  1. Great Experience

    If I could give this moving company a 10-star review I would definitely do it. when I first decided to hire a moving company I called a couple of companies and was either put on hold forever or treated very rudely on the phone, to begin with on the very first call. So the third company I called was this moving company. I was very impressed with the way they took care of my stuff and how swiftly they were able to load and unload my belongings. I highly recommend this moving company to all.

  2. Best mover!

    Jack and Anil were so great to work with. This was our first time hiring movers and they were great! We have a 4 month old. So we really needed the extra set of hands! And they exceeded our expectations. They came early. They packed everything efficiently and quickly. We had no damage to our items. At some point, they were even prompting us to get going. And I loved that. They want to make sure the people you hire value your items as much as you do. And Jack and Anil delivered! Would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future!

  3. No Complaints

    They are easily available online, the people who answer their phones are incredibly courteous and helpful, and the men who came to move my stuff were showed up 15 minutes earlier than their quoted time. They did their job amazingly and all the day they were efficient and completely professional. On moving day, they arrived promptly and were able to complete the entire move within an hour and fifteen minutes! What could be more?? Highly prefer them and would like to say use them I am damn sure you'll not regret this decision!

  4. Very nice!

    On the day of my move, they were super professional and prompt, arriving right at the earliest time in the quoted window of arrival and giving us a call 15 minutes ahead of then so we could be ready. They came with all their necessary tools to make their job professionally. We had most everything boxed up already, so they quickly moved everything out, secured it in the truck, they also tied up all our belongings with robes tightly to avoid any kind of damage, and unloaded at our new place without any damage or loss. I would like to say go with them for your safe move!!

    AMAZING MOVING COMPANY! I’m leaving this review so everyone should know that. This company came to me highly recommended by friends and am SO HAPPY I made the decision to use them. The 3 men that were sent over to help me move were EXTREMELY nice and professional. Their efficiency was amazing. My entire move took LESS THAN 3 hours! The way they cared for my stuff by wrapping it showed true care for what they do. They are VERY FAIRLY PRICED. I called 3 other companies, and this company was far cheaper than the rest. If I ever move again I know I’ll use this moving company to all !!!

    From the quoting process to the move and the unloading, Safeway lengthy moving was great to work with! This is our 3rd time working with them, and we are happy to recommend them. Quoting was a breeze. During the packing and moving, Richard and William were great to work with! Our items were packed professionally and moved across the state with two drop-offs. Once the ground rules were set for pandemic mask wearing during packing, everything was good to go! Recommending them to all.

  7. Not Recommended

    Safeway told me what I wanted to hear to close the deal and cut off communication when nothing they told me turned out to be true.

    Pick up: Told me I’d get 3 – 5 days advance notice of my pickup window. Actual notice: 2 hours.

    Total move timing: Promised 1 – 2 weeks. Actual timing was 6 weeks.

    Cost: Quote was $5500. Actual delivered cost was ~$7,800

    Insurance: Promise was that my shipment was fully insurable. Reality is that nobody in the world will insure a move with only two hours notice of who the actual carrier is (it won’t be Safeway).

    Quality: I was supposed to get everything unharmed. I did get most of my stuff in the end, but one of my chairs and one of my boxes was missing. And there were a ton of nicks and scratches on the rest from sloppy packing (they packed). Plus multiple broken picture frames.

    NET: Safeway is a broker. Maybe not a problem in and of itself, but they don’t actually seem to know what’s happening and they don’t answer emails or return calls. I was super anxious about this process for two months – from the time I was supposed to get a delivery window from them and didn’t to the time most of my belongings showed up, noticeably worse for wear.

    Not recommended.

  8. Great Services!

    Would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for movers. When I contacted Safeway Movers the person who answered the phone was very professional. He answered all my questions about the move and what to expect. I felt confident my belongings would be well taken care of and delivered in a timely manner. WOW!! No surprises here everything was done as planned, and my things were in perfect condition. They are dependable types of movers. Thank You, Safeway Movers. I will let everyone I know give you a call if they need a move!! Couldn't be happier.

  9. Excellent

    I moved twice in the last year. Both times I used Safeway movers. They are efficient, precise, and affordable, as the name says. They were very professional in their jobs, they packed and stored my furniture for almost a year, then they brought it to me when I moved to UT. Stephen and his crew were on time, and they delivered everything without a scratch! They communicated with me well. I had a very nice time moving with them. They make the process quite easy. Definitely, I will use them again if I have to relocate again. I highly recommend them!

  10. Fabulous Mover!!

    Honestly, I have never had a positive experience with movers so I was extremely hesitant when I booked them. I kept asking if there were going to be any extra charges, and I of course was hesitant to believe them, but they just finished (they arrived on time and finished insanely fast- 2 hours!!!), and there were no extra fees. They called when they were on their way, downstairs awaiting management. They were so polite, fast, and efficient. I never leave reviews, but I felt compelled because I hope everyone uses them. I will honestly only use them moving forward. I recommend them to anyone looking for a move- I could not have had a more positive experience!

