  1. Horrible service/ DO NOT BOOK!!!!! BEWARE!!!!

On Thursday, December 16th, about 10am I was contacted by Ryan from Empire Moving for an

estimate on my upcoming move to San Diego. I alerted Ryan that I didn’t have an address yet

and the move was TBD. I put down a deposit of $1254.57 and was told by Ryan to give us a call

if you want to cancel or make adjustments in 72 hours. Ryan told me to then store the

company’s number in my phone as “EMPIRE CSR”

On Saturday, December 18th I received my address -(Baja California) and called the company

to see if they could deliver to Mexico and if not cancel. A woman answered the phone and said

they were closed until Monday and said I needed to call Monday morning at 9am.

On Monday, December 20th I called Ryan at Empire Movers and asked him about the move to

Mexico and if the company would accommodate me, he said “No”. I then told Ryan I will need to

cancel my order with the company, he then told me its past the 72 hour policy. I told him I called

the company on Saturday to cancel and a woman answered the phone and said they were

closed. I then asked Ryan how a customer is supposed to cancel when you're closed on the

weekend and could I speak with a manager. Ryan then put a guy named Shane on the phone

who said he was the manager. I explained to Shane the issue and he said they would not give

me a refund just a credit. I explained to Shane I called to cancel on Saturday but your employee

told me you were closed. Shane said we are open on the weekends and i told him that an

employee told me differently when I called on Saturday. He said you could have sent an email

(which I immediately did after this conversation). I explained to him that I tried to cancel on

Saturday. Shane then told me my deposit would now be a $1254.57 credit with their company.

I then asked Shane who the owner of the company was and refused to disclose that

    information.

On Wednesday, December 22nd, I reached out to Empire moving company to use my credit

and was transferred multiple times. When I finally got someone I was met with hostility and

attitude. I told the woman on the phone I was just trying to use my credit to hire movers to put a

few items in storage. When she asked for the address she was very snarky and defensive when

I asked if Ryan had already given her the address - she said “Tenessa multiple times and began

to talk over me as I was given her the info - saying “I know your frustrated and kept trying to say

I was disgruntled. I told the employee I was having a great day and please don't try to make me

out as an angry customer. I asked the woman her name but she refused to give it to me..

(remind you this is the same woman who answered the phone on Saturday saying they were

closed.) I then asked for a Supervisor and some lady named Brittany got on the phone

disgruntled claiming she was the supervisor saying my name over and over and would not let

me get a word in.. before she hung up she said Tenessa stop harassing us.

Now remind you I’m the customer who they just stole $1254.57 and I’m trying to work with them

to get a refund or at least use the credit.

I also had a friend call the company to see about my credit and she also keeps getting the

runaround. This company refuses to render service or give my money back.

After doing some research I found out this company steals money from customers frequently

using the 72 hour policy as a scapegoat even if you can't reach anyone by phone to cancel.

I filed a BBC complaint on this company.

  2. Criminals !

Empire took $660 deposit, and never showed up despite confirming with them. I am persuing criminal and civil actions against David Newman, and Empire.

  3. Furniture never picked up

At first the company seems legit and good. Chris is definitely a smooth talker. Once they get your deposit Goodluck getting your furniture picked up. We are still waiting to even get our stuff picked up after multiple no shows. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this service. If my furniture ever gets picked up I will re adjust my review depending on how that goes. Be aware.

  4. Horrible Customer Service

BEWARE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are not accredited with the BBB, contract out your move then claim no responsibility for anything the “carrier” does. Their customer service is extremely condescending and rude. Their sales guy pulled a bait and switch on me - his name was Chris - he fast talked me with a low price, saying I could change things if needed and that ended up being completely false. There are so many hidden things in these contracts and they company does not care if you are treated badly. I truly cannot believe they are even in business. I am truly terrified to find out what my delivery will even be like in the coming weeks. They should be ashamed of themselves. If I could give them zero stars I would.

  5. BuyerBeware Bait and Switch to the Max - GO to a reputablemover!!!!!!

After providing a detailed list of furniture these scums low balled the quote and gave my move to another bunch of scammers. Also customer service is a joke, and they will explain why their estimate is meaningless and you are at the mercy of the movers who show up and quadruple the estimate after your belongings are on their truck.

