  1. Dishonest Brokers

This is a brokerage company that will say anything to get your business. Dishonesty is common in this industry, but these are bald-faced liers.

On the eve of moving day, you're suppose to receive a call from the actual movers. This didn't happen in the first 20 hours of the day so I called them in case I fell asleep, but the phone had been disconnected like the entire thing was a scam. I reached out to the call center instead and they tell me that I'm out of luck because none of the brokers were reachable because they're all observing the holiday of Shavuot. After pressing them for help, they reluctantly gave me the number to the actual moving company who were running late (find one directly if you want to save a few hundred bucks).

On the day of, the movers were late, but reachable. When they arrived, they immediately took to straightening out all the BS that I was told; this seemed to be routine. I tried to get a hold of a broker again but they were still unreachable. I had to go through the time consuming process of cutting a new deal on the spot with my back against the wall. It suddenly made sense why the movers were late.

At the end, I was missing a box and it wasn't their problem. I understand that, but they sure acted like they would've cared. The actual movers deserve separate poor reviews. I guess the lesson here is that you get what you pay for and some people can be extremely dishonest.

  2. United American Moving Co.

Horrible. Charged $1300 for phone inventory. Day before move, changed terms to cash with unknown brokered mover. We switched to Bekins. Credit card unaccountably denied our protest, so we were on hook for fee for no service.

  3. Where is our furniture & belongings?

United American Moving contracted MoveSmart & Storage to move us. They put October 15, 2020 as an arrival date. That came and went. Was told by United American Moving that the arrival could take up to another 21 business days to arrive. That came and went. Was then told November 30th. That came and went. United American Movingthen said they lost contact with MoveSmart/Jason Pacheco (owner). Was advised to file a claim & police report. Filed a claimagainst MoveSmart & United American Moving & filed a police report against MoveSmart.

  4. Worst Move Ever

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER! Also, these are not movers, according to the Florida Attorney General's office, they are moving brokers. You're essentially paying them thousands to make a few phone calls and sell your under bid move to an actual mover. I'm basically echoing the same experience that Claire F. posted, as mine was identical.

I searched for movers online March 7, 2020. I went to a googled website, and you put in the number of bedrooms, and it generates a "quote". At the time a 3 bedroom house moving 120 miles away shows up as costing $1,300-$1,900. That's just a price to get you to call, because naturally it is too good to be true. You call the company, do a talk through of your household items, and then they quote you in the $7,000 range, which is obviously much more than the price they lured you in with. Then they play the "name your price" game. So, I gave them $5,200 based on other estimates I had for the same move. They were able to "apply a military discount", and some other "discounts" and gave me a quote for $5,216.40. Obviously a far stretch from the price they lured me in with online, but understandable. Then they set you up with a phone call for another walk through/talk through inventory. The first call, the kid calling "had an emergency with his girlfriend", so he rescheduled halfway through the day before the move. He calls back the day before the move, and does the walk through inventory. He talks my wife into adding more boxes to be on the safe side, and shockingly our estimate is now $2000 more. It was concerning, but I'm two days from my house being sold, so I am in a bind at this point. He tells my wife on the first phone call it would take most of a semi-truck, and it would be one day to pack and the next morning to load. The second time he called to finish the estimate, he tells her that it would be a whole truck, and one day to pack and load. That afternoon, I get a confirmation call stating the movers would show up between 9AM-1PM. Again, I expressed my concerns, which was I sold my house, and I had to be out by Thursday. They are assuring me everything is going to be perfect.

Worst move ever. So, the day of the move someone calls me around noon to tell me they will be at my house around 3:30PM with a 26ft truck. I was beside myself. No words can describe what was going through my mind. They arrive at my house 3 hours after the time promised, and they proceed to tell my wife that we would need to pay another $4,000 to move everything. Really...the day I have to be moved out of my house, they are telling me that I need to pay another $4,000 to make it happen? Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. I spend the next few hours hearing about how they quote...cu. ft., etc. It is a complete scam.

