of my questions. They arrived on time and all of the movers were very polite and took very good care of my belongs. The price that was quoted was the price I was charged.
Residential move from Kensington to Manassas.
The crew was punctual, polite diligent and efficient. They protected our household goods and both residences from loss and damage. They were very well trained and incredibly hard working. I would and probably will use them again. The company provided free packing materials which were delivered to our house -- a very great convenience. I can recommend this company without reservation.
Excellent Cross-Country Move.
We moved from the Washington, DC area to Texas in August and the entire experience was very favorable. From the beginning of our decision to contract with 495 to the final delivery, we were treated in a courteous and professional manner.
This was our fist move in 12 years (and first long-distance move in 16 years) and choosing a moving company in and of itself was a stressful experience. As a military family, our previous moves were much more cut and dry, leaving us with no experience in choosing a mover. We received quotes from several companies and, while 495's was the highest, it was also a "not to exceed rate", which greatly reduced our stress level, knowing that we wouldn't be hit with hidden costs.
We arranged for household packing for our move, making for a two-day process. The packers were courteous, efficient, and professional from start to finish (even assisting in loading one of our cars for the cross-country drive).
Less than seven days later our shipment was delivered to our new home in Texas. Again, the experience was top-notch.
Throughout the process, the customer service was excellent. Tom was always available to answer whatever concerns or questions we had.
All in all, the move was a very pleasant experience and made a very stressful time a great deal less stressful.