  6. These Peeps are Brokers SCAM BAIT and SWITCH

I thought I was signing a contract with Empire Moving Group. Instead they put my move on a board for other low life movers such as OASIS out of Los Vegas. What was estimated to be a $15,000 move is now a $25,000 move with this company OASIS. This is a front and those ratings of top 10 is nothing but a scam to fish you in. They showed up with Budget Trucks and once they had my furniture loaded they then sprang the additional $10,500 cost to move cross country. Oh then they were to store my furniture for several months for about $1300 a month with one month free. Well I get a call that the cost is almost $2900.00 a month to store my furniture. Yes indeed these Peeps are a scam and they have no interest in helping you they just make their $3800.00 broker fee and turn you over to the hostage takers and you have no idea until you are in the swamp.

Kyle was my contact with Empire and he never disclosed he was just a clown behind the a bait and switch and that EMPIRE is nothing but a shell a BROKER. They do not move anyone. They put you on the bail and switch board for the hostage takers to real you in.

I had no warning that I was signing up for some back alley moving company OASIS out of Los Vegas.

  7. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

If "0" stars was an option, I would have selected that

My mother was looking to get a driver to transports her household items from Utah to North Dakota. She explained with the representative each of her items in detail, how many boxes she had, the size of her couches, etc. - every detail they needed to accurately determine the size of the trailer needed to move. The Representatives name was ALEX, his direct line is 561-221-6727. After the Rep secured $1900 from my mother-in-law, he then decided to inform her that the size of the vehicle was 8ft W, 10ft L, and 7ft Tall. Which would not fit all of the items , unless of course you threw all her belongings into a wood shredder first and proceeded to shovel the wood chips into the trailer. If you look at the other negative google reviews (which are the actual reviews , the positive ones are made by a full time employee of theirs whos job is to bury the negative reviews with fake positive ones - I know this because I worked in this industry and ended up quitting because of the unethical behavior) you will see how this company actually works. Once I caught wind of her situation, I knew that I was seeing a red flag, I immediately had her call to cancel the the deposit that was charged for services not being rendered as stated. The Rep ALEX continued to harrass via text, every message stating that she would NOT get the money back, which is an intimidation tactic to prevent the victim from filing the chargeback with the credit card company.

  8. BEWARE---- LOOK FOR ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY

THIS IS A BROKER NOT A MOVING COMPANY. SAVE YOURSELF SOME HEADACHE AND ALOT OF MONEY CALL THE MOVING COMPANY DIRECT. THIS COMPANY LIES. HERE is our WORST mistake, in August, we were checking into moving companies to move us from New York to New Mexico. We spoke to Alex at Empire Moving, he gave us a quote, we were not sure of the date because our house was not on the market. We ask him multiple times if we would be able to change the date or cancel if necessary and get our money back. He assured us we could change the date or cancel up to 7 days prior to the moving date and get our money back minus a handling fee. We book with him online and paid a deposit of $3750.00, they refused to take a credit card said it had to come out of our bank account. In September we requested to cancel and get our deposit back. We were told that the deposit was non-refundable after 72 hours from booking time.

  9. Horrible business ethics

I cancelled my contract within the acceptable timeframe without response or confirmation from Empire Moving Group for more than a week and a half (I made 8 attempts to directly contact them, phone and email). They blatantly lied to my credit card company and stated that written cancellation was not received. Since I disputed the charge they refuse to provide a refund, per policy. The billing department has hung up on me numerous times and no longer takes my calls. Do not engage with their unethical business practices.

  10. PLEASE READ MY POST , do not TRUST THESE PEOPLE

Please Review my pictures, I have more to share but google won’t let me upload more, Empire group are brokers and hand your job over to small start up moving companies and several in some cases to move your things.

My move was handled by 2 sets of movers.

THEY RUINED MORE THAN 50% of my house item, I will list everyone’s name I worked with: CODY ROBBINS WAS THE BROKER, he eventually blocked my emails after I was trying to reach out to him for support.

They handed my move to a NJ based company CR7 who picked up my things from NY, stored it in NJ

Who then handed it over to a single owner company who rented a truck from penske to bring my stuff to my new location. (Found this out when the truck shows up)

2 kids who couldn’t lift anything was the staff.

My husband and I had to maneuver the move of items in.

I paid for closet boxes and a full pack of dishes for $ 1200 and they rammed all my suits and good clothing like garbage.

More than half my kitchen items were broken

They didn’t have boxes and used my plastic containers.

Some cases glasses were wrapped 2 at a time.

All my white furniture was just wrapped with plastic and no moving blanket.