Bottom line, my wife and I detailed everything in my house, and they talked me into exaggerating my goods to avoid this exact situation. They moved about 75% of what they quoted. 147 pieces out of the 212 pieces on my listed inventory. Needless to say, I spent around $7,200 for a partial move, and after they packed almost everything, I spent the rest of the evening through to the next morning, so I can finish moving my household goods. No one answers their customer service. The only one that would answer was the guy who gave me the original quote. Then they played the "I am a supervisor" game and they are "going to take care of me" until they closed. Needless to say, I was left with a house full of stuff to move by myself.

After speaking with the Florida Attorney General, which is quite familiar with this company, I found out they are a moving broker that advertises as an actual mover. United American Moving subcontracted out my move to US Movers for $4,200, so essentially United American Movers took my inventory, and purposely underquoted the cu. ft., so they could sell the contract cheap, and pocket $3,000 for making a few phone calls.

  5. Movers never showed up

Scam all the way. Paid 1422.30 down, the movers never showed up to move our family. Had to hire another company. I will be suing and reporting to the BBB

  6. Scammers.

They quoted us $1400. We paid $500 deposit. The truck shows up late, the driver demands $6000. I refused and they kept my deposit. Straight up scam. Look for yourself..soooo many angry victims!!

Sooo many bad reviews!! BBB rates this co. D minus!!

  7. This is not a moving company.

These people sell your move to someone else. They make promises they cannot keep and quotes that will not be honored, then the real moving company that gets the job slaps you with reality -usually double the price or sometimes they hold you property hostage. When you call to get customer service their response is "wow it sucks to be you" "not our problem"

    DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

  8. Total Scam!!

As others have said they are a broker and the people they sell your bid to are crooks as well. We hired them to move my 70+year old in-laws from Virginia to Florida. Two bedroom, furniture only. Quoted $1800, 3-5 days. When they arrived they had a half full 30' trailer and harassed my elderly in-laws the whole time, to the point that their State Trooper neighbor had to come over to intervene. They told my Mother in law it was going to be $10,000, had her in tears and bullied her into giving them $500 cash that they REFUSED to give her a receipt for. I wish I could have gotten to them while they were there but we were in Florida. With ZERO communication they showed up 8 days later, totally rude again, shouting and arguing. They had “lost” 25 of the 70 boxes we started with and almost every box had something broken or was totally destroyed. They prey on the elderly and play this game of bait and switch with the price then terrify you with a huge final price so they can "negotiate" a deal. I would not hire these crooks for my worst enemy!! No one from David to Maya at the brokerage or anyone at the actual moving company was helpful or responsive! RUN! Spend a little more for peace of mind!

  9. Worst company.

We moved from NYC to Portland, OR in May 2020. Brett, the salesman who I first spoke to (https://m.facebook.com/PembrokePinesPolice/posts/1888963491116564), assured me of a few things. 1. That the movers could disassemble our couch in order to get it out of our apartment. 2. That the movers would wrap all of our framed photos and art. 3. That as long as we’d given them an accurate inventory, we would only be charged the price Brett quoted us. On the day the movers arrived to pick up our things, they told us they could not disassemble the couch (and because we’d had no notice of this, we ended up leaving it in the apartment), it had been our responsibility to wrap the framed photos and art, and that a number of items we’d CLEARLY included on the inventory list and then confirmed with a virtual walk through of our apartment, including our son’s keyboard, would be subject to an extra charge. They also charged us several hundred dollars more than we’d been quoted for a “long walk” to the van and for the flights of stairs we’d been very clear about when talking to Brett. Once they picked our things up, they then delivered them to a warehouse in NJ, where they sat for a month (Brett told us delivery would take 7 to 10 days. HA!). When our things finally arrived in Oregon, many were damaged or broken altogether, and a few had simply disappeared. We were in touch with several people in customer service at United, all of whom told us there was absolutely nothing they could do to make any of this right. If you receive a call from anyone at this company about a move, run away! What seemed like a chance to save some money turned into a very expensive and heartbreaking nightmare.