  11. Frauds

    This company is a fraud and once they got you, they will not return your calls or emails. We booked our across country move with Frank. He was pleasant when we booked and we were quoted $8040.84 and after giving him our list of items to move, an estimated 1461 cf. We put a deposit down of $3216.33 and expected to pay $2412.26 when the movers showed up and the remaining balance on delivery. A couple of days prior to the move, we talked with Safeway to give our final count of items which included less furniture (sold to our buyers) but more boxes than intended. The person on the phone said since we are not moving several furniture items, the cubic feet estimate would be the same. Movers showed up on a Sunday and walked through and immediately said we have more items than 1461 cf - they would not load the furniture until we signed the new quote of $13,050 ($5009.59 more). Safeway was of course closed and did not answer the phone. We called and emailed Frank and others at the company who would not return our calls or emails. How convenient for them. At that point we had no choice but to agree since we had to be out of the home by Monday. How do you estimate a list and be sooooo far off? And then to not even call you back or answer your emails to explain. I would never recommend this company to anyone and will tell everyone I know not to use them. I should be refunded the additional amount of $5009.59 that I had to pay.

    Just moved today to my new home with the help of these movers. Definitely would recommend a 100%. They were on time and went over the details of the contract before starting. Everything was very clear. The movers were very professional and were fast while at the same time protecting my belongings. The process was seamless. They took care of everything for me. Great experience and will definitely use them again. Thank you to the best movers in the world!

  13. Poor packers, movers and customer service!

    We are in the midst of a move from California to Tampa, Florida. It is May 6th. We contracted with Safeway based on their rating and reviews. Don’t be deceived- they are brokers. What this means is that they subcontract moving services through a third party vendor. Joe Winters was our representative; funny how responsive Joe was when we were negotiating the terms and conditions of our move. He hasn’t been cited since we signed our contract. Since then, we had movers who arrived who were unmasked, rude, sexist and incompetent! We’re scheduled to move tomorrow - May 8th. They charged us $2,000 more than their original quote, packed stuff that we asked them not to, and then told us that it would cost $400 an hour to unpack the truck to get our belongings!!! This is a bogus outfit. I plan on taking every possible measure to insure that they don’t screw other families like they have us!!!! Don’t fall for their BS about making contributions to St. Jude. We’re sitting here in what is supposed to be our new home- no response from Safeway. Wish us luck!!!

  14. Worst company I've ever engaged with

    I had a very negative experience with Safeway Moving System. My actual price was 25% higher than my "binding" price when I signed the contract, and I was given misinformation by Safeway at every interaction. It's also relevant to note that Safeway doesn't actually move your belongings, they contract out with other agencies who do the moving.

    I contracted with Safeway for a move from California to Chicago, and took advantage of a month of free storage between pickup and delivery. I was quoted $4999 total, and paid a deposit of $2100 when I initially booked the move. When my move pick-up window was confirmed over the phone, I was told I would have to pay $1500 of the remaining balance by check, cash or mail order to the movers when they picked up. When I met the movers, however, they told me that I would actually have to pay $2700, including an additional $800 in charges that they had added on, even though the cubic space wasn't any larger than what I had initially booked for (I know for sure it wasn't larger, because the booking was for 467 cf., and it was coming out of a 10'x7' storage locker of already-packed boxes which was NOT packed 7' high). It was more than a little stressful having to come up with an additional $1200 on the spot.

    I had taken advantage of free storage, and when I made the booking, I was told that I should call Safeway 10 days to two weeks ahead of my first available delivery date to coordinate a delivery schedule close to that date. When I made that call, however, I was told that there was no possibility to have input on scheduling. I arrived to my house on the first available date having heard nothing from Safeway. I called them every day, for days after my arrival, and every day I was told I would get a call back within 90 minutes from "dispatch;" I never heard from "dispatch."

    Nearly a week after my arrival to my home, Safeway couldn't tell me what state my belongings were stored in, whether they had ever left California, or when I could expect to hear about the scheduled delivery date. They made excuses at every turn, such as, "it's just really hard to coordinate moves in the midwest"--I had booked with the company in part because they're based in Chicago, the city I was moving to.

    I was told by a Safeway agent that the move hadn't happened because the original driver had gotten COVID, and they were having a hard time finding another driver. I had initially been told I would hear five to seven days in advance of delivery. In the end, I got a call less than 24 hours in advance from the *actual agency* that was moving my belongings, even though several hours earlier the same Safeway agent who had told me that the driver got COVID had confirmed that they still hadn't found a new driver, and maybe I'd hear something the following week. I believe the whole COVID story was made up--Safeway evidently had no contact with the agency who actually completed the move, since they didn't even know that the cross-country move had been initiated evidently days earlier.

    I was also then charged another $450 "shuttle fee" on delivery (even though the movers who did the pickup, and who added on the $800 in charges, absolutely confirmed that there would be no extra charges at delivery). Even though I only had about 450 cf. of stuff, they had put it on an 18 wheeler truck at some point, which they said couldn't come down my street. The guys who were delivering didn't want to do the shuttle transfer and tried to convince me over the phone to rent a small UHaul truck myself and drive it to their depot, so they could load the stuff onto the UHaul there, and then I could drive it back and unload it myself to save the $450; they said they absolutely would not unload the UHaul for me. I have a spinal cord injury, so moving it myself was out of the question (and I had already paid Safeway $4800 for the move at that point) so I had no choice but to pay the additional fee.

    In the end, I paid Safeway a total of $6250 for moving about 450 cf. from CA to IL, having initially been quoted $4999. Upon unpacking, I also filled up a moving box with broken dishes and glasses.

  15. Use Them Again!

    These guys from movers company were amazing and were true professionals throughout the day. They just got on with the lifting and were happy to talk to me as they did their job. They helped me move in and took everything to the rooms I needed, and were very careful with the twisting staircase and all my books. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will be back in touch when i move next. Fantastic service from true professionals.