All the corners of every time is scraped, digged and damaged.

Cody Robbins promised he would be with me from day 1 of the move to the last day to ensure all was okay

Once they got their deposit they disappeared.

I took one week to figure out what the claim process is

CR 7 said they will file the claim and this was untrue

I sat for 4 hours loading pics and details and receipts into a portal

Now it will take up to 120 days for my claim to process

All while I’m left with all the damaged items sitting around my house

And a loss of over $20k.

  11. 3rd Party Broker

Absolute frauds. Will hire you out to low rate 3rd party movers that never show up and demand cash. Sales people lie and underestimate. They are unresponsive and unreliable. Avoid at all costs.

  12. The worst moving company

Empire Moving Group is a group of liars who work together!! Never trust them. Several weeks ago a person from this company called me and start saying nice things about their company and promised me a certain delivery day. Now, after a week of living in an empty apartment, I am still waiting for a phone call from the company with an update about a delivery date. If they had been honest with me in the beginning, saying that there is no guarantee that we will be able to deliver your items on that date (or one, two, three, four, .... days later), I wouldn't be this upset now. Why don't I ask the person who called you the first time? Surprisingly, after signing the contract, his direct phone line is answered by someone else. Believe me, they have a plan!!

  13. Find another company

My experience with Empire moving Group from start to finish. Me and my fiancé are planning on moving from VA to TX in the next month. I had looked at some different moving companies and Empire reached out to me. The representative that I spoke to was named Chris and I had told him I had some lower offers to move my belongings and he said that if I went with a company that charge so little that what they would do is not show up and keep my deposit. So I decided to go with them. Now for anyone who is reading this review understand that Empire is not a moving company they are a third party go between. This will be an important detail in this story.

So a couple days ago we got window of days that we had blocked off for pick up. I had stressed to the customer service agents that I spoke with that I could not have a pick up past the 16th of August due to my lease being up. The first moving company that was suppose to pick up my stuff called me on the 14th and stated that they could not pick up my stuff until the 17th. I called empire and let them now, and the customer service agent Brittney was very pleasant and promptly got me squared away for pick up on the 16th.

The 16th rolled around and I called at 10AM to check on the movers, all this was through Empire. Brittney reached out and said they were running behind but promised that they would be there and that they would call me. I reached out two more times throughout the day during business hours which are 9AM-5PM. Each time I called I was told the same thing they are coming and will call you soon. I called customer service around 6 after not hearing anything and since it was past 5PM it goes straight to voicemail and tells you to send an email to get service after hours, which I did and got no response. I contacted Chris who had given me his personal number because he wanted me to know that they were always available responded after an hour told me he would check with his team and heard nothing back. So on the day I was suppose to move out no call no show.

On the 17th I called in around 1000AM to inform Empire Moving what had happened and that I have lost faith in their ability to move my stuff and deliver it in a timeframe that we agreed on and I would like to have my 750$ deposit back and to not bother trying to schedule movers for me. Brittney the customer service rep informed me that they will not refund my deposit and pretty much skirted the blame that empire had in this whole ordeal and as far as customer service goes was super unprofessional. She did offer to get me a new mover today and said they would remedy it but I declined because I did not trust them to provide the service they said they would. Mind you I had nothing but positive things to say about this company until it got to the time where the actual (move/what I paid for) had to happen. This company especially from the customer service side seems more concerned about avoiding the blame and making sure that your deposit regardless if receive a service or not will be kept by them. So please look to another moving company so this doesn’t happen to you.

  14. Fraudulent & Scammers

DO NOT give these people a dime! THEY STEAL YOUR deposits! They lie about everything you ask them over the phone then pressure & rush you into signing BS contract with them on phone claiming then their customer service/ QA department will contact you either later that day or the following! NO SUCH Department! Never was contacted for almost a month, then no one ever answers any of the 2 numbers your given, don't answer emails or voicemails and the so called customer service department is the SAME GUY who is the biggest flaming A**H*** around!! I'm disabled & have a traumatic back injury with. 1 year old and now scammed out of all my money since I have limited income but need to move out of state to be with family have surgery! These people should be in prison not scamming people left and right!!

  15. Beware

Just know it’s the worst. Will guarantee that everything will run smoothly and that there are the best in business but don’t believe them. They are suppose to hire the moving company but the customer ends up paying all the fees they are suppose to pay. Do yourself a favor and don’t hire them. The worst experience I ever had.