  10. Scam.

Complete and absolute unadulterated fraudulent company. The representative took an "inventory" by phone and quoted the cubic footage to be that of a one bedroom apartment (350cf of storage needed on the truck) even though we had a three bedroom house. When I discovered this was a tactic they use to book the job at a lower rate, then increase the price on the day of the move, I called my rep to cancel. Her "direct line" was disconnected and her email bounced back. I called the office 5-6 times and was told she would call me back. She never did. By the time I reached a manager to cancel, I was outside the "cancelation window" and they would not refund me. They kept my deposit of $1100. I have filed claims and complaints with the BBB, FL Attorney General, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator, the Bureau of Compliance, U.S. Department of Transportation and their insurance company, United States Surety Company, in Los Angeles, at 801 S. Figueroa St. If you have been scammed by these people, I suggest you do the same. Total fraud. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. BOOK A MOVING COMPANY THAT CHARGES BY WEIGHT, NOT CUBIC FEET. SCAM!

  11. Horrible scam artist.

This company low bids and then sells service to another company that also will rip you off to the max. Never received half of my merchandise after spending 3200.00

They will not send claim form after numerous attempts.

Steer totally away from this company as they are horrible bad news,.

  12. Worst extortion scam EVER all lyes lyes.

Will give you a great quote than sell your contract to someone like Brooklyn Movers who have no license or bond ! Strait off of Craigs list despite there website. Got3 fourths of my items back after 36 days and all of it was stolen or broken .If it was locked up it was broken into or never arrived!! DON'T USE THEM they are evil and will block your number when you reach out for help. As in my stuff is missing for over a month and neither them or who the contract with will answer your calls. My 5000 doller quote cost me 8000 pluses 600 to the truck driver under the table to get him to drive down a perfectly accessible street! Pluses the loss of anything of value and the total destruction of what actually arrived. Screw THAT andnoCCB licence or bond!

  13. United American Moving is a giant SCAM!

They will give you and amazing quote. Then..

1.They will require 30% of that for a deposit. Over 5k in our case.

2.Even after you give them an itemized list of your items, they will call before your move and ask for more money, “just in case” it won’t all fit on a truck. They wanted an extra $1000 from us. We did not pay it.

3.When the people they broker for you show up, they will ask for more than the remaining balance by giving you a “re-estimate”. In our case, they wanted double what we owed.

    4. They will broker a truck carrier, some day laborers to pack and load, and then a whole different company as your “movers”. Who gets your money?!

5.Moving companies require a weight so their trucks can get through the weigh stations. NO weight was taken. We are sure that if we had let them take our stuff, we would have been asked for even more money before they relinquished our stuff.

6.Even if they are in breach of contract, you will never see a penny of your deposit again.

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY!! IF YOU’VE USED THEM, FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE FMCSA!!

  14. Worst Company Eer!! Scam Artists Scam Artist.

I signed a contract with this criminal company not knowing they are BROKERS, was giving a pic tag of 4400.00 to move from Wichita Ks, to Orlando Florida and got RIPPED OFF. they brokered a company called United Relocation Movers and was told a delivery dated of June 24th , and I hired them on may 28th 2020, and I still don't have my belongings, I was told there is nothing they can do. I've contacted the FBI, attorneys generals office ,FMCFA, st louise state patrol, st louise state police and many more. as my belongings are located somewhere in st louise mo and not florida. I've called them many times with paid 2291.00, onto the carrier charged me 2500.00 upon arrival and told me I won't get my deposit back, I know have to pay 3100.00 extra upon delivery , whenever they feel like delivering! so you do the math. I'm out of my entire life , and now all my savings and I still have no house hold goods. stay away from the company! total crooks!!, I will not stop until they go under. they have stolen or aided in stealing my belongings and simply get rude when ask questions, or hang up on you. this company and united relocation movers needs to go down!! Thieves. I only gave them a 1 star because it has no option to say nothing!!

  15. Cancelled within 72, deposit still not received.

I signed a contract and then decided to cancel. As informed, I requested the cancellation in writing on May 10th. Today is June 15th and would you believe I have yet to get my 90% refund back. They are just as friendly when they are trying to get your business but as soon as you want to cancel, those positive friendly attitudes turn into bullies. The guy I spoke with actually kept repeating to me, “ so you want to play hard ball!” Very immature and unprofessional. In addition, he kept invalidating my concerns by asking me why I think they have a 4 point something review and I’m like well if y’all are so great why does my little cancellation matter?! I would not recommend. Every negative review, I have read has matched my experience somehow. Something seriously needs to be done. They should not be able to treat people this way and get away with it. I want my money back.
